Haven't been for a while and got home a little later then usual so wife suggested Sizzler as it's close by. It was very good and service was excellent. When I went to pay I thought it gave me the option of 10 percent but it was $10 dollars . Not very clear. They close at 8:30pm and around 8pm one of the employees started vacuuming the carpet. It was a huge backpack type vacuum. Very noisy. They started on the far side of the restaurant and worked toward the salad bar where we were sitting near by. It got so my wife and I could hardly talk. Very rude of the employee and very incompetent of the management to allow that. We were not the only ones in the restaurant, either. Won't go back that late every again. Will pick somewhere else. read more

I walked up to counter and WAITED for him to acknowledge me. He turned around finally and said "yes". I said I would like to order.. And we're they open. Sizzler has been a staple on the California coast well before many of the chains we frequent today came to be. But despite this, many of the Sizzler locations have been dwindling in the past few years. I personally have not been to a Sizzler since the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why I was interested in giving them a try after noticing a location in Los Alamitos. Coming in on a Monday afternoon around 12:30PM, I was surprised to see a decent crowd of people eating in. Although the restaurant wasn't packed full, it was lively enough to make a fun eating atmosphere. The eating experience was just the same as I remembered it from the past: View the menu on the wall, place your order at the registers at the front of the restaurant, and select a table in the dining room. Sizzler still has the variety of choices you'd come to expect like their Malibu Chicken and Steak and Lobster. However, I decided to fall back on Sizzler's Unlimited Salad Bar which was $14.99 at the time of this review. Of course for a buffet-style meal, price to portion becomes more irrelevant than if eating a la carte. However, there is great value in Sizzler's Salad Bar that makes it a hidden gem even today. Salad Bar prices can range based on which day of the week and whether you go for lunch or dinner, which is why lunch on a weekday is the best time to go. For 15 dollars, there were many pre-mixed salads, a customizable salad section, a few hot soups, a hot appetizer bar, a selection of fruits, a few dessert trays, and a soft-serve machine. In fact, there were so many options on the buffet that I did not get to try everything. If looking for quantity for one of the lowest prices around, the price to portion ratio is very good! As for the quality, it's exactly what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. In other words, it was actually better than I remembered before! From the soups I tried, I found the clam chowder to be the best as it was creamy and had a decent amount of clam inside. As for the salads, the Strawberry Fields Salad with almonds and cranberry raisins was a favorite. But should you want to create your own salad, the selection of vegetables were fresh. Over at the hot bar, I was only able to stomach the fried chicken wings and buffalo popcorn chicken. But for these items, they were very delicious! Both had a light coating, the batter was seasoned with pepper, and the chicken inside was moist and well cooked. Be sure to grab a plate of both as they tend to run out fast. As for the dessert, I tried both the banana pudding and cookies and cream "cheesecake" on the buffet. And to that end, both were quite light and easy to palette. I wasn't sure what I was thinking skipping out on Sizzler until now! At fifteen dollars for an all-you-can-eat lunch in 2024, it's very hard complain about what you're getting. In addition, there is a large variety for different appetites and the food quality was above par. Those being said, its clear that Sizzler's salad bar is a hidden gem that continues to earn 5 stars. Don't sleep on Sizzler if looking to fill up on some American comfort food or are looking to eat lots for a smaller price tag. read more

Hawaii closed all Sizzler, so when we passed by and saw this we HAD to come here! We came on Veterans Day so there was a good amount of people but we ordered right away and sat down. We got the trio which comes with steak chicken and shrimp, steak and lobster, and a burger and we had to all get the unlimited salad bar! For 3 of us and all of our entrees + unlimited salad bar it came out to just under $100 which is pretty good considering we got steak and lobster dishes. We had a nice server that checked up on us and got us refills and new plates. I have to say tho, the young male cashier that takes your order up front was pretty over his job. Right before us, we overheard him having a dispute with a customer in front of us and I felt it was handled pretty poorly and you could tell it affected his mood when he had to take our order. Regardless, the price for our food was good, there was someone constantly cleaning and refilling the salad bar, and our server was very sweet. The Sizzler restaurant in Los Alamitos is clean and pleasant with staff who are professional and courteous. But I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, as I would all other Sizzlers for this reason: its salad bar. I would recommend the entrees, because the food is good with competitive prices. However, the salad bar is not very good and it is overpriced; it is not what it used to be, i.e., the quality of the food at the salad bar has gone down while the price has gone up. The price is currently $16.99 and there are less choices than in the past: less pastas, less salad toppings, less choices of dressings, and only one choice of ice cream cone (vanilla). The ice cream is watered down (ice milk) and the quality of the other choices has gone down. But like I stated earlier, I still recommend Sizzler for the entree meals, but I won't be ordering the salad bar anymore; it's not what it used to be. read more

