I really enjoyed my BBQ. Had salad bar, dry ribs, and beans. Service was good. Clean restaurant. Will return.

I stop there every now and then. Service is always great. The food is good but they really need to find a way to check the corn on cob. I would say most of the time the corn is not just warm but cold. I am not sure why that is because I am sure they must have other people send it back. I have sent the corn back before but not this time. I just did not eat it. Other then that I think you can get a good meal there. read more

We had lunch here today. I am sorry to say this place is like a rollercoaster on the quaility of there food, not consistent. Today was one of the off days. I had brisket which was cold on soggy garlic toast and my diet soda tasted funny. It is so expensive to eat out, I expect good food and good service, you missed the mark today. The pulled pork and brisket are excellent. Everything else is acceptable. Serving staff are pretty good but just short of excellent.

I don't really care for Sonny's BBQ. The meats usually are dry and bland.

I'm not sure they deserve even one star - food was cold and tasted like it had been sitting around all day. Server told us they had to use up the food from the day before! Second time this has happened - management was less than impressive - gave us 10% off of the bill. There were very few customers in restaurant - that should have told us something. Server was very good - he should find another job somewhere else. We will never go back! read more

Preordered 5lbs pulled pork, 4 lbs baby back ribs, and 4 lbs smoked chicken wings for my Labor Day party. Food was ready within minutes of the scheduled time. Everyone said everything was great but the smoked wings seemed to be what everyone was taking about. Very happy with the service, quality, and price. read more

This is by far the best Sonny's my family has been to! We would drive to this location before the one on Dale Mabry closed. We visited tho past Friday. Our waitress was wonderful! We were seated a little after 6 and were out before 7. Our food was fresh and so yummy! read more

Service was horrible!!! So so so slow. Like slow where when you see your waitress you make sure to order your drink, food, ask for a box and check all at the same time - while praying she'll bring you refills in between. Unfortunately my food was cold. Wasn't worth waiting to see the waitress again to wait about 30 min to get a fresh plate of food. Oh well. Maybe it'll be better next time? We have been eating at this Sonny's for the past 15 or so years, service is usually great and no complaints. This evening.... we decided to sit directly at the bar and our waitress Melanie was our server, shortly after we got there, someone (an older lady) came in and was selling or taking jewelry orders and our waitress began to spend most of her time over there browsing at the jewelry and chatting with the older lady, WELL, we ran out of drinks, but our waitress made sure to keep taking drinks over to that lady, our food must have been sitting for quite some time back there as it was cold when we finally got it. Really good food, fast, friendly service. I usually hate chain BBQ places but this one is a keeper. The sliced pork was amazing.

The atmosphere was good. We had a party of 10 here and really enjoyed ourselves. Filled our belly's and filled our hearts with good company. So we definitely enjoyed our time there. Fine for eating in but avoid for take out. They just don't care about take out. They charge you and don't give you what they charge you for. The portions are smaller and Inconsistent with what the menu says. They used to be better Update:also by the time we finished the meal we found pieces of plastic trash bag in the meat. read more

The BBQ at this location is consistantly excellent. It's hot, delicious and usually sereved quickly. The pulled chicken or pork sandwich, with a side of fries are my go to. There is a reson for that, they are always good. Great location and love the drive thru option. read more

I was in Palm Harbor on family business mid-August. As it is custom for me when I travel I seek out BBQ places. Unfortunately, I was there at the beginning of the week and was unable to try out KC Que (Tarpon Springs), only open Fridays and Saturdays. However, Sonny's is comparable to Famous Dave's, another BBQ chain which I also like. The ambiance is similar. Casual dress and environment. Family friendly. Many TVs with mostly sports playing. The food is southern pit BBQ. I had the rack of baby backs with mashed potatoes and baked beans. My girlfriend had the pulled chicken, corn and sweet potato. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Though I would rate Famous Dave's higher (the nearest one is in Ft. Meyers), Sonny's is a good second choice in the Tampa Area, so far. Until I return to try other BBQ smokehouses, this is a good meal for the money. read more

The BEST bar-b-que I have ever had. The ribs are absolutely amazing! All of the sides are so good, there are too many to choose from! I also love the great choices on the salad bar. I could eat here every night! I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area for the best bar-b-que around! The service is excellent and the restaurant is very clean and well kept. Everyone has a smile on their face when they greet you. They also have a new bar which always has something special to have with your meal, or just for a quick snack. HIGHLY recommended! read more

Usually have great experiences here. Good was tasty, good portions, salad bar selections. Last week ordered two sweet teas to go. Unfortunately, friend drank their tea and as they were enjoying the ice, discovered a dead fly frozen in the ice chips. Yuck! No plans to return. Very small portion on ribs. Ordered a "half rack" and got three very small, very scrawny, meatless ribs. It was a to-go order or I would have sent this back. Sonnys does some things well but for heavens sake I'd rather pay more money and get a normal portion than this tragic excuse for an order of ribs. Don't rip us off. read more
