I visited Soothr's LES location years ago, so when I heard they opened in LIC, I had to drag my friend to come eat with me. The chicken khao soi was flavorful, with a rich, creamy curry and just the right balance of sweet and savory. The noodles were cooked nicely, though I may be a bit biased because I like dishes with crispy noodles. Ordered the koko thai tea and thai milk tea and we both liked koko thai tea better. We also ordered the crab noodles and duck curry, both of which were great, though the texture of the duck breast wasn't quite my favorite. All the dishes and drinks came out really fast. The location is close to the other newer businesses in Queens Plaza LIC. Plenty of seating but the arrangements are very close to each other and the restaurant is generally loud so maybe not the best place for a quiet convo. The food was excellent on every order - duck spring rolls were delicious, signature noodles with crab were very good, and the waitress's reco of chicken curry noodles were even better (a little spicy!). The cocktails were also excellent but pricey (~20) - I had the Diamond and it was one of the best drinks I've had in a while. Menu is pretty big and a lot of selection. Everything we ordered here was so delicious! The Pad See Ew was my favorite, and the Khao Soi was incredibly flavorful you could really taste the perfect blend of curry and coconut in the broth. The Thai iced tea was so refreshing and not overly sweet which I really liked. The crab fried rice was also very good I just wish the serving size was a little bigger. After going to Soothr's sister restaurant Sappe, I've been meaning to check out Soothr. I finally came to the LIC location for lunch since I was in the area. The place was very spacious and I really liked the decor. My friend and I ordered the Moo Dang Puff (fried puff pastry filled with homemade diced roasted pork, caramelized onions), and their signature dish Koong Karee (sautéed shrimps in creamy egg curry sauce, red pepper, scallions, onion, celery). I really liked the shrimp curry dish since it was very creamy and flavorful. Service was good as well. Overall, the food at Soothr was better than their sister restaurant Sappe. This is about the same as the one in the city! Place was pretty packed on a Friday, so make sure you book a reservation ahead of time (as with all restaurants in NYC now). My group of four ordered crab fried rice, pad see ew, egg tofu, shrimp curry, and crispy pork. Sorry I didn't get the full name on the menu for these! Crab fried rice- Always a fan favorite and the main reason why we came. It's not oily at all, and the taste with the green sauce is phenomenal! Pad see ew- Not bad but leaning really into the sweet end. Egg tofu- Lightly fried with garlic crisps on top. This was surprisingly spicy. Also not a bad choice. Soothr was phenomenal Thai food, some of the best in NYC! I've been here a few times and all of the food has been fantastic - the dishes are creative and done really well, and they also have the more traditional Thai food as well. On to the food, which was great! The spice really creeps in, you might think it's sweet initially but that heat comes up right behind it! It's a beautiful space! And i'm excited there's a second location, because the first one is difficult to get a res. I dined as a party of 5, but the glaring issue of the night was the gap of time between each of the dishes that were served. Our appetizer was the last dish that arrived, after we all nearly were done with our entrees. Food was okay: the curries were quite sweet and the meat portions were low (i.e. there was only one serving size of chicken in the chicken khao soi). The beef in the massaman curry dish was eh okay; not much beef and the dish itself didn't come very hot. The oyster pancake that I shared with several other friends disappointed us: it is described as a "soft, chewy pancake studded with plump oysters and scallions, bound by a rich egg blanket" on the menu. I've only had the cripsy oyster pancake, but understand this version was the soft kind. But it was so soft, and not even chewy, that I wondered if it was the raw batter/if it was cooked thoroughly. Beautiful space. We have been here 3 times since they opened. Twice for lunch and once for dinner. A couple times to pick up to go orders as well. Jazz night on tuesdays is a vibe. Weekend nights if you don't have reservation you could aim to arrive right when they open for dinner. Food is spectacular and aligns with quality of east village location. I walked by this new spot while I was in the neighborhood at LIC, and glanced inside to see the decor which was so nice and then heard about Soothr from social media along with eater as well. That's