Came here with family recently and I was impressed with the quality of meats. This is not your typical AYCE Korean BBQ spot and I can appreciate that. The service was great also! They even cook the food for you here! One other thing to note is that this place was really clean and some KBBQ spots can get a little "greasy." Can't wait to come back and bring more friends. read more

We love going to this place for a nice dinner it with the family. The restaurant is always very clean and the food is fresh. Service here has always been super friendly and pretty attentive. Portions are generous and the preset meals for two will leave all but the heartiest of eaters pleasantly satisfied. On occasion, they do get a little busy, so reservations are recommended on weekends. Unlike lots of other KBBQ places, the vent fans in the tables pull the grill smoke downstairs so you don't end up covered in grease by the time you're done eating. Don't get me wrong, you'll still have the tasty scent of bbq on your clothes, but just not as much as with some other places. It can be a loud restaurant, given the high ceilings and industrial chic decor, but with good company, it makes for a fun lively meal! read more

Says to call for reservation and if dont answer leave a message. I called 8pm on a Tues and no answer and when message machine answered it said full. No way to run a business. Had a large party for Saturday but Ill look elsewhere. Ok got in on Sat and what a joy. Friendly server Paul and always filling up the side dishes. nice to have someone cook our meals. Dont miss out. We came to celebrate our son's bday and it was so good! They've always been good, but they really upped their game! BBQ: we had brisket, pork belly, and bulgogi. It came I. A beautiful wooden box, like a gift. The server cooked the meat and veggies really well, even plating it for us. Flavors were great, really high quality: Bibimbap was really good. I can't say I loved this place. Nothing tasted right. The bulgogi was bland and had a dusty texture. They cook it so way overdone for me. The steamed egg was bland and missing that seafoody undertone. Even the bancha was lackluster. This is the first kbbq I didn't stuff myself silly with. By the way, it's not unlimited bancha. After 2 refills, they charge you. What's up with that? Bleh, pass. read more

Solid option for KBBQ in this part of town. We had 6 people in our party, with one of them being vegan but she managed to be fine here with the japchae (requested no meat) and vege bibimbap (had to remove the egg though). The other 5 of us had the Raymond Madness, which ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Their banchan is plentiful and was really solid with the salad, although note no free refills. Beef cuts were good overall, especially the tender short rib and rib eye, although the pork jowl wasn't a notable meat to end on. Note for drinks, everyone in the party must get the same thing (can't get a combo of soju or soft drinks). We went for the lemon soju, which was dangerously refreshing and mild in a good way. Came chilled in a cool tea pot and shot glasses for everyone, although became watered down at the end of our meal. The one star off is also for service. They were nice but because they were busy, the first two rounds of meat were a little confusing. I didn't realize that this place would cook for you, so we ended up doing a bit ourselves at the beginning. Our group wanted more medium meats and it felt like our meat was going to be overcooked while the servers didn't come back for some time, so it mislead us into thinking we should cook ourselves. The food was great! We got the Dude's Platter for a party of 4 which was the perfect portion for a double date. We also added the spicy soup and wine to round out the meal. Loved how the staff cooked & plated the meals, especially with the blow torch to make sure it cooked through on all sides. The ban chan was also delicious and complimented the meat perfectly. Now, for the COVID conscious keep reading. Scroll on by if you don't have to worry about immunocompromised family. I deducted a star because we had specifically booked this place because it offered outdoor seating. When we booked it, it even let us confirm we wanted outside seating. Then we got there and while outside seating was available, our table had been set up inside & were told that if we sat outside it would be difficult to serve us because they were fully booked and would be busy serving the inside tables. While this seems like a choice, we felt pressured to sit inside. I would have preferred to sit outside as we had requested but when it's busy and we're holding up the check in line, I just wanted to not make a scene and eat as quickly as possible. While the food & service was great, I just can't come back here while I have to worry about potentially infecting my mom. read more

