We visit Pigeon Forge regularly and try to keep an eye out for local coffee shops. We found Smoky Mountain Espresso during this last trip while using the road it's on to cut behind Pigeon Forge. We ended up visiting several times during our trip and even raced across town to get some coffee on our way home. The frozen drinks are absolutely incredible! We have tried a few of them, but our favorite is definitely the Turtle Mocha. It's sweet and chocolatey, yet still has a strong mocha flavor. We always go through the drive thru when we stop here, but our interactions with the baristas have been pleasant. They were nice and friendly even when we arrived right before closing. It's not the fastest coffee shop, so be prepared to wait a little bit if you aren't the only in the drive thru or if there are a lot of people inside. When we were the only ones in the drive thru, we got our drinks fairly quickly. We'll definitely visit every time we take a trip to Pigeon Forge and we wish we had a Smoky Mountain Espresso back home! read more

We love getting coffee on the road. While in Pigeon Forge, we passed this place on a way out to hike and noted it for later. We ended up not finishing until around 8, so options were limited. SME was still with their light on even though their Yelp said they were closed! The 2 girls working were very kind and took care of us, without seeming offput! We got 2 caramel pecan lattes hot to go and while we were there, we decided to just go ahead and grab some ground to go for our machine at home as well as snacks for the road. We were ecstatic to find that these were amazing and we were so happy we bought more to go! It was rich in good flavor and subtley sweetened not to over power the coffee flavor! If I could give a zero I would. Their only concern is drive thru customers. If you go in they ignore you then keep their back to you so they don't have to acknowledge you and when you leave...they wave goodbye. Most acknowledgment we got the whole time. Never again. read more

My husband and I wanted to get away from the main drag and all the tourist traps, so I found this place on yelp. It is a short drive outside of Pigeon Forge. I am a self diagnosed coffee addict, so I'm always excited to try a new coffee shops that locals love. I got a pumpkin latte, which was very good. My husband got the smoky mountain mocha, which was better than my latte. I don't usually like mocha's because they are too sweet, but this one was absolutely perfect. It was very well-balanced and he enjoyed it a lot. We even tried to go back a second time when I was looking for a good cup of coffee, but we were stuck in traffic in Gatlinburg, and decided not to venture that far from our hotel again. 10/10 I would go back! read more

Went there twice and both times, the atmosphere was dead, temperature of room was was cold. No lit fire, inside or out. No coffee house music. Baristas, if you want to call them that need help hearing, had to repeat order twice. When we got our drinks, Chai tea latte was scolding hot, burned tongue and couldn't drink for 10 minutes. This is a cute place to go hangout. There's an outside area and a couch and plenty of tables inside. The blended coffee was decent. I got some kind of frozen mocha, I don't remember the exact name. Only complaint is it was reeeeally sweet and the coffee flavor was kind of lost. I personally didn't think it really tasted like mocha either. The drizzled the cup with some kind of syrup like caramel or butterscotch, not really sure, but it overpowered everything else. Still worth a try though. read more

I really give this place a three and a half stars. It is cozy. Has a great indoor and outdoor place to sit and drink your coffee and relax. There is a Sweet Frog attached to the coffee place. Nicely decorated. The service was good. They had dairy alternatives. If you look for that in your coffee choice, this is the place to go. However, I ordered a regular coffee and it just didn't have the strong flavor I like. I didn't ask for espresso so I'm sure that would have given it a kick. But I don't normally need that shot of espresso at my usual coffee shop at home, so I was disappointed. For that, I give a 3 and a 1/2. But their blueberry muffin was delicious! read more

The lady at the counter was very friendly. She was honest with what ingredients they used to make the drinks. She did get one of our drinks wrong (it was vanilla instead of peanut butter) but it still tasted really good. I got a wild berry smoothie and she did tell us they used syrup and showed us the actual bottle they use with the ingredients (none of them were actually berries; it was artificial). Hello, my review is hopefully informative for the owner/supplier. There is no cream in the coffee shop, a coffee needs cream, not milk. Please get cream for customers. Also, the efficiency of this coffee shop lacks a bit. We were informed while ordering I could have a coffee with cream and our items were available. After ordering and payment, we were told there was no cream, the store didn't carry cream and our order could not be fulfilled because it would take 8 mins to make coffee. come on.
