Used this location as a lunch break on a road trip. Sbux really upped their food menu. I tried the new spicy falafel pocket and my wife had the spinach feta wrap. Both were very tasty and a great value. And if you haven't tried the cortado - do it. It is well done and believe me I had many different cortados in Miami and Portland, OR - regular and cuban coffee shops. I'm writing this review on this Starbucks because it's still one of the last standing Starbucks that truly still has that neighborhood cafe vibe that old Starbucks used to have. This one is right on S. Tacoma Way off of Exit 127 and it's the JBLM location. The store is dedicated to military members who fought for our country, and there is also another location dedicated to military members in Dupont. I appreciate that the baristas and cashiers are so friendly here, and the customers are also very courteous. I often see senior groups and Korean groups having small meeting and they manage to keep the noise level pretty low. This Starbucks is also one of the rarer Starbucks that serves your "for-here" drinks in the original Starbucks siren Tous Droits Reserves mug, which is unique! Parking is slightly tricky because some parking space backs into their drive-thru but otherwise a solid neighborhood Starbucks. read more

Most of the staff are quick and efficient. I literally go 4 days of the week, hubby pre-ordered for me to ensure I ate something most days and then I just kept tradition. On a few occasions I've run into the pay $7 for your beverage and get 2/3 of your drink. It ticks me off. Spoke to Cory, the manager today and she said she'd verbally tell tomorrow's manager to fix it. Then have me repeat it tomorrow to staff. Defeats the pay before order pickup wasting another 10 minutes of my day I'll never get back. She got lil upset when I asked to whom I was speaking to, as if a customer is supposed to trust someone who just ripped me off. Smh. Her tone was, like, " what you don't trust me?" Pic below. Mocha was literally not piping hot, not full, I don't expect it to be topped off but I do expect for $7 that it not be only 2/3. If I wanted a grande I would've ordered as such. Visited this Starbucks the other day and had a horrible experience. An extremely rude barista. When I walked in, a barista by the name of Naiya immediately rolled her eyes at me before I had even said a word. While taking my order she didn't make eye contact with me. While I stood and waited for my drink, I overheard Naiya talking bad about the other workers. It was very unprofessional and genuinely made me feel uncomfortable in this store. I thought I was the only customer to experience this, but then I watched her interaction with the person behind me in line, and it was the same treatment! She came across rude, short, cold, and unprofessional. I've been a fan of Starbucks for a long time, but this barista in particular ruined this store for me and I will definitely no longer be returning to this store just to feel unwelcome. read more

The staff here are really nice and service is always fast. 3 stars because of the bathroom(s)!! I came here yesterday and after downing a trenta black tea lemonade I REALLY had to go! The women's restroom was "closed for cleaning". The lady cleaning came out and said I couldn't use it because she still had to mop. Well I couldn't wait so I had my male companion sweep the men's restroom and guard the door while I went potty. OK so awkward... Right next to the sink is a urinal. There's a metal "privacy wall" to separate the sink from the urinal but it's not very long and it's extremely close to the sink. There's also a handicapped accessible stall. Most Starbucks restrooms are pretty much unisex, wheelchair accessible, and for one occupant at a time. I'm not a dude, but this setup seems totally awkward for anyone who may use the urinal and/or be washing their hands. The new larger patio is a nice though. :) read more

This cafe has some of the rudest baristas I have ever come across. This evening a long haul truck driver asked us if we would drive through for him and get him a coffee, and he was willing to ask us, as complete strangers, his cell phone. The store had 4 minutes to closing. So we hustled to the drive through to be ignored. I understand that it was closing time but they still had 3 minutes. We are sadly at this store often as our normal store is undergoing a remodel and the other local store we could utilize is also under going a remodel. I am constantly harassed and bothered. I order something and am told it's not enough to use the cafe or facilities. This is completely untrue as the newest policy says any purchase... there is an older lady that has an apron that reads "partner of the quarter" and she is downright nasty to customers! I cannot wait until my normal store is back to normal because I will NEVER step foot in this store again! read more

