    Pad Woon-Sen

ordered duck pad woonsen which was listed as $20 on the menu, received shrimp pad woonsen with only 2 pieces of shrimp (see pics, I literally dug through the entire dish for more and there were none). I told the waitress I had ordered duck, not shrimp, to which she said "well the pad woonsen is with shrimp" even though in the menu it says you can choose your meat and does not specifically come with shrimp. I said "OK well I had said duck" and she looked blankly at me. I was okay with getting shrimp instead of duck (even though I had said duck and wanted duck, I also like shrimp) but 2 measly pieces of shrimp is still not enough variation/protein for this dish. Also the dish itself lacked flavor (again, probably bc there was no protein to give it any flavor). There are so many great thai restaurants in SF, so I don't see why I would ever come back here after the food quality & attitude. My friend ordered the duck fried rice and it tasted better (more flavor) than my pad woonsen, it also actually came with duck!!! but not that many pieces, which I suppose is not unexpected as most places skimp on duck, but I was very disappointed in my dish and the service.

I visited King's Thai Cuisine #2 on July 30, 2026 around 12:30 PM. I want to start by saying a server named Tan was absolutely great! Unfortunately, another waitress on shift completely ruined the atmosphere with her terrible attitude and lack of customer service. You could sense her bad mood immediately through her tone, mannerisms, and body language. I watched her be incredibly nasty, short, and direct with another table. When a customer tried to make a payment, she literally overrode what he wanted to do. She also rudely snapped at someone to keep the lid on the sauce if they weren't using it. If you are having a bad day, you shouldn't come to work and take it out on paying customers. I actually left to go to the bank specifically to pull out cash to tip Tan for her great service. However, I ended up withholding my funds when I was told the tips are split and half of my money would go to the rude waitress. Tan deserved a great tip, but I refuse to subsidize terrible customer service. Management needs to address this because that kind of attitude is just bad for business. (Rely to you comment) Hello Katrina, I need to clarify my review because you completely missed the point. I never complained about your policy or being charged for extra sauce. I have dined here before and have happily paid for it. My complaint is entirely about that specific waitress's overall lack of professionalism, her condescending tone, her nasty mannerisms, and HOW she chose to speak to paying customers. Enforcing a policy does not give a server the right to be rude. Furthermore, the person I dined with has been dined at this restaurant for over 30 years and knows the owner. He completely agreed with me that her service was unacceptable and stated that in three decades of eating here, he has never seen anyone treat customers that way. Please address your staff's attitude problem rather than hiding behind operational guidelines. Blessings,

Loved the food! Especially the Tom yum seafood and the green curry salmon!! The service was great and it was a nice spot by the window so it was a very good place to catch up with friends after the farmers market on Sunday.

Great Thai comfort food. Ordered pumpkin curry, bbq pork/fish cake/minced pork noodle in chicken broth, and chicken skewers. All tasted delicious. I can eat that noodle soup everyday. I really like the onion / shallot flavors and the soft flat noodle. It reminds me of the street hawker soup noodle I had in Bangkok. No wait on a weeknight at 6pm.

The absolute best fried rice and fried chicken breast! Not sure what they do to this chicken but the batter is perfectly light crispy crunchy flavorful and delicious! I saved some because the portions are huge! And my husband tried it hours later and raved about how good it was even then! The rice is flavored with garlic onions eggs it's just perfection! It was delivered so I don't know how the restaurant is inside but the packaging was perfect you can tell they take pride in their quality of food ingredients presentation and o real service. I will make a point of visiting to sit down inside to enjoy the ambience.

I had the pad Thai and panang curry. Honestly, the pad Thai was pretty lackluster for me as it felt way too wet and saucy. I don't think I've had a pad thai quite this texture before which came as a shock to me. The curry was good but tasted pretty standard. Overall not my most favorite thai spot

Used to be my favvv Thai in the city. Still poppin and still neighborhood staple. Pad see ew: idky there were only like very few pieces of tofu. Tom kha (coconut soup): just ok! Wish it came in a hot pot.

Another restaurant I've now tried 2x that I never went to before Covid. I prefer the Pad See You (spelling always changes) over pad thai so that is what I got along with the Crab Rangoon. Also got a Thai Iced Tea I know the latter is such a Western addition to the Thai menu but I love it and they do it well. . My wait was only 10 minutes so I walked around and checked out a few other places and voila. Update been here many times since Covid and it is my local late night goto

Angel wings and pad see ew with 2 pieces of beef only

Came here at 10pm for a quick bite and ordered 2 dishes with my partner. Pad see ew with beef (apparently only comes with 2 pieces of beef) & Angel wings Spoke to the server kindly when we realized that the entire plate of noodles came with 2 pieces of beef only. We were thinking that couldn't be right. Server checked in with the owner of the restaurant who didn't approach us directly which is odd. I even showed a picture of the noodles to the server because we did eat some of the noodles already. They said it was impossible that there was only 2 pieces of meat and couldn't do anything about it and will let the kitchen know. That isn't impossible if that was what we got...

Everything is definitely delicious, service is fast and friendly, ambiance has mood lighting but I can see my food which is always good for me. It's always worth my hour drive.

