Came here with family recently and I was impressed with the quality of meats. This is not your typical AYCE Korean BBQ spot and I can appreciate that. The service was great also! They even cook the food for you here! One other thing to note is that this place was really clean and some KBBQ spots can get a little "greasy." We came to celebrate our son's bday and it was so good! They've always been good, but they really upped their game! BBQ: we had brisket, pork belly, and bulgogi. It came I. A beautiful wooden box, like a gift. The server cooked the meat and veggies really well, even plating it for us. Flavors were great, really high quality: Bibimbap was really good. I can't say I loved this place. Nothing tasted right. The bulgogi was bland and had a dusty texture. They cook it so way overdone for me. The steamed egg was bland and missing that seafoody undertone. Even the bancha was lackluster. This is the first kbbq I didn't stuff myself silly with. By the way, it's not unlimited bancha. The service staff is warm and friendly, and deserve top marks right off the bat. However, Soh Grill has THE STRANGEST weekend policy which is NOT listed anywhere outside the restaurant, inside the dining room, or anywhere on the menu. That is, on weekends, you are required to order - at a minimum - two meat dishes. Each meat dish, mind you, is about $35-45. So if you simply came in for two soon-tofus, as we did, expecting to pay maybe $40-50 for the meal, you end up paying well over $100 just because you have to add two meat dishes. It is the most insane required upsell I've ever heard of in a restaurant. The meat is presented in nice little wooden boxes before being cooked for you by the staff (you can ask them not to, but it's set up for them to do so), and the restaurant is bright, clean and airy. The venting is great, so you never have to worry about walking out smelling of Korean BBQ. But that policy...it's just the craziest thing I've ever experienced. Basically forcing you to pay minimum $100 just for the meat if you walk in on weekends. read more

I really liked this restaurant! The waiters were very kind and understanding of our large group, and the food in the Raymond Madness box was amazing! I especially loved the brisket and the rib eye. The lemon soju that came with the box was also good. There are some things I would like to note however. Firstly, I thought the banchan side dishes were small on the portion sizes. Secondly, I noticed that the kimchi we had tasted very cabbage-y, as if it hadn't fully fermented. I do worry a bit if a Korean restaurant can't get the kimchi of all things right. Solid option for KBBQ in this part of town. We had 6 people in our party, with one of them being vegan but she managed to be fine here with the japchae (requested no meat) and vege bibimbap (had to remove the egg though). The other 5 of us had the Raymond Madness, which ended up being the perfect amount of food for us. Their banchan is plentiful and was really solid with the salad, although note no free refills. Beef cuts were good overall, especially the tender short rib and rib eye, although the pork jowl wasn't a notable meat to end on. Note for drinks, everyone in the party must get the same thing (can't get a combo of soju or soft drinks). We went for the lemon soju, which was dangerously refreshing and mild in a good way. Came chilled in a cool tea pot and shot glasses for everyone, although became watered down at the end of our meal. The one star off is also for service. They were nice but because they were busy, the first two rounds of meat were a little confusing. I didn't realize that this place would cook for you, so we ended up doing a bit ourselves at the beginning. Our group wanted more medium meats and it felt like our meat was going to be overcooked while the servers didn't come back for some time, so it mislead us into thinking we should cook ourselves. The next few rounds were much better and prompt though. read more

Not your typical KBBq place. Not AYCE. Priced a la carte. They do the cooking for you. Free side dishes are good for 2 rounds, then charged. Place is not packed. Very clean and not noisy. The ladies room is pleasant. Has a diaper station and lounge chair. Why 4 stars? Bc they're doing the cooking and the meat, while cooked perfectly, is not flavored to my liking. Stumbled across this place for dinner tonight - had maybe a 15 minute wait for a walk in. Very clean restaurant with a great atmosphere. The workers hustle and work hard to make sure everyone has a good experience. They're all super pleasant. We got one of the meat combos (brisket, bulgogi, ribeye I think) and it was fire. Literally so delicious. We also shared a soon dubu meat soup and steamed egg. Everything was delicious and we were all so stuffed at the end (but had just enough room for cotton candy desert)! As of July 2022, the long tables seemed to fit 8 chairs. Unsure if they are able to add in additional chairs. The large combo for 4 people is $150 and comes with 2 draft beers. The large combo for 5 people is $190 and comes with a soju.

