I've got a deep, dark, filthy and disgusting secret. Truly terrible. I'm risking any ounce of street cred I ever had by telling you this. ...I sorta, kinda, sometimes really love Sizzler. I know. You totally just threw up in your mouth didn't you? Sorry about that. But as you're cleaning yourself up, you may be wondering, "Well, why 2 stars then, if you love it so much?" I'm glad you asked. The handy dandy caption under two stars says "Meh. I've experienced better" and three stars says "A-OK." So, yeah. Sizzler is not nearly the best steakhouse you'll ever go to. But, if you grew up in a small desert town, like I did, where Sizzler is the pinnacle of fine dining - sometimes you'll oddly find yourself drawn back to that endless shrimp and steak with that delicious salad bar. I will say, it's not horrible as far as steak or shrimp goes. But the two things I love about Sizzler are the corn nuggets from the salad bar and the Texas toast. Why did I skip lunch at Katella Deli, my other Los Al lunch choice, and end up here? Or one of a hundred or so places between my morning appointment in Culver City and home in the OC? Because at the last minute, I heard a news clip about how good spinach is for your health. I really like Sizzler's baby spinach. dotted with dried cranberries, and almond salad with sweet vinaigrette. Well, wouldn't you know it, they didn't have it, unlike the Sizzler's in Cerritos and another near the 91 and Beach Blvd. The outside of the place from Los Al Boulevard looks inviting with nice landscaping. But it's not that great inside. You smell the heavy air freshner of the bathrooms while you're in line. The clientele was mainly business people who looked bored while they were eating. And their grandparents. The fruit wasn't bad, the watermelon was sweet. At the hot buffet, I got stuck behind a sweet but slow couple in their late 80's. They stood around the chicken wings, spaghetti, and Mexican stuff forever making their choices and telling each other "I can't have that, it gives me gas, honey..." If you LOVE mayo, this place is for you. Their four main prepared salads were 1, Mayonnaise with macaroni, 2, Mayonnaise with potatoes, 3. Mayonnaise and cream with imitation krab. and celery 4. A no mayo onions and cucumber. Not great. So, at least there was the regular salad items, much less choices than other Sizzlers. Thank God their chicken wings, make your own tostadas or burritos with ground beef and pork, and Texas toast are still around. My steak lunch was cooked properly, and they gave me a fairly large piece considering it's supposed to be 6 oz sirloin. That was one saving grace. Typically, when a place serves good food, people are stuffed and smiling, but not here. I guess sometimes, we just shove buffet food down our stomachs and hope the rest of the day is better. Price is $11 or so for an $8.00 steak lunch and $3.00 extra for salad bar - drink comes with meal. read more

This place is always CLEAN, all the staff is ALWAYS friendly and customer service is always on point! I come here on the weekends and the experience is always great! Food is always good whether you are ordering a meal from the menu or picking to do the ALL YOU CAN EAT salad bar. All the food is great! The Toast Bread they bring you is something that I always look forward to the crisp is always consistent! Its amazing!!! The parking is great, plenty of parking spaces. Recently, while in Phoenix we visited Sizzler. First time in years. Not fond of the Buena Park location. Needed revamp last time we were there. And we never thought about the Los Al location until Siri reminded us that it was our nearest location. As another reviewer said, in years past Sizzler was the in place for families to eat. Everyone gets what they want - meat, fish, salad. Nice spread of choices reasonably priced. We took our kids often. Last night we walked in during the pre-dinner rush. The place was clean. No line yet. After we were seated the rush began to fill booths and tables. This must be a local favorite for gramps, paps, kids. Salad bar very appetizing. Next time I'll get that, but last night I wanted salmon. I'd ordered from the senior menu in Phoenix (11.99). Not on the senior menu in Los Al (14.99). Soft serve ice cream station - well stocked and maintained. Sometimes by the end of the day these stations look weary and beaten down by traffic. Not so here. Everything looked freshly stocked, within easy reach. Complimentary bread. In Phoenix they served dinner rolls. Los Al served their famous cheese toast - a tasty, crunchy wave of nostalgia. Service. Meh. My husband ordered strawberry lemonade. They asked him twice what he wanted to drink and got limeade. I ordered coffee and never got a refill. Food. Hubby ordered ribeye steak. He wanted prime rib, but they don't serve that anymore. Tho' it was a tad stringy and fatty, he enjoyed his medium-rare steak. I ordered grilled salmon with baked potato without butter. Unfortunately I had to scoop a large dollop of butter out of my potato. We'll definitely go again. We'll just be a tad more explicit when ordering. read more