what probably made this place pop and the fact that the Soothr in the city was Michelin rated. So this would be a sister restaurant or an extension to that one. Anyways, we had to make reservations to this spot. I'm sure you can walk in too, but if you have a large group better to reserve. The server was really amazing, very attentive, friendly, water was never asked to be refilled as they just automatically did it for you, and they make sure they answer all questions. The music was a bit loud so it was hard to hear at times. I did explore the restaurant and it transports you to another time and place when you're inside. They really thought the decor out. Foodwise, It doesn't compare to other Thai restaurants where it wasn't as expensive to eat at or just a hole in the wall joint. We tried thr Yum Kaw Moo and it was nicely seasoned with the Thai herbs and they claim that It would be spicy. It wasn't. I had to ask for hot sauce. Next was the Had Yai Chicken which just tasted like fried chicken without any seasoning. I tried a little bit of the Chicken Ki Mao (drunken noodles) which was spicy and flavorful. I had Mii Moo Todd as an entree and it was very disappointing. I mixed it really well and I didn't taste the seasoning. I had to add tons of chili peppers, and hot sauce to get some flavor. Love all of the red decor. They also have items exclusive to the location. Soothr is such a great addition to Long Island City and is really helping put the neighborhood on the map. I've been to their East Village location once before and remembered the food being great, but it was always tough to get a reservation -- so I was super excited to try this new LIC spot. I've already gone twice since their grand opening, and here's what I noticed: What I ordered: Had Yai Chicken Au Suan (Yaowarat Oyster Pancake) Dungeness Crab Karee Karee Pu Noodles Ba Mii Pu (Dry Crab Noodles) Tiger Prawns Ginger-Tamarind Mango Sundae Durian-Inspired Mocktail The Secret Box The Had Yai Chicken was delicious, flavorful, and crispy. It's also a great bang-for-your-buck appetizer. The oyster pancake was just okay for me; it felt a little too soft and mushy. The Dungeness Crab Karee was tasty but definitely a hassle to eat since you'll need gloves and a claw cracker. It's MP on the menu and came out to about $88, so one of the pricier dishes. The Karee Pu noodles were heavy on the sauce, while the Ba Mii Pu (dry crab noodles) leaned too bland. The tiger prawns were the biggest I've ever had, absolutely delicious but also on the pricey side. The durian mocktail dusted with gold was a fun touch. It was a bit sweet and mostly coconut-forward, but I still enjoyed it. The mango sundae is a must-order. The mangoes were perfectly ripe and refreshing. I also got The Secret Box, which includes two desserts, but I'm pretty sure I got the wrong one. I received a blonde coffee crème brûlée, which was good, but instead of the passion fruit mango cheesecake listed on the card, I got what was clearly a chocolate mousse. When I asked, the staff insisted it was passion fruit, which it definitely wasn't. I don't like chocolate much, so that was a little disappointing. The interior is stunning, very modern and sleek with cool design details. Even with a reservation, there was a bit of a wait to be seated, and service was on the slower side. The staff seemed new and still finding their rhythm. Water refills and checks took a while, but hopefully that improves as they settle in. Despite some service hiccups and a few uneven dishes, I'd still recommend Soothr LIC, especially for their seafood and desserts. Had an amazing experience at Soothr! The staff was incredibly attentive from the moment we walked in, our server was Wen Wen who was amazing but we really had a pleasant time with all the staff we encountered there and the food was just as impressive. We tried a few drinks -- the durian mocktail and a blue cocktail (can't remember the name!) -- both were fun and unique. We sampled a variety of dishes and everything was delicious and full of flavor. The standout favorites were definitely the vegetable massaman curry -- the pumpkin in it was such an unexpected combo but worked perfectly -- and the crab fried rice, which was rich, fragrant, and so satisfying. All the curry dishes came with rice, which we appreciated since some restaurants make that a surcharge. Chicken Khao Soi: the clear star. Tender meat, incredibly balanced and flavorful curry. Both soft and crispy noodles. Would get this every time I come back here. Panang Duck Lychee: a close 2nd. The duck meat is tender and I like even more than the chicken. The curry is still incredible too although I like the chicken curry slightly more. Koong Karee: an