Two words: Avocado Mousse. I had never had that before, and my life is changed now that I've tried it. It is so dang good! The food here is amazing. I recommend the carne asada tacos with extra avocado mousse. It comes with fries on the side, which are tasty. I prefer tortilla chips with my tacos, so the 2nd day I ate here, I asked for chips instead of fries, and the staff was happy to accommodate. The chips were pipping hot and salty in a good way. I dipped them in the fabulous avocado mousse. For adult beverages, I suggest the watermelon cooler or the sangria. Both are fantastic drinks. There is no bad seat at the cantina, because all tables overlook the harbor. Ambiance is perfection. This was my favorite part of my stay at the Sheraton. read more

I was lucky enough to be here on the re-opening day of Shoreline Cantina. There was a pretty long wait and the service was rather slow due to the waitstaff all being new. I ordered three tacos -- carne asada, fish, and camote (sweet potato) mushroom. Each taco came served on its own place and taco stand -- pretty extra! It's not your authentic Mexican taco that you might find on the streets of San Diego, but it was decent for a poolside restaurant with a view of the harbor. They also don't mark which dishes are spicy, and the camote mushroom taco actually felt like I was eating chilis in each bite. I would've appreciated a warning of some sort, but at least they had just refilled my cup of ice water. The fish in the fish taco was fried, but it was very crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Great job! Three tacos set me back around $15. If you're hanging out in the area or staying at the hotel though, at least it's a relatively balanced meal for a decent price without having to take a taxi to town. They also have various drinks such as margaritas, cocktails, frozen drinks, etc. I was also tempted to try the churros or paletas (like a fruit popsicle with more toppings), but they really seemed priced to share. Simple menu but an excellent option for hotel guests I came here very hungry, and the food hit the spot! We got the burger, salad, and ceviche, and everything tasted surprisingly good. Convenient place to dine at after doing a water activity with SD Adventures. I had zero expectations given the location. Overpriced and mediocre food. I got the sliders and salad from the kid's menu because I felt these were less likely to get messed up, which was true. I also got a michelada which was decent because I don't think the beer that was used paired well with the michelada mix. I enjoyed my meal for what it was, a cantina/restaurant at a hotel and a tourist trap for the view. But customer service was good, the servers were attentive and quick to requests. read more

You can scratch this place off your list. A year ago the Shoreline offered street tacos ($10 for platter of 3) very tasty and flavorful along with along with chips and salsa. The menu contained a number of great things along with great cocktails. This year it seems that they have changed hands or definitely changed their chef and management. Now , all prices have increased substantially and the food is terrible ,almost inedible. Grissly steak tacos,dry tasteless carne asada. Hopefully management reads this and makes some changes. I came here for lunch with my wife earlier this week, I had the pork belly tacos and fries, my wife had the most delicious looking Poke bowl. Service was amazing, the view was spectacular, and the staff were very sweet to us. We were helped by Nikki who took care of all our needs, the pricing is relatively high but it's an upscale spot with good food and nice views. Would highly recommend this place! read more

We visited this place many, many times over the past couple years. We loved their tacos and great atmosphere! They just reopened for the season and my wife and I went there on Saturday. The menu has changed and in our opinion not for the better. The new chief decided to pair their tacos with french fries and vegetables. So, if you order two taco's, you get french fries and vegetables on the same plate. French fries with taco's? really? The server even thought it was odd. We just wanted a la carte tacos like they used to serve, but we were told no. The prices also doubled from last year. Two tacos are now $18.00! Crazy! read more

Wonderful spot! Excellent service and delicious food paired with a beautiful view... what else can you possibly wish for? Doggie friendly of course! The place is in a very spot at the Sheraton hotel, overseeing the marina next to the pool, the cocktails are great and surprisingly the food is good too, but what sets them apart is the wonderful service, Juan the host was on it to make sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything starting with grabbing some water for the pooch... Arturo the server was great, fast service not annoying at all. It felt that they didn't mind if you sat here and just enjoyed your drink. I ordered from the kids meal and it was huge! Enough for me and a snack for the fur kids... I am definitely coming back and highly recommend it. I watch all they do and how they treat everyone as they come in and not only are they cleaning and disinfecting throughly but they treat everyone with the outs most politeness and sincere good demeanor. I have to mention Juan again as he was on it to disinfect tables and back up the server. Just awesome I say it's a most to try, I'm coming back for sure. read more

