For a Starbucks, it doesn't make the cut. Now if this were an Asian tea house, I would expect poor service, but not for Starbucks. The outside area is nice, but the inside is really dirty. The sofa chairs are stained, the table tops were sticky, and the floor didn't look mopped. I feared what the restroom would look like. eww. Everyone else is right, the staff sucks. There were about 3 high school girls behind the counter fooling around w/ stuff while I was waiting to place my order. I asked if a certain tea was decaf, and she had to ask the other girl (LOOK at the tea bag!!! it says right on front!) They did, however get my other drinks right, but my other friends weren't so lucky. I'll get my caffeine fix elsewhere. read more

Hello peeps. So let's see, there's really not much to say about Starbucks. But I do have to mention that this location definitely have some cute decor. I'm not sure about the other ones since I always go through the drive-through but I do like that they have an out door sitting patio. I order the tall black ice coffee with light ice, but unfortunately they didn't put light ice. The ice was so pretty much the whole cup with a hint of coffee. That is why I gave it a 3 stars. I hope that they can really listen to their customers on their order, because I don't think my order was that complicated. Maybe next time I should try another location. read more

This location is convenient due to a large parking space and plenty of eateries around. It usually packed but I can get a spot most of the time. You've got a lot of old chinese folks here who play Chinese chess board and they are so LOUD! I understand mandarin and this is not a place u will bring your kids. The exchange of words are so barbaric. If you have nowhere else to go, don't sit on the big table. If one of them lays down the board YOU'RE SCREWED! They've claimed the table, you better be sure you didn't just start your work/study. Their pounding and voice will penetrate any ear plugs. There are so much profanity, albeit in Mandarin/Canto, its really hard to do work or have conversation when you hear "DIE u son*b*tch / I will eat you! / yo m*m" in the background. Apparently at this location, you're allowed to bring your own coffee/beverage by being a nuisance. The baristas here are pretty good. I honestly can't think of any way to fix this issue. When I sit inside its loud, when I move outside I smell smoke. Please figure out a way to just move the board games outside. read more

It was a hot day and Starbucks was definitely a respite from the scorching heat. It was approximately 3:00pm today and all the indoor and exterior seats were pretty much taken. I had to ask this table if I can sit there communal style. At least the people were nice about it but this Starbucks is tiny. I love how the WiFi is free :) I am not sure about the fly squasher tied to the restroom keys (mens and womens keys are separate). I know that other Starbucks where they have locks with a code on them which is so much more hygienic than touching a fly squasher. I think that I'd rather go to another Starbucks that is bigger so there isn't so much competition with the seating. read more

A-Ok. This is one of my more favored study spots in Alhambra since I want to avoid the crowd on Main Street, the one on Mission just appears to have fewer seats, and the one on Atlantic doesn't have that many stores to shop at once you leave. There's a good amount of seats here (outdoor and indoor), but I don't really like the clientele here. Some people just come by without purchasing anything.... and for some reason, I absolutely hate using public restrooms that require keys. I ordered a customized espresso today on the mobile app and usually they do it correctly so I never have to say anything but today I walked in and noticed that my drink didn't have any whipped cream like I had ordered. The sticker even says to "Add Whip". I went up to ask Nat for some whip cream and all I was greeted with was an attitude, an eye roll, and a small dab of whip cream. First of all, you made my drink wrong and now you're giving me an attitude??? Bad customer service!!! Luckily, Monica was cheery and gave me more when I asked. Nearly everytime I come in here, someone gives me an attitude. The baristas here are hit or miss. The staff (guys) here are professional and nice. Most recent visits was only to pick up a bunch of gift cards in diff denominations. Processed smoothly and efficiently. Then came back today to pick up another gc and same great service. People need to stop giving a store/business low star ratings because of "limited parking" or things that have nothing to do with the customer service or how the actual business is run. Why on earth would I give a corporate chain store 5 stars? True, my default for any corporate chain is 3 stars, but when you have staff who is friendly, who welcomes you, and who will remember you, that's what customer service and business is all about. When the choice to go somewhere is between two similar places, the tie-breaker for me, is if I have had previous positive experiences with customer service. As Brenda H. has pointed out, it doesn't take the baristas there to figure out who you are, and what you like after a few visits. During 2010, I was going there a lot as it was close to home, school, and convenient to work. That's when I first met Aaron there who was always friendly, personable, and hard-working. It didn't take very long at all for Aaron to remember my drink (Venti Iced Green Tea Unsweetened), face, and name (Aaron). Of course, taking a few minutes out to chat for a couple of minutes, when it wasn't too busy helps as well. Aaron does that very well, and understands that it helps to build customer relations so that we are more apt to come back again. After that was established, it seemed like we were old friends every time I went back to pick up a Venti Iced Green Tea Unsweetened. After I moved away from that particular area, to another part of the SGV, I didn't visit this particular location as much as I used to. However, every time, no matter how many months went by, Aaron would remember. Case in point: today I visited because I was in the area, and Aaron was working. I literally haven't seen him in about a year. I recognized him, but he sees thousands of customers day in and day out, so I didn't want to press it. "I can help you over here, sir!" He called out. You could tell that he was saying in his head, "Something is very familiar." I gave him my order, "Venti Iced Green Tea Unsweetened." He pauses...and then goes, "AARON!!!" It was a little busy, so we only had time to exchange a few pleasantries, but it sure was good to see an old friend. Aaron has an awesome memory. This location is one of my 2 best locations especially because its literally less than a mile from my house! Just like my other favorite location I reviewed about, this was my primary second home while I was in college! As just like the other location is also in a plaza where you can find food to eat and s supermarket! Very convenient. Service and drink: This place NEVER fails to make my drink right. Maybe because some of them know and remember me as a regular already and when they ask you, same thing today? you know you have been going a little bit too much, haha. Very consistent and so far MOST of them as been very nice, sweet and accommodating which is always good when not only the good cup of coffee to keep me going but good customer service to start off a good day! I do have to admit a few seem to be a little snobby like but just don't mess up my drink or I'll let you have it! Then again, I try to understand how this location is extremely busy throughout the day with the kind of customers that come to this location.....if I were them, I may be a little pissy too. Ok, kind of forgiven. They just have to learn that not every customer is like that and need to start fresh with working with the next customer. Parking: Not too bad, depending on the time you go. Main complaint I have: The Chinese customers that comes to this location on a regular basis and who probably go to the cafe that's in the same plaza....are major heavy smokers!! One main reason I do hate coming here is because you will always pass by the outdoor area with second hand smoke all the time. Never fails! Negative star! Got here at about 0915 today and told the lady behind register I wanted a large caramel frap w/whip cream & extra caramel. Waited for my 1 order for a long ass time. When we got there, there was only 1 person ahead of us, and then my friend's order, and then mine. I should've gotten my drink after my friend got hers, but noooo! This is my regular Starbucks I try not to hate it since it's the closest one to my house, but I have to say they need to improve their service, the counter for pick up is always sticky and have all kind of liquids on it, #1 reason why is the people who prepared drinks not measuring their ice or liquid right. This is the second closest Starbucks that's near me. This Starbucks is located on Valley and Granada in a plaza with a Big Lot, Dollar Tree, Rite-Aid, Big 5 and a few more stores. It's right by GameStop. I don't think you can miss all the Asian dad's sitting outside... Customer service is great. My drinks came out the way I wanted. If you plan to come here during the weekend, I would suggest you all to come here before noon because it sure gets pack before then. AND if you are planning to stay there with a laptop, it is best for you to be there super early just so you know there will be a plug for you to use. Many people will be sitting outside just leeching internet. Try staring at them with your books and bags, maybe it'll make them feel awkward and they leave. heehee Parking here is free and a beeee..ch sometimes. Friendly young vibe. Lines get outrageous when there's deal ESP in summer. Way too many teeny boppers here but the baristas are super friendly. Definitely a go to place despite lines. It gets busy after 12 pm...and stays pretty much busy throughout day. Plenty parking spot here. read more

