I love me some Coffee Bean! This location can be hit or miss for me. The service is always great, but the drinks can be inconsistent. Sometimes my iced coffee tastes great, and sometimes it seems off. I do love the location of this store! It's got great indoor and outdoor seating. I do with Coffee Bean had more protein bar options, as I come by here often after a workout class. Everything is packed with so much sugar. Sometimes I get a croissant for my son here, but their pastries are definitely just OK and taste like they were once frozen. I simply come here for the coffee AND their giant iced teas. 32 ounces of refreshing goodness! The orchard peach is my favorite. Really coffee bean, you charge $3 to order ahead directly on your website? This wasn't even a 3rd party website which seems super odd. Anyways I ended up ordering in person to avoid the $3 fee. I noticed that the barista made all the online drinks before mine even though I was only customer in the store. Waited almost 12 minutes for my drink , and as I'm watching him make it, he uses dairy milk when I paid extra for plant based. If I didn't notice that mistake, I would have had an allergic reaction . I popped in to buy a bag of their strongest coffee bean available. The bag has 5 out of 6 beans for strongest labeled. It came down to what they said was the more popular blend which is the French Roast versus what I ended up choosing which was the Tanzania Peaberry. Another 5-star experience at another 5-star CBTL location. This time Encino on Ventura at Woodley. Ruth was very friendly, warm, welcoming and thoughtful. I love when I'm offered things before asking. And my Americano was perfect. Cesar was keeping the dining room spotless when I walked in, and he took over effortlessly when Ruth went on her break. This location is beautiful mainly because of their massive all-glass front entrance. The dining room is bright with a clear view of the beautiful courtyard fountain, and the boulevard as background. BUT THE ENTIRE SHOPPING CENTER IS BEAUTIFUL AND ELEGANT. Big open layout and pretty landscaping with trees, hedges and a lush lawn. Indoor and outdoor seating. What I like about this Coffee Bean location is the outdoor area! I try to avoid chains, but I couldn't find a lot of decent indie coffee shops in the area and all I needed was just a Mocha so I figured I should pop inside this place! Coffee was decent, service, somewhere in the middle, not great, not terrible. Not a lot of indoor seating but I didn't care since it was a nice day to enjoy my coffee outside, the area is so cute and charming, this is what attracted me in this shopping in the first place. Much has changed since I posted my first review about seven years ago. The quality of the coffee has significantly changed for the worst. My once loved flat white was unrecognizable and no longer enjoyed. The entire plaza has changed and is no longer the warm and friendly place it was once before. I am paralyzed from the vaccine for a year now living in a home with others like me. I ordered 3 drinks. The drinks give us what little joy we can get with the pain we endure. I try to be kind but honest with my reviews. I ordered 3 drinks. First drink didn't show up. Second drink was the wrong drink. Third drink didn't have whipped cream & wasn't made properly tasted bad. Threw in garbage. My advice if you are getting drinks by delivery have the driver check drinks & let them know what you are getting. If you are getting drinks but not drinking at store double check & try drinks. I hope leadership will talk to staff. If the staff doesn't care about the customer maybe they should find a job they can take pride in. read more

This place is near where I work. I usually pre order because of break time/lunch time. I make sure to pre order 5-10 minutes before my breaks. I almost always get there and it's not ready when it says it will be, I customize my drinks and something is either missing, or made incorrectly, the coupons on the app only seem to work if you redeem it at the store, if you do go in. You'll wait in line to order. Be prepared to stand a bit. Dealing with the parking is a hassle. You have to pay for the structure, I believe they validate. But their parking staff is a whole different story. Code is needed to use bathroom. 113113. You'll need that because they're too busy (understandable). Regulars will get treated better for sure. If you're a regular you might get perks not included in the app. It's a hit and miss. I try not to come here because it's not worth it to be honest. read more

I'm very upset while writing this message. I just ordered 2 drinks. Both the same cafe latte caramel (hot). But one with almond milk and one with oat milk. The almond milk has a sore taste to it. The milk is obviously spoiled and you can't miss the smell especially when you open the lid. The girl making my drink today, Monday, Oct, 17th about 6:30ish evening time put in expired almond milk. This is unacceptable and not to mention unsafe and a major healthy concern violation. I tried calling them at 7:05pm but they were already closed. Besides the fact that my mom cannot enjoy her drink that she was looking forward for. But her entire mouth has a nasty taste and she feels disgusted. I've been conducting some business in Encino for the past few days and I was in desperate need of some coffee following my 2 hour commute from the LBC this morning. This Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf location was somewhat convenient from my location so I opted for a walk after parking my car. There was quite a line when I arrived but the wait was actually pretty short considering the line. My latte was nice and strong and the butter croissant was perfect. The interior is a nice size with plenty of seating and waiting space. There is a large outdoor area with plenty of umbrella topped tables to shield you from the hot San Fernando Valley sun. read more

This is my favorite CBTL. They have all the same stuff as every other CB, so what I really appreciate is that the customer service is great. This is a great location with awesome customer service. I always stop here when I'm in Encino. I love that you can sit and enjoy the sun outside. Plenty of seating is available and there is a nice fountain nearby as well. Each time I've been here, the service has been friendly and prompt. First, I'd like to say that this a great establishment and the staff are great. Their food and drinks are good, and I especially love their tea. On July 31st, my lyft driver picked up the wrong driver, leaving me and my sister stranded for almost 3 hours while argued with lyft. The staff was very attentive and even tried helping me communicate with lyft. Since I have asthma and am currently recovering from a stroke, I can't wear a mask for a long period of time, so I had to sit outdoors. The staff sent out my favorite iced tea, complimentary, which was a breath of fresh air for I was near tears and it was around 103 degrees outside. And here's the rub. I used to frequent the coffee bean, but stopped around January when the manager started using their chalkboard for political statements instead of their specials. When you're in a coffeehouse, you want to relax and being reminded of the political unrest you wished to escape from for 5 minutes, defeats that purpose. When the manager wrote, "Wear a mask and save Black lives," that was the final straw for me. I'm Black and both of my parents are Caucasian, they both nearly died from covid. My whole family, which consists of myself, 2 Black brothers and a Caucasian brother and sister, all caught covid! My father did die 60 days after his covid diagnosis, but it was from pancreatic cancer and due to the hospital restrictions in place, he was unable to get any help. He died at our home, 4 weeks after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. So, just to see that sign is upsetting and a huge slap to the face. Why not just say, "Wear a mask and save a life," since people of various races are dying daily? Due to covid restrictions, who knows how many other people are dying because like my father, because they weren't helped in time? People all over the world are dying and that was an insensitive to write. I really want to support this coffee shop, but right now, this manager makes it impossible to do so. The day I walk in and the chalkboard only has the specials on it, will be the day I'll spend my money there. Until then, I hope they continue to do well, but I can't support them. read more
