My house was water damaged and we needed to move our things into storage then they moved it to our new house. Lots of things have not made it from our old House to our new house. we will be filing a police report. thier team hve offered to help with the police. my table tennis table amongst other things was missing and the manager said they didn't take it as it was water damaged which is ridiculous it was on wheels above the water and we walked the premises. so not all your belongings may make it also the state they packed our clothes in was disgusting i run a global company and the aftercare has been poor. all in all I'm a lot poorer for the experience I hope you don't suffer it as well. Off to file my police report now Just an update on their reply. There were None of our passions in the dumpsters there was debris from the house as it was being repaired. It was my first time going to South Austin Beer Garden and it had been severely storming for the past couple of days. Long story short my car got stuck in the mud....like bad. It was bumper to bumper traffic which as everyone knows is bumper to bumper. Tay and Andrew who work here saw several people trying to help me and decided they would try to help too. They managed to pull my car out and saved me and my car Pearl. These gentlemen went out of their way to help a complete stranger. I was immensely grateful and completely satisfied with Square Cow Movers!! From the initial call with Michelle to thanking and tipping Dennis and Ryan for their integrity and hard work! I wanted to make sure they got their tip before they departed. They were excellent! Very professional, friendly and worked efficiently making sure I had all the help I needed and beyond! I was very impressed by this company Square Cow Movers! Michelle, who I spoke to on the phone was so kind and incredibly helpful! I needed to book help immediately after losing trust with another company who last minute tried to upswell me into not wanting a service I knew I didn't need or could even afford! She said I didn't need to pay a deposit that everything is paid for at the end. I love that they were willing to accommodate my needs and help me last minute! I was a bit disappointed for my own personal reasons that I would miss my niece's first dance recital and Michelle made a note on the proposal to be done by 4:30pm so I could make it to my niece's dance recital! I was blown away with their caring details of consideration on such a last minute notice! Those are the details that contribute to customer service and value! It really opened my heart and mind! If I could rate this so-called "Professional Moving Company" below a one star I would. My wife hired these guys to pack our house and move us 20 minutes farther south. Their ads say their packers are "Professionally Trained Packing Experts". This is total BS. They took absolutely ZERO care in how they packed our valuable belongings. First off, my wife has 2 closets of very expensive clothing. The packers brought in wardrobe boxes to pack the up. They did not use the rod in the wardrobe boxes. Instead they literally crammed all her clothes into the bottom of the boxes, most still on hangers. This caused damages to many of her sweaters and dresses. They completely disregarded instructions by my wife as to the care she wanted for her belongings. Next they took extremely fragile World War One era crystal and loosely wrapped it in paper and then crammed it into the very bottom of a box and then stacked heavy ceramic plates on top of it. We paid these people over $1700 to pack our belongings and they completely disrespected all of our stuff. They also totally missed an entire cabinet in the kitchen, leaving us to have to go back to the old house to retrieve all of our baking sheets and corningwear. They also completely missed an entire hall closet full of all my wife's leather coats and such. TOTALLY INCOMPETENT!! The next day was move day. They just stacked boxes on top of boxes and rushed them out to the truck, taking no care of fragile belongings. We found several items damaged and some completely broken as we unpacked the last few days. The kicker was our very expensive dining room table. Both my wife and I told these "professionals" that the top 100% had to come off the table to get the table out of the house. After not being able to figure out how to remove top for over an hour, the geniuses decided that they would try to get it out without removing top. They tried for almost another hour to get the table out, while damaging my table, the walls, the door jam, and even the floor. They even took the front door off the hinges even though I told them not to. All and all, the experience with Square Cow Moving was a disaster. Should have left this awhile ago, but we had a very bad experience with this company. They didn't pack valuable items properly, resulting in breaking a sculpture. They did pay us for that, thankfully- but took a long time and shouldn't have happened in the first place. I also couldn't find my nice jewelry after the move- I thought maybe I had misplaced it and didn't want to jump to conclusions, but it's been over a year and I still haven't seen it, so... I hired Square Cow for a unit to unit move within my apartment complex on March 1st. I've left a voicemail for a "manager" that has gone unreturned. I contacted your "South Austin" phone number, assuming I was speaking with a south Austin location. The person I spoke to on the phone to schedule my move was very friendly and helpful. I explained the details of my move, and when