Over the years I have gone to various Snuffers. The marinated chicken strips are always delicious and today was no exception. Of course the cheese fries are a must for any one. We kept the jalapeños and chives and bacon on the side to please everyone. Delicious. However the service was average at best with no one willing to stop to see if you needed anything such as a refill. The reason for the three stars was actually the ladies room. Just had a wonderful lunch. The food came out efficiently and without any problems, just like we ordered, and each person got what they ordered without the "food auction" that is so prevalent in today's restaurants. The restaurant was packed for lunch, and the servers were running around keeping all the customers happy, and the restaurant was clean - tables cleared and cleaned as soon as the party left. We were invited for lunch and thought it would be okay. The service was good but we didn't appreciate the following: Food was excessively salty, greasy and not our idea of clean and healthy. Seems they have some kinks to work out. Today we went for lunch. It wasn't very busy but it took 45 minutes to get our food. All 3 burgers came out missing toppings or with toppings they shouldn't have had. We were also missing our Large Cheese Fries, which the waitress apologized for and said "they'd be right out". We finished our burgers before they came out, so we declined them. We watched several cheese fries come and go to other customers - not sure why they couldn't have been redirected to us. Went here for lunch today. The waitress was nice and the decor comfortable. The burgers were delicious but the fries were a little cold, we also ordered fried onions and they were not very good. Too much batter and way too hard. They were also pretty cold. We had fried mushrooms as well. They were actually pretty good. All in all a nice visit but not outstanding. I must admit, I'm a bit of a cheese fries snob. There's so many places that just get it complete wrong by using straw fries, or gloopy cheese. Snuffer's gets it perfect. I love those slightly soggy fries and plenty of cheese on top, and they weren't stingy with the toppings of bacon and jalapenos either. The beer and glass were nice and old, and so was the building which is really my only complaint. When you're sitting there and not moving around, it does get really cold. Service was fast and friendly though I did ask for "extra extra" ranch for the two of us and we only received two. I find their ranch very thin and it can be hard to get it to stay on the fries and not all drip off all over the place. Overall, great food, beer, and atmosphere, just prefer it not as frigid cold inside and thicken that ranch up. read more

My family and I went to Snuffer's a few nights ago the wait would have been 20-30 mins if we sat inside or we could sit on the patio right then, which we did. It was nice out and not to noisy like inside. It took forever for our server to come to us, but I figure that's because he wasn't notified. Once he arrived he was super nice! We ordered right away and he made sure to get our drinks out along with waters for those who didn't order alcohol. We thought that was thoughtful! Justin our server was very attentive and kept us happy the entire time even taking time out to just talk and get to know us. The food was delicious and even better the second day as left overs! Went there for a late lunch yesterday. The kitchen was short staffed and backed up. They advised us so we could make a choice which I really appreciated since many would have sat us and then we'd just waited. I got the green chili cheeseburger and my son got the classic plus the loaded cheese fries. My burger was cooked just right...moist and tasty. The bun was soft and fresh. Just the right amount of green chili's and pepper jack. Nice bite but not overdone. Son's burger was also done as requested and cheese fries were done well but not overloaded. Service was attentive. Cheese fries always an A+ and burgers a solid B+ but the chicken sandwiches are a C- at best. They all seem to keep getting smaller and smaller. The regular chicken sandwich is about half the size it used to be, and the buffalo chicken sandwich 'breast' pieces are about 1/8 inch thick. Very disappointing. In addition, the service at this location has been really slow the last few times we've eaten there, even when it isn't busy - I don't get it... I'll always return for the cheese fries, but I hope they can step up their game on the sandwich and service front! read more

Honest question for managers and owners, why do you schedule things so your bartender has to leave the bar for any reason? Do you have the people cooking the burgers leave the kitchen to wait tables? Then why do you demand it of the bartenders? Sat at the bar for lunch counter service. Waited while bartender had to make 4 margaritas in a single blender. Then she had to take them to a table and then began taking orders for various tables. Meanwhile glasses were empty. People at bar were looking around. Penny wise and pound foolish. What is the margin on a $7 draft versus a $10 burger? It's lunch time and somewhere between call-ahead takeout and table service is the bar counter. It's about service and speed. read more

