Ordered over the phone. They were quick and by the time I arrived the meal was ready. There's some seating. We took out. Overall the food was good and would definitely recommend it!

Total saving grace to have a reliable Chinese takeout in the city blocks from where I was going. Tried two combos and soups. All fresh and made quickly. Happy to be here. Was unsure until I read Jareds review - then went right in. They made me cashew chicken not on the lunch menu- very accommodating and cool.

$10.88 for a nice bowl of chicken and broccoli and rice. Easy and simple. Good portion. I'm pleased! Nothing spicy or any real flavor to it, but gets the job done.

Ho Fun Menu at Shanghai Chinese Restaurant. We ordered the Chicken Ho Fun (wide noodles). It was great!

Shanghai Chinese Restaurant, located on Second Avenue near 71st St, runs a hopping business, yet does not have a website. We visit this place every few months to get take-out - not forgetting that this was one of the places that kept their doors open during the pandemic to feed locals and hospital workers. Order from here and expect a container full of freshly cooked, piping hot food that hits the spot when you are hungry after an 8-12 hour shift. Attaching photos of the Chicken Ho Fun (wide noodles) and Roast Pork with Mixed Vegetables that we recently ordered. Unsure about the future of this place as adjacent businesses such as Fei's laundry, Two Wheels restaurant and Windsor Flowers have been shuttered to make room for new development. Wishing this neighborhood fixture the best!

I just discovered this gem here in the UES. I was craving Orange Chicken and man did this place deliver on everything! I paid $13.89 for my food. The chicken was crunchy, tangy, and with the perfect amount of heat! Definitely coming back to try their other menu options!

Decent prices, mediocre Chinese American fare. No better or worse than you'd find at your average take out joint.

Service is very fast and they kept the water flowing (spicy dishes really are spicy!), and the portions are huge. Though you have to pay extra for white rice ($3 a bowl), the overall value was reasonable for the main dishes. The restaurant is dark and elegant inside, with a large tv over the bar that was showing sports when we were there. It had a nice ambience.

The grilled pork spare ribs was good, but it was too little meat for the price. The scallion pancake was bland. The Peking duck was ok. The pork xiao long bao was bad. The skin broke easily with the included forceps and with chopsticks. It was hard even transferring it to my plate. The mapo tofu was bland. The la zi ji (spicy crispy chicken) was too spicy to eat. I have good spice tolerance, and I always eat la zi ji, but it was just too spicy. This was the only meat dish that was barely touched at the end of the dinner. The best dish was the cumin lamb. It was seasoned well and the lamb was tender. I wish they gave us more lamb though. The meat pieces were small. I've had much better Chinese food in dallas. I would not recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone.
