After several times here, this is a really good Old Town Thai option. Typically good service. Cool looking menu style (looks like a magazine) with lots of top choices. Today, I tried the Pik Khing with beef. This is one of my go to entrees at any Thai place. Great flavors here to include a nice medium spice flavor. I have tried the Panang Curry with chicken. Very good. Normal spicy is probably too mild for me. Good flavors. I like to get a side of broccoli to add more veggies to the dish. It comes with broccoli already but I like a little more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Oh, and the decor is really nice. Love the designs inside. Very cool[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Give them a try!

Love this place as first timers! Great menu, service, and food. The drinks are very expensive and both cocktails I ordered came out half full. If my drink costs more than $15, I expect it to be perfect, and not half empty.

I've had sisters Thai in the Tyson location and I think it was a little bit better or maybe it was just what I ordered. I felt like my pad see ew was a bit overcooked. The noodles weren't very chewy just limp. I also felt like the som tum salad lacked the kind of sourness I really appreciate in papaya salad. I didn't have a bad experience, just felt like the food served that night lacked authenticity according to my personal expectations. Service was great, no complaints there. She was fast, helpful, and knew the menu well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And it's a pretty large restaurant very beautifully decorated. It's great for groups or small parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Sisters Thai was not as dazzling as the reviews suggested. I imagine it's because there aren't many options in the area, but it was just ok. The hostess wanted to seat us in the very back, even though there were several tables in other areas. Thankfully, she had no issue agreeing to move us to a better table. The panang curry was very watery, the dishes lacked some authentic flavor, and most shockingly, the rice was overcooked. I also ordered the bartender's choice for a drink and even that was lackluster and watered down. Everything looked much better than it tasted. I could have caught them on a bad day, but I'm not sure I would return.

the restaurant got the order wrong; refused to remake the order and blamed the customer for not speaking "clearly". On top of that this messily portion size for $40 is the worse calorie per dollar thing a person could do in this recession. Strongly urge you to stay away & safe your money!!! How anyone could be a repeat customer to this establishment is beyond me. - T

It was Christmas Eve and we were looking for somewhere in Old Town Alexandria to get food. So glad our search led us to Sisters Thai!! I was super impressed and dare I say blown away by just about everything! From the Tom Ka soup right through to the Drunken Noodles - each dish we had was packed with flavours that were bold, authentic, and beautifully balanced. The service was great! Despite it being super busy - our sever was very attentive (especially on a holiday evening), and even came to let us know the kitchen was closing and if we wanted desserts, we had 10-15 mins to place the order/s. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The venue itself is really unique/trendy - I would describe it as a fun, unexpected blend of a cozy French bistro aesthetic with a Thai twist--warm, stylish, and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A total gem in Old Town & I can't wait to go back!

We stopped by for a weeknight dinner with some friends we had coming in town, and were able to get seated right away! It was pretty busy but the service was stellar and our food came out quickly too. Tried the thai tea which is always good. Then the summer salad with salmon added, chicken panang curry and the ka prow. We were all extremely happy with the food especially the portion sizes! Will for sure stop by again when Im over here for work again.

Went with a full table of 8 people and we feasted! Everything we ordered was delicious from the appetizers, salads, to entrees. Our table ordered 12 different dishes and they were ALL amazing, not a single "meh" item!! Wish we saved room in our bellies for dessert but just couldn't do it. The restaurant is super charming and small enough for a fully attentive staff. This is the second time I've been here - the last time was a year ago and I will go back again!!

Absolutely loved the decor of this restaurant! It's like three places in one. It's has a very unique and spacious bar setup, a cozy restaurant feel, and also a specialty coffee/dessert shop feel. Great architecture overall. The food was a 7/10. Good, but nothing to write home about. For starters, the Crab Rangoon was one of the better ones I've had, as it wasn't overloaded with cream cheese. The crispy wontons and mango sticky rice were also tasty. For my entree I ordered the duck curry. It was a tad underwhelming, as it lacked the spice level I was looking for and the duck was pretty soggy and fatty. Not a bad dish, but not what you would want, given the price tag. Service was more than satisfactory. The waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and prompt.

Came here for lunch yesterday. Overall, the food was disappointing. Thai tea: delicious, still. Good blend of strong and sweet but not too sweet or creamy. $5 Drunken Noodles: really not good. I looked at photos to see if I was trippin and it seems like the noodle squishiness/slime varies. In my case, the noodles were QUITE slimy. Like very slimy and squishy and gross. In addition to being gross, they tasted very bland. I was so disappointed. $20-22 Crabmeat fried rice: I don't remember there being celery before. Gross. I've never had celery in my crab fried rice anywhere before. Also, the rice was the blandest it's ever been. Even my kid was like, "maybe it's only really good at dinner." $28 Crispy spring rolls: good and crispy but these are hard to mess up. $12 Service: fine. Definitely slow. We are outside and were the only ones so it felt like we got forgotten at one point. I like to make my own sauce for spring rolls. Spring rolls took like 20 minutes. I waited an additional 13 for soy sauce because our server didn't come around for forever. My kid's water glass was empty for a long time. Honestly... maybe we'll try the Tyson's location next time. This was NOT it this time.