We went on a Sunday morning. I ordered the 8 ounce sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. Baked potato with butter, sour cream, and chives was so good! I loved the salad bar and the large variety of salads and toppings. Soups and taco bar! Also included in the salad bar is the dessert bar. The best brownies I've ever eaten! Our server was very attentive and ordering was very easy even with our big group. We definitely will be going back. read more

If I could put negative stars I would. I don't know how this place is still open, the food is absolutely disgusting. We went for my mother in law's birthday because she specifically wanted Sizzler. She ordered grilled shrimp and steak, but the shrimp was raw and smelled like the ocean (there were t even grill marks on the shrimp). My husband got the steak and fried shrimp and his steak was so chewy he had to spit it out because he physically couldn't chew it to swallow. I ordered the steak medium and it was brought to me well done. I sent it back and got another steak, half was well done and half was rare. The meat was so full of fat I couldn't eat it. It was also grayish in color and was so over salted it was disgusting. We got a $7 refund on the raw shrimp but spent $109 on the food we didn't eat. read more

My dad comes every Sunday after service at Cottonwood Church to have lunch and I have witnessed their treatment of him just to be one of an old time friendship. Customer service: 0/10. Food: 6/10. We arrived at 7:30pm, restaurant closes at 9pm. The first thing the employees at the front counter, including the manager on duty, said upon us entering "Just so you know, we close at 8:30". Not "hi", not "Welcome to Sizzler" no pleasantries at all. Immediately we felt unwelcome. Despite feeling unwelcome, we were hungry and decided to stay. We have heard good remarks from friends about Sizzler's steaks and wanted to try it for ourselves. After placing our order, we are seated and the server bring us our drinks and salad bar plates. The first thing she says, "everyone just so you know, we close at 8:30". She did not tell us her name or even greet us before making sure we knew we only had an hour to eat our meal. She continued her poor performance through the night by not checking on us once our food was delivered. Overall, this experience was highly disappointing. The only things that salvaged our experience was Maria, a different server who assisted us through the night, and the very good cheese toast. Maria was very helpful and attentive. She deserves recognition for her great customer service. Sizzler Corporate, Your closing shift employees on 1/19/25, except Maria, have no ability to provide hospitality to guests. Your manager on duty that night, joins the employees in being unwelcoming. I watched him stand at the front counter for most of our time there, simply chatting with employees. Never once did he walk the dining room and greet any guests nor make any efforts to assist his staff. Additionally, the majority of the employees began circling the salad bar area around 8:15 with carts and cleaning supplies, making their presence known to all guests and indicating that it was time for guests to leave. I know this is not your guest service philosophy. You should be concerned about the lack of management at this location. There is one person that stands out and that person is Beverly a senior citizen who does a remarkable job of keeping the customers happy filling their requests for plates, ice tea, and other items. Steak was raw after asking for medium doneness. Had to return me and my son's steak. A little annoying. But what sealed the deal for us to never return to this sizzler, my wife found a spoon a the bottom of the soup. As she was serving herself some of the beef and vegetables soup, she noticed a spoon submerged. We notified our waiter who confirmed there was a spoon at the bottom and asked the lady tending the salad bar to remove it. If I'm the manager I'm removing the whole kettle of soup, but noooo she just removed the loose spoon that was drowning in the beef and vegetables soup. I watched this all go down. My waiter I believe also noticed and didn't even return to our table to check on us. People continued to get soup out of there. Gross. Hopefully no one gets sick. read more