egg curry dish that is a little too rich for me but still tasty, and comes with tender shrimp. Ba Mii Ka Moo: pork on top of noodles. Very good but a familiar flavor profile (soy sauce based I believe) that reminded me of Chinese dishes. Steamed branzino: we got this in ginger soy but can get in chili lime. This was also good and refreshing as something lighter against the curry dishes. They debone it well. Don't think it's a must get. Beverages: Viet coffee snowy: got this less sweetened and packed a punch Koko thai tea snowy: less sweetened, and this was such a good drink. I'd get this next time too. Thai hot tea: I asked for this less sweetened but I think they forgot because my drink hadn't come even though everyone had. I followed up with the waitstaff on this and they gave it to me afterwards but it was way too sweet. I had to dilute with a cup of ice. The curry was creamy, and worked really well with the shrimp - my only gripe was that the portion was on the smaller side. I came here on a weekday lunch with a friend, so it wasn't too packed, but I would imagine it definitely fills up on weekends or weekday nights if it's anything like the Manhattan location. The ambiance and decor inside is really nice and makes the restaurant feel intimate but still spacious. The staff was also attentive in our orders and got our food out quickly. Our favorite was the karee pu noodles. The Panang Duck Lychee curry had a good taste but I wish the duck was crispy instead of chewy. And the Krapow beef was fine but I wish it was more of a steak cut pieces of beef rather than a short rib style. The cocktails were creative and easy to drink. We went at 5:30 on a Sunday and was seated right away without a reservation but it was completely full by the time we finished around 6:30/7pm. Overall, it's a good addition to the neighborhood because there aren't many nicer sit down Thai restaurants in the area but it is on the more expensive side for the portion size. Checked out the new Soothr location in LIC for lunch, today. We were a larger group of 11 - if that's you, or you're heading there for dinner, make a reservation. It gets packed for dinner. The staff was great, food was delicious, the space is rather large & well decorated - it's a vibe. Their playlist was also on point. I've had the original Soothr location bookmarked and on my list for the longest but haven't been yet. Subtle differences between each from chatting with friends who have been to both locations. My overall experience this afternoon was great, however, I'd like to go back there for dinner & drinks to really dive into their flavors, try a few dishes and to see what their cocktails are all about - now those, sound really good. I've been to the Soothr in East Village a couple of times before, and I never liked it as much as everyone else did. But I had to give this new location a try since it's so close to where I live. The interior is so much better and bigger than the EV one. The bar is stunning, and I love how the green countertop glows. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday night, but we were able to be seated at the bar immediately. For two people, we got the egg tofu, shrimp donut, moo dang puff, jeeb dumplings, chive cakes, and the pad see ew. The shrimp donut was really good, and the pad see ew is one of my favorite in the city. I love egg tofu, so I was excited to try their take on the dish, but I was a bit disappointed in this one. Every appetizer that we got came with a sauce, so I'm not sure why this one didn't when it really lacked any kind of flavor. I also usually love chive cakes, but these ones were way too mushy on the inside. Their cocktail menu deserves a shoutout though! All of their drinks are so pretty, and they're actually really tasty too. Overall, I think this is a great addition to the neighborhood, and I could definitely see myself bringing friends here when they come visit me. I really wanted to try out this restaurant because I heard really good reviews! Make sure you get a reservation because it was PACKED on a Tuesday! One thing about the ambiance - I noticed that the lighting wasn't the best, some areas were dark and my area was all red lighting. Also it was incredibly loud there - it was hard to hear anything even though we were right next to each other Onto the food - I really enjoyed it, such great authentic flavors! The tom yum is actually not too creamy, more so sour and the fish was so fresh and flakey! The curry was delicious as well - with lychee aromatics and the duck was so tender. Fun Thai restaurant with great ambience, they even greeted us with a perky "sawadeeka" and did the wai. Nicely decorated, felt like a semi-fancy restaurant with the