Not bad for for a drinking place. Was thinking 3.5 Stars...but more on the lower half so sorry 3 is all i can give it... Reasonably priced decent skewers and good place to just hangout and chat and have some grub eat and have a few drinks.... This place way way way back in the days used to be an AYCE BBQ place called Ghengis Khan (nowadays those places are known as Mongolian BBQ).... SOJU is in the name so you would expect there to be a some good Soju here unfortunately just not my day to drink..... I'll come back as I think everything is reasonably priced, service is good and it is a pretty big place to just hangout and talk....

We love coming here pretty often for late night drinks and grub! Very extensive choices for food - my personal favorites are just ordering a bunch of skewers and a kimchi fried rice to share. & plenty of different beer/soju/sake options. Once you press the button at your table, the workers come very quickly to help!

This place is a great Korean modern drinking /eating area open late night. Located smack in the suburbs so unassuming from the outside. The food was all better than I'd expected! I really liked the okinomiyaki and fish cake soup. Everything, including drinks, is a bit expensive but sharing portion size. There's buttons so u can call the serve when u need something.

Great place for groups after 9pm since the kitchen still open. It's really spacious inside. The kpop music is blasting on a big screen but there's also tvs with sports. Now for the food options: We tried a variety of skewers price range 3.75 to 5.75+. The sausage and quail eggs stood out to me. Also ordered meat bulgogi dish - rice is 2$ extra. The chicken or fries combo with soju or beer pitcher seemed like a no brainer if you're drinking and crave fries anyway. I like the variety of the menu plus drinks menu. We also got sake. Ordering is easy, the servers come super quick.

We have passed by this place a gazillion times. We wanted something small to eat and didn't want to go to far out, so we ended up here, just around the corner from my father-in-laws house. This place has so many cool things to look at, including a wall with drawings of cats - - I loved it! There are lots of ropes used as dividers and canopies, lots of advertising posters for beverages, a chalkboard wall, and collections of cool little tchotchkes including tiny kimonos. They really have a great system here. Once you're seated there is a doorbell kind of thing next to the table. Anytime you want something, you ring the bell and someone will come to your table. It's very efficient. Servers don't need to walk around checking on you and interrupting your conversation, and there's almost no waiting. You push the bell and they come immediately. I love it! The menu is very large with full plates, soup, yakitory, and more. We ended up with some gyoza, and a variety of yakitori, everything was so good! It was nice to pick a lot of little things - - kind of like Japanese tapas. There was nothing I didn't like about this place, and I imagine we'll be back often.

Been craving yakitori and stopped by this Korean Japanese fusion restaurant. It was already kinda busy when we arrived, but luckily no wait. We ordered a bunch of yakitori, seafood pancake, and Cass beer. Everything tasted really good, except for the bacon asparagus and salt & pepper beef yakitori weren't as good. Quick and good service. It's a nice place for late nite dining. Plenty of parking in the plaza they're located in.

They have a lot of cool anime stuff on display when you walk inside. Service is definitely on the slower side on a Thursday night. Not enough servers. The music is kpop, the vibes are good. - Soy Pork Belly 5/5 This was SOOO good. The pork belly was soft and the carrot sauce on top is delicious. [RECOMMEND] - Spam Kimchi Stew 3.9/5 It's very salty but I think it would be good with rice. The kimchi is very sour (which is good for the stew) - Carbonara Ddukbokee + udon 2.1/5 Creamy but the sauce didn't really stand out. - Sea Snail Salad 5/5 It's fresh and light and tastes very good and not spicy at all. We finished the entire plate. [RECOMMEND] - Galbi Skewer 4.2/5 Really liked the flavor for this one. - Asparagus + Bacon Skewer 5/5 I mean... asparagus and bacon. Very good combination. Free parking in lot

My friends and I stopped by on Sat, 4/6/2024, at around 7:30 PM. They have an extensive menu since they have a bar, grill, and yakitori place - all in one! I particularly enjoyed the fact that they had pictures of everything on their menu! It is definitely useful for a first-time customer like myself. We ended up ordering the following (Prices as of April 2024): Prices for everything were relatively decent. Spicy Pork - $15.99 - Pretty yummy! I felt this dish was a little smaller than I would have liked. However, the pork was seasoned well and wasn't overcooked. I liked how they had cabbage pieces (prob filler, lol). Spicy Ham & Sausage Soup - $29.99 The star of the show, according to my party.. but also pretty spicy. I had to reach for water multiple times, so this dish comes with a kick. - It was flavorful, but it had a bit of a smokey flavor. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of that smokey flavor, but it was still good. - It's basically army stew with ramen, pieces of ham/sausage, thin rice cakes, tofu, and a slice of cheese on top. Kimchi Pancake - $15.99 - I enjoyed this. This, too, was packed with rich kimchi flavor. It was nice, crispy, and a little oily. We ate this up so quickly! Customer Service: They weren't too attentive, to be honest. We had to ask several times for extra water and had to ring the bell a couple of times as well. It also took a while for them to come after ringing the bell. This wasn't during prime rush hour since we came for a later dinner time. Sadly, I wasn't as impressed with their customer service. Hours: Monday - Sunday 5 pm - 2 am ( Kitchen Last call 12:30 am ) ( Yakitori Last call 11:45 pm ) ( Alcohol Last call 01:15 am ) They also have happy hour too! 20% off all items (except certain items) Sun-Thur: 5 - 8 pm Fri - Sat: 5 - 7 pm Parking: Plenty of parking spots are available. The restaurant is located in a plaza. We had no issues at all with parking. All in all, I'd consider coming back!

