Went to Soya e Pomodoro for the first time with my fiancée for a much needed date night on Valentine's day. Made reservations ahead of time and when we got to there we were greeted immediately, checked in with no issues and was seated. Service was great waitress was always there when we needed her and was very kind and fast. We started with a bruschetta Classica which was topped with fresh tomatoes, basil and olive oil which were great. Both me and my fiancée got the Fettuccine alla Bolognese which was almost like a standard pasta with beef but was super delicious and left me full for the night. Soya e Pomodoro is one of my favorite places downtown Miami, I have been here multiple times and I like to come back. I especially love one part of the restaurant, it feels like you are sitting in a courtyard of a building, it is funny to see the line of clothing hanging to dry, something to resemble south of Italy streets where people wash and hang their clothes to dry between houses. I like to go on Thursdays for dinner as they have live music, it is always relaxing and a good atmosphere. If you are going on Thursdays, make sure to reserve a table where the music is, it is not too loud, you can enjoy it and still talk to your friends. This time we had baked Artichokes and Melanzane alla Parmigiana to start and then, Ravioli ai Funghi Porcini and Filetto al Foie Gras, all very tasty and with a good bottle of red Nero d'Avola wine. This place is like a hidden gem. I love it specially on Thursdays since they have live jazz music band Anne it's really good. Italian food is amazing very traditional and delicious, you almost feel like you juust arrived to italy everyone there is Italian and speak Italian and really nice, they take good care of their customers. If you ever go there ask about their hurrays it's aMazong and it's not in the menu it's a special so it's not always available. I've been lookking for this place for EIGHT YEARS! that sounds crazy right? Well 8 years ago in my freshman year of uni, I went on a date auction date to this lovely establishment. I was not really familiat with downtown Miami to best honest, rarely visited outside of the bayfront area for downtown. My friend brings me here and I was just in complete awe with the charm. Honestly, the date was perfect, but 90% of that had to do with this location more so than my date. The ambiance was so romantic and the food was so delicious. This was before I was a Yelper, so I leave my meal happy and left in complete ignorance with the assumption I would visit here again. Well jokes on me because I had no idea how to fine the location and to be honest downtown Miami has so many places that are just shut down, I figured that last year when telling my husband about this beautiful spot, it must be gone by now. AND THEN, my friend is in town and he invites us to dinner to Soya. After I looked it up in yelp, I felt like the stars aligned and it was meant to be. Now taking my husband here, it wasn't assssssss charming as I i remembered (I think they moved things around a little) but it was still REALLY DAMN CUTE. They had live music, the bookshelves still took my breath away. I felt like the lighting (I'm a lighting snob) was cute, but felt cheaply done. My recommendation for lighting would be to place some Phillips hue Gos/up lighting, opposed to the obvious strip lighting. Now the service was wonderful, the manager/owner was so king and accommodating for our party of 6. My meal was wonderful - it was somethging like gnocchi, but not gnocchi - I'll have to go back and remember what I got. I think my dish was the best of the group. I cannot wait to go backk for a romantic dinner with my husband. We haven't traveled to Italy much, but the spot was reminiscent of our time in Spain in terms of atmosphere, and it was such a lovely experience. read more