interior design and menu. Dishes were somewhat pricy, I will say but at least the food was good. We got the hoi johr which is a shrimp and pork shu-mai-like dish, duck noodles, panang duck, the yum nuer which is lemongrass beef and the shrimp pad thai. I would review everything separately but it was all good honestly. The duck was very tender. Everything was well seasoned and tasty. Feel like it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, everything is imbued with flavor. My one gripe (other than the price) is that the cocktail I got was the Soothr version of a Long Island Iced Tea with a jelly mahjong tile. The drink itself was fine, did not have much of the iced tea flavor and the alcohol bite was stronger than I would've liked. However, the main thing was that this was the first time that I had a Long Island and not felt even the smallest bit of alcohol in my system. Sunday around noon and the place is hopping. The three of us were able to secure a table for 4 with no problem. Inside, the place is beautiful, with bright colors and an Asian motif. The music playing over the sound system was interesting - some modern pop and some songs from the '80's. Very pleasant. The service was great. Our water glasses were kept filled, the food was brought to the table as it was available with a quick explanation of what it was. We had apps and entrees, and, after the apps, we were asked if we were sharing our entrees (which we were), because they would take away the app plates and supply us with new, clean plates if we were going to. With regard to the food, its overall solid, but only one entree stood out as being exceptional. Here's the rundown: Appetizer - Had Yai Chicken - the chicken had a very faint herb/spice flavor. Overall, it tasted like a piece of baked chicken you could get at a lot of places. I didn't see it as worth it for $14. Appetizer - Duck Rolls - not what I expected, but very good. I expected a roll with some thinly sliced duck, but this is a mainly mushroom inside with bits of duck mixed in. There were four of them for $15. I found this interesting and tasty enough that I'd get it again. Entree - Shrimp Pad Thai - served with 8 shrimp. A decent Pad Thai. I wouldn't go out of my way to have it again. Entree - Massaman Trio - a vegetarian dish, primarily pumpkin and cauliflower based. The pumpkin was easy to cut and had a good taste and texture. The sauce was good. But I wouldn't say it was an exceptional dish. Entree - Chicken Khao Soi - this is an interesting dish with two types of noodles, a complex, delicious and spicy sauce, and a chicken leg. This was everyone's favorite, particularly the spicy and delicious sauce. The chicken leg, once we removed the bone, was moist and tender. We didn't do any drinking, but we all noted that the drinks looked very festive and people looked like they were enjoying them. Overall, the meal was good, but I don't believe the food here is superior or more interesting than other Thai restaurants (except for the Chicken Khao Soi, which was quite good). Came here 2 days after their grand opening, so I'm giving them some grace. The food was still really good, although they were still sold out of a few things we wanted. Highlights were the massaman stewed beef, chicken khao soi, and shrimp pad thai. All were very flavorful! The thai tea was very watered down and milky, I wouldn't get this again. Really friendly service and they were doing their best during opening weekend and the crowd. It is a very large and open space, however, we came at 9pm and it was really dark inside and our table of 6 was lit by one tiny lamp. Half the table couldn't see our food and we had to keep moving that tiny lamp around. We asked if we could have another one, but they told us they ran out (some tables didn't have any lamps). Hopefully they get some more soon! Overall, would come back to this location since it's convenient and hope to try some of the items that were sold out! read more

Soothr never disappoints. We were able to walk in and get a table immediately for dinner. My favorite items were the pork belly and mango sticky rice. The pot belly had such a nice contrast with the crisp and soft layers. Mango sticky rice was flavorful and the sticky rice especially was amazing. Would definitely go again read more

Came here for a birthday dinner and the staff went above and beyond writing a hand written letter and also doing a complimentary dragon dance tried both locations the one in manhattan and lic and i would say its definitely worth to check out the lic location because they have an exclusive menu. Duck noodles were delicious and the tofu dish suprised us because it was jam packed with flavor (for spicy lovers). read more