    Hen A.

casual and large korean watering hole...3 children and 5 adults...dimly lit with kpop on the large screens...large scale soju bang...finding a two side-by-side booths for children on 1 side and adults mostly to the other...servers are quick to set up the tables with shot glasses, beer glasses and styrofoam cups for water...complimentary popcorn provided...orders of diet coke, soju and beers for the adults...some orange soda for the kids...taking some waffle fries, a few skewers, kfc, tontaksu, etc. for the children...kimchi tofu, more skewers, fishcake soup and other small items for the adults...pricing is good and food is served quickly...tofu kimchi was delicious with the perfect tangy ripe kimchi...kfc and fries were crispy and decent...fishcake soup was seasoned right and flavorful...skewers were all good...staff are quick to take orders and deliver food...seated near the bar made it easier to get their attention when needed...drinks were flowing and ordered way too much food...$256 total after tax and tip for overindulgence of drinks and food...

First time! Took advantage of their happy hour menu! So many options at affordable! Had a great time at Moms night Out! Service is okay, loud music and dark! Good for friends gathering but if you want to have a conversation, not recommended coz it's super loud.

Would this be a good place to come to do homework late night if noise isn't an issue?

No, it was VERY loud there. Even late at night when hardly any customers where there. They have their music turned up so loud that the waiters can't even hear your order.

    Is outdoor dining open now?

Is it outdoor seating only at this time?

Yes we open outdoor this time No service indoor

Can we bring our own wine (red or white)? How much is the bottle fees?

I'm wondering the same thing 😂😂

Do you have to be 21 to go in here?

You only need to be 21 to drink, and the whole table gets carded if someone wants alc. But hey, you can all eat here though!

How much is a basic bottle of soju here?

    $6.99

Does this place serve authentic okinomiyaki?

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

The Zarusoba was good, but it would be nice if they gave a bit more sauce for dipping. I also got a Sashimi Salad, which had a lot of sashimi! It had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. Pretty good, but it could have used a little more dressing as well. The Combination Plate with Salmon and Tempura was enjoyable. It comes with a piece of salmon, a variety of tempura (shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato, onion), side salad, miso soup, rice, tempura sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Salmon was cooked well, and I liked all of the tempura! Their Lunch Specials are originally what caught my eye, but it seems like they don't have anything similar for dinner. Instead, everything is a la carte with the exception of a few combination plates. I wish they would do dinner specials similar to their lunch specials! Parking here is pretty difficult. After we walked right in front of Omusubi Gonbei, we both decided to get some onigiri. We were greeted by a smiling and friendly employee behind the counter when we approached this little eatery. We ended up purchasing: Spicy Tuna, $2.70 prior to tax- My husband decided to order this and really enjoyed it. I didn't have any because I am not much of a spicy eater. But my husband enjoyed it. Grilled Eel, $3.60 prior to tax- My husband and I split this one. I really liked the eel and also the sauce that was used on top of the eel. My husband also really liked this one. Fried Oyster, $3.60 prior to tax- I decided to order this one but it was topped with a spicy mayonnaise that I thought was a little too spicy for me (again, I am not a spicy eater). But the fried oyster itself was good. ---------------------------------- (Total= $10.67 after tax) Wait time for our items was pretty much non existent, since the girl helping us boxed up our items before I even had the chance to finish paying (I always struggle to pay via tap on the first try... This was a great snack for us since we had lunch 3 hours before (I had a light lunch of a tofu salad so the 1.5 onigiri that I had was perfect for me). I like that the onigiri was fresh and the filling. But there is a significant amount of rice and very little of the filling. But I must agree with other reviewers on certain aspects. The nori is very soft and chewy. It's not separated from the warm gohan itself. So if you're accustomed to onigiri with crisp nori, you will be disappointed. Depending on which kind of omusubi you're getting, I also agree that it may definitely feel like there's a lot more rice than the filling. I usually get the mentaiko, ebiten, and oyster musubis. I feel as though those are actually consistently good. The saltiness of the fillings really offsets the amount of rice included and makes it work. My other favorite flavors are takana and shiso. The two goes perfectly well with the karaage they sell separately. Another thing is that the rice itself is actually seasoned and not plain, which helps. Chashu and other fillings like eel has been a miss at this location. Same with their tuna and salmon offerings. I must admit I'm especially not a huge fan of their tuna offerings. It uses too much katsuobushi flavor in my opinion. I like mine more mayo forward. The service here can be a hit or a miss. It really depends on who is working there and what time/day of the week it is. Same goes with the availability of seatings. Parking is free but can be a hassle to find a close spot because of the proximity to the gym, superchargers, and other businesses.

