My husband and I met some friends at Snug Harbor for dinner. The weather was nice so we decided to eat outside. I ordered the Thai salad. The Thai salad came loaded with vegetables and tasted healthy. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu. Just like the salad this was good but not memorable. Snug Harbor is a nice spot for a meal and a great view of the river.

Very deceiving! So much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside unless you're looking at it from the water. Very friendly service and good selections. I was surprised to see so many sushi options. The kids options are phenomenal.

Nice place! The workers were very nice and attentive and overall just very sweet! We did unfortunately get sat right with the sun in our eyes, but it was still a nice view. I asked for no onions on my burger and they put some on, but it wasn't bad because I could just scrape them off. The burger was very good otherwise! Honestly the price is very high for the food you are getting but I would still recommend coming here.

Fish & Chips (we asked for no tartar).

Typically, I try to rate an overall rather than break down each individual aspect, but as you will see there were some wildly varying factors. Service: Nick - 5 stars. He was kind, efficient, and attentive. We made a reservation and were seated quickly. Ambiance: 4/5 - The ambiance was charming. Darker, quieter (they also weren't super busy at 6 on a Saturday which was surprising), and had tasteful decor. We sat next to the fireplace which was so lovely and warm. Beverages: They either jigger or short pour. Mine was tasty but needed a few more sips, his was interesting, but I would have expected his to come in a pint, vs a modified high ball (approx. 6oz with ice?) Food: Here's where it kind of fell apart. We ordered the bread plate (1/5) because I had gotten pasta as a main dish and it isn't served with any bread. Focaccia was good, but the pumpkin was burnt. Pumpkin isn't something I normally would eat, so I am letting his ranking stand. Also, wasn't a fan of either butter. He ordered the fish and chips (1/5) and the batter was definitely inedibly undercooked on the second piece. He picked out the fish from inside. The fries were standard. The pea stuff was interesting. I didn't mind it, but definitely didn't need a whole soup cup full. I tried the other piece of his cod and it was fine. My entree was the Seafood Tomato Alfredo. I'd say a heavy 4/5. Typically, I don't eat red sauce, and this was a very medium orange. My only complaint is that it could have used a teaspoon of sugar to cut the bitterness (as a person who doesn't eat red sauce). If you do, this is probably a 5/5 for you. The seafood pieces were plentiful and large, and the pasta perfect. Overall the food came quickly and was a generous portion. However, we probably won't be back to try it again as he was quite unsatisfied and would probably rate his entire experience a 1/5. For me, I'd give it another shot, but for the money, if we want a nicer dinner we would probably find somewhere else.

Great atmosphere and good meal. We went for lunch sat outside for lunch. We enjoyed the wedge salad and clam chowder. Katie did a great job.

Lots of snow - at times it hid the lighthouse.

We finally made it to Snug Harbor for lunch today. The weather was horrible but we had an appointment that took us out anyway so we stopped in to try the place out. And damn! It was so good that there are about 6 other items I want to try. We both had French Onion soup to start and it was pretty good. I'm definitely going to order it again. I had steak and frites - very tasty- the frites were worth eating every last one. My wife had Croque Madame sandwich - that was good too. The kettle chips that came with it are also worth eating every last one too. Service was outstanding and friendly.

They made a special order vegan meal for me. It was very much appreciated. So had to find anything vegan in West Michigan.

Average food, subpar service. The few employees I interacted with had a 'I can't need bothered' attitude.

The indoor/ outdoor space blends together in the warmer months with cool hangout spaces and game areas. This place is truly a work of art. Drink lists abound, but because it was lunchtime we stuck to food. We were not disappointed. Everything was well conceived and delicious. I can't wait to come back and try the bone bread next time, stew and scrumptious sounding salads. Today we had the kids smash burger, Brussels burger with frites and fried haddock and frites with a delicious coleslaw. The best part? Different sauces to choose to dip the fries in. The curry ketchup was the best (special shout out for *actually* cooking the curry into the ketchup) as it did not taste of raw curry. They definitely don't cut corners here. We noticed, and we appreciated it. We will be back.