While we understand that some restaurants add gratuity on holidays, clearer communication would have made a big difference. We went in feeling happy and excited, but left feeling a bit disappointed. Transparency about charges would really improve the overall experience.

Services has been hit or miss but never terrible. They get swarmed with customers at meal times, then also every table is asking every server for things which throws them off. Keep the front half of the restaurant full instead of pushing tables to the far side of the restaurant. Services slows down and the ventilation is loud back there. Most important feedback, the men's room! The sink faucets are jacked up and the pressure sprays water everywhere. The floor is soaked every time I have been there. Easy fix to replace the faucets. Also the paper towel machine is rarely working and needs to be remounted properly. I'd also recommend adding another one. It would go a long way to improve this location if workers were trained to do everything as efficiently and quickly as possible. The cost is also astronomically high for chicken. A whole chicken is $31 before any taxes or fees. It's not competitive with other Korean fried chicken places and you have to imagine part of the cost is due to the location. I would be sad if this branch closed, since it is closest to where I live, but it wouldn't be a shock that it did close. There's a lot of low hanging easy changes that could be made. Better training from management, more local deals, and focusing on customer service.

Hubby ordered GG's Combo Plate, and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. GG'S was outstanding! Mac n cheese - yum! Potato salad - yum! The pulled pork was flavorful except it's on a hamburger bun with the meat on the bottom bun served open faced. When I put the top bun on and picky up the sandwich the bottom fell apart due to it soaking up the drippings. It came with a side of cole slaw but it was missing flavor. We shared a peach cobbler - Wow, so delicious! I could've and should've eaten a whole one by myself. The pulled pork sandwich isn't discouraging me from going back. It'll be a reason to try something else. Bring your patience!

The ribs were incredibly tender--10/10. They were truly fall-off-the-bone. Personally, I would have loved a bit more of that smoky char you get from Texas-style ribs, but that's just my preference. Either way, Rodney clearly knows what he's doing. The potato salad wasn't my favorite. It leaned heavily on mustard, and there seemed to be a lot of relish or pickles, which threw me off a bit. Still, I'd absolutely come back again just for the ribs. The customer ahead of us ordered brisket, and I appreciated that Rodney was upfront about whether it was on the leaner or fattier side--that level of honesty goes a long way. Overall, the BBQ smelled and tasted great, and the pricing is very reasonable for the portions you get--it's definitely worth the value. If you enjoy good BBQ, I'd recommend making the trip to check this spot out before more people discover it. The Panda Beef was shockingly amazing with crisp and flavorful slices of beef. We finished up dinner with Chocolate Lava Cake and the Warm Rice Pudding, the latter of which is also made in house. Both were a very great end to the dinner. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. Rates: $1.00 first 2 hrs, $2.00 for each additional hour. $12 for the full day. I liked the set menu, it was good for the price and I would like to return to try their other lunch menu items, whether it would be a set menu or a la carte.

Had a lovely meal at Soh Grill House with friends. Soh Grill House is a great addition to the food scene of Pasadena Old Town. No more drive to Ktown if you are ever craving for KBBQ. The design of the grill vent here is very considerate and let the smoke and smell go through underground. As a result, the space is clean and smoke/smell free. The restaurant space design is spacious, modern, and clean. The service is fast and attentive. The waiters would grill the meat for you and constantly check in to ensure the meal progress properly. Food wise, the meat quality is great. I personally like their wagyu beef. The fruit sorbet dessert after meal is delicious. The sorbet is imported from Italy and served in original fruit shells by its flavor. If you are vegetarian, the restaurant also has kimchi fried rice (veggie version).One of my friend is vegetarian and she is very happy about her dish. The restaurant is also working on coming up with more vegetarian friendly dishes to accommodate different customer needs. Currently, the restaurant is still doing soft opening and focusing on dinner only. Hopefully soon, they will be open for lunch as well. Lastly on parking and direction, the restaurant is located one block down from Osawa. Plenty of public parking lots nearby. If you are ever in old town, try this lovely new gem in the neighborhood sometimes. read more

