I called Stanley Steemer a couple weeks ago. I asked them do they do hardwood oak floors they said yes so we made an appointment. That was yesterday. I got up early. I moved all the furniture and even heavy furniture out of my living room & dining room and waited for them to arrive. They changed the arrival time about three times, anyway when they got here the guy said he could not do my Oak floors. I moved all my furniture for nothing and I have never hired anybody that came to my home and said they couldn't do the job I hired them for. Five thumbs down on Stanley steamer they wasted my time. Very happy with the work they did! Service was top notch and definitely worth every penny for the work they did. Now, to be fair, I've had them before but just for the Air Duct and Vent cleaning which I was very happy about. When Miguel & Andres came (we decided to do carpet and our couch this time and also added air duct again), the first thing that Miguel said was, "We've been here before for Air Duct Cleaning in 2023. And after inspecting your air ducts, they're still clean." I was thinking, "Whaaaat!?'!!? They're not just going to clean and collect money. They're thinking what's best for the Customer!" I'm so used to businesses that would upsell all kinds of service but these guys were thinking what's value for the customer! That's RARE! Both guys went right to work (arrived early as requested) and I thought since I was Working From Home that it would be loud and annoying. Nope. It was perfect and they even catered to making sure that working in my office to clean based on the deadline of the projects I was working on (editing for the Noon show). They were very efficient and even went was far as vacuuming the vents (didn't need cleaning but he heard a noise coming from the vent and found out it was a rock). The other thing that impressed me was that these guys cleaned the vent cover which I thought I had to replace (pix included). After using other rug cleaning companies and being less than happy, we called here. Wow, we were glad we did' The service tech was top notch! Professional certainly, but very friendly and explained as he went showing us how much better our rug was looking as he cleaned. He was great about cleaning up excess water as he shampooed the rug. Color me impressed~ My elderly father had a rodent infestation. Living close to the hills it has happened a few times over the past few decades. We called in an exterminator company. And in order to do a deep clean, my daughter researched many carpet cleaning companies. As you may or may not know this particular occupation does not have the greatest of reputations... Add that to my already suspicious nature I let my daughter handle the whole thing. She hires STANLEY STEEMER. They come, I come they are very professional and working very hard. It's a deep deep cleaning and disinfecting. He has very high quality carpeting and oriental rugs, we didn't have to tell them, they told us! They took their time. They were extremely careful of the furniture. Heads up they do not move furniture, I don't think any cleaning companies do. While they are working I think wow carpets are looking great! The next week I'm checking the carpeting daily... WOW it still looks great! It was clearly cleaned nicely... Some reviews said spotting came back after their carpets were cleaned, I imagine that can happen in worn spotted carpets they cleaned ours they didn't lay new ones. LOVED THE SERVICE! In 20+ years of using these guys I had my first negative experience. First the price magically went up when the guy arrived. He referred to my rugs as oriental rugs--just because they are wool, so that increased the job price by $123-not sure how that was calculated-then one of the rugs did not come clean and still had a smell after the deodorizer --another $37.80 charge--was applied. Waited until they dried but still a problem. I called and they sent back the same guy who said he did his best and I told him NOT getting the rug clean and deodorized was not the goal and requested a refund which he promised. A week later, still no refund so I phoned the office and got a person to whom I told the story, and still no refund. I've never had a problem with these guys and now they are off my referral list. read more

We moved into a lovely rental townhouse with white (yes, white) carpeting. The owner did her best to clean the stains using chemicals and a carpet brush but it still looked dirty. With a little poodle, I had concerns so I called in the big guys - Stanley Steemer. I have used this company in three different states and have never been disappointed. I scheduled my appointment on line, got a reminder call the day before, another call right before the appointment to let me know they were on the way, and the cleaning van pulled up at 12:30pm (my appointment was between 12p-2p). They did 3 bedrooms, hallway, stairs, living and dining room in about 90 minutes. While the white carpet didn't look new - it was 90% cleaner than when they started. My only gripe is that I can never find coupons or promo codes for Stanley Steemer. I guess with this quality, they don't need to because I paid full price. read more

