    Beef Sirloin Steak Rice Bowl

Got a beef rice bowl to-go and it was just ok. Portion size was good but the flavor and quality of the food was lacking.

Located in SLU, this is one of the rare finds of affordable lunch. Banh mi's from $9.99 and rice bowls from $11.99, plus tax - a lot of neighboring places price lunches at 50% more than here. When I went at 11am at opening, it was already pretty busy with a line out the door so I can't imagine how busy it is when it is noon. There is limited seating inside and some outside (only viable when it's not too cold outside). I got the grilled chicken rice bowl with the green sauce, with lettuce, carrots, etc for the toppings. The green sauce is like a cilantro sauce and it was an amazing addition. There is a lot of chicken but not much rice, and I'd take that over having more rice to fill me up. The vegetables are fresh and make the meal nutritionally complete. It was just the right amount of food, and it was healthy, so it is not as filling as other places, but I would take this quality over having quantity. With the amount of meat and the quality of the food, this is one of the better lunches in SLU!

Always my go to quick and easy meal back in UDistrict. Still hit the spot after many years later. Both pork and beef are perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Veggies are always fresh.

My pork vermicelli prowl with extra jalapeno!!! Ya'ss!! Perfect!!!

Ambience. A Service. A Food. A Price. A Found in the middle between buildings surrounded by working. And living spaces. Have no idea where to find parking, albeit got lucky with street working around block to get my pickup. Nice modern spot. Reminds me of a chipotle setup for ordering Vietnamese food!! Ordered off UBER eats to get a discount BOGO and did my own pickup to avoid $10 deliver service fee. Ordered pork vermicelli. All the veggies were fresh and crunchy and rice noodles on point and the pork was tender. Don't know where the sauce is ?!! The Nuoc Cham sauce?!! Took home and made my own. Lots of food for $15 a bowl! Overall, I'm a FaN!!!

Great place to get a quick and casual Vietnamese meal. Portions were good, lots of flavor and fresh vegetables. Some pieces of meat were a little dry. Overall good experience.

Nice spot for a quick lunch! The staff is responsive and super quick. The grilled chicken was yummy, get the spicy green sauce! The amount of food was pretty great given it was only around $12. Would definitely go back again!

Lychee lemonade without ice? We are confused if it was overlooked or is this standard? Yuzu arrived same way.

We ordered via Instacart. And it was awesome delivery (while being treated for lung rejection), easy transfer, tipping etc. never went into store but very well liked by UWMC staff. The food is Banj Mi Beef Brisket. The brisket is golden. Smooth and silky to eat with the best seasoning and veg ratios. The crunch baguette... yum. Transports me back to my childhood in Seattle restaurants. This is our second order from them and everything is delish. Will go back. Lychee lemonade and yuzu lemonade. I got the half sweet version of the lemonades and only received half a cup and NO ice? Maybe that is their sweet 50% version. Not a win.

I got an order for pickup and didn't realize that this was like a Chipotle but with Vietnamese food until I stopped by to grab my order. You can choose between different meats, veggies, and vessels to carry all the above on (rice, banh mi, vermicelli noodles). I got the grilled chicken rice bowl with no jalapeños and extra egg (since it was the #1 order online). Glad I listened to the masses because it was bomb. The chicken was flavorful and juicy, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the veggies were fresh. Also the portions were great. I have a big appetite and I was able to split my bowl into two meals. I'll definitely be coming back to try different custom orders! Highly recommend asking for extra fish sauce too.

Came to SLU for 4th of July and stopped by here to eat while waiting for the fireworks to start. Overall, I thought this place was ok. I got the grilled pork bánh mì for $9.98 Pros: super huge generous portions. Given the big increase in food prices lately, what you get here is a steal and the main reason why I would come back. I noticed big portions in my sandwich and also others' orders. Grilled pork had good flavor and I liked the grilled corn and scallion oil (mỡ hành). Cons: I felt the bread was either old or previously heated to be crispy and then left to cool for a long time so it was a little dry. They ask to put the sauce on last but I think they should put it on first because after all the meat and veggies they give, there's practically no room for sauce. I thought they should've pickled the carrots longer or with more sugar. I wonder about the cleanliness because the bathroom could use some work. Thought it was weird they store containers and food wrappers a mere feet from the toilet (though everything looked wrapped/in boxes). Neutral: Service was not outstanding but got the job done Next time I would like to try the rice bowl

I took my friend here to eat with me during the end hours of the Georgetown Carnival around 8:30pm…read moreafter hearing my friends tried here earlier in the day and vehemently recommending it to me. For it being less than half an hour before closing, it was packed inside, with two sections of seating for various group sizes, and a casually loud interior with a counter full of water jugs and glass cups in front of a nice plant backdrop with the name of this place in lights. Menu serves a ton of Asian fusion dishes along with some regular entrees and a ton of cocktails and wine. From my sis's recommendation when she went, I got myself the banh mi smash burger after deciding between that and the Pho-rench dip my brother-in-law had. My friend got himself the La Vong fish sandwich, which I didn't get to try though we both did split an order of honey sriracha Brussel sprouts. - For the banh mi smash burger, think of ALL the essential ingredients of a standard banh mi sandwich; then put in a regular beef patty, throw in lemongrass beef as the other meat and add provolone cheese as a complement to the pate-mayo spread. That's what this is in a nutshell, and it tastes exactly like a banh mi sandwich as a result, only in burger form. This was an absolute hit and win for me; beef patty was juicy, condiments were fresh, lemongrass beef was equally as juicy, and the side of fries made this a very filling dish! - I normally don't like Brussel sprouts because of their similar taste profile to asparagus, but I ate a ton of the honey sriracha Brussel sprouts from here. It's sweet and tangy, both of which mask the oddly earthy and bitter tones of regular Brussel sprouts. They're also roasted which further gets rid of that bitter taste I don't enjoy. We rushed a little eating since they were close to closing but we loved everything we got here! These weren't your typical fries though. They were Dutch-style, coming topped with mayo, satay, onions, and chili sauce. A mix of Dutch and Indonesian flavors. This probably was my favorite dish. The combination of pungency, fattiness, crispiness, and spiciness was very good. It kind of reminds you of a plate of nachos, but the fries themselves have a better taste than a bed of chips would have. They manage to stay crispy almost until the end. The main dish I had was the South African Bunny Chow. This was a chicken masala curry inside a bread bowl, spilling out on either side. This was very solid as well. The curry tasted similar to a butter chicken - lightly spiced and creamy, but the chicken inside was quite juicy. The act of putting this inside a bread bowl was very cool. It made it easy to get both the bread and the curry in a single bite with a spoon I didn't like the dessert much, though. What I had was the chocolate malva, but the apricot was way too forward and the sweetness was missing. I tried the Danish cake as well but found this similarly disappointing. The price ended up being somewhat expensive, at around $45 per person after the meal, despite the deal. Portions were solid though. Overall, it's a cool avenue to try different street foods, but I wouldn't say anything special. 7.25/10
