I came here for seafood, specifically their Oyster Rockefeller, because I haven't had it in decades. It's one of my all-time favorite dishes, along with foie gras, bone marrow, head cheese, suckling pig, and more. I was happily surprised to discover it's located across the street from my favorite studio, Mr. Inkwell's Classic Tattoo & Piercing. I guess I didn't pay close attention when I mapped out directions--a real downside of relying on GPS these days. I remember when I used to memorize streets, locations, and directions every time I visited a new place or traveled. Anyway, I digress. The place is fancy and spacious, with a market out front, divided into three or four sections: the bar stools right in front of the bar, the bar seating area, the main dining space, and an enclosed patio. The employees all looked experienced and mature, like they had been there for more than a decade. The three hostesses at the front were younger. After looking at the menu, I decided to start with their peach puff pastry topped with vanilla bean ice cream. When a dessert catches my eye, I often prefer to indulge in it first because I might be full afterward. It didn't disappoint. I took my time, savoring every bite. The freshly cut peaches had a nice bite, while the puff pastry was crunchy and flaky, with its very tasty cream. The vanilla bean ice cream was simply delightful. After finishing, I didn't want to spoil the high from such an amazing dessert, so I decided to take the oysters home. It's half a dozen. Presentation-wise, they're a bit underwhelming compared to previous ones I've had. And just so you know, I used to work part-time as a server at an upscale American restaurant at the top of a fancy old hotel in Long Beach, at a well-known authentic Italian pizza place in San Diego, at a small Korean bar in Torrance, at a family-owned Filipino restaurant, and at a Japanese fast-food chain, among others. Even with a full-time 8-5 corporate job, I still worked part-time as a server, dining host, and karaoke hostess. My three favorite pastimes are enjoying delicious food, meeting new people, and discovering new adventures. To continue, my biggest disappointment was that two of the six Oyster Rockefellers didn't contain any oysters at all! It's baffling how that could happen. Usually, Oyster Rockefeller looks bulky with build-up depth from the spinach, cheese, butter, and seasonings on top of the oysters themselves. But these looked dull and bland with a plain flat top. They also weren't that hot. It wasn't really appetizing. Two of them only had the adductor muscle (that round, fleshy part attached to the shell), which I actually love, by the way. So you see, I couldn't be mistaken, as I slurped the oysters only to taste the spinach, cheese, butter, and the little bitty meat muscle I had to scrape a little off the shell with a fork. There were definitely no chewy, soft, and tasty oysters. I hope it was just a simple mishap, especially for an upscale restaurant known for its seafood dishes. Hopefully, a member of management sees and reads this review and takes corrective action to ensure this never happens again. Please note that the usual price for great-tasting Oysters Rockefeller at a well-established restaurant is $30. This place charges $25, which makes me think twice. But then again, some of its dishes are priced a few dollars lower than most, except for the dessert, which costs a few dollars more at $15. However, I still enjoyed it so much that it doesn't matter to me. In life, there are always pros and cons when it comes to overall preferences. It is always up to you to try things yourself and not rely on someone else's opinion, which might prevent you from discovering new things. That said, I am willing to come back to try other dishes that look equally scrumptious and reasonably priced: Toodle-loo, my darling readers. Until next time.

They have really high end cuts of meat like wagyu and Japanese A5 meats here; however, that's not really what I come looking for. Their pantry is nicely stocked with quality ingredients. It's hard to not pass up their delicious pork rinds (from 4505 or Southern Recipe) or Mutti marinaras. And if I don't feel like cooking, I can come for lunch in order to walk away with a sandwich that they can make for me. Overall, this is a small shop, that's thoughtfully stocked with some really high-quality ingredients for me to make a nice dinner at home!