I came here for lunch and most likely wouldn't have found this place unless someone else in our party had suggested it, as the decor, food and overall experience here is quite unexpected vs. what one sees when driving by on the street. When you first peer into this restaurant it looks quite small, but the adjacent space where most patrons are seated is quite large and is completely unique in the City of Miami. It looks as if a breezeway or courtyard area between two old and ornate building exteriors was covered over with a roof and some furniture and artwork added. The walls of the dining room are stone (again, formerly the exteriors of 2 old buildings) with huge, ornate arch windows on both sides. To me, it looked and felt like a few of the places I'd dined at when in Europe. We were seated right away and given menus. When our soft drinks were delivered we also received a basket of 2 different breads and butter. I ordered the Pollo ai funghi for my main course, which comes with a house salad. The salad was quite good, and before I was able to finish it, my entree was arriving. The (supposedly hormone and antibiotic free) chicken and mushroom sauce were quite good, as were the roasted potatoes and vegetables it was served with. The price was also more than reasonable at just under $17 as well. My only possible criticism would be with the wait staff. While they were accommodating and attentive, to me they looked a bit unkempt, even what some would consider dirty. My wife and I ended up with a friend of ours at S&P on Saturday, 3/12/22, after being refused for service by Alloy Bistro since they didn't want to cater to my wife's food allergies (I wrote a full review on them, of course). My friend called S&P on the spot, and they told us they would keep the kitchen open a little longer than usual if we wanted to dine with them. This was not our first time at S&P, and we always thought about returning, not under forced circumstances though. They gave us a nice, big table near the entrance, because the main salon was packed. Actually, we ended up having the best table in the entire place. Staff was extremely helpful, took good note of all food allergies, and we ended up having a delightful dining experience. Revisited this spot after many, many years. Honestly, it's the ambiance that makes it so unique. It's eclectic and it definitely transports you to that restaurant you may stumble upon on any given night in Italy. The food is not impressive but it's not bad either. Skip the apps and order a simple pasta and a bottle of wine... then just sip and relax and take it all in. Service is average but the music is wonderful. On Friday nights you get the loveliest jazz band, Yamit and Vinyl Blvd. ... seriously fantastic! Essentially you are in an old building with super high ceilings surrounded by shelves of books and random collections of items. Went to lunch with a dear friend and business associate and he introduced me to this place. Out of all the people I know he knows good food as well as new places. So when given the choice between two restaurants one I had been to many times and here I chose this place. Located in Downtown Miami which is a bit of a challenge when it comes to parking. Luckily there was a valet for the Seybold building one block up heading west. As we enter a little before noon, still early by Miami standards we were shown a table for two. I asked if we could get a table for four which was still inside but closer to street and people watching. We started with water being that we are having a bit of a heat wave even for Miami it is a little too hot. Oh I forgot to mention this place is all outside. My friend says it is great at night. As for my next visit will be in November through March I am an AC girl. The waiter he told me the specials. He tells me they have flounder. I question him as I never heard of fresh flounder being served outside the NE on special. I questioned was it frozen and he tells me the chef is very particular. This intrigues me as flounder is my favorite. Well it comes with a nice side salad to start. There is oil and vinegar in the table. Now the flounder arrives served fresh and delicious! It also was served with fresh sliced potatoes which were lightly browned and a veggie mix that had peas. Surprisingly I was able to eat every thing my friend had his gnnochi finished as well that was served with a red sauce. They also had a nice bread basket with the most delicious bread as well. This place was truly a find! I got cannolis to go as I was too full but didn't want to miss what they would be like. Well later on in my office I opened up to discover not one but four mini cannolis to share. They were truly delicious. Nice ending to a great meal and experience. read more

My friends and I went to Soya & Pomodoro for a birthday dinner and had a great time! Our waitress, Lee, was extremely friendly, thorough, and had great recommendations on what to have for dinner. She and the rest of the staff did an amazing job at making sure we were all satisfied with our meals and kept on checking on us. I had the Fazzoletti Di Formaggio E Pera, which is pear and cheese stuff pasta with baby shrimp in a ricotta sauce. It had a great taste and accompanied well with the Gamberoni al Forno, baked shrimp served with Fregola. We had a great experience, especially with the attentive staff. I came here because a business associate was having a going away dinner there. I've driven by this spot before and had been curious about going inside but had not had the chance to so I was really excited to eat here when I heard that the food was authentic Italian. When we got to the restaurant there at 7pm there were already some people there. The fans were on but it was still pretty smoldering cause there's no AC... The restaurant is completely alfresco even though it's inside a building. There are garage doors to close off the restaurant at night so it's either totally open or totally closed. The decor of the restaurant is eclectic and bohemian. it is very charming...but still, everyone was pretty hot. Especially since they area we sat in was next to the open kitchen. As people started coming in the wait staff made no effort to join the tables together or even accommodate guests with additional seating which I found to be annoying. So I grabbed my chair and dragged it to the table that everyone was huddled up in. The server was pouring everyone prosecco as they came in so that was pretty excellent. As everyone was talking and standing around they brought out some bruschetta which was delicious because the tomatoes were a great quality. Then after awhile, we ordered our entrees. I chose the pappardelle with prawns in a pistachio sauce for only $18. OMG!! It could not have been more perfect. The pappardelle- was excellent. The prawns were fresh and had such great flavor and the sauce was was creamy and herbaceous. I ate everything on that plate. Everyone else looked very happy with their food as well. I was too full for dessert and just wanted to nap after all that pasta and left soon after. I have to say that the service was actually really good despite them not attending to our sitting needs. They always replaced dirty plates and silverware quickly. And they were very attentive to our wine and prosecco needs. I would definitely visit this restaurant again but probably on a cooler evening for an intimate dinner. It's very affordable and I look forward to trying another delicious dish. read more

I have asked previously for the lasagna and have been told that they have ran out, therefore I figure must be good. How wrong I was. The lasagna barely had any meat or cheese.
