So unfortunate!! Everyone loves Snuffer's for their great burgers, cheese fries and chicken tenders, but the service here is terrible. I visited last night for the third time hoping for a better result but alas, no. It took over 20 minutes for cheese fries and fried pickles to come out. Both were cold. Burgers and chicken tenders were a similar result. The last three visits have proven this location has a serious service and management problem. The server covering our table was covering numerous tables inside the restaurant as well as the entire patio. As you might expect, no refills, 20 minutes to get the check etc. in ADDITION to the cold food. The manager was busy apologizing to table after table for the poor service and cold food. Poor service is a direct result of poor management. Spend your dining dollars up the street for better service, burgers and cheese fries. read more

Right when you open the door you are hit with the smell of a dirty bar. We sat ourselves as there was no host. The table we sat out was clean, but sticky. I ordered a chicken strip salad and was surprised to see most of the lettuce in my dish was spoiled. I brought this to the attention of the server and she simply offered to bring a bowl of new lettuce. Now I had to pick lettuce from the new bowl and the rest of my salad from the original. While the prices are low, the food is bad. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Very disappointing. It's been a while since we went to Snuffer's and this one is highly underwhelming. Walked into a bright room that felt like it was filled with sterile white light. Almost seemed like a spotlight shining on everyone wherever they sat. Our server was sweet and smiled the whole time, and the cheese fries were incredible. That's where the positives end though. Steak tenders we're overcooked and the breading flaked right off. Not positive but I believe I may have been charged extra to have the fries that were supposedly included. Make sure you read the menu to see the burgers are served on a poppy seed bun. Also, what kind of bar has Bud Light on tap and not Miller Lite? While nice, our server didn't really earn the tip she got. She left my husband's drink empty for 10 minutes and wasn't able to tell me right when I tried to order it that they didn't have the beer I ordered. But hey, when we looked like we were done eating she was REALLY quick to show up with the bill. Go figure. Based on prior experiences at Snuffer's (and let's be honest... those amazing cheese fries), I'll likely make my way back to Snuffer's. Yesterday was my first time coming to the Snuffers in Plano and the food was great. Our server Dei was fantastic. She had a great sense of humor and was very engaging. Popped in for a Saturday lunch. We're newer to Plano and everyone said this place is an institution. I must say the staff was extremely friendly and that is always a plus. Tough only throwing up 3 stars as I really had high expectations going in. Our food came out somewhat cold, cheddar fries were already hard and we had to fork pull apart. We never send anything back so down the hatch it goes! I'll chock this off to service snafu, not going to make a big deal about, since the grub is more important. I tried the original chicken sandwich and she had a burger and we shared the cheddar fries. Surprisingly the fries were still very tasty and the cheese was not greasy at all. The chicken was a full breast, but I had to pull off and trim the gnarly edge fat and trim out the center strip. Not a fan of that funky part of chicken. It had a nice char from the marinade, was juicy too. Poppy seed bun was nice accompaniment. That was the warmest of the food and it was decent (for a grilled chicken sandwich). I tried the Burger, it was good, but as the flagship.... sorry I've had better. If I wanted burger I'd go to Kenny's first or Dugg burger second. Lemonade was bland and pretty sure it was the 10% juice Minute Maid from a fountain. I was expecting more of a homemade variety for a local place. Lunch was mid $30's, fair price for the meal, but I guess I had higher expectations given the other restaurants near by. This used to be a great experience.. today was absolutely horrible! Non-existent to dont care service, and the food was even worse! Well, it's official. The Snuffer's of old is dead. I have been eating at Snuffer's since Greenville Ave opened in 1978. When I finally talked Pat Snuffer into opening at Park and Preston in Plano in 2002, I was ecstatic. I took my family 3 times a week until it closed. I am a Snuffer's Superfan. I was so excited when they reopened. The service always sucks. No one who works there is happy. The food is ok. I brought my son, in town for Christmas. We have been here for an hour and just got our appetizers! They aren't even busy during the Holidays. That's unheard of for Snuffer's. read more

The food here is usually superb. This last time I got the California Chicken Club and it was amazing. The chicken was prepared perfectly and the toppings tasted real fresh. I'm not a fan of the poppy seed bun, but it seemed to pair nicely with everything else. The alcohol is pretty expensive here considering it's more of a family dine-in and with light-handed pours. I finished off with their chocolate milkshake... Beyond delicious, I'm going to cap off every night here with one of those heavenly concoctions. But the thing that stood out the most was how SLOW the staff seemed to move. We had an hour wait before we even got our table! And after each order we rang in, it got to the point where we would have to look around perplexed about how long something would take. We felt like hostages, but I'm sure they just happened to be understaffed that day. If we have a similar experience, I wouldn't be coming back. read more

