Great experience and quality food! We explored this area for authentic Mongolian food, and was pleasantly surprised to find tsuivan (hand-cut fried noodles) and beef tongue on the menu. Those dishes were impressive! Tsuivan was fresh from the pan and rolling in steam. One plate simply isn't enough. Beef tongue, as off-putting the name maybe, is much more tender than any cut of beef I've had. Highly recommend trying it from Star. We also had a wild Charizard at our table. A great spot for Asian fare located right on Broadway -- it was easy to get a table on a weeknight for 6 people. The service was quick and the servers were super friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. I'm always a bit skeptical of fusion food spots but this place is SO. BOMB. I got an app and two dishes to share -- the portion sizes are hefty and super worth the price. I would totally recommend ordering family style. I was hesitant to try this new place out because I hadn't checked the reviews yet but a friend told me I should check it out! When you walk in, it's a very pleasant ambience experience with lots of strength lights everywhere, which made it an enjoyable dining experience. It wasn't very busy on a Thursday night or a normal dinner hours when we arrived. The staff was friendly, and seated us promptly. We tried the agedashi tofu, which was really delicious and plated very nicely. The perfect crispy to soft interior yum! We also ordered some drinks with my friend, ordering a very relaxing and soothing, lychee sake, which was perfect for a cold and rainy day. I ordered a Shirley Temple which I felt like was in a nice slender glass with a sleek look with a cherry, for presentation but I do wish that the container has been a little bit bigger for the price I paid. The only small issue was service where there were times that general items that we needed were forgotten. Like two glasses of water at a time to the table and then the third a good couple minutes later. Also, the servers brought two plates and two chopsticks at a time when we had a party of three, which awkwardly met one person had to wait to eat, which presented an awkward social situation. also, I had to personally ask for soy sauce and usually this is something that's offered by the server are already at the table of restaurants I've been to. We ordered three rolls, the Alaskan roll, the Toro lover roll, and a crunchy California roll. All of the rolls were incredibly delicious. The toro roll was definitely a melt in your mouth moment with a little bit of kick of wasabi on the top and felt like a fatty paradise in your mouth. The Alaskan roll is perfect for a salmon lover, with raw salmon in the middle with avocado and cucumber, which complemented perfectly. even the California roll, which I tend to not order since it's less traditional was also delicious, and the crunchy exterior what you can choose from among other exteriors, was a great contrast to the softer inside of the crab. This place truly left me scratching my head at how it possibly has this solid 5 star rating. I came with my friends visiting from out of town and left apologizing to them for suggesting this place and wishing I had brought them somewhere I'd been to and could vouch for. As Asian cuisine regulars, many of the dishes were familiar and seemed like they would be great choices--we ended up getting pan-fried noodles, the chicken katsudon, chicken karaage, a charizard roll which looked super cool because it was on fire, a Seattle roll, and a sumo roll. My friend said that her Seattle roll tasted off and fishy and didn't finish it. My other friend said that the katsudon was pretty good. The pan fried noodles my partner got were mediocre, just okay, not much flavor and definitely not worth the high praise every other reviewer seems to give it. The karaage was just okay. The charizard roll was not good. I disliked it so much that I decided to order the sumo roll to replace it and let my partner finish off the charizard for me. The sumo roll sounded like it would be delicious--soft shell crab tempura, salmon, cilantro, tomatoes, chili oil--but it unfortunately turned out to also be very underwhelming. The other con was that food came out in a completely untimed and haphazard manner. My friends were left waiting almost twenty minutes after my partner and I got our food to get theirs. Delicious sushi! It was my first time getting a veggie roll (evergreen) and it was so good - the fried asparagus was so yummy. We also got the dragon, salmon lover, and broadway. All were so good! I like the broadway maybe the most because I was craving baked salmon at the time. We made a reservation ahead of time for a Thursday evening and all the outdoor tables were occupied soon after 7pm. 2) Ambience (+): I love the cozy and brightly lit atmosphere that the restaurant was even able to replicate outdoors! The restaurant had good COVID safety protocols with the server wearing masks and gloves the whole time. 3) Food (+): The coveted five-star Yelp rating is so rare to see but Star Fusion is fully deserving of each star. We shared a selection of amazing appetizers including the chicken karaage, kimchi cauliflower, and calimari fries - all of which are must orders. We were visiting Seattle for the weekend, and love sushi so thought we'd check out the local scene. This was a quick 5 minute drive from our hotel and what an awesome experience. First off, the interior is super cute and like dainty and romantic. The server was really nice and I asked for Spicy Tuna Crispy rice which they didn't have but they did their best to accommodate our request which I appreciated. The O-Toro was excellent, melted like butter. We also enjoyed the other two rolls we got and also the veggie dumplings. We were there until closing and they urged us not to rush and that it was okay for us to stay afterwards a little to finish. Price range and quality I would say is comparable to Japonessa or Momiji, so my review is for people looking for a similar type of restaurant rather than a $$$ sushi kashiba type of sushi spot. Happy hour is until 6pm and features oysters and some other good selections. Out of the rolls we tried, I liked the spicy rainbow crunchy roll and the kamikaze roll the most. I wasn't a huge fan of the toro lover, but I don't generally like cooked sushi. The oysters are a solid deal at happy hour. The service is great here and they have very pleasant staff. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the service, food, and people watching. As a family with small children the restaurant was ready with coloring sheets, crayons, and chopstick assists. I thought wow this place exists in Capitol Hill which shows my biased impressions of the party neighborhood. We ordered a few dishes and our highlights were the Lion King baked salmon roll, the charsu pork belly ramen noodle soup, and the charcoal grilled edamame which i don't usually expect much from. Ernie was really approachable and shared his story with us about grand opening this restaurant during the 2020 start of the pandemic. Entrepreneurs are risk takers and I'm glad he stuck it out. Someone mentioned there being a new spot on Broadway so of course I wanted to check it out. When we walked up it looked closed but it was just very quiet on a Sunday for lunch. The menu looks interesting and there were a lot of different types of asian food which makes sense since it's fusion. Our group got 4-5 dishes and shared so I was able try a few things. I really enjoyed their strew and their pan fried noodles. The prices were a bit expensive for why you got but maybe it's a nicer restaurant. The service was really attentive, almost too attentive but we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Parking in the area can be tough but you can always find some. We ordered family style Charizard Roll, Mercer Roll, and a Salmon plate and everything was so good! Charizard Roll comes out in a foil and they light it on fire (similar to places that serve hot pot style food) and the fire goes out on its own. They then come back to open the foil and the roll is inside. This roll was amazing and I would come back just to order this dish alone! Charizard roll has spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, avocado, salmon, tuna, and Hamachi. It wasn't spicy, its more a mild spice. Mercer roll and salmon plate were also very good. We came here for the fourth or fifth time last night. I'm consistently impressed with how friendly the staff is and how well they take covid safety measures. We came for the first time right when things started opening back up early summer 2020. They had just opened (in a pandemic - moving from California) and we were a little nervous to dine inside. The staff was extremely professional, all wore gloves, distanced themselves, limited contact as much as possible. I'm so happy to see them getting a lot of business these days after a hard year!
