There's something weird about this location. The drinks never taste right. Regular iced coffee is ok but a latte, macchiato or blended drink is always funky. And they often run out of food. We came here early one morning and made a decent Sized, but easy, order. After we paid we were told many of the items weren't available and we could order something different but not get a refund! I come here often and this is a good Starbucks for the most part. There is plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. The lines are fairly quick and the staff members are courteous. Parking can be a real pain on the weekends because the Starbucks shares the parking lot with a number of other stores, including CVS pharmacy. I LOVE the staff at this Starbucks. They are always friendly, helpful and most of all...they always get my order just right. I am in there a few times a week in the mornings and I love how the staff seems to know almost everyone by first name and welcomes them the second they walk in the door. Plus, they know their order before they even get up to the register. Those small detail makes a huge difference. I just visited this Starbucks (Christmas Day), and I have to say, all of the baristas were fantastic! I know what a bummer it is to work on this holiday, but every barista was beyond cheerful and helpful. Jesus took my order and he's the friendliest barista I've encountered at any Starbucks location. Ok, I frequent this Starbucks because it's close to my work. They always had a decent customer service and most of the times they make my cappuccino correctly. Today unfortunately I only had a $100 bill and cashier (Lindsey) told me I will get my change in 5s and 1s, it's a bit odd but I agreed, then she gave me $50 in 5s and $45 in 1s, I asked nicely if she could give me more 5s and she snapped at me in rude way and said let us figure it out!!!this is an extremely busy store and I am sure they have plenty of 10 or 20 dollar bills but even if she couldn't do anything but give me $45 in 1s she should never snap or be rude to a customer! Let me start this review by saying, I am a coffee addict. Yessiree Bob, I drink a ton of coffee! I am also a ginormous Starbucks addict. I use my Gold card more than my credit card. I've been to this place a fair amount of times, but I really think it has gone downhill. The last few times I have gone, the coffee has tasted funny and the staff wasn't as friendly. The one barista (I think her name is Evelyn) is really a sweety though! I remember her from the Starbucks by Ralph's further east on Ventura. My last visit is what prompted me to write this review. I got a few Starbucks cards as holiday gifts, but it turned out that the recipients don't like coffee. I came to cash them in (CA Starbucks are required to provided cash refunds for cards with $10 or less). They said they couldn't do it because the system was down. Fine, no problem. It happens, so I left. What happened next was pretty out of the ordinary. The manager followed me out and starting hassling me about where I got the cards. Seriously? Is that even necessary? Take a chill pill and keep your place as good as the other Starbucks places I go to. Sorry, but you guys need to get it together. Except for Evelyn. She's nice. :) read more

I must say out of all the starbucks i have been to this is the best one. If on a rare occasion they make a mistake.. it's fixed immediately with no question. But 99% of the time my order is perfect, done perfect and i couldn't be more satisfied considering the volume of customers that are in this store every day (always a large line). Having worked at a Starbucks for a little over a year, I know how difficult working the coffee bar can be , memorizing the drinks, sometimes having to custom make each one. It wasn't extremely busy when we were at this particular store, however, I watched two customers ahead of me receive the wrong drinks; one was entirely the wrong drink and one was made incorrectly. When she called out our names, it was obvious that one was incorrect just looking at it, as she forgot the shot on my son's vanilla bean frap. Again, I understand how difficult that job can be but it's really just about paying attention and reading the instructions on the cup. read more

I'm a bit of a creature of habit, especially when it comes to stores and restaurants I frequent on the regular. Because I work in the area, I'm at this Starbucks...a disgusting amount of time, and I don't even live on this side of the Valley. I willing get on the 101 on a Saturday morning to visit this Starbucks, even though I'm in there for 5 minutes at the most. My drink is good 80% of the time and the parking lot is hell on earth (and I don't even believe in the concept of heaven and hell), but I have always been treated like my patronage is genuinely appreciated. My birthday was last Thursday and I came in after a hard week to redeem my birthday drink. I was told by the lady helping me that it was no longer valid. I was shocked because my birthday was literally 5 days ago. She replied that it is only good for 2 days. I proceeded to order and when she handed me the drink, she said, "no worries; it's on me". She really made my entire day a bright love. I have been a frequent starbucks customer for over 15 years and to be treated the way I was was a beautiful feeling. Starbucks needs more friendly and appreciative staff such as this incredible lady and less rules and regulations with gifts they give to customers. 2 days to use a birthday card? Really? Every other place I know gives you at least 2 wks to a month. But this lady recognized that 1 coffee can really change a person's day and in the long run, increase revenue because I will now be coming back to this specific starbucks more often. My family and I always are hanging out at this Starbucks and loved the people there But one day in this past Jan (2017), they proved to us that they don't only know how to make great drinks but they are in fact a bunch of amazing, caring and humane people work there. This was a very stormy day here in Encino, rain was pouring. My husband and I with our two girls (teen and preteen) managed to get ourselves to the coffee shop in tht rain. All tables were taken. The biggest table in the coffee shop had one lady sitting on it who had occupied only one chair, (the other three chairs there empty). I gently walked forward to the lady and asked if we could share the table with her. I told her we will be there only for 15 min max. The lady looked at me and said "No" with such an attitude, like how do u dare!! I was surprised so I asked: why not? There are three empty chairs and our kids need to sit to finish their lunch plus we will be very quick to leave. Again she gave me a look and said: don't u see me busy here, why r u keep talking to me?! Then she told me to F..off!!!! Oh my.. I could not believe my ears!! Everyone was looking at us!! My husband stepped forward and said no reason to use words like that!! Then the angry lady turned and told my husband to get lost!! Suddenly the floor manager came to see what was happening. She asked the angry lady to let us to use half of the big table! The angry lady, told the manager off too!! Which made everyone at the coffee shop shocked!! I told the nice manager plz don't worry, we decided we will be leaving, no need for the kids to see this. But as we were going to leave, suddenly, another table people got up and asked our family to sit down. They insisted we take their table and seats. At the same time the floor manager asked the angry lady, if she does not want to share the table with other costumers then she will need to leave. Angry lady got upset, got up, packed her bag and whispered ssying: she had never been treated like this at any Starbucks before!!! I thought to myself, well angry lady, the same here!! As the angry lady was leaving, everyone in the Starbucks gave a big round or clap to the manager and thanked her for her fairness and kindness. We did too she needs to be rewarded Thank you nice Starbucks manager from the bottom of my heart for standing up for justice; and showing to my kids, we need to be just and fair no matter what. The morning staff at this Starbucks really outshine all others in the area. Connor, Tony and the always upbeat Lillac make your morning breakfast or coffee a little more special. It's a great place to chill early before everyone starts lining up for their morning commute rituals. I get the low calorie Turkey Bacon breakfast sandwich and a tall water. The staff always knows what I want and practically has it ready before I reach the register. Awesome crew. One note also. This Starbucks donates all their day old food to a local food bank, which is great for two reasons. Food is going for a good cause and your menu choices are fresh every day.
