A year ago, I gave them five stars without question, but unfortunately the quality of the food has gone way down. Everything was really sweet (I got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage. With a trip to Sac this morning I decided to go to the original off Florin. This location never disappoints, the service and ambiance is significantly better than the strip mall in Elk Grove. We came here about 10am on a Sunday. We wanted to try this place the last time we were in the area but for some reason we did not. It was pretty busy and there was a short wait which ended up being about 5 minutes. It is a smaller place with a main room with booths and counter seating, a smaller back room and some outdoor seating. We were seated in the back room which has about 5 or 6 tables. We perused the menu which is quite extensive and focused on southern comfort food. We made our choices and place their order. Our entrees were delivered in timely fashion and looked really good. I've been coming here since I was little, everytime I visit its always a great experience. The staff is friendly, service is fast, and the food is always amazing. I always get their chicken fried specials, it's portion size is perfect, and at times will fill me up before I can finish, which is rare.