We went to the sizzler in los Alamitos for my dad's birthday dinner. I had the lime Barramundi with rice and grilled zucchini I also ordered a Baked potato. The barramundi was excellent and flaky the rice was a tad on the dry side but had I known that the baked potato was the size of a silver dollar and the cost was just shy of $9.00 I would have opted for the salad bar. Our waitress was Maria and she was very attentive to our tables needs always asking on how things were and if we were enjoying our dinner. My late husband and I ate at the Corona Sizzler regularly. Always good food and service. After he passed away, in 2017, I had my 70th birthday lunch there with 25 lady friends. We enjoyed it so much we went back in 2018, and 2019. It was closed for Covid after that. In 2022 we were going back for my annual birthday lunch. I was told it would be $50 to use half the back room. I reluctantly paid. They made good money on 25 lunches and everyone tipped well. No one knew I'd paid the room charge. The following year, 2023, I decided not to go there and pay them $50. We went somewhere else, and it was excellent, with no room charge. In 2024, I had health issues so there was no birthday lunch. This year, 2025, I hope to have my lunch again, but not at The Sizzler. You only rip me off once. I'll go occasionally with a friend for lunch or dinner, but never again with a large party. I was in the restaurant business for 27 years, and in the 1980's I remember charging a $25 room fee, at a very high end restaurant. We ordered two Tri Tip Sirlon 6 oz steaks. I ask the waitress for barbecue sauce instead of A1 Sauce & fresh decaf so-she gave me the look and never smiled. We got our steaks and they were so tough that I couldn't eat mine . My husband had a difficult time eating his. I sent my steak back which cost $16.95 and manger gave me half my money back with rude remarks. I couldn't understand him because his English wasn't that good so he got upset about that. If you are really hungry and don't really care about taste or temperature, this is the place for you. The cold stuff is not cold enough, and the hot stuff is not hot enough. Salad bar was clean, but the mask wearing is not enforced. I saw a child about 3 yrs old at the salad bar, touching everything while mom was unmasked and not paying attention. The server was friendly. All staff were masked. There are signs to wear masks, but only a few people could read. I used to like this location, not so much now. read more

My husband and I had lunch there today. Ordered the Burgundy mushroom tips, Double Malibu Chicken and added salad bar. When we received our meal my husband noticed on one of his Malibu Chicken had a hair baked on top of it. So, he took it up to counter and said did you give me something special? The women looked at it and pulled out a long piece of plastic. My husband in shock pointed out the hair in disbelief there was also plastic in his meal. He declined another plate and said he just wanted a refund. I will tell you after seeing his food I couldn't eat my meal was pretty grossed out. I didn't say anything just couldn't trust eating it. The waitress went to speak with manager and she came to table and placed money on table that was on a tray. I looked and they refunded is $8.00 when the double Malibu I believe was $16.99. I questioned her about refund and she said that is what manager said to refund since my husband ate his salad. Instead of haggling with manager we just left pretty hungry after disgusted after paying over $35.00 oh minus $8.00. Nothing registered on the "Wow" meter, but it was a filling lunch, all the more better being free. Service was okay. It seemed the attendants were understaffed, as I waited a while for drink refills. TERRIBLE STAFF & CUSTOMER SERVICE. Never attending this location. Ordered a meal online. Got a call back 5mins after I ordered. I was advised this location couldn't make my burger the way it was ordered and PAID for online. How is this my fault?! I asked for a refund since the burger couldn't be made the way requested online. I was directed to cancel online by Martin the employee that works at Sizzler. Tried canceling online. Was NOT able too. Called back and Martin the RULE employee told me to his location couldn't do anything about the refund. Meanwhile the funds were withdrawn from my account. Martin started getting mad at me when I expressed calmly how upset I was about his branch not being able to give me a refund. Tried meeting in the middle and asking for a soup & salsa. Martin said NOPE its the burger or nothing. Martin then hung up on me. Called back and spoke to another employee. He gave me the # to the corporate office 949-273-4497. I left (3) voicemails & emailed the corp. office (3) times. As of today I have NOT got my refund and NO one called me back from the corp. office.
