We had a birthday party for my daughter turning 11 with a big group and it was a fabulous time. They had a little arcade with a slide area for kids with a coin change machine in outside eating area. They had so much fun. We had pizza, chicken wings, salad, all tasty. Food didn't take long. When waking in to the back seating area we were greeted by one of the pizza makers, so friendly. I've had the pizza multiple times, and it's fantastic. They're generous with the toppings and cheese which I love. However, the second time I ordered from them, I also got a salad for my mother, which nobody in the house except her consumed. She became very ill that night and was vomiting and had diarrhea. Nobody else got sick because none of us touched the salad, so I doubt it's a weird coincidence. They also gave the door dasher the wrong order (we got someone's garlic bread initially and that's it), but they rectified the mixup after several additional minutes of waiting. This place is a hidden gem, tucked around the corner, a step back in time in the best of ways! The pizza is delicious, as is the chopped salad. It has an old school vibe, with a warm and clean atmosphere. The kids love the playground and games. Alyssa and Jose are two of their AMAZING staff members! Not just because their food is good , but the customer service from Andy is always on point. Even when we come as the last customer of the night, he treats us with the same gentle hand as if we were a first guest of the day. He never rushed us, checked on my som repeatedly, and remembered me from the previous time. As we paid, he even said that it would be ok if we stayed to "tire out" the little one. The wife and I decided to come here after hearing rumors that they have a pizza that is known to induce labor. My wife was pretty close to her due date at the time and was desperate to get our daughter out of her! Of course, my wife ordered "The Prego Pizza" in hopes that it would induce her labor. It was covered with mountains of ingredients and it looked incredibly delicious. Despite the fact that my wife was eating for two, she let me try a bite and I was not disappointed. My wife on the other hand was disappointed because the pizza unfortunately failed to induce her labor. However, I would like to point out that my wife and I came here a few weeks before our daughter's expected arrival, so the premature visit likely played a factor in the pizza failing. Anyways, in addition to "The Prego Pizza" we ordered "Skip's Dip" and it was delicious as well. It was served with warm/hot bread and I was tempted to fill up completely on the bread and dip alone. Luckily I decided not to and had the opportunity to eat some of their flavorful pepperoni pizza. Overall, their pizzas are a bit messy, but the taste of the ingredients involved is worth it and you can't beat their crust! Additionally, the layout here is relatively open with heated outdoor seating available. It is very family friendly and perfect for a nice family dinner. Our service was decent and we never felt forgotten about. The food here is smidge on the pricey side considering it's a pizza place, but you have to take into consideration your location. I want to start this review off by saying how disappointing this pizzeria was as this was my first time trying Skipolini's after being told it was good. first off a medium size pizza & traditional wings alone for pickup were $50?!. For that price i was certain the pizza and wings were going to be the best i have tried. My family was asked if we would sit outside because the inside was pretty busy. We said fine but only if they would turn on heat lamps. They said okay. We legit asked 6 people over 30 minutes to turn on the heat lamp. The 6th finally followed through. Seriously. The server we ended up with was great after a couple mishaps right off the bat (long wait for him to show up at first, heat lamp issues, wine bottle left at the table unopened for quite awhile before we flagged him down). UNTRUSTWORTHY! I was promised an induction-causing pizza and my wife is still pregnant four days later!! We made the trek from San Francisco out to Walnut Creek looking for relief. The 50 stories on the website of women eating the pizza and going into labor within 24 hours seemed as good as medical research to me, but I was left with nothing but a deliciously garlicky pizza and another week of waiting. I randomly heard about the pregnate pizza. I was eight days overdue and desperately to go into labor (without medical intervention). I tried all possible natural method on the book but nothing worked! we went to lunch with my husband on Thursday, that night I went into labor and gave birth on Friday noon. Came to Skipolini to order the infamous pregnant pizza for the wife . We heard this pizza helps with inducing labor and as odd as it sounds we wanted to try out anything to help with inducing . The preggo pizza had a strong smell of oregano and was fixed with so many different meat toppings . We also added pineapple as we heard pineapples can help induce labor . I tried the pizza as I was curious of the taste and It was quite good . The crust and breading was soft and baked perfectly . The several topics didn't over power each other . Would I say the pregnancy pizza works ? Made the drive from the South Bay to Skipolini's just for the Prego pizza and two days later, we found out that we're 4cm dilated during a routine OB a appointment and was told to check in at the hospital. Coincidence, maybe? But overall, the pizza was really good. Good amount of toppings and a soft, thick crust. Extra garlicky and baby boy was kicking like no tomorrow that evening. Lastly, customer service was awesome (shout out to Jose at the register). Food came out timely, received a cute onesie for baby boy, and Jose was polite and courteous. I'm definitely a sucker for customer service so overall, it was a great visit and look forward to visiting again with the new addition to our family while he rocks his Skipolini's onesie. My friend referred me to this place due to their reputation of having the preggo pizza. Out of desperation at 39 weeks, I had it delivered and ate it faithfully at least once a day for 3 days (the small size lasted that long). Sadly, it did not send me into labor, but it did trigger some more contractions. It was still worth a try and the idea was kind of fun. Aside from that I'm in month 9 of my pregnancy and decided to try to prego pizza... yall , I had been having small contractions throughout my day after walking but within a hour of eating the pizza I was getting stronger ones. Anyhow.. so the only pizza I have tried from here is the preggo so my review is limited. So far the pizza is good. Tons of toppings on there and strong oregano spices on there. I also ate it with ranch dressing and siriacha for some extra spice! I picked up the pizza during lunch time and it wasn't busy in the restaurant. A couple weeks ago, I had 30 hungry people to feed so I decided to get pizzas from Skipolini's. I ordered the following a day before: - 2 Prego pizzas (their specialty all-meat pizza); - 2 Combo pizzas (salami/pepperoni/mushroom/olives/bell peppers/onions/sausage/ground beef); - 2 Creamy Pesto pizzas (pesto sauce/mushroom/onion/zucchini/artichoke hearts/bacon); - 2 Chicken Pepperonado pizzas (pesto sauce/artichoke hearts/chicken/red and yellow bell peppers); - 1 Greek pizza (pesto/olives/red onions/mushrooms/red and yellow bell peppers/chicken/Feta cheese). I tried them all and they were all pretty good (I was one of the 30 hungry people!). The pizza crust was slight thick in my opinion, but I am sure someone likes that. I highly recommend the Chicken Pepperonado. In my opinion, it's probably the best out of the group. The crew there was very helpful. I got my pizzas on time. There's a pickup spot right outside the restaurant which made picking my order very easy. If you want to dine in, I'd suggest you park at the public garage a block away on Locust Street. We came here for a birthday party with about 6 kids and 13 adults. They sat us outside, in the rain but under a tent, but it had heater lamps which was awesome. Inside the restaurant had the ambiance like a pizza parlor; it was dark, spacious, and you can see them making some of your pizzas. The outside is where they put the large parties, and it is very kid friendly as it had some arcades and a small playground. Pizza = meh. It was doughy, and the toppings was nothing spectacular. We ordered cheese only, pepperoni, Pesto, and the prego. Probably the best tasting was the cheese because it was just so simple; the pepperoni had sparse pepperoni; the pesto wasn't too flavorful, and the ingredients was also sparse; and the preggo was like meh, nothing special. We also had a Caesar salad prior to our pizzas arriving, and it was really nothing to make a note of. I will say the bathroom is kept clean, and our waitress was nice. I'm a long time resident of Walnut Creek and this is in my opinion of the best pizza place in town. All the ingredients are always very fresh and the pizza just has that magical quality that makes it great. This is on top of the fact that the lunch special is the absolute hands-down best value in this entire town and perhaps any town around here. You get a small Caesar salad, garlic bread, a slice of pizza from their largest pie and a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. All you have to do is buy a drink and you have enough food to feed two people. The combo slice literally weighs almost a pound. Always quick and efficient with their service. I mostly got delivery orders but come in every once in awhile for lunch. Great for the kids if they have a small arcade in the back patio and a fully covered lunch area out there as well.