Hands down my favorite spot in the DMV -- Sisters Thai never misses. From the plating to the flavors to the whole vibe, everything is perf. It's the perfect mix: restaurant, bakery, and bar all in one. Service is always good. Dropping a throwback video to when I first discovered this place -- still just as good.

Came here as it was an easy walk from the hotel with a fellow trainer. The food was pretty good. The service was fair. My colleague asked for more cashews than chicken for her dish and they didn't listen. I had to ask them several times for extra cashews. We were done with the meal that we had to ask for them to go. We got some, but probably like 6 of them. Anyhow beside that we sat outside and it was fall day. I order pad Thai and green curry. I enjoyed the curry, however the pad Thai was very average. Actually the curry was even better the next day, I ate it cold and it was tasty. If I come back to Alexandria again, I will def go.

Great little sandwich shop!…read more It's very popular at noontime. I took a break from my 4 hour long painting class upstairs in the Torpedo Factory to snag a bite. My timing was good, because I arrived right before a work group of maybe 10 people or so came into place their orders. In addition to a substantive sandwich menu, which includes both hot and cold sandwiches, there's plenty of beverage (including wine) and snack selections. Wearing an oil paint-smudged apron (FYI: the reality is that you're still going to get paint on your clothes even wearing an apron), I aptly ordered the Torpedo Artist. The Torpedo Artist is a hot Panini-like sandwich. You can select your type of meat, cheese and toppings. By default it includes lettuce, sweet peppers and deli oil. My sandwich was well-crafted with plenty of turkey and Swiss cheese. However, I didn't especially like this sandwich. I wish I had asked them to hold the deli oil because it was overly pungent with oregano. All I could taste in my sandwich was oregano. But older and wiser now, I know in the future that if I have them hold the deli oil, I'll end up with a great and tasty sandwich.

I will definitely for this again on my next trip. I ordered a BLT on multigrain, and a PBJ w/honey drizzle on sourdough. The PBJ is off the kids menu. I'll ask for extra peanut butter and jelly so it's to my liking. I couldn't tell if there was honey on it, it could have been. The BLT was fantastic. I loved that it was not oiled high with all the ingredients. A simple sandwich. It fit the bill and didn't over fill me. A true classic. The multi grain bread was the best! I need to find out where that is from. It was that good. I hope I'm able to try the tuna fish and the egg salad sandwiches sometime they look delish! The staff were quiet, but got the job done. There is a small bar like area to eat in, and outdoor tables in a covered area to enjoy your sandwich.

There's something about their peanut butter that's mildly addicting. I think it's homemade (need to verify this). The other day I decided to also try their "Zen rolls" since I saw this on the Uber Eats menu. Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! When I took the first bite, at first I noticed how refreshing it tasted, and how delicious the chili sauce was. As I was eating it the veggies tasted fresh, especially the peppers and the strawberry combined with the chili sauce was so good in the most surprising way. Who knew rice paper rolls could be THIS healthy? Despite being tired that day I ended up with renowned energy after eating those rolls. Like it felt super nourishing. These were definitely the most tasty veggie rolls I've had in a while. The sauce is just divine. I love that they really package their stuff so carefully and the box has such a cute aesthetic. Everything truly feels like it's made with love, and their cups have little fake stickers on them to really give your drink a personal touch, something I don't see at other smoothie or juice bars. Everything just has this niche personal feeling to it. If you want a healthy lunch or drink, this is your spot. It definitely feels like you are getting real good nourishment here and I am all for it. I will be back soon for my ACAI fix! The smoothie was creamy, fruity, and visually one of the most striking drinks I've had in a while. The mango and banana gave it a naturally sweet flavor, while the coconut yogurt added a rich texture. I could still pick up some of the blue spirulina underneath everything, which kept it from tasting one-dimensional. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. It felt like a place where you could slow down for a few minutes instead of grabbing something and rushing back out the door. One thing I like about this smoothie is that it's easy to customize. After having it before, I've found that ordering it with light banana and no agave makes it taste lighter and lets the mango come through more. That said, the standard version was still enjoyable and is probably the best starting point if you've never tried it before. I'd definitely come back and try other drinks on the menu.

I opted for Vola's hot coffee, which just didn't taste very good, even when camouflaged with cream. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate fudge cake, vanilla bean trifle and Audrey's key lime pie. The chocolate fudge cake was very rich and very tasty. But even I, as a chocolate lover, would have preferred that the cake had come with some vanilla ice cream to balance things out. The key lime pie with Chantilly cream was good with a sharp lime flavor. I ordered the Vanilla Bean Trifle. This dessert came with a blackberry compote, Chantilly cream, whipped cream and a crispy thin butterscotch tuile wafer. The flavors in the trifle were great, but because the dessert was served at nearly room temperature, it wasn't very appealing. To be best enjoyed, this dessert should have been chilled.