I understand places are struggling during Covid and all the new policies being implemented, but it's very important for staff to be trained properly, capable and ready to work. It took the waiter 20 min to come over and take our order. We're at the hotel next door thought we'd grab a drink and a quick bite. Saw all the people waiting to get in and asked the waiter to box our order. Saw 3 patrons orders here messed up. Waited 25 minutes and they still brought or chips and salsa out for dine in. Waited another 20 min before I got everything to go. It was the worse mule (alcoholic beverage) I've ever had. I truly hope this is due to the pandemic. read more

Had a wonderful time visiting Shoreline this afternoon after my run! I had the southwest salad with shrimp and fresh avocado and it was fantastic. The servers were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The manager even came around as well and was very sweet to check on us. Definitely will be be back soon! read more

Food was terrible and customer service was just as bad. We ordered chips and guac for starters and chips were cold and so stale they were soft and hard to chew, They completely got my burger order wrong and gave my husbands food to another table, We had a child with us and his food came last and Our food was not brought out together and it was cold when it came. They did offer to remake and still got my order wrong. We were expecting to at least get something comped and we had to complain to only get the stale chips removed from the bill which still came to almost $100 for just 2 adults and a child. When we brought it to our waitress Adriana's attention she rudely said "Well you did get your food" as if we should not be given any discount that they got our order wrong twice waited over an hour for food twice and had no refills. I would not go back here ever again. Adrianna does not have good customer service at all. However the female chef was the only one to reach out to us to try and offer something to make things right but we were already done with the terrible customer service at that point. read more

Was at the Sheraton for a conference and a large group of us reserved the Shoreline. Atmosphere was awesome right on water and fire pits were great when the sun went down. The frozen mango margarita was great. The food wasn't anything special though. Service wasn't terrible but it was on the slow side and definitely not average or above. read more

Seating hostess was great as she was bussing tables and delivering orders too. Was there three times just to give fair chance, last time got up and walked out. Which, hostess girl was busting her butt every time we were there same way. Bartenders weren't helpful when asked if we could get condiment since hadn't seen server for twenty minutes, he said wasn't his responsibility. Servers were friendly but need to be managed/trained better. Horribly managed but only game in town, so long lines even if you have a reservation. Many other people upset. read more

Our group of 9 met here for breakfast because one of us was staying at the Sheraton. Upfront: the food was actually pretty good, I had eggs, hashbrowns and sausage, and my fiancée had crab cakes. Both were good, not exceptional. The one star is because the service was poor and the prices were outrageous. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. The coffee cost 4 dollars and was burned. Even after making enough comments the waiter brought a new pot and made a joke it was leftover from yesterday... the fresh pot was just as bad. The waiter didn't write anything down and had to ask everyone what they ordered when bringing out the food, splitting the checks, AND bringing the credit cards back to the table! One of our group got the wrong type of toast and even after telling our waiter, had to flag down another member of the staff to ask for his toast. The toast came out after we were all done eating. The icing on the cake was that not only was it overpriced, there was a hidden $7 service fee. No idea if this was included gratuity or we were just being milked since every separate check paid the service fee. My basic 2 egg breakfast and my lady's crab cakes wound up costing over $70 dollars out the door. Plus $12 dollars to park at the Sheraton since we didn't realize they validated for the restaurant guests - the waiter didn't offer. Didn't bother going back inside, we just wanted to get out of there. The waiter did take a bagel off the bill because of the wait for my friends toast, but come on. The whole experience was terrible, our group was making jokes about the poor service and the high prices throughout the meal. When my fiancée went to the bathroom there was a male maintenance worker fixing the sink in the women's room with no sign. He also did not leave the bathroom when she entered the stall! I thought that was pretty basic maintenance worker etiquette. Do yourself a favor and check out one of the many excellent restaurants in San Diego - check Yelp first. read more
