Awesome place for your seafood needs! I threw a BBQ recently and needed some oysters quickly, and after going to Soultran's in the past, I knew they would be a great option! I got a huge bag of 4 dozen oysters for about $40! These oysters were fat, fresh, and sweet! They were definitely a hit at the BBQ! This place is also great for other kinds of seafood, and for your seasoning needs. They can also fry your order for you, but I haven't done that myself. In the past I've bought crawfish here, which were fresh and tasty as well. Service is quick and friendly as well. I'll definitely be back in the future, and maybe a couple more times before the summer ends. read more

This place offered a variety of things that could be fried. What drew me in were the chicken gizzards. Although the gizzards are not separated from the chewy muscle part, it still satisfied my craving. However, the fried jumbo prawns came out very oily and the fried lobster was not worth the price. Not only do they have fresh delicious seafood, but they also sell all the ingredients you need to cook it up at home. Don't feel like cooking? LOVE Soultran's Seafood! I've ordered here a few times usually getting some version of soft shell crab, chicken wings, basa or sole fish, jumbo or colossal prawns, and French fries. EVERYTHING I've had here has been GREAT and reasonably priced. You get good quality cuts of meat and it's always made fresh. I've never had a bad order from Soultran's and the portions are good for family gatherings. They also sell a bunch of seasonings, cornmeal's, hot sauces, and various things for your cooking needs. Tip: If you're like me and like your fried food crunchy ask them to fry it extra crispy otherwise it'll be soft. My family frequently orders a party tray of catfish nuggets so I was pretty familiar with this spot prior to ordering. Catfish nuggets are always a hit! I recently Ordered a few party trays from here and although i never went to the store (had a friend pick them up) I was very happy with the service by phone. I wish i remembered the guys name who helped me the couple of times I called but he was patient and helpful in answering my questions. My party guests loved the food! I love SoulTran's!! I live only blocks away, and for the first few years I lived there I was somehow under the impression that their seafood was expensive. One day I went in there just to look and found that not to be ture at all (although fish and seafood in general can be expensive). Since then, I've become a regular. I have yet to get any of their fried fish. I always buy fish and seafood to take home and put in the freezer to cook later, but the quality of their fish and seafood is excellent, they have a whole wall of condiments and such (including classics like Old Bay seasoning), and the guys that work there are great. Whew, where do I begin? I'm giving four stars in spite of the confusing order process and lack of social distancing enforcement. It's a small store so they should only be allowing a few customers in at a time, but that isn't the case. Also, beware of the parking lot. It's not a lot with designated spaces so people park where they can, I heard someone come in and request for a car to be moved because the car had several people blocked. I will keep this short by saying they have a large variety of fish and seafood at reasonable prices. They sell frog legs as well. My suggestion would be to purchase and prepare at home. I bought a half pound (you must order by the pound or half pound) of Red Snapper with a side of fries, and they fry on the spot. The price was great at $8.89. In a nutshell the fish was overcooked, lacked flavor, and the oil seemed old. They sell many hard to find southern grocery favorites like Slap Ya Mama seasoning, Gumbo base, and Camelia beans. I will be back to get my things and go, I will not have them prepare my fish again. read more

Used to come here after school sometimes for fries or fried calamari since it's right down the street from the high school. This place may not be in the best area but the fish is fresh and the staff is nice and always nice! My parents come here to get fresh fish to grill or bake and I still go occasionally to get some fried fish bites! I highly recommend this market for anyone who is a fan of seafood. Very Disappointing!! Originally from Southern California now living in Modesto California not too familiar with the food here in Northern California after seeing all the instagram posts about SoulTrans my family came to visit over the weekend we decided to drive down and try it!!! Of all the people coming in and out I ordered 1 pound dover sole 4 oysters 2 pieces of red snapper his puppies and fries!! I spent around $80 went right to the car and was very disappointed fish was not seasoned or crispy large shrimp had no seasoning no batter and extremely hard the oysters were soggy and the hush puppies were extremely hard and tiny looked like gum balls!!! Maybe it was a bad day but I won't be back no hotsauce no tartar sauce!!! If ever in southern California try POMONA FISH MARKET now that's how fried fish is supposed to be !!! Maybe soultrans feels because of the instagram post they can just push the fish out any kind of way to people now !!!! Soultran's Seafood is the place to get your fresh varieties of fish, shrimp, crab! I've only tried their fried food once and wasn't too impressed. The fried food isn't seasoned & greasy. Grease also needed to be changed. However, the seafood & seafood accessories are on point. It's one of the few places that stock Louisiana seafood products. Fish Fry, Shrimp Fry, Camilla Red/White Beans, Jiffy cornbread, and seafood boil seasonings & products. Parking isn't too great either. I recommend getting your chicken wings, fish, shrimp, crab from these guys. Just cook it yourself and hope for a parking spot. read more

Hit or miss, if you like catfish it's usually the worst looking fish there. When it's milky looking don't do it, taste fishy. I used to go often but haven't been in years until last week. Like every place else's prices it's to be expected that they went up as well. Cost by the pound + 3$ lb for them to fry it..
