Carne Asada Burrito, red sauce and regular Horchata.

Decided to try Socorro's for dinner and I'm glad I did. My meal was delicious. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and I have to say the tortilla and meat had excellent flavor, the beans and rice also had great taste. Normally I don't review ( just read reviews) but I had to give them credit. 9/10, recommended.

Where to start off!? First time here in this hole in the wall, ambiance is nice, mainly serving food to go, service was great ladies working were very attentive and nice. Now to the best part the food was a 5/5. !! Being 9 months pregnant my expectations are a bit high so I really cannot wait to come back. My husband and I had the cheese enchilada plate, sope plate & Carne asada tacos . Meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection with homemade tortillas! Oh ! Don't let me forget the delicious horchata!

The limones were dry no juice and the "tostadas" were Soft shells that's a reason why they're called Tostsdas

The food is ok a bit overpriced I just don't understand how can they can get away with that one taco for $4,50 seriously,it's just a hole on the wall but the food it's ok the service on the on the other hand is TERRIBLE, the employees attitude towards you is like they're doing you a favor, if you are seating on your table and ask for something when you see the waitress passing by she just ignores you and don't care what you want or need is not like they're busy it's only like 3 tables occupied by customers, long faced waitresses with attitude like they're mad or something I mean if you're going to be like that work somewhere else but don't do customer service is bolt like im Eating for free I'm paying for my food but with that TERRIBLE SERVICE don't be expecting a tip The owner should really look into it unless he/she doesn't care about losing customers!!

Food is good. Service not good. I ordered food by phone for pick up, in my broken Spanish. My Non Spanish speaking son picked up the food. When he arrived he told them he was picking up a phone order, (they did not ask my name to identify the order-over the phone) he had to tell them what we ordered, they asked him Questions in Spanish, he didn't understand some words, he said the waitress was annoyed, while he was waiting, they made him feel uncomfortable, as he saw them giving him looks and he heard them say, no sabe español, in a not so nice way. He understands some, but can't pronounce enough to speak Spanish it. When the order was ready they didn't hand him the food, they just placed on the counter and waitress walked away. When he asked if that was his order, they pointed at the counter. He said he had never felt so disrespected.

The drinks: Some of the best cocktails I've had in my life. Not in LA, but everywhere, in my life. You don't taste the alcohol, it's not masked in a lot of sugar, yet after a couple of margs you'll be feeling it. The food: So good, but you need to order what you like. If you like octopus, you'll love their octopus taco. If you like cerviche, you'll love some of their sides / starters. My personal favorite is the pollo asado. I've only been here for dinner a few times, but their brunch also looks solid (haven't personally tried yet) Bonus: their drink menu during the holidays is also great, get out there in December for some new cocktails that will blow your mind.

The $12 portion of guacamole confitado and chips was so small that it did not justify the price. Leaving a meal feeling ripped off. I'm not expecting a bargain or a "deal" but definitely get something reasonable for the amount of money that is being charged. I sent this feedback directly to the restaurant in a polite email, expecting at least a basic acknowledgment from management. Receiving zero response shows how little customer feedback is prioritized.

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!

The place was pretty empty and they could've easily accommodated us. We even told them it was my friend's birthday and they didn't care. Then, they proceeded to seat us at a 2 person table that was across from a really old gentleman who was with a super young girl (who could've been his granddaughter- to each his own, but didn't want to see that all night. When we asked for a different table they said the others were all reserved... hmmm interesting that I didn't see anyone sit there during our time there. Pros: great service and friendly staff! They do not skimp on the meat and food is hot and fresh in minutes! Cons:The "golden potatoes" were a non-factor in the burrito. All the flavors and textures mushed together for a consistent average creation. The salsas were also lackluster. Neither had any kick, green was watery and the red remained me more of pace in a bottle than freshly made salsa. I want to support local spots so I might give them another chance and ask for crispier potatoes and crosstown fingers the salsas are better the next time.