Back when King of Thai used to call this space home, all of my visits seemed to come when it was either late into the night and/or when I was...somewhat less than sober. Which, not so coincidentally, is probably why I never knew I hadn't written a review for them. However, ever since King's Thai has taken over, it's pretty clear the nature of my visits have also changed, even if nearly everything else about this place is largely the same. Honestly, between how the decor and the menu look almost identical to King of Thai's, I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing that has changed is the name above the door! While this location looks all too familiar, I will say that this place is a bit nicer looking compared to the other King of Thai's that I've been to. As a whole, the decor is a bit more modern, with a lot of dark and warm tones, but it's far from the trendy vibe that Osha Thai puts out. As for the menu, it's pretty much the same as King of Thai's, but I have to admit I don't remember it looking this interesting (like I said...less than sober). From their appetizers, noodle soups and curries to their fried rice, rice plates, and stir-fried dishes, there's a good variety of both common staples, like Pad See Ew and Kao Gra-Pow, and offerings I see less often, like Guay Tiew Nuer Puir and Roasted Duck Curry. -- FRIED CHICKEN OVER FRIED RICE - Deep Fried Marinated Chicken Cutlet Over Thai Fried Rice...$17 Pretty Solid. The batter was nice and crispy and the chicken itself was fairly moist, but I wish the taste of the marinade/seasoning had been stronger. As for the rice, I liked that it wasn't overcooked, wasn't too salty, and had a nice hit of white pepper. -- GUAY TIEW NUER PUIR - Egg Noodles with Beef Stew, Spinach, and Bean Sprouts in Beef Broth...$19 I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but it was surprisingly good! The noodles had a nice bite and I liked that the chunks of beef stew were quite tender. The broth was rich and flavorful too, though it was definitely on the fatty side. -- PAD KEE MAO with Chicken - Stir-fried Flat Rice Noodles, Fresh Chili Garlic Sauce, Minced Chicken, Long Beans, Bell Peppers, and Basil...$16 Not amazing, but it was a very comforting dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I really liked how well all of the flavors came together. That said, I do wish the dish had more heat to it and that it wasn't quite so oily. -- ANGEL WINGS - Deep Fried Wings Glazed with Sweet Spicy Garlic Chili and Topped with Crispy Sweet Basil...$13 Not as good as my favorite Angel Wings out there, but better than most I've had. The wings were hot and juicy and, more impressively, the batter still had a nice crunch under the glaze, which was great, but a touch too sweet. -- GREEN CURRY with Chicken - Medium Spicy Green Curry, Coconut Milk, Bell Peppers, Bamboo Shoots, Eggplant, Basil..$16 I LOVE green curry and this didn't disappoint! The curry packed a nice punch, there was a good amount of chicken, and I loved the mix of vegetables they put in. I do wish the curry had been thicker, though, as it felt very runny/thin. -- KAO GRA-PROW with Pork - Sauteed Minced Pork with Bell Peppers and Basil in Special Fresh Chili Garlic Sauce...$16 I had a major craving for this and it was so satisfying. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it'd be, but the sauce was still quite delicious and there was a fair amount of pork and basil. I just wish there were more bell peppers and a fried egg! As far as service goes, it may not be the greatest I've ever experienced, but, across all of my visits, I can't say I've run into the types of issues that other Yelpers have mentioned. Yes, there have been times where I've seen the servers hanging around the counter and chatting, but they're still attentive to when customers hail them and they usual float around to check if anything is needed. What's more, the servers have always been really nice and they even made a point of verifying my friend's identity before confirming he left his credit card behind/returning it to him when we went back to reclaim it, rather than just handing it over blindly. Between how the food has been consistently good, the lack of a wait for a table, and how they stay open until midnight (especially rare and appreciated on this side of the city), I find myself coming here more often these days than I did to their predecessors. There are definitely better places in SF for Thai food, but when factoring in convenience and proximity to me, King's Thai is definitely nice to have as a reliable go-to!

They text you when your table is ready and got have about 5 minutes to get there. Right away I knew I wanted the Khao soi which I got with tofu. This was beyond delicious, but I wish they have more broth. I've had Khao soi before but it was a bit more broth which made the noodles less dry. Also I wish the tofu was cut into smaller cubes, the tofu wasn't very crispy which made it pretty bland and one dimensional. Other than that it was very good. The Thai tea was also good, not too sweet which was perfect. The duck breast curry had a similar taste to the Khao soi but the duck was one of the beast we had. Super moist and flavorful in the broth, definitely one of the best dishes of the night. Also the beef fried rice (Khao pad mun neur) was cooked well, my favorite was the flavor of the fried rice. Had a smoky wok flavor to it which made it addicting. The ambience was very nice my favorite was their music playlist. Was nostalgic and gave good vibes in the restaurant. Definitely a great experience and worth a try when in the city. I would come again for the duck curry and maybe the Khao soi with a different protein or ask the tofu to be extra crispy.

We ordered the same short rib beef fried rice but tried the curry chicken noodle soup this time which had a crispy fried ball of noodles topping a bowl of mild, spicy curry broth, soft noodles and chicken. It was very good. For the first time, we ordered their Chinese broccoli which was sliced into smaller pieces and surprisingly very good. We were full but decided to get the pandan kaya toast with large scoop of coconut ice cream to share since we've not ordered this in a long time. The chefs cooking that evening were doing a great job as the flavors were delicious.

Every bite and sip was delicious. We ordered family style and shared everything. The service was also fantastic, even though we got there late and didn't realize until the food was beginning to come out that it was last call, our server and all the other workers that came by were all so friendly and made us feel welcome. We ate quickly and boxed the rest so they could get home. What we ordered: Tom Kha soup - coconutty, creamy, a lil sour and a lil spice. Delicious. Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. It was all three of us' first time trying Durian and we loved it! Creamy and a little funky but the black rice and sauce emphasized its natural sweetness. Spiced well and very filling. We didn't expect the pork to be cut so large and mixed into the rice, but it was very tender and easy to still eat. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish. Filling portions and did not overcook their noodles. You can taste each component of the dish, which speaks to everything not being under or overcooked. We ordered nuts on the side but you would be quite satisfied ordering this if you like pad thai! 4.5/5 - Pad Gra Prow - Appropriate veggie to beef proportion and very flavorful.
