I went here with some friends to have a small meeting and it was nice! they had some really really friendly baristas and lots of seating. A lot of the seating was that bar/high top table and chair thing but there were some regular tables and a few couches with low tables. I got a hibiscus tea which was really good. Siphon Coffee was great! We came here because they had a dog-friendly patio and it did not disappoint. We went on a Saturday morning and it was quite crowded - there was almost no seating inside. The parking lot was also full, but there's a lot of street parking nearby. They have a nice outdoor seating area to the side, kind of like a small alley. Unfortunately, it had rained recently and all the seating was very wet. They also have two small covered tables up front which we opted for instead. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my friend and I shared the siphon for two. The fried chicken sandwich was good - crunchy and had a good spice flavoring on the coating, but was a little bit on the salty side. I'll be honest - I'm far from a coffee snob and did not feel the siphon coffee tasted any different from regular coffee, but watching them make it was definitely very interesting. First time coming to Siphon Coffee and it is SO GREAT. We came to study and there is lots of seating with charging ports. There are a lot of medical students here studying, so you know it's a good spot. Their food and drinks are priced well ($5 for a vanilla latte, ~$4 for americano, and $10 for a burger/sandwich). The latte I had was very well done with a delicious medium roast and in-house syrup. The americano was a very potent light roast with complex and beautiful fruity notes. We were here for a few hours, and notably this place is well connected with the community. There are events here a few times a month, open for singer/songwriters and comedians. read more

I realize not everybody may agree with me on this one point but it's almost halfway through 2021, over 100 million people of been vaccinated, and you still have to wear a mask to go in? I know it's not a lot anymore so they are forcing this on the customers by choice. And of course since you don't have to wear a mask while enjoying a beverage inside it's all basically performative And yes, I'm a big digital guy but I just happened to walk down here with a 20 in my pocket and the fact I didn't take cash is also pretty lame. Great atmosphere! Variety of drink selections! & pretty good eats! Had a first time visit with some friends this weekend and while there was already planning when I'd be back. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay and two empanadas (one beef and one chicken); found myself very pleased with all. Both empanadas were good, but the chicken one was definitely tastier. We initially sat outside (super cute patio area) but we were quickly invaded by flies and just couldn't take it any longer so decided to move inside. I have only made one trip to Siphon, but I will be planning future trips. I went on a relatively busy Saturday mid-morning, so many people were there enjoying breakfast foods. There were a lot of seating options, from bar to table to couch. Even then, I managed to snag a seat at the seats along the window. There were a lot of outlets everywhere, which was convenient, as well as decent WiFi. The coffeeshop was filled with a mix of people there getting work done, and people enjoying their coffee. After lunch time, most people had their laptops out. I had a cold brew, which is very smooth, and a cranberry scone as unfortunately they were out of their daily savory scone :( I was not disappointed in either of choices. On their food and drink offering alone I would love to come back, but you throw in the space and I'm definitely coming back. Parking can fill up relatively quickly depending on when you go, but it seems like there are at least a few options for close curb-side parking. read more

Their syrups are made in-house, which is a strong extract of the flavors without any sugar. So yes - it isn't sweet. But that's exactly how I like my coffee. Ambience feels nice and lively. Came for a weekday breakfast with a friend of mine so we could eat grab coffee and spruce up our resumes. The baristas who made and took our order were both really friendly and helpful with suggestions for folks who've never been before (I hadn't). The beef empanada with chimichurri was delicious, as was the mushroom spinach quiche. I ordered a Barista's Choice coffee and received an iced latte with rose cardamom, white mocha, topped with cinnamon. It was fantastic and I'll probably be back soon. read more

Still haven't figured out the timing of this place. I've been twice. The first time I scored a parking space right across from the door. The second time I parked a couple blocks away in the neighborhood. First time I got prime seating at a large table near an outlet. The second time I was at a wobbly table getting bumped by everyone who walked by. I guess, given how busy the place can get I should just be glad I had a seat. Now that I'm typing this out I see my first visit was sprinkled with fairy dust. Based on all the reviews I've read, lot parking and great seating are myths. So never mind, I won't complain. The cookie is chewy but still soft, with big chocolate chunks throughout and a good sprinkle of sea salt on top to cut the sweetness. It's an okay coffee shop to work in but honestly not a great place overall. The staff is loud and vulgar. The service is ok. They get your food and drinks our fast. but you really can't ask questions without getting a borderline sarcastic and snarky response from the staff. At first I was like "oh this must be one of those places where the theme is to treat people poorly and have bad attitudes." I've actually been to those places and they are kind of fun and hilarious. But then I realized that it's not this type of place and the staff overall is just rude to customers. It's very cold inside normally. The drinks are okay. The environment is okay Everything is "okay" here. Positivities are the Wi-Fi works well, and as long as you have headphones in you can lock in relatively un disturbed. I would say this could be a 4 star shop with a few staff moves. Right now definitely more of a 2 star experience every time I've walked in. $7 for a small cup of chai is absolutely ridiculous. It took them forever to make my drink despite the fact that I was the only person to order in 10 minutes, and they didn't blend the chai at all. The specks of chai powder were stuck in my mouth, the sides of the cup, and the bottom of the cup. My first impression when I walked in was "oh this place is cute! Classy!" and my next thought was "there's a LOT of studying going on in here!" Oh man, there's so many things great things about this place. Siphon has got the killer vibes topped with the best drinks ever. Service was friendly (They're definitely willing to explain each drink if it's your first time coming!) and wifi was reliable as well. It's an awesome place to meet up with friends or study. DRINKS: In terms of drinks, I got the caramel latte, and it was utterly perfect - it was sweet but not to the point to where it diluted the coffee taste. I think it was one of the best lattes I've had. I also love how the barista called my name, and I watched as he was making the latte art with the steamed milk right in front of me. It really added to the experience! VIBES AND SEATING: The inside has this cool industrial feel with lightbulb lights and a brown wooden aesthetic throughout. It's very modern. At the same time, you have all different kinds of seating areas to choose from. Indoors, there are leather sofas, tall chairs next to the windows, or even nice large tables if you want to lay out your books/papers. I mean, we've all fallen for one gimmick or another. It's part of what makes us human. We all desire that one thing that might make us feel completely satisfied, if only for just a little bit, and companies try to capitalize on that desire. You may be thinking, "what the heck is this guy going on about? I just want to know about this coffee place, not get all existential." I'm about to get to my point. I fell for Siphon Coffee's gimmick hook, line, and sinker. Did it give me complete satisfaction? No. Was it good? Yeah, it kinda was. Siphon Coffee seemed to be a popular hangout/study spot. When we stopped by, we happened to get the last free table. Most of the tables were taken by what looked to be students that were squatting. If a quiet and relaxed coffee shop is what you're looking for, this may not be the spot for you. My cousin said that I could try a Siphon brew here, so it was the only reason why I showed up. I wasn't prepared for how expensive it was. $9 for one Siphon Brew is a little much. Even though you're able to get three cups of coffee out of one Siphon Brew, it's still a pretty high price. That being said, the coffee was delicious. No bitterness, smooth, and very balanced. Not only that, but it looks so classy. It's like a chemistry set for your coffee. My cousin had never tried it either, but mainly because it looked too intimidating. The staff at Siphon Coffee was great too. They knew what they were doing and they were friendly while doing it. What more can you ask for? Complete satisfaction won't be found at Siphon Coffee, but that's to be expected. At least you'll find a good cup of coffee. read more