Sizzler is just not the same any more. The quality just went down a lot. The garlic bread is not the same... the salad bar just keeps getting smaller and smaller.. If I could give this place a 0000000 star they would have it. My family walked in to eat and the manager approached us and asked if we had masks. We said no how would we eat if we are wearing a mask? And he was like oh you have to have a mask. These masks are bullshit and Sizzler and your managers you will start to see how bad your business model is if you're going to base it on people wearing masks. Sizzler is one of our family's all-time favorite place to go for an incredible meal. We tend to choose it for birthdays and other special occasions. The dinner selections are outstanding and the portions very generous, plus everything tastes amazing. Of course, as it may happen at any popular restaurant, there are rare times where we find some tiny nuance that may be a bit off, and not to the liking of one of our guests. But we have not experienced any of the negatives to the extent described by other reviewers. At any rate, even if we do find something to complain about, it never takes away from an excellent experience. To top it all off, we always have super stellar service from Leslye, a dynamo of a waitress. She makes our whole table feel like celebrities, all while being super efficient and attentive. Salad (and soup) bar is back! Yay! AYCE salads and tacos or all-you-can-be-infected-with-COVID variants? I think its adorable that management believes that guests will comply with the salad bar rules (wear a mask, put on the complimentary vinyl gloves) much less that only fully vaccinated guests can go maskless. For all anybody can tell, all the maskless guests (and most were maskless) are spewing virus all over the lettuce, the fruit, and the salad dressings. and if that wasn't bad enough also the ice cream station. And if they didn't get the virus on the food their first trip - plenty more trips before they're done. Remember only half of Orange County is vaccinated and nobody can tell who is and who is not. Sure, me and my folks are vaccinated but the fewer variants that land on the foods that we put UNCOOKED into our mouths the better. Stay away from the salad bar and stay safe with the regular entree options, which my folks and I have enjoyed so much like the burgers, the fried shrimp, and the grilled salmon. Food was okay, it's sizzler same for years. The concern is process. We ordered three meals then we changed a meal immediately to a salad bar. They wouldn't give me a receipt that matched what they charged me. I asked a manager and he looked at me like I was asking for his first born. The waitress proceeded to explain that since we made a change, they are not allowed to void anything. They have to just tell the cook of the change and then credit by using the coupon code. The result is that they wouldn't give me an itemized receipt that matched my charge. This was our first visit to Sizzler. We weren't really sure what to expect but we're surprised by the offerings at the salad bar. Service was great, portions were large, and we even felt right at home with access to the back TV! The food came out fast which didn't allow us much time to get to explore the salad bar. There were options for the whole family. It was a little tight around the salad bar, however. It wasn't super busy when we went so it wasn't too bad. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly. Wow Sizzler. I haven't ate in one of them in a very long time. The place was clean and quiet. Probably because no one was there. When we came in we gave our order and went and found a booth. We were walking and noticed that the TV had the auto auction playing so we sat there. Our waitress came and got our ticket and we waited for our food and watched the cars. This is where it went south. The table behind my girlfriends left shoulder was occupied by the manager. He was eating a snack and every now and then one of the wait staff would stop by. Pretty harmless at first glance. As the night progressed and I started looking around for our food I was shocked that every time I looked at his direction he was looking at us. Our food came and he continued to look at us. I was very uncomfortable but tried to make the best of it. We finished our meal, it was ok nothing to review but ok. My girlfriend asked for a refund for the salad bar as she didn't use it. We got the refund and before we could get up the manager had left the table. This was friday night. As we were walking out to the car I brought it up to my girl and she said that's why she didn't go to the salad bar. Had I known that she saw the creepy manager and it bothered her I would have said something. I want to go back but will give them a chance to respond to this review first. If you are looking for a comfortable place to eat dinner I would pass on this place until management has a chance to review its staff. read more