It is so good we get at least two orders everytime we come I also love all the nigiri they have. We usually pick the ones from Japan and it is delicious. The service is really good. I usually get my food without sesame and I noticed the other day they accidentally out a little sesame on it and instead of just picking it off and giving it to me the remade the whole order. I was very very impressed by it. The ambiance is nice. It can feel casual but the food you taste is very Delicious and feel high end.

Prices are affordable and sushi was flavorful. Today, we ordered almost the same items but unfortunately there was barely any taste. It did not taste bad more like freshly unfrozen with only some flavor and little sweetness. Spicy edamame - tasted like it was just sate'd in chili oil and salt Yellow tail belly Albacore belly Jumbo Scallop Ankimo Spanish Makeral Red Snapper We really enjoyed this place and wanted to give it another try but if you do try; definitely come before 5pm for their Makeral hour prices. Again, the staff was very nice nice welcoming. It is a place for family and quick get together but the food has been hit n miss.

At first I thought it was a fast food style, order at the counter and wait for your order to be ready, but it was actually a casual sit down restaurant. The lovely lady took our order when we were ready. They offer a variety of plates and combo plates which includes California roll and gyoza. They have a but two rolls and get one free special which is what I went with. They have a variety of sushi rolls to choose from. They have no rice rolls and several styles of specialty rolls. They even have ramen or udon noodle soups. The service was attentive enough to not feel forgotten. She checked on us a few times and made sure our water was replenished. Pleasantly surprised about this place. Nowhere a high end Japanese restaurant, but very sufficient enough for a simple lunch.

Service was solid too, our server kept checking in on us but it wasn't too much. I got the chicken katsu combo plate, the chicken was crispy which I liked. My fiancé got the summer rolls, no complaints, and the salmon was fresh. Overall just a good experience, I'd come back.

These are the sort of eateries I seek out when I go to Japan as they are affordable, filling, and satisfying. Just as they do in Japan, they have a large display case on the wall which is filled with a couple dozen realistic plastic displays of the various plates they offer. It makes it easy to see what you'll be getting and helps me make a decision. I was there for a late lunch and ordered the pork katsu curry plate and also, for an additional fee, added an omelette on top of the rice (omu-curry). I was given a pager by the friendly fellow at the counter and my meal was made in less than ten minutes. I sat and ate in the clean, comfortable food court. The pork was good quality, very tender, with a crunchy panko coating. The rice was done perfectly and the omelette on top was delicious with a buttery taste and soft texture. I loved the curry; it had excellent flavor and complemented the pork well. There were also some slices of hard-boiled egg and some bits of radish on the plate as well as a cabbage salad. My single complaint is that the salad had no dressing so was rather "blah" compared to everything else. I call these places fast-food katsu. They are all over Japan. Not as fancy as high-end katsu restaurants, where the pigs have been massaged daily before becoming tonkatsu, but satisfying comfort-food versions. To this end, this place delivers flawlessly. It's delicious!

Tokyo Shokudo's menu is pretty vast and includes a wide range of Japanese comfort foods. From rice bowls to udons and sobas, they've got it all! I went with their Pork Katsu Curry Udon. It wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't terrible. The katsu filet had a nice crisp to it and the curry udon was comforting. It didn't particularly wow me as I've had better elsewhere, but it was perfectly fine. A small note is that I think the bowl was a bit too small for what it was. I found myself really trying to dig deep to reach the noodles. By the time I got to them, it felt like a lot of the curry had already got soaken up. I think as an udon dish, its components could've been more well rounded.

Easy parking; great friendly service; love the wooden benches and booths--don't let the mini-mall exterior fool you, it's surprisingly delightfully inside, using the space well. Love the KPop playlist that was streaming. Based on other Yelp reviews, we knew we had to get the Chicken Katsu, which was perfect: it's clear they change the oil often, light, crunchy, flavorful--next time we want to try the Curry Katsu!! It came out first with the fresh and springy banchan. We knew the two of us were ordering too much food, but we really needed to try the Bibim Noodle... it took 5 min longer, the noodles alive and fresh. the flavors and textures mixing perfectly. OMG a new favorite spot: we cannot wait to bring everyone here since it's so close. But it also makes us want to go to the Garden Grove location, too

The portions are ginormous and can feed a party of 3-4 for a very cost friendly price! Upon arriving, I was seated immediately while waiting for my dad and brother to arrive. I ordered the Jap Chae and the Army Ramen. Both very decent size for its cost as stated earlier. The food came out about 10-15 minutes after ordering. Which is a bit slow but not too slow. Jap Chae - 5/5 I love that the glass noodles are bouncy and chewy. The flavoring is just warm and comforting. It's not too salty and more on the slightly sweet side, which fits perfectly for my taste buds. Don't get me wrong, it does have some savory but not too salty. Army Ramen - 4.5/5 the instant ramen bonhomie with my childhood and then just elevated with the sliced cheese, hot dog sausages cut up, the rice cake seemed a bit redundant on the carbs but texture was fine, and the particles of meat. Overall very satisfying and a bit of a kick to it. Perfectly balanced with the banchan
