Late, Slow af, Lost Items, and Damaged my house! Hired three movers through Sinatra Movers for a simple move from a storage unit to a house. No packing was involved. Two of the three guys showed up on time in a car but the guy with the truck was 45 minutes late (they didn't charge me for this which is expected but still annoying). One of the guys was slacking extremely hard and basically did nothing throughout the move, the other two were just slow and kind of disorganized. I had another company do the other side of this move plus packing and Sinatra took the same amount time even though they did zero packing. On getting to my new place, they scratched the floors with their dolly and took some huge gouges out of the floor in the bedroom. They also lost a small box that contained the screws to my bed, which had to be replaced :( A lot of other people have had good experiences but I strongly recommend avoiding this company read more

From beginning to end, these guys were professional, efficient, thorough, and communicative. The owner (?) Mary communicated very well and had lightning fast email replies. She and her team answered whatever questions I had leading up to my very long and big move from Los Angeles to Portland. The virtual estimate process was very well done and covered all things very well. Sprinkle on top of all of this great service the fact that they don't do shared trucks and the quote was a very great/fair one. The actual loading was very smooth and fast. The 3 movers, led by Johnny, were very efficient and thorough. They were masters of their craft. Furthermore, the foreman Johnny was the actual guy who drove the truck up to Portland from Los Angeles and took care of my stuff like it was his own. And then the unloading was just as fast (if not faster) and efficient. My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Ali and his team. We loved the service and here are our takeaways. (For context, this was a Saturday morning move; from a 2nd floor, 1BR apt to a 1st floor, 2BR, 2 story apt.) ***** They provided a courtesy call 30 minutes before arriving. Upon arriving (on time), Ali did a quick walkthrough and also confirmed rates/forms of payment. ***** The whole team (three in total) wore masks the entire time. Yay! ***** The team was very polite, efficient, and respectful not only of our items, but the apartment (stairways, doors/walls, minimal noise/damage). They asked questions if anything was unclear. ***** Ali packed the fragile kitchen items (plates, glassware, etc) in packing paper with care and skill. Nothing broke! (see attached photo) ***** I have an expensive and heavy desktop computer/monitor, which I wanted to move myself (not because of their team, but because I'm very protective of my computer). They were more than happy to move it to my car, which I really appreciated. They even wrapped it! (and of course, they moved it from my car to the new apt afterwards) ***** They let us use their wardrobe boxes for free (which they took back afterwards of course). These boxes were SUPER USEFUL as we had a slew of odds-and-ends items that we didn't know how to pack. ***** They were more than happy to move items to the curbside that we wanted 311 to pick up (a large sofa, folding plastic table, etc). I was looking for a hassle free move so I started looking for different moving companies. I was not satisfied with most of them as they seemed very pushy to get the work. They kept calling me to do a service with them. I finally decided to go with Sinatra Movers. They are very responsive through yelp or through email. I asked for 2 movers. Both of them were veey nice and hard working. One of them was Serge. He was humble and answered all the questions I had. They made sure to finish the move as fast as possible with care. Horrific experience. Sinatra Movers is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever come across - and as someone who has lived in three countries, on two continents, this speaks volumes. Items were moved without being properly wrapped. Half of my belongings were left in the apartment at the end of the day, untouched, and I was told that they didn't have room on the truck for them despite me having sent an extremely detailed list of every item I needed to have moved long before the team arrived. We were severely overcharged and when we politely asked to speak with management to better understand the situation, Sinatra staff members chose to immediately escalate the situation by claiming that we were not going to pay at all, threatening us - repeatedly - by insinuating that they were going to have the police dispatched, and hanging up on us mid-discussion. Let me be abundantly clear: we NEVER suggested that we were refusing to pay at all. We merely pointed out that $3500 was an astronomical amount to be charged for a 3-block local move that included the items listed below. Not to mention that I literally picked up boxes and furniture myself and completed 50% of the move with my own two hands/on my own two