Another day, another Starbucks. The baristas here are friendly and they get your drinks out to you asap. No problems with them or the quality of their drinks but the clientele at this location really makes it one that I try to not go to if I can make it to another location. There are tons of people at this location so I would not recommend this location if you are planning to study unless you like A LOT of white noise that will seep through your noise-cancelling headphones. There seems to be tables around the shop but this location is so popular that it is hard to find seating. There is a bunch of space in the middle of the shop that could've been used to add more seating but that is now just wasted space for when they have long lines. Parking is OK since it is shared with the rest of the businesses in the plaza. To grab and go, I would recommend this location, like any other Starbucks location. But for a place to stay, I would look for another location. read more

Closest Starbucks to mi casa, because of that, you get an extra star. But really, overall, just 3, not the best I gone to. Def can be better. I usually like coming to this Starbucks because it has a drive-thru, but yesterday morning I got pretty upset because of how long the line was for the drive-thru. I waited way too long so I had to park my car and go inside. I figured it would be faster. Drive-thrus are suppose to be fast and quick, but it was even slower than the traffic by foot in store. I think that the management should take this into consideration and maybe work on the drive-thru service a little more - possibly speed up the process. They have so many workers at Starbucks anyway, so why can't they put more workers towards that area instead of in store. Other than that, I really enjoy Starbucks because how freshly made and smell of their coffee. Since there isn't too many legit coffee shops around my Asian neighborhood, this is probably my best bet if I wanted coffee that morning. I ordered the Winter drink, Eggnog Latte with Chai. They said that that one had coffee in it. The Chat Latte with Eggnog did not. I was a bit confused but yes I did wanted coffee in my drink that morning! It didn't taste that great, making me realize how I didn't really like eggnog in general. I think I might just stick to the original and boring. I usually get the Caramel Macchiato upside down. It's delicious iced or hot - you should definitely give it a try. So I have been so obsessed with the secret menu lately that I wanted to go down the whole list and try everything every Tuesday! But most of the list consumed of sweet sweet drinks - something I'm not too fond of, but since I really like Harry Potter I think I'm going to try the butter beer next. Today on 11/13/2019 around 1:30 pm I ordered a tall sized ice latte at the Alhambra store on 810 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801. Upon paying I was asked by the female barista to provide my name to be put on the cup. I said to her in a very clear and explicit way that my name is 'Johnny'. Few minutes later I was ready to get my drink but heard another Barista called out the name 'Chung' or 'Chong'. I was surprised to see my name was written ' Chung' on the print label. My name is not 'Chung'! It is a derogatory slur that often used by people who stereotype Asian people with fake 'Chinese' name. This is not acceptable! I asked why this girl Briasta named Marrisan put 'Chung' instead of Johnny, she refuse to apologize but kept saying that was what she heard. I've been a regular customer with Starbucks for more than 10 years and never even once had somebody spelt my name as 'Chung'!!! I need a formal apology from her or her manager! read more

This Starbucks located in Alhambra on Valley Blvd. is like Starbucks in Hong Kong. There are large groups of old Chinese men hanging out there all times of the day. It's located on a pad of a large shopping center so there is plenty of parking. The coffee is ok and the service is good. read more