The service staff is warm and friendly, and deserve top marks right off the bat. However, Soh Grill has THE STRANGEST weekend policy which is NOT listed anywhere outside the restaurant, inside the dining room, or anywhere on the menu. That is, on weekends, you are required to order - at a minimum - two meat dishes. Each meat dish, mind you, is about $35-45. So if you simply came in for two soon-tofus, as we did, expecting to pay maybe $40-50 for the meal, you end up paying well over $100 just because you have to add two meat dishes. It is the most insane required upsell I've ever heard of in a restaurant. The meat is presented in nice little wooden boxes before being cooked for you by the staff (you can ask them not to, but it's set up for them to do so), and the restaurant is bright, clean and airy. The venting is great, so you never have to worry about walking out smelling of Korean BBQ. But that policy...it's just the craziest thing I've ever experienced. Basically forcing you to pay minimum $100 just for the meat if you walk in on weekends. read more

I really liked this restaurant! The waiters were very kind and understanding of our large group, and the food in the Raymond Madness box was amazing! I especially loved the brisket and the rib eye. The lemon soju that came with the box was also good. There are some things I would like to note however. Firstly, I thought the banchan side dishes were small on the portion sizes. Secondly, I noticed that the kimchi we had tasted very cabbage-y, as if it hadn't fully fermented. I do worry a bit if a Korean restaurant can't get the kimchi of all things right. Do you smell that? Smells like BBQ. The cologne of KBBQ place never leaves your clothes and this place was no exception. But it's a good lingering scent. SOH is an a la carte KBBQ place that is a bit on the pricey side mainly due to the quality of the ingredients and location. We ordered the beef tongue and marinated short rib. Both had excellent thick meat cuts and were tasty. The staff cook for you so you can take out the guess work of timing of when to flip or move the meat and when it's ready to get in your belly. The service is really great and I loved one of the ladies, I think her name was Yoo. She was super sweet and funny. read more

We started SOH Grill House in Jan 2016. The construction took 1.5 years in Pasadena. After Covid 19, we got an ownership change and changed our concept to the Premium Barbecue.

As of July 2022, the long tables seemed to fit 8 chairs. Unsure if they are able to add in additional chairs. The large combo for 4 people is $150 and comes with 2 draft beers. The large combo for 5 people is $190 and comes with a soju.

