Sizzler is kind of nostalgic for me; it was like a reward for doing something well as a child. Where i grew up , Sizzler was fine dining. Although the food seemed better when i was a kid, its not the dining that brings me here on occasion. The reason im writing this is that my server Kaitlin goes above and beyond on her attentiveness to myself and other patrons. When I arrived early, there were many parking spaces. Inside the Sizzler were many smiling faces. My E-club promo was easily accepted Never once has it been rejected. Every time we come to this sizzler we get amazing service. All staff from the ones who take your order to the ones who bring it to your table are amazing. Even the manager are on the floor to make sure if you need anything. The food is always fresh the place is always being cleaned. Salad bar is constantly being restocked. One of the best sizzlers I've been. Usually we frequent the Souplantation but hubby was like WTH am I going to wait so long to eat no meat! So I opted for this Sizzler uncertain b/c some of the reviews were a bit sketchy here. To my surprise, its completely remodeled, the layout is very spacious and well thought out and the staff keeps coming to refresh and clean up constantly. The stead and all you can shrimp was great too, I'm used to overdone and tiny but this was actually juicy and the waitress asked us if it was to our liking before actually leaving us be. Just came back from sizzlers. It was my first time at a sizzlers and its the closest one to csula. Didnt know what to expect. Our experience with apple bees and any other place that is dine in has not been well but let me say that our experience here was amazing! Our server Raul was so attentive and served us all the refills and brought us all the ranch and was just there. Thats something you don't get at these kinds of places because once you order they disappear. Highly recommend this spot because of Raul. Your going to want to tip him unlike other places where your like lets leave.. Amazing! read more

Skinny girl who is young and wears a lot of make up should be fired! She's so rude rolls her eyes- when this happened to us the second time we asked to speak to a manager- there was no manager and the guy who came to us to say there was no manager barely spoke English- he was super nice but we were surprised when he spoke not much English. Sizzler is a classic restaurant that my parents always said was for special occasions. But now that I am older I have come to realize that it is a great place to get a decent quick meal. I came here with the family and notice that the restaurant was very clean and the cashier and the other staff were very friendly. A busser even helped my youngest prepare his sundae because he has height restrictions and his older brother was too hungry to help him finish making his dessert. Three of us ordered the salad bar and with all the hot items on there it was exactly what I needed for my lunch. My wife and son ordered steak and they were pleasantly surprised that they were very tasty and well prepared. It's not my favorite place in the world, but I go here relatively often, so I thought that merited a Yelp entry. The dishes look better in the photos, naturally, but when it's in front of you, the quantity is much less than what you paid for. I suppose that is an unspoken law of the restaurant business-- the more you pay, the less food you get. That's why I usually get the endless salad bar, which is $10.99; however, if you add it to a main plate, it's only $4.99. Today I ordered the grilled salmon plate and added the endless salad bar because I imagined it would be a small little piece of salmon. Yeha, Sizzler.....Its the poor mans Ruth Chris'. I like this place, its clean, the service is great. I really liked a waiter there, he was in his late 50's or so, very friendly and wow did he pay attention to detail. I was also extremely happy with the apparent freshness of the Salad Bar, they had awesome new flavors and ingredients I rarely see on the east side of LA too much. I saw alot of healthy alternatives like, Kale Asian Salads, Three Bean salad, Carrot Bacon salad, Spinach Strawberry and many more types of flavors that I couldn't get enough of. By the time my entree of sirloin tips in mushroom sauce with rice pilaf, I was ready to bag it, but not before one skewer of course! Love my guilty pleasure, the chicken wings and hot sauce. The menudo smelled pretty good but I went for the Beef Stew, to see if it might compare to mine but I still hold the crown there because they dont STOP USING CANNED INGREDIENTS. Please dont ruin the flavor and make fresh broth or stewed tomatoes because it ruins the ingredients that are fresh. Otherwise, the experience was good. The portions are awesome when choosing the value menu, but other than that, they need to match the portions with the prices (that just recently went up.) We always order the buffet lunch special. There are so many different items to choose from, and they are all very delicious. We especially enjoy their menudo, carnitas and salad bar. The soft-serve ice cream is top notch, too, and the wait staff is very attentive and efficient. This is one of the better Sizzler's in town. We went as a family group of 8 to celebrate my father in-law's birthday a few days ago. 3 of us had to send our food back because it wasn't cooked properly, the waiter was very nice but his service was SO slow which I think was due to his co-workers, 1 of us was notified by the waiter when her plate was brought out that the cook said a particular food item had run out so he took it upon himself to replace it with his choice of food rather than letting the diner pick, it was expensive and not worth it at all. We were all disappointed because it was all of our 1st time going to this location since it had opened in Montebello and shocked because there isn't a day that goes by that their parking lot isn't packed and overflowing to the lot across the street. If this is what Montebello thinks is good food and service, our fellow citizens need foodie guidance. read more

Went In for the salad bar and didnt disappoint. Everything was being refilled and kept clean, loved the menudo! Best part was our service was great our server was Michael by the time we came to sit down our drinks and bread were waiting! I hadn't been to a Sizzler since 2002 and my last experience wasn't a good one at all. So I was kinda hesitant to return to a Sizzler again, but my family wanted to go there, so I went along. And I gotta be honest...it was MUCH better than I remembered it being! The service was fast and friendly, the staff was great, the restaurant was spotless inside/outside, the prices were good, the food was good and I actually might go back sometime. My only gripes are the portions (pretty small steak) and the tiny parking lot. (it gets full quickly) But overall, I was pleasantly surprised and I might return someday in the near future, kudos Sizzler! (the hair plug infomercials playing on all the TV's the entire time we were there was a bit odd) read more

The food was good, but the service was terrible!! Was told that our drinks would be brought to our table...it was....a good 15 minutes if not longer. Not busy when we got there at 1130...lunch rush busy but not bad. We asked and never got refills on our drinks. Asked again for a clean plate...got one. THEN when we left I had bites on my legs!! First time I have been to a Sizzler since the 80s as a kid in Indiana. It was good, the price was reasonable and the service was great! The waiter was very attentive but not annoying. Husband had steak and salad bar and I had salad bar. Absolutely no complaints about anything. Food was fresh and even the pineapple was freshly cut which surprised me! We are such picky eaters that to get a good review from us is rare. read more

Had a horrible dinner date with my boyfriend here. We came out feeling disappointed, wishing we had never spent the money we spent. We vowled never to come back. The food was terrible. I dont understand how you can mess up oven bake patatoes. They were the worst tasting patatoes ever! I recommend to AVOID them!!! I got a steak, it tasted like a $5 dollar frozen steak. Tasteless no seasoning and dry. I only got to 2 bites and I had it removed from the table. Next time l'm better off going to Applebees for their 2 for 20 deal. read more

The friendly and hard working service by the waiters are the only good thing left about this Sizzler in Montebello. After living in this city for 36 years and dining regularly at this establishment since 1979 I have seen all the changes first hand. Ever since the newest manager took over the food, prices and customer service has declined so much that I will never go back. Constant changes and extreme discourtesy are the new business plan in place today. Good luck if you go, you might get lucky and have a good experience like some of the bloggers have.