Walked in on a Saturday to have lunch. It's a sports bar atmosphere. Not what I expected. There was a high top table of 10-12 teens. Loud. Using the n word with hard er. Certainly don't care to hear that word as soon as I walk into an establishment. I was second guessing the crowd that eats here. And if we should stay. Blue cheese burger for me. Chicken sandwich for him. Cheddar fries to share. The food was cool. Not hot. The fries were stuck in a big clump due to the cheese no longer in a melted state. I think there is good flavor but certainly would be better served at a better temp. Perhaps if our food was delivered quicker.... One server was clearing tables and carrying too many dirty cups back to the kitchen. Spilling what was left on the floor and using her hands on the cups where people drank from. She is also bringing food to tables. So consider the cross contamination. I know it happens everywhere but it's difficult to unsee! Everyone was polite and as I stated the food has good taste. I tried a month ago...the middle aged waitress literally ignored me after we sat at a table trying to place a drink order for 20 minutes and hit every table around us so we finally left and went across the street to Katy Trail. It was a Saturday afternoon..not busy at all. I tried two weeks ago. Tuesday night, no servers in sight. I ordered drinks at the bar, finally found a server after 20 mins. Order came out wrong, but was fixed. I chalked it up to a busy Tuesday night with their burger special. Last straw was tonight. The server apologized in advance for being so busy. Same waitress with the eyes ignored us when we asked for a soft drink refill..seriously she walked off when I asked...( I know she wasn't our server but I was desperate) because we literally waited 20 mins to see our waitress again...then we asked the bartender for the rest of our refills the rest of the night. The food was awful...seriously.. cold. The cheese fries were soggy like they had been warmed up in a microwave and the buns on the burgers were frigid...sad and unreal. The server never reappeared to make sure the food was ok. Sad. I asked the bartender about who the manager on duty was..she wasn't sure that there even was one. Awesome way to run an establishment. New ownership found a new way to profitability. Charge for sour cream with your potatoes. Refills on the drinks are very slow on a slow night. Can't imagine what it would've been had they been busy. Food is the same as it has been. Average, except for the great cheese fries - that earned it the extra star. Sweeping the floor outside might even help keep the flies at bay. What a joke! We came in (wife, daughter & I) at 7:15 Friday night. Hostess took our name and said it would be 2-3 minutes....20 minutes later we walked out after not being seated. Inside I counted over 7 empty/dirty booths and tables that if someone simply would have cleared they could have seated us. Super frustrating to be standing there for 20 minutes while there are all of these open tables inside. There were another dozen empty tables outside. The hostess could not have been more apathetic. The manager was nowhere to be seen. On a side note, I've always liked the food at SNUFFERS. Unfortunately, after this last experience I'll never go back to this location. read more

Disappointing service, cold food. This was my first time at Snuffers and I had heard great things. We were seated pretty quickly but after 20 minutes had to hunt down a waitress before anyone took our order. It was the dinner rush so this didn't bother me too much and I was still excited to try the food. About 45 minutes after we placed our order, a kind waiter who wasn't our server checked up on us after walking past us a few times to his tables. We hadn't seen our waitress since we placed our order. When the food was delivered by our waitress 10-15 minutes later, the fries were cold and the burgers were room temperature. Later, the server who had previously checked up on us came by, and only after telling him about the cold food did we see our waitress again. She offered to bring some fresh fries but at that point I was ready to go. I'd still like to try Snuffers at some point in the future - the food is probably good warm - but I absolutely wouldn't come back to this location. read more

We have tried Snuffer's several times to give them a chance. We just went tonight. Was seated at a table that was dirty. Service was horrible, they messed up our food orders, half our table got our food, 2 orders came out late because tHe waitress put in the wrong order. Drink refills took forever!!! Waitress never apologized, offered to reduce our tab, nothing. I would have thought the manager would have come over but that never happened. We will NEVER go back!!!! Just ate at Snuffers for the first time and won't be back. On arrival the restaurant smelled of sweaty locker room. Waiter had very dry sense of humor which came off as rude. Worst burger in Dallas. Snuffers was a favorite restaurant of our family for years... back to the 80's on Lower Greenville. When my sister passed away in June, I called and asked if we could have a post-service family luncheon for 20 as this was a favorite spot. They said they don't take reservations, but thought they could take care of us. I called the Monday before the service to give an exact date, time & # & was told they would take care of it. Family started arriving at the designated time- they said they knew nothing about it, didn't think they could accommodate us & were short staffed. While they started pushing tables together, we were able to find a different restaurant that treated us like royalty with consideration of the emotional service we had just concluded. Many thanks to Sixty Vines. Snuffers could have easily told us that their restaurant was not an option... on 2 occasions. The treatment by the man who greeted my 88 year old father, my sister's daughter and others was rude, angry, upset & insensitive. The food took far too long and was barely warm when it arrived. My server Andrew never refilled my water and didn't remove my plate when I was finished.
