Great sandwiches - I have had the 25, 40 57 66 72 and 85 - some of them more than once. all were outstanding and I would order any of them again. Good fries too. They also have a decent selection of beers - none on tap. This is a quick serve restaurant so don't think otherwise. read more

Tried it for the first time today, Extremely sloppy service, person taking order seemed disheveled and slow. Ketchup machine didn't work. After jumping on it for 5 minutes one of the female brought an unmarked bottle of ketchup you would find in a road side stand which gave me jitters. For such basic order and empty restaurant, order took unbelievably long. Food was pathetic. For food worth $5 they charged me $15.50. The tech boom has created lot of such restaurants in SF which should not exist. Hopefully these guys will be put out of their misery soon. RIP. read more

Nice restaurant in San Francisco's financial district. Not far from St Regis Hotel. Avocado toast and homemade sausage was fantastic. Blueberry muffins and New Jersey breakfast sandwich was great ! Large dining area. Prices were moderate for the city. Clean and friendly. read more

Seriously SPLIT? Today I was craving Split's take out order of Crispy Brussel Sprouts (with Sriracha ranch) $6.95. Since when do SIX brussel sprouts (12 halves) cost $6.95? That's over one dollar per sprout? REALLY? When I asked if I was accidentally given a half order I was told "we don't do half orders." Hmmmm, I recall the last time I ordered crispy brussel sprouts there were many more in the order? The response to my inquiry was,"Our customers were complaining the size of the order was too big, so we reduced it." Feeling like I paid far too much for far too little... :( read more

I wanted a local breakfast spot during my time in San Francisco and this California-only chain is perfect. Loaves of bread baking, delicious coffee, and reasonably priced avocado toast. What more could you want? The Mission St location even has outdoor seating in a little courtyard for perfect weather days. Once you get your order, there's also a station to add sriracha or spicy mustard, Doctor up your coffee, and get extra glasses of water. The bread needs more structure. Its very soft and my burger was a delicious patty and fresh veggies with a mushy flat bun.

They are straight up one of my San Francisco comfort foods. Love the deluxe chicken and the chicken cobb salad the best, but haven't had a bad dish on the menu. Love that they are on Caviar as well (wouldn't mind if they had free delivery though :) Staff have always been super nice and accommodating as well! read more

The bacon burger was good, but it was vastly overpriced and it was served a la carte. No fries, no salad, just one, small burger in a box. I think that they should be providing a lot more than what I got for $14. read more

I love this place! I always order the Mandarin Chicken Salad and it never disappoints but this is not the only reason I am writing this review. I want to let people know about the employee that works there, his name is Rick. This guy is a powerhouse, he runs the to go orders and is always on top of everything AND always has such a great attitude. I ordered online today and for some reason it was to the location on 4th street. I let Rick know what had happened and he took care of it, he even called the other location letting them know the situation... what a gem. So I ate a scrumptious breakfast at this place today. Guess what! It was there soft opening preview, apparently I needed an invitation. But the owners were hanging out and could obviously tell I was famished from a morning run. I ordered a side of bacon, avocado toast (poached egg on avocado and wheat) and an americano to go. Food was amazing. Staff was friendly and comical. And the environment was gorgeous. I can't wait to try new menu items and come for lunch. What a rip off. Not good value for money. A large coffee the size of a small for $4 and avocado toast total $16. Value $5.

Had the distinct pleasure of attending the preview lunch on Tuesday and Split Bread sure did not disappoint. It was not easy deciding which sandwich to get since they all sounded so temptingly delicious. Ultimately went with the chicken parm with fries and an arnold palmer. Everything was super tasty, especially the sandwich, just the right amount of crisp and sauce. The best part is this new location is just a few short blocks from my office so will definitely be adding this to my weekday lunch repertoire! read more

came here with 2 friends on friday, wanting to sit outside, but given it was such a gorgeous day, all the tables outside were taken! booo! there's plenty of space in doors though, large picnic tables to share, etc., and service is pretty fast! i had the presidio salad which had almonds and chicken, but it was kinda hard to eat cuz the greens were in large pieces but small enough that i didnt wanna cut. Lunch rush in this area is hectic but 45 minute wait for a salad is completely unnecessary. My friend ordered at the same time and received her food promptly, then had to wait 40 mins for mine so we could go eat together... waste of a lunch hour and terrible experience for both of us. I work in the building and have the pleasure of eating here often. The staff is beyond amazing and the food is always delicious. Some of my favorites: The Parfait, Mandarin Salad, Presidio Salad, any sandwich with chicken, breakfast egg sandwich with bacon of course! You can order ahead online, so that your order is waiting for you. The coffee is incredible. It's not the best pricing, yet the food is fresh and the breakfast egg dish is to die for. Don't look at the ratings of this place. It's a pretty solid place. My friend suggested me this place for a lunch an I wasn't expecting anything good but their chicken burger is pretty damn good.