I mentioned I was moving to a smaller unit, I was advised that for $150, Square Cow would load up the things I didn't need to move, and haul these items away for me. This way, my apartment complex wouldn't be irritated that I was leaving large items at the dumpster. The movers arrived on time, though I was told when they arrived that they'd driven all the way from Cedar Park, what they quoted was a 47 minute drive. As I was paying by the hour (and I assumed they would be coming from South Austin), I was quite irritated to hear that. The movers were friendly at first, though extremely slow in their work. It was at least a half hour before they actually moved anything. I'm not sure what they were doing during that time. The last time I moved, the move was complete in roughly 3 hours, while this move (from one, 1 bedroom apt to another in the same complex) took 6 hours. Large pieces of furniture were left wrapped in plastic. As the move was finishing up, I sat down on my sofa to discover one (or more) springs had broken in my sofa. It made an awful noise as I sat, and couldn't support any weight. When I mentioned this, one of the guys made a comment that it "smelled like piss, so that's probably what did it." I responded saying "I'm not sure it works that way", and he blew me off. He then proceeded to tell me that they didn't do anything to break a spring. I told them it didn't behave that way the morning before it was moved, and the guy shrugged it off. Since then, I've also since discovered my dryer (which I'd asked them to install, and was told would be no issue, but was left uninstalled and wrapped in tape) is making an awful noise. While it still dries, the noise is unbearable. This has also only started since the move. I paid $150 for haul away and disposal of a bedframe, mattress, and desk. As opposed to hauling these items away, they were instead broken into pieces on my apartment balcony, and drug to the apartment dumpster. Items were left in plain view of other residents; the mattress was left lying in the parking lot in front of the dumpster. A sign on the dumpster clearly states that items should not be left in front of the dumpster, but clearly this was ignored. Bits of broken desk were left all over my balcony. This is not what I paid $150 for. There was also substantial damage to the walls of the old apartment, which I will be held accountable for. After the movers left, and I paid an astronomical $810 for a one bedroom move, I immediately contacted Square Cow. I was told the manager was unavailable, and was transferred to a voicemail. They were close to an hour late, which is never a good start. However, once they arrived, they made quick work of getting everything loaded. The drive was uneventful (from Leander to Lufkin), and everything was offloaded quickly. The ugly surprise was when I went to pay the bill, they tacked on an extra $300, which wasn't really adequately explained. The main mover said it was a "driving charge," but when I got my quote, there was a trip charge included, so not sure what the difference was. Sadly, as the company hasn't gotten back to me about that extra charge, all I can guess is that they low bid to get the job and then stuck me at the end of the job. Not sure why companies pull stuff like that. An extra $300 isn't much in exchange for a poor reputation. Recent move by Square Cow was hell. They didn't plan correctly and were running late, so they called in backup (at an additional charge) and haphazardly packed two trucks. They broke seven items worth over $2300 and charged me $1,900 for the privilege. Items broken included two desks, one a very nice executive desk, and a gun case inherited from my father. Not only did they break the items, they left the broken items on my front lawn and their garbage all over my new garage and lawn. They waited months to get back to me on the insurance claim, then declared they didn't have to pay for the items because I didn't hold on to all the broken pieces for months. I specified that we were looking to move only the furniture items from our 2-Story 2 BR apartment to a 1-Story house. We figured we (two females) would move all boxes and leave the heavier items for the movers. The $130/hr and 2hr minimum seemed reasonable, but they estimated it would take SIX HOURS to move 12 items!!! 1 Futon 1 Loveseat 1 Coffee Table 1 TV Stand 3 Bookshelves (Target: maybe 6.5 ft tall and 2 ft wide) 2 Queen Beds (Mattresses and already disassembled frames) 2 Dressers 1 Kitchen Table Why on earth would it take a two-man crew 6 hours to move 12 pieces of furniture? Showed up 30 minutes late. Told me they were there to completely move me without any time limit. NEVER once said that they would have to go after 3 hours until the 3 hours were up. The move happened two weeks ago, and while I thought they were very nice and efficient with time, my school laptop and a ChromeBook came up missing. This made me sick to my stomach. My move was in the same complex, but from one unit to another. I religiously use my laptop before going to bed to finish school work and afterwards, I ALWAYS store it under my bed. I do this because my last laptop I left on the floor one time, I stepped on it and broke the screen. When I called the company to let them know that it was not with my other belongings, the lady who answered the phone asked me "well, have you unpacked everything and looked in boxes?" First of all it was not packed, I would not have packed it because I use it a lot during the day and especially at night for school. Second, well duh, of course