I recently visited Soho Grill with my family to celebrate my husband's birthday, and I have to say, we were thoroughly impressed with both the service and the food! The establishment was impeccably clean and the servers were attentive and friendly, checking on us often and even cooking the meat for us. Our nephews were particularly fond of the japchae noodle dish, which they couldn't get enough of! We opted for the 5 portion combo, which included pork belly, pork jowl, rib eye, rib meat, and brisket, and it did not disappoint. Each meat was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning and tenderness. The combo also came with the choice of either a soju cocktail or soft drinks, which was a nice touch. To accompany our meal, we were treated to an array of side dishes, which were all incredibly fresh and delicious. We were especially fond of the kimchi and the bean sprouts! I highly recommend making a reservation before visiting this place. Without a reservation, you might be treated as an uninvited guest. I called ahead and was told by an employee that there is no wait so come to visit within 10-15 minutes, I was advised to come ASAP. However, upon arrival, I was treated dismissively; the person I had spoken to on the phone acted as if I was making unreasonable demands. I ended up waiting around 40 minutes for a table, and even then, no one provided us with a menu. Disappointed by the employees' attitude, I expressed my concerns to the manager, feeling that the restaurant disrespected my time. The manager seemed indifferent to my experience and offered no sincere apology, attempting to remedy the situation with a complimentary drink instead. Feeling frustrated with the entire experience, I left without ordering. Having lived in Pasadena for a long time and visited this restaurant since its early days, I'm deeply disappointed and don't plan to return. For anyone considering a visit, I strongly advise making a reservation to ensure you're treated as a welcome guest. read more

I had a pretty solid time at Soh Grill, but it wasn't exactly my best kbbq experience. I tried the Butcher's Choice Lucky Split, which came with brisket, pork belly, and a choice of tofu or soybean soup. The brisket was pretty much what you'd expect from regular brisket, but the pork belly was super good. As for the banchan, the sides were decent but really mild. It was enough to satisfy three people, but not enough to leave us completely full, especially if you're someone who likes to have a bunch of sides with every bite of meat. So, Soh Grill House has a lot of rules that can feel a bit much. After the first refill of a set of banchan, they charge extra for one kind of banchan and salad bowl. And if you're planning on going during weekends or holidays, there's a rule where you have to order at least two types of meat per table. It's not the most relaxed place if you're just looking for a casual meal. Overall, it's a decent spot if you just want some good quality meat. read more

Whenever we're craving Korean BBQ, there's nowhere else we'd like to go to but Soh Grill House. This restaurant is by far the cleanest amongst the KBBQ places we've been to in LA. The quality of meat is consistently good, the banchans are really delicious, the barley tea is simply a treat. We've been coming here so regularly that everyone almost always knows what we want to order even before we mention it. Our favorites are the kalbitang, pork jowl, top blade, Soh prime cut, and the beef belly. Granted it is not an AYCE restaurant, I've never left the restaurant not satisfied, I always feel full to my satisfaction! The service is consistently good, we never had to lift a finger cooking our meats unless we so wanted to! I can confidently say this is our "home" KBBQ place. Tip for the parking: Park inside the parking garage shared with Marriott and walk from there - helps you clock in some steps for the day and is free for 90 minutes until 9:00ish! read more

I ordered combo for two people with several side dishes. In combo menu I liked only beef belly and for other things such as bulgogi and pork, I think the quality of meat is very low.. I think they offer really cheap meats. So I was kind of so disappointed. Also the way to cook meat is not professional. Some servers burned the meats, onions and mushrooms. I hope the owner or manager train servers how to cook the meats. People who are working there is friendly, and the place is not that big or not that small. Food was amazing I was speechless when I had my first bite. I recommend the beef bulgogi, and T-bone steak. They are delicious. I also like the cleanness on the tables, they are also a nice sleek white marble. They really do like how they clean really well. I really enjoyed the service they cooked the food right in front of me and my family, on the metal pan. Made the food taste really fresh and good.