Literally since I was a kid in my head I can hear "Stanley Steemer gets your home CLEAAAAANER" with the jingle and all so naturally my auto response was to try them out. From the moment I called and spoke with John (I think), whom was so friendly, knowledgeable, sweet and helpful, to the time they arrived (NEXT DAY!) I was pretty impressed. I live in apartment and mine is at the back of the whole building and property so it was a little challenge but the guy (didn't get his name!) was patient and found a way to get everything done without having to use a portable device. He was clear about expectations, mostly the stains on the carpet that may not be able to be removed and at the end even provided my roommate and I with those little plastic booties for our feet! We contacted the San Leandro location and set an appointment a couple days ago . They offered us a choice of a few three hour arrival windows. We choose the 9am to 12pm window. They sent a couple reminders and Covid19 instructions. They text us at about 9 saying the tech would be on his way top our house. Within 30 minutes our guy arrived. His name is Lance. He explained in detail everything he would be doing. Lance delivered...our rugs look and smell clean and we are very pleased with the service we were provided. Thank you Lance for a job well done. If your management reads these reviews I hope they know what an asset you are to their operation. Stanley, came out twice-the second time a week after their first cleaning due to the poor outcome. The techs are prompt, friendly and fast-so fast that it took longer for my car to be cleaned at the neighborhood carwash than it took them to inspect the carpet, unload equipment (carry it up 2 flights of stairs), clean 3 room (+ entry/hall), pack-up (leaving the entry door to the building wide open on BOTH visits). I am very disappointed-the low traffic areas look good but the med-high traffic areas look unchanged from pre-cleaned state; I don't know if they have a strict time cap per appt, use inferior cleaning products or both. Great service! I scheduled my appointment for a Saturday, but last minute my schedule changed, and they let me change the time to a next day appointment instead on very short notice with no problem. Great customer service, and they texted 20 minutes before they arrived to alert me that they would arrive soon. The cleaning staff were very professional and polite, offered a lot of help moving a few large heavy furniture items. They were able to remove all stains, and even advised me on how to lessen the drying time once the cleaning was done. We had our carpets cleaned one week ago. Since that time we have told everyone who will listen about the work done by the men from Stanley Steemer. We had moved most of our small furniture, but they were eager to move the rest. They carefully attended to all of the spots on the carpet (it is white!) and got all of them out. We had spots from plants, rust from a table, coffee stains, a magic marker and more that have all disappeared The men were speedy and professional. They did not pressure us into adding on services and we are so thrilled!!! We will hire them every year from now on. The price they quoted on the phone is the price we paid. My kitchen floors have never bwen cleaner!! The color seal reallt made a great difference. PROS: Workers were polite & accommodating. Scheduled just a cleaning & color seal for my kitchen, bathroom & laundry area. On site ended up adding cleaning of my laminate hardwood floors & the crew was very helpful evem went back to the shop to get the tools to complete this service CONS: After SS left i noticed that they dumped the dirty water from the cleaning down my tub which needless to say was filthy so i had to clean that up. It would have been nice if they would have asked where would be a great place to dump thw water. When bringing in the equipment they chipped paint on my new exterior paint, luckily im still under going to house repairs that the contractor still has to do final touch up work. My laminate flooring had speckles of paint from painting the walls in my living & dining rooms which was they main reason I added the last minute laminate floor cleaning however after the cleaning there were still painy speckles were i had to go back to my original plan and clean the floors by hand to insure to get the speckles up. Which i am still in tje process of doing. OVERALL: I will definitely call SS again for my kitchen & Bathroom Tile & grout cleaning however ill stick to cleaning my laminate the old fashion way. :) read more

This company may clean carpets well, I don't know. We hired them to clean tile and the grout between the tiles and they assured us they could do it with with a steam cleaning machine. Surfaces of the tiles were cleaned well but the grout was barely cleaned, at which point they tried to sell my husband on an expensive "coloring of the grout" technique, which he refused. I watched a You Tube video on cleaning the grout and found out how to do it with vinegar, baking soda and dish soap and a special brush and grinder you can buy at a hardware store. In hindsight I realize the coloring option they were trying to sell would just cover up dirt they did not clean, and the sealer they applied made it harder even to clean the grout (there was a bathroom they did not clean and I got that tile grout cleaned quicker without the sealer). So! Be careful. I wonder if any company can clean dirty grout but know there is a way to do it, just not the Stanley Steamer way. read more

Needed carpet cleaning after neglecting my carpets for seven years with a toddler and two dogs. One room was particularly bad like four years old food stains on probably close to 25% of that room. Booking was easy and rescheduling was as well. I was given a 3 hour arrival window and morning of got a text when they were on the way with a tracker. But they also sent a picture of my foreman! Such a nice thing to do. I know the big yellow logo truck is obviously, but it's really nice to know WHO you are expecting. They arrived at the start of my estimated window and did a quick tour. I felt really bad, but Isaac and Javaren were really nice about it and made me feel better about the state of my carpets. They noticed my closets had carpet and made sure to clean in there as well. They got to work super quickly. 3 bedrooms and two hallways in just over an hour. I was shocked! And my carpets look like the day I moved in! I also opted to deodorize them because I had dogs, and they smell so clean now! I am so impressed and glad I opted to have my carpets professionally cleaned as I never would have gotten them this amazing. They asked me to check their work and I was nervous about going upstairs with my dirty feet, and they were sweet enough to give me a pair of booties. Overall solid service and customer service! They (Bart and Gabe, not the cats) were diligent beyond my expectations: They carefully and completely vacuumed, cleaned and disinfected a disgusting smelly mess that defied description: dried-on cat crap and litter, vomit, urine stains--you get the picture. They were extremely helpful and their work was quick, thorough and professional. I had not known that Stanley Steemer was a franchise. This one is based in San Leandro and services all of Alameda County.