I looked everywhere for it! I moved boxes from one side of the room to another just to make sure it didn't get leaned up against a box. I looked in every open box, closet, and everywhere imaginable and my laptop/ChromeBook was nowhere to be found. The manager called me and told me the movers didn't recall seeing my laptop and when I asked about filing a claim, he informed me that there policy doesn't replace "lost or misplaced items." My items are not lost or misplaced. As far as I know, computers don't grow legs and walk away. One of the guys moving my stuff at one point was carrying a backpack which I thought was odd because I'd never seen a mover wear one when moving. The manager at first stated that no backpacks were on site the first time I talked to him, but later said that the guy got it out of the truck because he needed some tools to disassemble/reassemble my bed frame. I don't go around accusing people of things, but all I know is that my laptop and the ChromeBook were in my unit before they came and it's been about two weeks since the move, more unpacking has occurred and still no laptop or ChromeBook has been located. I am a single mom and can't afford to replace this item. Yes, I have looked everywhere in my old unit and it's not there. All I want to my belongings returned to me. read more

Just don't. They ruined the outside of my black stainless steel refrigerator and walls in my house. I had explained to the movers that the reason they were there was to move the heavy items so that I wouldn't ruin them. After waiting about two months, they sent me a check for $345. The refrigerator is a year old and was $4k! All the doors need to be replaced and that is no where near the amount it will cost us. Just don't. I have used Square Cow on several occasions over the past few years, both for my office moves and for my own home. They have always been really fabulous and all of their crew give me a feeling that I am important, and that my stuff is just as important as their own stuff. They are great interacting with my kids, have taken extra slow and special care with fragile items, and have worked tirelessly. I had one occasion where a small item broke (it was pretty old and the wood was very weak.) They brought it to us right away, were super apologetic, and one of their managers took personal care to get it repaired for me. They brought it to my new home a few weeks later, fully repaired and it was much stronger than ever before! I give them 5 stars for sure, and that really applies to each of the 6-8 times I have used them in the past few years. read more

We used this company with just a few days advance notice. They were friendly and competitively priced. They moved an antique piano( which is insanely heavy), a pool table and a bed for us... 3 guys came out and they worked very efficiently. They wrapped up the pool table very well. And I felt very secure about it. they didn't charge us for drive time bc there was a huge accident on the highway so that was very cool... bc honestly I think that is NOT ok to charge the client for drive time to the pick up location... unless it's a discounted driving rate, not the same rate as hard labor moving... I suggest a change to that policy anyways I would likely use them again if I have to move heavy things :) read more

My husband called them on a Friday hoping that we could secure something in time to get moved into our new house the following day, luckily they had some time available! We contracted Square Cow Movers for a move from Texas to California. While all of the workers we interacted with were courteous, they were slow and did a poor job of packing / protecting our items. Move out day was changed day before because they couldn't get a truck. Seriously, a moving company for which a move was scheduled well in advance could not find a truck to load our belongings. This was especially problematic because we had flown into Austin to assist the packing and loading process, but they could not load when we were there (even with a day cushion). They left numerous items at our house (cabinets full of games, yard tools,...). We requested our furniture be protected by moving blankets and not paper. This was a huge up-charge, and then they didn't fully protect the items leading to a bunch of scratches and dings. Almost every piece of furniture we had was damaged in some way. The loading was horrible. At least 5 items were completely crushed, and they just tossed all of our lampshades in the back of the truck with no protection whatsoever. The delivery was even worse. We had two drop off locations and items were very clearly marked to indicate which belonged at which location. Everything was randomly thrown into two trucks so the workers had to literally climb over our stuff to find the appropriate items. For the second location, we warned management multiple times that they would not be able to get a large truck down our driveway and would need a shuttle truck to get items from the road to the house. The workers had no idea about this, and their management put them in a potentially very dangerous position. We had to make a number of frantic calls day of to get them to bring a shuttle truck to the second location. More of our belongings were broken and crushed. All in all over 30 items had considerable damage so we had to file a claim. This process just completed 9 months later. Both Square Cow and later their insurance company made it very difficult to get reimbursed for the damage. As you can imagine, I had to repeatedly check in to keep the process