I didn't even know that a Ship 2 Shore was in the making on the North side, but it is well worth the drive no matter what side of town you reside. Second, this location is way better than the kingsland location. Their seasoning is on point, which is something the other one lacked. In the pictures you'll see that we ordered a bit of everything and we have no complaints. Crab was succulent.... Mmm I can still taste it and I'm not even a huge fan of crab usually. The steak was a perfect medium rare seasoned to perfection!! Stopped in late afternoon to check out this seafood spot after looking at a few yelp reviews. We were a bit skeptical at first from the older outward strip Mall appearance, but ventured in anyway. Since this was our first visit we kept our orders from the menu simple. We were pleasantly surprised with the prompt arrival of our cooked to order food & the portion sizes. I could've swore someone's granny cooked the green beans- they were Kentucky wonder beans cooked with ham! Yum! My husband was delighted to get a blue moon on tap for $2.00 during happy hour- where else can you find a deal like that??? We used to go to the old location on Southside. I like their specials like the 20 shrimp/sides for $13 and All You Can Eat. I receive the text messages all the time. The AYCE you choose your seafood and sides. I have had my fish fried, blackened or grilled. My experience has always been a good one and the food took longer because it was made to order. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 was customer service has been hit or miss at times and this been dependent on when we go. We each ordered the crab stuffed flounder with shrimp and cheese. I had broccoli as a side and my wife had french fries. I also had a cup of the clam chowder. The wait for food was about 15 minutes. I was excited to try the food and it was packaged very neatly with condiments and utensils. While the blackened shrimp lunch portion was good, the size of the shrimp left me feeling sad, and the sides were standard (this does not mean bad). The flavors were there, and I could see the experience being enhanced had I eaten at the establishment; dining room looked good and lots of space. I will start with saying I ordered the platter for one with shrimp, oysters, scallops, deviled crab, hushpuppies, and cheese grits for $19.99 Pros: -They sat our group of 14 very quickly and in our own area. -Our waitress was great and handled our group very well. I am so sorry, but I did not hear your name when you said it but you know who you are and you were amazing. -Our waitress made sure to keep our drinks filled. -The cheese grits tasted amazing. Cons: -Our food came out at different times so we had people who were almost done eating by the time some of us got our dinner. -It took over an hour to get our food. -My shrimp came in a bowl full of butter which made it so soggy I could not eat it. I had to end up draining the butter from the bowl but that did not work. -The oysters tasted soggy on the inside of the fried breading. -The scallops had no flavor whatsoever. -The deviled crab was burnt on top, tasted very bland, and was mushy on the inside. -The hushpuppies were also bland and I found a weird piece of grey something inside one of them so I stopped eating them. All in all, I did not enjoy my meal. I should've just ordered a giant bowl of cheese grits because that was the only thing that had flavor. Went in May 15th for crablegs around 4:00 They were delicious. However, the service was terrible. Had to ask for reorders and wait 15-20 minutes had to ask for a refill on drinks. The group placed there order and there food was over a hour wait. Got there first order or crablegs. Then was told there reorder has already been place. WRONG. they ran out and did not bother to tell them. Manager came over and offered a discount. When they received there bill it was discounted but all there tickets was wrong items on there. Waitress corrected the ticket and took a lesser amount off for a discount. Manager then called the party of 10 a liar and said he would never discount that much.
