Went for Valentine's Day. My husband and I Iooked up the menu online before we went but they had a different menu for Valentine's Day when we got there which did not have the food we saw online. This was a very pleasant surprise. We were grocery shopping and happened to see it and since it was close to lunch time we thought we'd give it a try and it was well worth it. We are new to the Raleigh area and are constantly looking for good restaurants and this is definitely one of them. We both had sandwiches which are huge and the rolls are among the best I've ever had. I had the fish sandwich and my husband had the Cuban one. We were both very happy. The young man waiting on us was really nice and was keeping a close eye on making our visit a very pleasant one. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry. I had been resisting going just because I wasn't sure from the look outside. I was wrong. The inside is tastefully decorated and clean. The staff were friendly and service was fast. Ok, but the food. We ordered the Tour of Italy( eggplant, chicken parmigiana , and butternut squash ravioli). I get home and my house was crazy so I didn't actually get to eat until two hours later. Soprano's Grill is close to our house and we finally stopped in for lunch for the first time. they have a small draft beer and wine selection, but I decided to stick with water. My husband ordered a cheesesteak and I ordered a meatball sub. I expected an average experience, but the meatball sub was quite good! The meatballs tasted homemade and the bread tasted fresh. I can't say there's anything super exceptional about the place. It;s standard Italian fare, but it's solid and the service was friendly as well. We plan on coming back! Surprisingly, the place was pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon. Hope business picks up for this place. It's nice to have a decent Italian place less than 10 minutes away. read more

My family and I love this hidden gem. The Fettechini Alfredo is the best ever. Huge portions for the price, which the price is not bad. Very large, homemade meatballs are to die for. Sopranos is...gasp...an Italian restaurant. Which means it could be what I like to call "fast food Italian" with no flavor and everything taste like tomato juice. Or it could be like Sopranos, flavorful and beyond delicious. I've tried them out a few times and so far have not been disappointed. I first tried one of the Italian sausage parmigiana sandwich, then I tried the lamb gyro (yes! in an italian restaurant!), and last I have tried the side order of two massive meatballs with a Caesar salad. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place one weeknight and decided to give it try after reading some pretty good reviews. Boy are we glad we stopped in. It has quickly become one of our favorite date night spots. We would have never guessed that an italian place in a stripmall would be this good. You HAVE to order the stuffed portabella mushrooms. They are loaded with fresh veggies and herbs. I can't speak about any of the pasta dishes (we have never ordered any of them). I have a gluten allergy but their ribeye steak special is to die for. We ordered take-out from Sopranos on 12/26/2015. We didn't know this restaurant existed until that night. We were trying to order from Frank's but they were closed. We ordered a large half sausage, half cheese pizza and a vegetable calzone. The large pizza is small - just 14" and 6 slices. Perhaps ours wasn't cut properly? We were expecting 8 slices. We also received sausage on the entire pizza instead of just half. The calzone was good. The veggies were very fresh and the calzone was packed full of them. The atmosphere was cute and the servers were nice. I'd consider going back to try a meal but I wouldn't get the pizza or calzone again. Not when we are that close to Frank's, who has a better pizza and a better calzone. read more

We found this place one day for lunch and was impressed with the quality of the food. We came back for our anniversary and was not disappointed. I had the seafood fra diavola and my wife had the baked stuffed shells. Everything was delicious. I had plenty of seafood in my dish and the linguini was cooked perfect. The prices are very reasonable. Since San Carlos has left we have been looking for a reasonably priced Italian restaurant with good authentic italian food. The service was very good. Oh my we have just left and I must say this place is awesome! The atmosphere is perfect for a family dinner or a night out with friends. A date night would be good too. The music fit the food and ambiance perfectly. Now to the food, get the homemade mozzarella sticks if you like gooey cheesy goodness. They deserve to strip Olive Garden of their motto because "when you're here it's family".... I grew up around Morris Park and Little Italy in the Bronx. I've also been invited into a lot of Italian households and this felt like my visits to those. My S/O said they need to cut down on the portions but I explained to him that that's the Italian experience.... I'll be visiting with family for my big 40....if you haven't been in awhile they've opened a new room so they can accommodate a big group. Excuse me while I scoff at these4 star reviews. This place is absolutely amazing, hands down! We just moved to the area about 2 years ago and haven't been able to find much for authentic Italian. It's family owned and operated and you feel like you're apart of it. (Especially the grandmother. She has brought our food out to us each time and has served it with love, care and passion). Marinara sauce is perfection with zero of that runny water you would get at other generic restaurants. I get something different every time and am never disappointed. Horrible service. Had to ask twice, then get my own silverware. Had to ask twice and get my own to-go box. They dropped off a pitcher of tea and never came back to the table. Had to ask repeatedly for the check. Owner checked food quality, but no one else ever touched the table. Was never offered dessert. Was charged a 20% gratuity and, when I described the lack of service, was told there was nothing they could do. Drove in over an hour to have dinner here, but will never happen again. My daughters used to come here regularly, but never again. Go to Mike's Italian just down the road. Food is as good and better service. read more

We went last Saturday and the food was great. It was suggested by multiple neighbors on our neighborhood website. It definitely did not disappoint. I hope eventually I can eat there with a bit less James Gandolfini starring at me. I think it actually takes away from the place, but that's personal taste. I have been checking out the reviews for Sopranos on Yelp. My wife and I finally ate dinner there and we were not disappointed. We were greeted and seated quickly buy a nice young gentleman. The atmosphere was quiet with Italian music playing softly in the background. We started off with two small house salads. They were very fresh and had some different items than big name restaurants. We ordered two different specials that were on the board outside. One was a four-cheese gourmet ravioli. The other was seafood special with cream and fettuccine. It had shrimp, scallops, muscles, clams and tuna. They were both delicious. We finished off the dinner with a slice of cheesecake. It was to die for and it was the biggest piece of cheesecake that I have ever seen. The price was pretty reasonable for a nice restaurant. We will definitely go again. read more

Met a couple of friends for dinner. The service was less than attentive. Although I had water, my friend had tea, our waiter Never asked us if we would like our drinks refilled. I did ask for lemon with my water and I received a small slice, when I asked for more, I received two more slices and was charged $1.00. Of course I wasn't informed I would be charged until I saw my bill! Also, they charged each of us ,50 cents for the bread. Apparently each time you ask for more bread, you will be charged. Again we weren't told that until we received our bill. The food wasn't that great either! Excellent Italian American joint with a cool ambiance, warm and inviting servers, and scratch made Italian dishes that will wow you!!! My hubby and I had the classic spaghetti and meatballs and the fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was so velvety and had just the right balance of garlic and pepper. It was divine! The food was amazing. The portions are plentiful. We had the trio of chicken parmesean, lasagna, and stuffed shells as well as the Tony's soprano special. All of it was delicious! For dessert, we opted for the cheesecake and cannoli (of course!). Also, so good. They weren't so sweet that you couldn't enjoy it. The food at Soprano's is amazingly authentic Italian! We decided to try this for my husband's birthday. Having lived in Sicily for a few years we are always looking to replicate that true Italian red sauce. We were not disappointed!! The owner's son & wife also serve their customers. The tiramisu was the best I've ever tasted and I've enjoyed many - but this was the perfect blend of custard, cocoa and liquor. Words don't do it justice We will be back.