One of my favorite parts of experience was the "Omakase" customized drink option (I'd come back just for that experience alone). My husband requested for a smoky, spicy cocktail with Tequila and what the server brought back to us was indescribably delicious. We can tell the mixologist who made our drink was a master at her craft. 10/10 recommend. For the food portion, we both selected the 4 course DineLA customized menu and got one of each item on the menu so we can try everything. We loved the Japanese fusion of flavors. I especially enjoyed the Appetizer Hamachi shots and Crispy Shrimp Amaebi. It had a refreshing balance of flavors that were good teasers for the next dish on menu, which was the Wedge salad (loved) and Beef Tataki (it was okay). Then came the main entree, which we both got the Filet mignon, which was a good standard steak at a fine dining steakhouse. I was slightly surprised the steak did not have any Japanese flavor notes since it's a Japanese fusion steakhouse. Nonetheless, that did not take away from our pleasant experience. Next time, I'd probably opt for a ribeye or tomahawk. Last but not least, the dessert finally came. We felt VERY spoiled because not only did we have the incredible flourless chocolate cake (my favorite) and mango sorbet (refreshing), we also got a cheesecake and cotton candy, which we were able to take home to enjoy later. The ambiance is lively and can get pretty loud, so we had to speak a little louder than normal. My only real complaint was the temperature in the main dining room. It was extremely warm throughout our visit, even with the AC supposedly running at full power. Interestingly, the area near the restrooms was noticeably cooler. This was really the only thing keeping our experience from being 5 stars. Parking around Green Street can be challenging, but street parking is free. We got lucky and found a spot down the block. There's also a paid public lot near Green and Mentor. Overall, Malbec delivered excellent food and even better service. Ernesto and Eder were both fantastic and really elevated our experience. Had a lovely meal at Soh Grill House with friends. Soh Grill House is a great addition to the food scene of Pasadena Old Town. No more drive to Ktown if you are ever craving for KBBQ. The design of the grill vent here is very considerate and let the smoke and smell go through underground. As a result, the space is clean and smoke/smell free. The restaurant space design is spacious, modern, and clean. The service is fast and attentive. The waiters would grill the meat for you and constantly check in to ensure the meal progress properly. Food wise, the meat quality is great. I personally like their wagyu beef. The fruit sorbet dessert after meal is delicious. The sorbet is imported from Italy and served in original fruit shells by its flavor. If you are vegetarian, the restaurant also has kimchi fried rice (veggie version).One of my friend is vegetarian and she is very happy about her dish. The restaurant is also working on coming up with more vegetarian friendly dishes to accommodate different customer needs. Currently, the restaurant is still doing soft opening and focusing on dinner only. Hopefully soon, they will be open for lunch as well. Lastly on parking and direction, the restaurant is located one block down from Osawa. Plenty of public parking lots nearby. I highly recommend making a reservation before visiting this place. Without a reservation, you might be treated as an uninvited guest. I called ahead and was told by an employee that there is no wait so come to visit within 10-15 minutes, I was advised to come ASAP. However, upon arrival, I was treated dismissively; the person I had spoken to on the phone acted as if I was making unreasonable demands. I ended up waiting around 40 minutes for a table, and even then, no one provided us with a menu. Disappointed by the employees' attitude, I expressed my concerns to the manager, feeling that the restaurant disrespected my time. The manager seemed indifferent to my experience and offered no sincere apology, attempting to remedy the situation with a complimentary drink instead. Feeling frustrated with the entire experience, I left without ordering. Having lived in Pasadena for a long time and visited this restaurant since its early days, I'm deeply disappointed and don't plan to return. I had a pretty solid time at Soh Grill, but it wasn't exactly my best kbbq experience. I tried the Butcher's Choice Lucky Split, which came with brisket, pork belly, and a choice of tofu or soybean soup. The brisket was pretty much what you'd expect from regular brisket, but the pork belly was super good. As for the banchan, the sides were decent but really mild. It was enough to satisfy three people, but not enough to leave us completely full, especially if you're someone who likes to have a bunch of sides with every bite of meat. So, Soh Grill House has a lot of rules that can feel a bit much. After the first refill of a set of banchan, they charge extra for one kind of banchan and salad bowl. And if you're planning on going during weekends or holidays, there's a rule where you have to order at least two types of meat per table. It's not the most relaxed place if you're just looking for a casual meal. Overall, it's a decent spot if you just want some good quality meat. read more

Whenever we're craving Korean BBQ, there's nowhere else we'd like to go to but Soh Grill House. This restaurant is by far the cleanest amongst the KBBQ places we've been to in LA. The quality of meat is consistently good, the banchans are really delicious, the barley tea is simply a treat. We've been coming here so regularly that everyone almost always knows what we want to order even before we mention it. Our favorites are the kalbitang, pork jowl, top blade, Soh prime cut, and the beef belly. Granted it is not an AYCE restaurant, I've never left the restaurant not satisfied, I always feel full to my satisfaction! The food is really pretty in presentation with carrot highlights and a carrot butterfly ! All the dishes we tried are delicious! Green beans with steak, yellow curry with chicken, pork skewers, pad see ew with pork. i have not tried the mango sticky rice yet but it looks amazing!

Disappointing First Experience…read more I saw the promotion on Ubers Eats for "Buy 1 iced tea, get 1 free," so I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the merchant did not honor the promotion, which was disappointing. I'm a Pad See Ew junkie, so I was really looking forward to trying it. This was also my first time trying food from Moon 48. Unfortunately, I ordered the Pad See Ew to go, and the taste was extremely disappointing. The noodles had a strong plastic taste, almost as if the food had absorbed the flavor of the black plastic takeout container. That was essentially all I could taste. I really wanted to like this place, but between the promotion not being honored and the food tasting like plastic, this was not a good first experience. Update: About 20 minutes after eating 1/4 of the Pad See Ew, I developed diarrhea. This happened shortly after eating the meal and it made an already disappointing experience even worse.