A popular fixture in the DFW area, these places were essential at all stages of life: first dates, drinks with friends, company happy hours, etc. But after years of downtime and with a newly reopened location, does Snuffer's still succeed? No rose-tinted glasses are needed to answer that; it's just as good as you remember. For the uninitiated and people living deprived lives, Snuffer's is a casual restaurant and bar that specializes in outstanding burgers and equally impressive dishes. Some people even believe their legendary cheese fries are the key to world peace, as science has proven it is impossible to be in anything less than a state of perpetual euphoria while eating them, either by yourself or with a mass of other diners who are clamoring for their own handful of Heaven. The locations are populated with booths and communal tables, plus a bar that has never met a stranger. And this newest location is no different. Located in a corner lot, and sporting a patio that looks surprisingly spacious, this Snuffer's is far larger than it may initially appear. When we walked in, I was amazed at how far back the main dining room goes. You enter into the bar area, while the main dining room extends the length of the wall to your left. The kitchen is also back here and despite all the activity and the always classic rock soundtrack pumping through the speakers, you will not have a hard time hearing the party you came in with, as well as how much Rick Springfield really does love Jessie's girl. We were seated in the first booth right off the entrance, which means everyone walking in had a direct line of vision with my smiling face, a prospect that can be capable of both bringing in customers or scaring them away in fear of whatever shoes I'm wearing. Our server, Alex, was amazing. She was so friendly and engaging that she was able to relate effortlessly with our table's wide range of ages, from 63 down to 6. Couple her personality with efficiency and quick service, and she was an absolute gem of a server. The rest of the team more than carried their weight, as well. Not once was anyone at our table in need of a refill or a bussed plate, and while there were a lot of folks standing around trying to look busy on a Monday night, they all were prompt and courteous with their service. But what of the food? If you are a lifetime Snuffer's fan, you know what to expect, and have probably stopped reading four paragraphs ago. But if this is your first visit, well, you're in for a treat. Their burgers are rightfully held atop a proverbial pedestal, and there is some concoction involving BBQ and Dr. Pepper that I imagine I will eat at some point when I want to see how much of a mess I can make. Their spicy chicken strips have been a considerable source of sustenance for me in Addison, Dallas and now Plano going on upwards of 20 years, and for my nephew, their quesadillas are amazing - he's kind of a connoisseur when it comes to those in his six years of dining, and I trust his recommendation. And we have already touched on the greatness that is the cheese fries. (Seriously, you can believe all the hype those things have earned over the years.) With a casual environment, a menu that never fails to impress, service that is fantastic and a price point that will not bankrupt you, there is a lot to recommend when it comes to Snuffer's. I've been eating at Snuffer's for a few years now and was disappointed when the Plano location closed down, so when the new location opened up this was great news. All though I'm not a huge fan of the burgers I'm a huge fan of the cheese fries with all the toppings, so good! The new location is very nice, set it up great, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. As a member of the email club you'll receive great offers on many of their menu items. I recently dined in to redeem a free appetizer, service was quick, item came out quickly but I did not expect what I received. I ordered some small fries and buffalo wings. The fries were hot and delicious, the wings extremely disappointing. Not only were they the tiniest, smallest amount, and chewy boneless wings I've ever received at Snuffer's. This isn't the norm so I was quite surprised. Will I go back, yes, but I don't think I'll order the same thing. My wife has decade-old fond memories of the loaded cheese fries here so we decided to stop by. The loaded fries aren't unique, elevated or complex... and they don't pretend they're healthy either. They are simply a delicious basket of fries covered in cheese, bacon, chives, and a few jalapeños. We also got burgers, the prominent meal on the menu. I had the Dr Pepper BBQ bacon burger which had a delightful tangy sweet flavor to it. It had really good layers of texture with the bacon, diced red onions and the patty which had a really good char. The buns are covered with poppyseeds but they didn't impact the taste much positively or negatively. They also serve beer here although it feels like an afterthought. While most places nowadays are making an effort of having ice cold beer, I felt like their draft was close to room temperature. Our server was friendly and seemed knowledgeable despite this location only recently opening. The table seemed older than the restaurant though which was weird, like they had brought them over from an older location rather than ordering new ones. They were clean but still had that light stickiness to it. Loaded cheese fries, two burgers, a couple beers, and tip was $50. read more

