We are always welcomed with a smile and were even told on one visit in particular, "enjoy our time here." Often times, coffee shops make you feel like an uninvited guest. In a world that seems to be rushing around on tight schedules, this coffee shop is a nice and refreshing departure. Bonus stars to Kevin and all the staff who are incredibly hospitable.

You can definitely taste the coffee, but it's something about the thickness of the whipped cream that didn't quite mix well with the coffee even after a good mix, the coffee is on the thicker side, which I didn't love. I believe I'm more of a cloud top person that's more airy, which is easier to get mixed in than a thicker cream. maybe I'll love it if I get it hot so that way the cream melts into the hot coffee, but having it iced isn't for me. I'll come back when it starts to get cold outside.

I actually wish we would have just stayed with the regular matcha cause that was good. Just on those two things (we shared the burrito) was $30. Overall it was okay, don't know if I would come back.

No oat milk. No fluff n puff. Just coffee. After waiting way too long, I finally asked what was going on. That's when they casually mentioned they had to brew a new pot. Good to know... eventually. A simple heads-up or apology would have gone a long way. There were about six employees behind the counter, which made the whole situation even more confusing. It felt less like a rush issue and more like a "no one is driving the bus" issue. As for the food, coffee: not great, tasted watered down. Maybe they used the same grounds twice. . "Ick" is the technical term. Bagel sandwich: actually very good. Everything bagel with egg, cheese, and sausage. Flavorful. Would have been even better if it were warmer than room temperature. At that point, I wasn't even picky. I just wanted to receive the order I paid for sometime before retirement. For comparison, the 602 Coffee House (PCH location) runs much smoother. Either their team is sharper or the system is just better built. Busy, but efficient. Bottom line, good food potential. Consistently slow, inattentive service I want to like this place. The place is decorated so cute, they used old sewing machine bases for tables and converted the machines into lights. We found the gift card while going through her belongings after she passed, and I was trying to use the remaining balance. The owner told me that she needed to see the original email and wasn't sure if she could accept it. I explained that the gift card had been accepted the last time I used it and that they had simply typed in the gift card number. I also explained that I obviously didn't have the original email because it belonged to my aunt. The interaction made me feel as though I was being questioned about whether the gift card was legitimate or as though I was somehow trying to use something that wasn't mine. She then said that the gift card didn't even say Sweet Elle on it, only to look at the bottom and say, essentially, "nevermind, it says it right here." It was the way the situation was handled that really bothered me. I've also personally witnessed the owner being rude to her staff on multiple occasions, so this unfortunately didn't feel like an isolated interaction. I understand that businesses have policies and need to protect themselves, but there is a respectful way to handle situations like this, especially when a customer is simply trying to use a gift card that was legitimately given to them. It's especially disappointing because I have a substantial remaining balance on this gift card and genuinely enjoy their coffee. Unfortunately, after this interaction, I no longer feel comfortable supporting a business where I've felt this level of disrespect as a customer and have witnessed staff being treated poorly. I hope Sweet Elle takes a closer look at how these interactions are handled, because the coffee may be great, but the way customers and employees are treated matters just as much.