feet. I graciously stepped in as their fourth - unpaid - crew member in order to get the job done. They have continued to blame us for their lack of professionalism and under-preparedness, and refuse to take responsibility for their own glaring internal insufficiencies. They are incredibly rude, lack empathy, their communication skills are non-existent, and they lie incessantly. The number of times they have stated that had my "apartment been pre-packed and ready to move", the overall outcome would have been different is ridiculous. When I booked them, I told them in no uncertain terms that I would require their team members to pack every item in my apartment. This should have been factored in to the booking logistics themselves by Sinatra. However, as I had the time and energy to do so, I ended up packing up my entire apartment myself long before the movers even set foot on our property. It literally took them 17.5 hours - over a period of two days - to move: - 1 queen bed - 1 small dining table with four acrylic dining chairs - 1 sofa - 1 small desk and acrylic chair - 2 small dressers - 1 small Ikea media stand - 1 43" TV - 1 large potted plant - 1 lightweight balcony chaise lounge with wheels on the bottom - 10 lightweight Ikea picture frames (acrylic, not glass) - 3 wardrobe boxes (which I packed entirely myself weeks in advance) - 1 floor mirror - 1 slim ladder bookshelf - 2 small lightweight rugs I had approximately 20 small and medium boxes - ALL PRE-PACKED. I even sealed them, marked them clearly with my unit number and pink duct tape, and moved them myself to the front door so that they were 100% ready to go. The guys simply had to pick them up and put them on the truck. As the guys moved one piece of furniture out, I picked up the next and moved it over to the front door to expedite the process, being sure to stay out of their way and to let them go where they needed to go when they were actually inside the apartment. My neighbor, who was moving on the same day, using the same crew, had 8 small boxes to move, a mattress, two barstools, a small patio sofa and small patio table, one small tv, one small rug, and two bookshelves. I am always the first person to take full responsibility for things having gone wrong when even the tiniest of issues is my fault or could have been prevented by me. I can tell you with complete confidence that the long list of issues we had with Sinatra Movers had absolutely nothing to do with us. They will claim that there was a language barrier, that we requested the incorrect truck size, that our apartments were not, in fact, fully packed and ready to go... gaslighting to the extreme. It is also clear that they treat their movers unfairly and make promises to customers that their movers cannot possibly keep or meet. I also rarely leave negative feedback or bad reviews, as I recognize that we all have "off" days and I prefer to write glowing reviews for jobs well done. I cannot, in good conscience, refrain from sharing my tremendously awful experience with this company though. I sincerely hope that they will take time to reflect upon their dysfunctional businesses practices and undergo the deep internal adjustments needed to prevent such atrociously unprofessional and borderline abusive circumstances from unfolding in the future. *I have several videos of the pre-packed boxes at my front door (date/time-stamped) along with video footage of everything the movers left in my former apartment at 8 pm on May 1st when it should have all already been unloaded at the new residence beginning at 3 pm on the 1st, however I seem to only be able to upload photos with this review. read more

I used this mover yesterday since they have a very good review in Google and also Yelp. Three movers came on site punctually, worked very hard, so I gave a big tip, but my problem is a management and after service. After I finish my moving and a mover left, I received a call from a property manager of a condo I moved out, and photo was attached that a mover left a trash on a street. I requested movers to leave some large furniture in a curve side, such as box spring, bed frame, a table, since I have already scheduled to a pick up by LA city sanitation department. It turned out that a mover also left trash left along with a furniture outside and also blocking a walkway. I contacted a mover and also spoke with a manager, and at least clean up a scattered trash on a street and not blocking a walkway until these items are picked up by City of LA, but the manager said the company cannot do anything about this and no responsible for outcome, unless I pay additional 3 hours job and pay them $600, after I already paid close to $1,000 in cash for moving. An experienced and professional moving company, are supposed to familiar to the rule how to leave large item/furniture outside to be picked up by Good Will or LA sanitation. And if movers on a site are not familiar and mistakenly leave a trash on a street, the company should take a responsibility to