We're not from the area and were craving Korean BBQ, so we checked reviews and saw this place had consistently great feedback. That's what made us decide to drive over.When we got there, parking was a bit challenging. Most of the parking is street metered, and because it's a highly walkable area with lots of restaurants and shops nearby, available spaces are limited. It's definitely something to plan for, but once parked, everything is close by.There is a parking garage directly across the street, which is convenient, but it costs $15. We weren't thrilled about the fee, though it is an option if you don't want to deal with street parking. We walked into the restaurant and were nicely greeted. It was around 5:00 p.m., just as dinner service was starting, so the place was still fairly empty. The restaurant itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. We were seated right away. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated, but we felt overlooked as the staff focused on another table. Dinner is $98 per person, plus extra charges for additional sides, and automatic gratuity for parties of five or more. After reviewing the menu, we decided it wasn't for us and left. Ended up at a Korean BBQ 4 minutes down tge way nearby for $50 per person, which was a better fit for our group. read more

We had such a great experience here as a party of 6 adults & 2 babies that I had to write a review. We wanted to take our visiting family to KBBQ but didn't want the hassle of going to KTown with babies. Soh Grill House was perfect. We loved how family friendly it was--they not only had high chairs, but also provided cute plastic placemats and kids plates. There's even a changing table in the women's restroom. We had ample space at our table and the high ceilings and good ventilation meant it wasn't as smoky as other places we've been to. Food: We got the "Dudes platter" and added the "flower short rib" and a couple sides, which was plenty of food for us. My favorite meat was the seasoned boneless short rib. Some of the dishes were on the blander side, like the kimchi, but overall it was still a solid meal that everyone (even the babies) was happy with. Service: Everyone was attentive and helpful, especially our server Paul, who kindly offered to take a family photo for us when he saw us attempting to take a selfie! read more

We love going to this place for a nice dinner it with the family. The restaurant is always very clean and the food is fresh. Service here has always been super friendly and pretty attentive. Portions are generous and the preset meals for two will leave all but the heartiest of eaters pleasantly satisfied. On occasion, they do get a little busy, so reservations are recommended on weekends. Unlike lots of other KBBQ places, the vent fans in the tables pull the grill smoke downstairs so you don't end up covered in grease by the time you're done eating. Don't get me wrong, you'll still have the tasty scent of bbq on your clothes, but just not as much as with some other places. A beautiful wooden box, like a gift. The server cooked the meat and veggies really well, even plating it for us. Flavors were great, really high quality: Bibimbap was really good. Solid option for KBBQ in this part of town. We had 6 people in our party, with one of them being vegan but she managed to be fine here with the japchae (requested no meat) and vege bibimbap (had to remove the egg though). The other 5 of us had the Raymond Madness, which ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Their banchan is plentiful and was really solid with the salad, although note no free refills. Beef cuts were good overall, especially the tender short rib and rib eye, although the pork jowl wasn't a notable meat to end on. Note for drinks, everyone in the party must get the same thing (can't get a combo of soju or soft drinks). We went for the lemon soju, which was dangerously refreshing and mild in a good way. Came chilled in a cool tea pot and shot glasses for everyone, although became watered down at the end of our meal. The one star off is also for service. They were nice but because they were busy, the first two rounds of meat were a little confusing. I didn't realize that this place would cook for you, so we ended up doing a bit ourselves at the beginning. Our group wanted more medium meats and it felt like our meat was going to be overcooked while the servers didn't come back for some time, so it mislead us into thinking we should cook ourselves. While this seems like a choice, we felt pressured to sit inside. I would have preferred to sit outside as we had requested but when it's busy and we're holding up the check in line, I just wanted to not make a scene and eat as quickly as possible. The service staff is warm and friendly, and deserve top marks right off the bat. However, Soh Grill has THE STRANGEST weekend policy which is NOT listed anywhere outside the restaurant, inside the dining room, or anywhere on the menu. That is, on weekends, you are required to order - at a minimum - two meat dishes. Each meat dish, mind you, is about $35-45. So if you simply came in for two soon-tofus, as we did, expecting to pay maybe $40-50 for the meal, you end up paying well over $100 just because you have to add two meat dishes. It is the most insane required upsell I've ever heard of in a restaurant. The meat is presented in nice little wooden boxes before being cooked for you by the staff (you can ask them not to, but it's set up for them to do so), and the restaurant is bright, clean and airy. The venting is great, so you never have to worry about walking out smelling of Korean BBQ. But that policy...it's just the craziest thing I've ever experienced. Basically forcing you to pay minimum $100 just for the meat if you walk in on weekends. read more

I really liked this restaurant! The waiters were very kind and understanding of our large group, and the food in the Raymond Madness box was amazing! I especially loved the brisket and the rib eye. The lemon soju that came with the box was also good. There are some things I would like to note however. Firstly, I thought the banchan side dishes were small on the portion sizes. Secondly, I noticed that the kimchi we had tasted very cabbage-y, as if it hadn't fully fermented. I do worry a bit if a Korean restaurant can't get the kimchi of all things right. Do you smell that? Smells like BBQ. The cologne of KBBQ place never leaves your clothes and this place was no exception. But it's a good lingering scent. SOH is an a la carte KBBQ place that is a bit on the pricey side mainly due to the quality of the ingredients and location. We ordered the beef tongue and marinated short rib. Both had excellent thick meat cuts and were tasty. The staff cook for you so you can take out the guess work of timing of when to flip or move the meat and when it's ready to get in your belly. The service is really great and I loved one of the ladies, I think her name was Yoo. She was super sweet and funny. read more