moving. Again the workers were all polite, they just lacked training or the care to do the job well. Management was also polite, but they are incompetent. I waited about 2 months to write this review until my issue was resolved and I could fairly asses SquareCow Movers. It's safe to say I won't be using this company again and wouldn't recommend them to my friends, but use at your own risk. I scheduled a one bedroom move with them and their customer service was fine. I was able to schedule my move pretty easily, however I didn't get a confirmation that my movers were coming so I had to call the day before to make sure they were coming at the right time. No big deal. Day of the move they showed up 15 minutes late. again not a huge deal to me but I know the time starts when they leave their facilities. Which sucks. Anyway, they get to my apartment and quickly read through the contract and asks me to pick an insurance option they have. I select the .60 -lb option because I'm thinking they're professional they do this for a living, I don't have much to break except for my TV. Well...4 hours later they break my TV. Completely shattered the screen. I'm not sure how it happened and I understand accidents happen but jeez the one thing you're not supposed to break they break ‍. I've also had cheaper movers who finished the job in half the time with the same amount of furniture that I found on Craigslist. Well lesson learned! While they did refund me $265 for my TV (which I'm thankful for) 2 months later since the claim had to be processed I still had to shell out $800 for the move and a new TV that day. It was just a huge hassle. But the managers were remorseful and answered my questions when I called for updates. If you are going to use Square cow movers I would supervise them from start to finish and probs get the insurance . I'm giving two stars because of the price of the move, time it took, and for dropping my TV, but also refunding me some money back. read more

We moved from South Austin to Leander and these guys were amazing! They were on time, efficient, clean, and very polite. They were able to move our large gun safe (615lbs!) into our new house. We were quoted that it would take around 7 hours because of the drive and the amount of stuff (we had a 3-bedroom home, 1500 sq ft), but the movers were so efficient that it only took 4.5 hours. RUSHED AND DISHONEST!! Our family moved in March of 2019. (the distance was 10 min. away) The process of getting the quote and scheduling the move went fine but things went downhill from there. Two trucks were scheduled and one went to the wrong zip code and was 30 min late. I flagged two antiques to take extra care of. We had 5 movers, and they are required to carry large items in pairs. One individual repeatedly carried items by himself trying to rush the move process. Once the move was complete we walked the property(should have done this with them). One of the two antiques was dropped and the legs shattered. This table was hidden behind large items in the garage and never disclosed. Unacceptable behavior! I did contact the company and my antique table was repaired, but I can never recommend this company. read more

I used this company in my last move from one apartment to another one in the same apartment complex. They sent 3 inexperienced guys that tried hard but really didn't know what they were doing. If just one of them had experience, the whole move would've have gone significantly better I think. It took almost 9 hours!!! That's moving a two bedroom apartment from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor right below (same building, same hall). They destroyed an antique card table and chair set that was very sturdy and had survived several moves, including the one from Alabama to Texas, scratch-free. It had also survived in my family for 4 generations. I cried when I took it to the dumpster, but I saved a drawer face to remember and use. The dumbest thing they did though was in disassembling the beds. One queen and one twin with frames made to easily and quickly pop in and out of the headboard/footboard and they managed to completely screw them up. Not only did they remove dozens of screws and break down pieces unnecessarily on both beds, but they didn't remember how to put them back together and my son and I had to spend several hours fixing the queen before I could sleep! They just covered up their mess and pretended it was finished. We stored the twin until recently, and I had to go through the same thing again when we moved into our new home (using fantastic company this time- Jackson of All Trades!) and found they had taken literally every screw and bolt out of the frame! I had to position and screw in the metal pieces at the ends of each side rail that fit into the headboard and footboard. It wasn't easy. And completely unnecessary and ridiculous. Additionally, my furniture was aged with nics and several deep scratches. The whole ordeal was so frustrating and exhausting I had to resolve to just let it go, learn my lesson, and look forward to new furniture once my son graduates and inherits this stuff, which would've ended up looking the same anyway. I did present all of these issues to the company and they agreed to credit me so I ultimately only paid for 4 of the 9 hours. However, I would've chosen a full payment for a decent move. I will not use this company again; they cost more in mental anguish and furniture destruction than you save even if you get it all free in the end. If you value your time and belongings, keep looking! read more
