I like seafood but usually not go to boiling crab store because some restaurant taste too salty for me so that I had to drink a ton of water after meal. We ordered mild spicy crab here and It was not too bland , not too spicy. Excellent food, friendly server, spacious table (there were family about 10 people at the same table), and they has Baskin Robbins next door also. You can go eat dessert right away. Tried to go this place twice and it was terribly ran. The first time they closed 30 minutes early and wouldn't allow us to go in and eat and the second time they only allowed take out after 8 pm when they closed at 10 o'clock. Absolutely ridiculous!! Review by someone not entirely familiar with cajun food or legit cajun food. Got this for delivery on door dash. Decided to give it a try with no expectations and it was very, very good. All the seafood came in bags, we got a pound of shrimp, half a pound of green mussels, clam chowder, garlic bread, breaded shrimp, and sausage. Everything was fresh and tasted super, super good. The shrimp and mussels came with sauce and spicy options and came in a bag soaking in the liquid. They were both very tasty. They have something like 5-6 spicy levels, and we're always curious to try the highest level to see if the place actually does spicy, so we got the "911" on the mussels. Yes. It is spicy. Be warned. It is legitimately spicy. I could only eat one and it burned my eyes and mouth for a good ten minutes after downing milk. Husband was able to eat them all at great pain to his stomach the next day. Still delicious, but I would definitely get less spicy next time. I got the medium for the shrimp and it was perfect. Still enough to make my nose run a bit but not dying of pain. Garlic bread was soft and actually garlicky. Breaded shrimp was goods just right so the shrimp wasn't shrivelled up and sad and the breading was light. Clam chowder was good as well. Husband said sausage was perfect. Really, really good food. Price is worth it in my opinion and we'll definitely be back. read more

Was craving for some Seafood boil so came here as a first timer. We arrived around 6:20PM, it was really dead. But we didn't mind that at all because that meant we didn't have to wait for our order to be taken and the food would come out quicker. But I would have to say the customer service upon walking in was okay. We walked in and wasn't greeted or anything. About 6 minutes later the female host finally caught us at the door and seated us It was the three of us in the party, we decided to order the family bucket which was the Shrimp Star. It came with a total of your choosing 3 pound of either shrimp, clams, crawfish, green mussel or black mussel. We got one order of the shrimp star with shrimp and crawfish, another bucket of the shrimp but with green mussel. Of course it also came with a pound of corn, potatoes and sausages. We got the Full house sauce choice in medium and that was the perfect spice level for the three of us. We just dumped all our food on the table, devoured it with some rice. Sadly i couldn't get a photo because i was just starving and couldn't wait to dive in, but i would recommend coming here if you are in need of a seafood boil fixing ! Delicious! We came here as a family of 5 adults for New Years Eve. It was not too busy and the service was great. We started off with appetizers of fried okra, fried catfish with Cajun fries and I ordered the clam chowder. All of the appetizers were fabulous however the clam chowder is a little thinner than I like it. I know some places serve it more "brothy" and that is how it was. OMG the Cajun fries are addictive so be forewarned. We all ordered the Shrimp Star Family Bucket spiced Full House Medium (I am a spice wimp so my family was nice and kept it less spicy for me) with 2 pounds of head on shrimp and 1 pound of black mussels. We added on a pound of Alaskan King crab and another pound of black mussels both also Full House Medium. To say we were full is an understatement we were stuffed! Everything was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender and full of so much flavor. My husband and I love love love this place. We have been here twice and both times the food and service were great! I love how this place has bundles instead of ordering everything separately. Everything was perfect. The woman that attended us was very nice. We ordered to go because we were driving through with our RV to our campsite and ran into some complications with check in. We got lucky and parked right in front of the restaurant. I walked in and placed my order. I mentioned that we were eating in the RV. The order was ready quickly and the order was prepared so perfectly for my family and I. She added extra napkins, plates, and silverware it was just a really nice touch. I agree with all the 5 star reviews! This place is delicious! There is ample parking- parking lot and street parking available. We were seated at a booth within 2 minutes. Erick was our server- he seemed genuinely happy and in good spirits. The tables were clean, lined with a plastic liner and the booths were comfortable and clean! Pink lemonade was tasty- they serve the drinks in paper cups- sanitary reasons- I like it (: the menu was easy to navigate. The food came out promptly and was so fresh! I cannot wait to come back. I feel the price for our food and service was fair. I'm looking forward to taking my dad here! Next time I will pay extra for the heads and tails to be removed from my shrimp. Spice level/ we said no spice and it was delicious. For flavor we chose garlic butter. Thinking we will try the mild Cajun spice level next time. Come here! Super fun for date night! I was kinda iffy about this place at first just because of its appearance from the outside, but they did not disappoint at all! There is ample seating, the sauce was extremely flavorful, the staff was very attentive and friendly, and the food was reasonably priced when compared to other seafood boil places. Sauces were delicious and wait staff/owners were great. My concern is all the plastic going into our landfill. Food is cooked in a plastic bag. Glasses, except wine and beer, are plastic, plastic bibs and plastic gloves. You dip your hand into the bag which is filled with way too much sauce (a messy accident waiting to happen) and eat from there. There cake pans available for shells. Been craving some Cajun seafood and decided to try this place out. They have all the seafood you could think of crabs, lobster, shrimp, crawfish, and even mussels. They also throw in corn and sausages too! The best part in my opinion is the Cajun sauce/seasoning. Places like boiling crab and kickin crab the sauce can be a little too salty or bland, not this place. I mixed in a little bit of rice after mowing down the seafood and damn all I gotta say is, it the SPOT. Definitely going to be back!! Star crab is the best crab boil in Ventura county! The owners are super friendly and attentive. We have ordered the Cajun fries and lemon pepper fries, both really good! We have also ordered the onion rings which are decent. The clam chowder is pretty good! But the boils themselves are so FLAVORFUL!! Im drooling over my keyboard right now. You wouldn't understand unless you've been here. I don't think I am going to wash my hands for 5 days so I can continue to smell the cajun spices. Take a risk, try to park in the weird lot, but it will be worth it. The server peeled crawfish for us as an expert and taught us the true technique of a cajun boat snorkler. The smiles from my friends face every dip he took of garlic bread in the shrimp bag looked like he reached nirvana. They gave us a bib and gloves, and I used the gloves to change my oil. My family and I came walked in on their first day of business after seeing a new banner on the window. We love Cajun seafood so we were excited to give this place a try. We started off with some fries and chicken wings for appetizers. Serving size was way larger than what we had anticipated!