Definitely not one of the better locations. This place is slightly less of a drive than the one located in the Lakewood Town Center from my workplace which makes it a little more convenient for coffee runs, however, the last SEVERAL times, there have been issues with the drinks, the food and the service. They are currently undergoing some staffing/ training changes but I don't know if it will make a difference. My last 3 experiences were: 1. Ordered 4 drinks of which were repeated back to me. Only received 3. Had to wait for the 4th to come out. 2. Ordered a green tea frap and a protein bistro box...... the grapes in the bistro box were molding! The good thing is that I called a manager and they were able to refund my card immediately, but the bad/sad part is that it shouldn't have happened AND I WAS SUPER HUNGRY. Lol. 3. Today, I ordered 2 of the exact same drink (one as a tall and one as a grande) with a chocolate chip cookie and a bagel with cream cheese. Once I got to the window, the lady apologized and said they were doing some training and I said that was okay. But then it looked as if they forgot my drink completely. They only charged me for one order and she said thanks... where's my food? She ran and got my bagel. Where's my cookie? She ran and got that too. SMH, Starbucks... get it together! I frequent this Starbucks about twice a week. During Covid it's been a little weird because I generally have to stand outside or back in the car with a client but now that the seating has been open it's been very nice to come back again. This morning there were three gentlemen waiting on the side of the lobby and two people at the tables with computers. I was standing in the lobby on the side for 2 1/2 minutes waiting for my client to arrive to order coffee. I was told to leave because there's no waiting in the lobby... I pointed at the other customers and asked why not them as well and the lady told me to leave again. I'm including a picture just so you actually understand that I'm telling the truth. A Starbucks is a Starbucks. Good coffee, great selection of baked goods and meal items. This Starbucks is closest to my house, so I come in at least once a day. The real reason I am writing this review is to praise one of their superstar employees. Now don't get me wrong, every Starbucks employee I've had an interaction with is gracious, friendly, and extremely welcoming. However, Evonne goes above and beyond. I always mobile order my coffee and breakfast because I'm constantly in a rush to work and can't wait in a long, unpredictable drive thru line. I have never told Evonne my name, but I'm there often enough that she remembers me. As soon as she spots me waiting, she has my order up on the counter ready for me to grab and go, and she always makes my coffee absolutely perfect. I'm in and out of the building in less than a minute. It's a little thing, but it makes a huge difference during my hectic morning. Worst Starbucks ever. Only drive thru is open so line is ridiculously long. During snow a few months ago I came here where there was again, a long drive thru line. Ordering board was all lit up people were trying to order and then giving up. When you got to the window there was a sign saying they were closed due to the weather... Out of all this Starbucks in the Lakewood area, this one is my favorite, and that is saying a great deal since I actually live directly across the street from another store! I love the atmosphere of Starbucks which always provides a great place to get some work done with an exceptional cup of coffee, strong wi-fi, and the restrooms are always clean. This store has a lot of space so I have never had to worry too much about finding a place to work. They also have an abundance of plugs which is not the case in all stores. Finally, this store is unique in the country for their Goodwill initiative which supports finding jobs in the community. This store also provides support to Joint-Base Lewis-McChord and does a lot to assist Veterans in the community. Many of the people who work here are Veterans or are still serving in the Reserves or are Military spouses. While so many people just talk about serving Veterans this store is REALLY doing it, and doing it VERY well. Keep up the good work. Great coffee, great people and great environment. read more

SO funny. I stepped inside and was immediately greeted by an overly cheery barista guy. He smiles and says, "Hi, how are you!" I smiled back and said, "I'm good, how are you?" He smiles again and says "I am great thanks" (okay I don't remember the exact lines but it consisted of those words). I stood idle in front of the menu, wondering what should I get this time, i usually get the same things. I meet eyes with the guy again and he smiles and says, "Hi, how are you!" in the exact tone as the first time. (repeat steps 2-4) I finally, scoot up towards the register (about 1-2 feet) and I am ready to order. He waits patiently, smiles, and says "Hi, how are you!" [again for the third time]. (repeat steps 2-4 again) I order and he says, "thanks! hope you enjoy your day" I said, "thanks! you too!". What a nice fella. That honestly made my day worthwhile. This Starbucks is right on a main road and just off the freeway. Very easy to find and get to. They have plenty of parking which is not always the case with some of these Starbucks. The drive thru is a bit tight. But that seems to be a theme for them. The building itself is really large and when you walk in you have plenty of space to park yourself after you get your coffee. I have been here a few times and if it's the driver thru or walk-in I have had good and friendly service. The staff seem to spark up a conversation while you wait and the drinks come on on time. Over all a good place to chill and grab a coffee or just go through the drive thru if your press for time. read more

Sweet staff. When I walked in everyone was very nice. They were quick and efficient. I recommend the iced teas if you aren't feeling coffee or a refresher for those who don't like caffeine. If you do like coffee they have all the basics. I highly recommend the cold brew with salted cream cold foam. I live by this drink. If you're feeling adventurous I recommend an iced coffee with soy and peppermint. I know it sounds odd but it's oddly refreshing when you add mint to your coffee. read more

It had been so long since I had gone to a Starbucks, that when I pulled up to order a coffee, I totally blanked on what I wanted to order. The gal who took my order was incredibly patient with me, helped make suggestions, and was 100% a true sweetheart! When I got to the window, she was genuinely interested in how I was, noticed that I was packed for a road trip, asked me about my trip, and when she handed me my coffee, she made sure that I tried it, and liked it before I left. I was so impressed, and I realized that her sweet, bubbly attitude, really put me in a good mood for my trip, and that is how every person should treat one another, with so much respect and kindness for strangers. This is not the first really good trip that we've had here either. A while ago, I bought a few huge hot chocolate containers for a soccer game. They were hot, and ready the minute that we got there, they made sure that we had all of the cups, lids, napkins, ext., for every kid; they pumped my kids up for their games, and wished them the best of luck for their game. The morning crew at this location is the worst I have ever seen. Every time I go here in the morning I get the worst service. The evening crew is amazing but the morning crew sucks. The first time I went I ordered a venti iced Carmel macchiato and used my free drink for it, but when they brought my drink it was a tall and I asked why they didn't make me a venti and the lady got frustrated at me saying "what do you want me to do about it" I didn't have time to get it remade because they were slow and took almost 10 mins and I had to make it to work. Today I ordered a grande iced Carmel macchiato with almond milk and they gave me coconut milk and I had to get it replaced at a different location. read more

Not a supporter of Starbuck's much, as I really don't like the coffee but they offer other options that I enjoy such as the teas. As you know since they don't use Hershey for the chocolate the kids cocoa's are bleh as my babygirl calls it:) We visited this location a couple times last week as it was close to the location she goes to during the summer, and the spot itself is in a great area and the baristas are decently friendly. I love how big and spacious this Starbucks is. They have a huge meeting table right in the center of the place too. Lots of room to park and it's centrally located right off the freeway, very accessible. It also has a drive through that moves pretty fast.