I Love this new location for Snuffer's. Great design with an outdoor patio and a bar with counter service. Lots of booths and high tops make it great for families. We visited as a part of their soft opening. The staff is fabulous & the kitchen was well run. We began our meal with fried mushrooms and a Snuffer's favorite, loaded cheese fries. Both were perfect & quickly devoured by our table. I decided to veer from my normal order of hamburger and try their new triple decker club sandwich. The sandwich featured sourdough bread turkey ham and bacon along with lettuce and tomato. Delicious sandwich! It is as so filling, I could only eat half of it. Our table also ordered the footlong hotdog with chili , the fried jalapeño burger and a Swiss mushroom burger. The burgers were cooked to order & came out just as requested. We finished the meal with hand crafted milkshakes. Real ice cream made these shakes yummy. So glad to have a Snuffer's back in this area of Plano. We were visiting from out of town and we wanted something local. So I pulled up Yelp and checked what was near our hotel. Snuffer's was on top of the list and their menu sounded appetizing. It had great reviews so we decided to head out. Arriving to the restaurant, they were located only a few minutes away from our hotel and it was so easy to find. The hostess greeted us and sat us down fairly quickly with it being busy on a Saturday night. Once we were seated our server greeted us and got our drink orders. All the servers there were very attentive and always asked if everything was great. I ordered their Chicken Fried Steak and my husband ordered the Dr. Pepper Burger and we also ordered a side of onion strings. The portions were very large and was well presented. The food was ah-ma-zing!! This place deserves 5 stars from us and if we're ever back in town, we will definitely come back to Snuffer's! read more

Great experience tonight at Snuffer's! My boyfriend and I stopped in before going to the movies, and it happened to be $5 burger night. We both ordered a burger and one order of cheese fries (need an extra hour on the treadmill tomorrow!) Mary was our bartender/server. She was so sweet and took good care of us. Finally got up and left since no one wanted to wait on me. Love your chicken strips and usually come in once a week. But I don't think I will be back to this location. I visited this location this past Friday. I came in at 5:30pm, didn't have any issues parking, plenty of spaces available. I was seated as soon as I walked it, I was waited on by Maria, she was very prompt with everything. She never pestered me to order, as I was waiting on a friend to arrive. I ordered the large cheese fries, which you absolutely can never go wrong with there. The restaurant was started to fill up quickly, my fries were brought to the table within ten minutes. Worst service ever!! It wasn't busy when we went in 5:00 for dinner. No one came to ask for our drink order for over 15 minutes. When waiter finally came and took our order he never came back with our drink order!! It was just water too! My husband went and even said to another waiter can we please get water and never got drinks, again. And he even went passed our table too. We have been going to Plano locations for over 20 years and I know we won't be going back for awhile. If ever...sadly. Service is usually decent here, but has just gotten worse every visit. Almost 40 years of Snuffers ... first lunch date w wife, lunch w buddies day before wedding, and 2x per month for 40 years = with 3 kids let's call it 1,000 meals. We have been careful to be faithful during COVID. We called in an order. Pulled in and told them drive up was full, but we were parked in Handicap spot (legally) right next to 3 designated spots. We checked in and they had our cell number. We called again 20 minutes later. Young lady informed us that we were to park in the designated spots. We explained it was full when we pulled up 20 minutes earlier. She spent more time explaining the proper procedure and really copped an attitude. She was more interested in telling us she didn't know who the guy that took our call was and that again, it was our fault for not following procedure (still not grasping that parking was full when we pulled in and told them we were one ... 1 ... a single space over ... adjacent to the designated spots. Food was cold and mushy by time we got home. My wife said that was "IT." She's not going back to Snuffers. I'll miss those Cheddar Fries and that ranch. Customer service training seems appropriate, but if I were the manager, I'd fire her a$$ and look for better staff. read more