OVERVIEW Sizzler Los Alamitos, Exterior First Impression: This Sizzler seemed blingy (i.e. newer) It had a fancier sign out side than others I've been to (it was backlit!) but it also seemed uncessarily blingy. It also seemed more modern on this inside. Either this Sizzler had a remodel a few years back or is a new location. It was also quite clean. Staff: he staff was not that friendly, but they were not mean. They were basically zombies...zombies, feeding off the flesh of iceberg lettuce, jello and popcorn shrimp. Clientele: There were more children at this location, but they weren't wild (I'm not the biggest fan of children, especially while I'm eating...or flying). There were also a few recent high school grads (still in cap and gown) who had been dragged to this Sizzler for a post-graduation celebration (lucky them). Wait Time: Total time it took to walk in, order and sit down: approx. 5 minutes. Time it took to get my food from the moment I walked in, 10 minutes. Sizzler Los Alamitos Cheese Toast REVIEW DETAILS THE GOOD Baked Potato (came with entrée): Good! didn't taste old or grungy, as potatoes can be. Fixins' were nice and sloppy, just how I like em (please don't read too much into this comment. if you did, you're disgusting!). Taco w/ ground beef, cheese and guacamole: This was a great taco...so good I went back for another! Shell was fresh, cheese didn't taste processed and guacamole was pretty good! and the meat...muy bueno! Self-made Iceberg lettuce w/ onions and carrots : Everything was fresh and crisp. I felt like a happy rabbit! Fruit: The fruit was excellent! Tasted very fresh and delicious Cheese toast: It wasn't the absolute best Sizzler cheese toast I've had, but it was pretty good...good enough to get seconds (such a fat ass I am!) AMBROSIA: This Sizzler gets extra points for even having ambrosia. Not all Sizzlers do (for some ungodly reason). If you want to have a Sizzler Los Alamitos Wet Naps saladbar fit for the gods, you need the ambrosia! Jello: Good (if ever I find a Sizzler with bad Jello, I'm calling the health department) Cottage Cheese: nice consistency (what else is there to say about cottage cheese?) Onion Rings: Nice and thick (hey! keep your mind out of the gutter!) Cookies and Cream Mousse: Very good! Pineapple Sauce (for desserts): You don't always see this, so it was a nice surprise WET NAPS: They provided Sizzler wet naps at the end of your meal! I've never been given these! Sizzler Los Alamitos Steak and Potato THE BAD 6oz Steak (the entrée): It was kinda chewy and not as tasty as other Sizzler steaks I've had (and I've had a bunch!) NOTE: they don't have the 8oz steak with the all-you-can-eat salad bar included. You only have the 6oz option. Other Sizzlers offer both options. Pre-made Cesar Salad: Limp and soggy (what did I tell you about keeping your mind out of the gutter???) Potato Wedges: not that warm and just bland. Broccoli Cheese Soup: I've had much better. Wasn't that cheesy...and I needs my cheese Banana Pudding w/ Nila Waffers: Eh. pretty bland. Strawberry and Banana thing: I do not know what this is called, but it's basically a dessert. It was too gelatinous Softserve (swirl): It was somewhat watery. NO GUMMY BEARS: This will always be a BAD in my book. And yes I know putting gummy bears in softserv just makes them hard, but I don't care. I need me some gummy bears when I'm at Sizzler. In fact, the overall toppings they had was disappointing. Sizzler Los Alamitos Bathroom THE BATHROOM Clean, but small: for a place that has an all-you-can-eat buffet, you think they'd have a bigger bathroom. 1 urinal 1 stall Fully stocked: plenty of tp, soap and ass gaskets IN A NUT SHELL... Order the steak, but take it home for the dog. Focus on the taco bar If you're a vegetarian and you're dragged to Sizzler, just have your inconsiderate friend load you up with fruit from the salad bar The wet naps are a rarity and can be used for your hands or other body parts (depending on which part of you gets dirtiest from the buffet) Don't take your kids to Sizzler for their graduation dinner (they'll end up taking you there for your retirement party or put you straight into a home). read more

I have ordered from this location multiple times and never got what I ordered and when I call to ask if I clicked on the wrong item all I get I an attitude from the individual that answers the phone and the manager. I paid for all-you-can-eat shrimp and steak all I got s 3 shrimp both times. Never going back to this location. The location in Buena Park is awesome!! I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. I had "wooder" to drink. Later I ordered a chocolate milkshake. The burger and fries were tasty. I ordered the cheeseburger plain and dry and that request was honoured. The milkshake was very good. Men's washroom was clean and paper towels were available... good. However while the men's washroom had both a urinal and commode, there were no walls to afford privacy to someone using the commode which basically turned the washroom into a facility only one person could use at a time. I consider that to be a deficiency and when this establishment is busy one men's washroom may not be adequate. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would get an A-.

Why not turn on the air conditioning? And please don't say it's broken…read more We love Burros & Fries. It's one of our "go-to" places when we want something good, quick and at a decent price. With that said, we've gone by three times in the last month...a VERY hot month as everyone knows...and we stepped in and then right out because the AC was not on and it was quite warm inside. The doors were open, but there's no kind of breeze, plus there are no fans. I would guess we're not the only ones who have come in and left without eating. Obviously I don't know for sure, but I would imagine the money saved by B&F not running the AC, would have been recouped...and then some...by keeping the AC on and the customers comfortable. We will certainly go back again, but this is just my two cents.

Lots of value menu options to choose from and other items to try. Staff was attentive, restaurant was clean, and there was a steady flow of customers. Good people; sign says they are family owned. Definitely will be back to support.

Our assigned waiter did great job for a party of 24. He was courteous, friendly and professional. He executed all of our orders with a TEE! I wish I got his name. Kudos to the staff at this location. Clean establishment with great ambiance. Definitely will come back at this location. Food was delicious and service was good. Had a great experience. The double patty burger was excellent! It also came with fries but can substitute it with soup, salad, sweet potatoes or veggies.

I looked at their website and saw they have Happy Hour 7 days a week. Sold! We met there at 5pm and still had 1.5 hours of HH left. We each got a $7 cocktail plus chicken strips and fries for $9 (I also got a pint of Coors Light for $3). The drinks were good as was the food. Where can you get a cocktail and meal for $16 these days!? I also signed up on their rewards club on the app. For doing that, I got a FREE order of chips, salsa and guacamole. Such a deal! Knowing they have great deals 7 days a week I will probably start going here more often.

The food is typical pizza, wings, etc sports-bar type of food, so for kids birthday parties, it's enough. They do have alcoholic drinks if you want some of that, and they have a lot of screens for watching sports games. They have an arcade there, but from my understanding after speaking with the staff, they don't actually own/run it. It's an outside company. So if there are issues with the machines, they can't really help you. Their cut-the-rope game is on a very high difficulty, meaning payout doesn't occur as often, so maybe not have the kids play that. There are a few other arcade games and claw machines, but when we went, two machines were broken so the kids were all bunched up on other machines. There's a lack of supervision over in the arcade which resulted in some chaotic moments. There would be several 7 year olds working together to LIFT and TIP OVER the claw machine to try to win the prizes, which was insanely dangerous and should have been stopped by the staff. I did make a short mention of saying "hey, that is dangerous to do" but there is no incentive for anyone to listen to a stranger... it has to come from the staff. So don't leave your kids alone, especially if they are on the younger side, at the arcade. The machines aren't bolstered down so you don't know what's going on if you aren't in viewing distance from it.