demonstrate their professionalism. The manager clearly told me that after a mover left a site, it's is not their responsibilities and a company is nothing to do with and not take any actions. I was a little hesitant to leave a negative comment about this company when I see an actual movers on a site working very hard, but the poor quality of management and customer service of this company is absolutely not acceptable and should be noted, so I decide to leave a true and honest my experience for others is consideration to choose a mover. Additional comments and respond to the owner's comment: Dear Sinatra Movers, No business should be asked for an unreasonable nor unfair additional service, as long as your job is done correctly. Nobody requested your company to do a garbage disposal which require a truck and for 3 hours for free. When a trash was left by your mover in a public place mistakenly when instructed to leave only a furniture at a curve side, and this ended up a complain by a neighbor and property management where you work at, most movers probably consider to fix this to some extent, even after you get paid and contract is signed. We hired Sinatra Movers to move my father-in-law from a senior living community in Santa Monica to one in Monrovia (about 40 miles). I always vet out any company on yelp extremely thoroughly- well, actually- quite neurotically. I have a 'rule of three' when vetting out services- always making sure to at least get three detailed quotes, which usually means more like five. I initially called Sinatra because I am Italian and the name caught my eye of course, and saw they had a 5-Star rating with an overwhelming amount of positive reviews. After calling a few other 5-star rated movers, I found Sinatra to have the best, and most fair and competitive pricing and an easy to estimate and understand pricing structure with no hidden fees or surprises. I also liked that they are a local business. Sonya, who booked our move was great at explaining the costs and made it very easy to book- and reschedule when we needed to move dates. She also was able to accommodate a strict move-out window and safety precautions the assisted living facility required. The crew had no issues wearing N95 masks AND Face Shields that were required and provided to ensure the safety of the vulnerable residents. It is NOT easy to breathe yet alone work in both the N95 and the Face Shield while doing lifting/manual labor, and yet they went the extra mile accommodating these precautions- and adhering to them without any gripes or hesitations. Alan and Xavier did an amazing job following instructions exactly, handling items and packing with care, and even disassembled and reassembled a bed and headboard at no extra charge. They were friendly, polite, and beyond accommodating and courteous. Solid, honest, hard workers. No corners were cut- in fact, they went the extra mile in every way they could. The stress of moving an elderly parent from one assisted living facility to another in the middle of a pandemic would have killed us if it wasn't for Sinatra Movers- they not only made it easy, but dare I say, a pleasure. Fast forward 6 months, I have Sinatra move my boxes from the storage unit (that has been locked with video surveillance A American storage) with me present, I make sure nothing is left i the unit, they move my boxes from the storage to my new apartment, I'm not gonna pay $160 and hour while I go through every item in 20 boxes. I finally settle in after they leave and open the boxes and several things are missing. Sinatra first told me all their employed have been with them for 5-6 years and therefor its impossible that they took my belongings then they said that I should've had a coordinator to make sure nothing "got left behind". I used this company in mid -May and I requested for 3 movers. These guys were slow and took way too long to complete. Included in my contract were for them To disassemble and assemble from old place to new place. The only item that was disassembled was one television. In my contract it was for two TVs, bed frame and assemble at the new place. We were moving from a studio apartment into a 3 bedroom apartment and they took 6hours in total. When they got to the new place, they took their time, one of them was on the phone and at one point missing in action while my stuff were sitting by the elevators and no one was in the truck. At that point, I no longer wanted them to assembled furniture because they had poor time management and poor communication. I had to call another moving company and the services I received from them was amazing. It was night and day such a difference. The other moving company were more professional and didn't complain about unloading and loading my items. The Sinatra movers complained instead of coming up with a better strategy to manage their time. I've emailed them to file a claim and no one responded back. I'm sure if I wanted to use their service they would've responded back immediately. read more