Yes, they have a small parking lot, and don't fret if you have the park on the street like we did, as we were seating promptly and it didn't feel too crowded. Since we were seated at high tops near the bar, the bar tender was our waitress, and she is literally the nicest, good energy, engaging human ever! She also whips up the custom, creative mimosa recipes, kudos to her for her awesomeness! I ordered the Shakshuka, flavorful, delicious, would order again. Even as a non-vegan, it was satisfying and would recommend to everyone. Husband had the 1964 Worlds Fair Waffle, and it was tiny. Not what you envision when you think of Belgian waffles. He also ordered the Belgian Forest Bacon, again VERY small portion, so much so that at the end of the meal, he had to order a side of the Smashed Maple Sausage. Both our drinks (I had the mimosa) were fantastic and worth ordering, loved the glassware! Aside from the small portions of waffle, bacon, and sausage, the cheerful vibes here are contagious, and I'd dine here again in a heartbeat!

Service was slow out of the gate -- despite our waiter hanging out with a table he clearly knew. Food didn't fare much better. We ordered the smash burger, which by definition should come with cheese and smash sauce -- that's the whole point of a smash burger, not an add-on. Ours came with neither, and even though it had two patties, we had to pay extra just to add a single slice of cheese. It was incredibly dry, even after adding that cheese and trying table condiments to compensate. The chicken tenders looked appetizing but the chicken itself was stringy and overcooked. Dessert was the low point. We ordered the Oreo cheesecake bites and waited over 20 minutes, only to be served what was essentially liquid pudding in a shooter glass with whipped cream on top. Our server admitted, "I didn't know I was supposed to make it" -- it seems the dessert needed time to set in the fridge and was served before it was ready. While we were waiting we heard another table complaining. The server responded "chill. It's all good". The table responded "actually it's not all good!" Three strikes and we're out. We won't be back.

For my main I ordered the POLISH PLATE ($18)  two kielbasa, three pierogies, cabbage roll and kapusta. This was excellent. The Kielbasa were tasty and just as good as dedicated Polish restaurants. The Kapusta is a Polish cabbage dish baked with onions, mushrooms, and sauerkraut. It was excellent, I don't think I've had it before, I'll definitely be having it again. I didn't think I like cabbage, at the very least, I like theirs alot. The pierogies were excellent and only needed the sour cream to be perfect. If you like Polish food, I definitely recommend this dish! The service was very friendly and efficient. Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely. Location Drinks My husband had the Mule and I had the Blueberry Vodka Lemonade. SOOOO good! My husband and I stopped here after a day at the beach because we hadn't been here in years! It will definitely be the last time we eat here. The pizza was cold, wet and soggy at the bottom. I ended up eating a couple of pieces around the sides, closer to the crust where it wasn't wet gross bread. My first bite I said to my husband "This tastes like Red Baron pizza." I highly do not recommend the pizza. I've had the lettuce wraps while hanging out at Odd Sides and they were delicious! The service was honestly also not great. She was friendly enough, but being attentive to guests was not trained into any of the servers working the outdoor seating area. We were one of 3 tables outside, so they were not busy. I can understand, and have total empathy for, being a server in weeds so deep it's hard to get drinks re-ordered (been there done that), but today was not the case. At one point there were 5 servers/hostess standing around the hostess stand while our drinks were empty. Wild. I saw what looked like a manger walking in the area twice (not near us) and at one point another server was talking on her phone while walking through the outdoor dining area, telling the person on the other line "I'm still at work." Physically yes, mentally no. I can't help but feel like the cold wet pizza I was less of a kitchen issue than a service issue. The outdoor patio dining area is probably one of the most tired looking on the street of downtown Grand Haven with chipped paint on stools and old umbrellas (what few there were). Kirby used to be a destination in Grand Haven for their food, service and wood fired pizzas. I'm sad about what it's become now. I'd recommend go elsewhere. There are so many great places for eats and drinks that you can pass on Kirby House. I'm holding out hope for a big comeback for this place!
