Totally fine coffee, I think the location is better than the experience. Parking is a nightmare as it is with all places in this little steel craft center. If you go during the day when the coffee shop is open, on a weekday, there will be parking behind the center. Otherwise you will probably have to parking the neighborhood and walk. I found it was pretty expensive for the quality available. 3.5 for a drop is expensive and if you're charging that much there should be a reason - maybe flex that the beans are fancy or something. She just pumped the coffee from a little office coffee pumper thing, which imo is not worth $3.5. The coffee was ok, I got it basic just to try the place. It was fine but not memorable. Seating in steel craft is organized and reserved by restaurant so there is a small area designated to the coffee shop. It was noisy since it's by the road and not good for working, but would be fun for a friend meet up or casual date. read more

I've been coming here ever since they set up shop and they have the best coffee in North Long Beach, period. I've had a few different coffees here and they've all been amazing. I love how they're sweet, but not too sweet. Always just enough syrup to give a hint of what you're looking for. I go between the lavender, rose cardamom and my new fave: the Samoa!!! I love this little coffee spot and I want to be selfish and keep it all to myself. So keep going to Starbucks and elsewhere!! (Just kidding! Do yourself a favor and ditch the other spots and try this place out, you won't be disappointed!) Whenever I stop by I'm always greeted with warmth! I really wanted to try a new coffee/tea place with my bf instead of going to our usual spot. I wish I didn't. Parking was no problem. There was no one in line besides a woman chatting with the barista while she was waiting for her order to be made. We saw that there was only one barista so we had no problem being patient. I have worked in the food industry for many years. I always have appreciated a hi or we will be right with you but receiving no acknowledgement and just chatting about Europe and continues to make incorrect drinks for the woman and had to remake her order AND afterwards put your used tools in the sink, having zero urgency to assist us? Wow. No hi, no what can I get for you today? Just looking at us? Rude the entire time taking our order. My bf and I are decent human beings, we would never be rude just because someone else is being rude to us. Not sure if he was having a bad day or what but my bf and I should have just left. My freshman year of college I was introduced to steelhead Coffee- specifically their iced drinks and now as a upcoming junior I'm hooked. Steelhead Coffee is a great place to get your coffee whether it be iced or hot. Their Employees: are super great- now I do go rather often, maybe at least once a week and it's always really nice that the employees that I do see often- remember my order lol. The employees are very nice and often are able to make strange requests of coffee- just like my odd iced vanilla latte with mocha pour over. Location: This location was the one I was introduced too, and in my own opinion- I do think this location is far superior than the other two in Long Beach, but I may be biased lol. This location does offer seating in steelcraft, but for me it's more of a grab and go kinda place! read more

The front of this coffee shop is so cute! It has very retro yet modern vibes. It's part of a small trendy food spot with all outdoor seating. There's quite a few options for food behind the coffee shop like Mexican food or pizza. The staff was really nice & made the drinks quick. I got the lavender latte & it was very creamy & you can definitely taste the lavender. I love how the outdoor section is very informal & good for group gatherings. It does get pretty warm though so it gets quite uncomfortable above 85 degrees so just something to keep in mind. Also, the parking lot is quite small so you may have to find street parking if you go in the evening. Otherwise, definitely check out this place out & any of the food inside! read more

This place is down the street from where I work, so I've been here a few times (usually after work, pairing it with a beer from Smog City next door). That said, when I visit a place specializing in fancy coffees, I either go for the wackiest, most unique fancy coffee drink they have, or just a regular unadulterated espresso - being a pretty small shop, they don't have any really wacky unique drinks, mostly just traditional coffee, so I've only ever gotten an espresso. So I can't comment personally on prices being too high, because $3 for an espresso is pretty much the standard at craft coffee shops these days, and that's exactly how much it is here. I can comment on the quality, though: solid espresso, quick service. Just wish they wouldn't use disposable paper cups for espresso intended to be drunk at a table at Steelcraft! (Both for environmental reasons, and cause it cools down faster.) Though I will also mention, foodie hack that everyone should definitely try if they're here: a new craft ice cream shop just opened up next door... get a kid scoop there, an espresso here, put the two together, you have a glorious affrogato for $6.50. (So I'd want a disposable paper cup for that, anyway.) read more

Located at the Steelcraft complex (a group of eateries housed within shipping containers), this coffee stand is located on the street side. It's more of a grab-n-go place since it's right on the sidewalk but there is outdoor seating inside the Steelcraft complex if you want to relax for a few minutes. The menu is somewhat limited (and pricey). I ordered a vanilla latte. Service was a bit slow, taking about 5 minutes with only one order ahead of me. The latte was so smooooooooth. Nice mellow coffee flavor... which surprised me as I was expecting something stronger. Personally I prefer a more bold flavor. It was ever-so-slightly sweet but I really couldn't make out a vanilla flavor. I enjoyed it though and it was clearly quality coffee and brewing. read more

This Steelcraft location is easy to order online and pickup. I found parking right in front early afternoon. No seasonal drinks available online but I saw some posted at the register. Had a yummy americano and my aunt tried a soy latte. The americano was very bold and very good. The soy latte was smooth and because of the soy milk it was slightly sweet. Overall the coffees were on point. The cashier was friendly and gave good recommendations for coffee. Overall the staff were super friendly and cool! The exterior of this coffee joint was made out of a shipping container which was really legit. Super artsy and creative to design restaurants and coffee joints out of a shipping container the whole area really gave off some cool fun vibes. Coffee makes my world a happier place. Hot, cold, freshly brewed or old, cream no cream - sweet or not, fancy barista or from a gas station- I'll take it. I was waiting for my waffle order from Waffle Love (they don't have coffee) and walked over here to get it. I sometimes feel so ignorant with the names of coffee and how its served with or without the frothy milk, in a tiny cup or bigger. Little surprise, faced with an entire board of choices, I again had to ask, I'd like a coffee with a double shot of espresso in a large cup with frothy milk. I did not know this = latte. SImple right? I really liked the no lines, quick service, not too hot coffee I got with a little swirl on the surface - that's pretty. In addition, I've been trying to use no sweeteners at all and this is honestly the first latte I got that I enjoyed from the get-go. Other places jazz it up or hide the poor quality with syrups or a sprinkle of spices. This latte was good without all that ceremonial flair. It was so good, I did not even need a lid or straw. Located in the awesome SteelCraft co-op, Steelhead offers a great cup of coffee just outside the entrance gate. Like most hipstery coffee houses, their menu is relatively simple, with each drink costing around $4-5. Since I literally just finished a cold brew from Starbucks some 20 minutes beforehand (it's not a problem! I can quit coffee anytime I want!), I opted for an iced latte ($4.50 for 16oz). The drink came out pretty quickly, and tasted great! Smooth and sweet, it makes for a great mood booster. I didn't even need to add sugar or creamer. The one down-side of my caffeine addiction however, was that I couldn't determine the veracity of the brew's strength. Between the earlier cold brew and this latte, I couldn't tell how strong the coffee was. I'll chalk this up as a first-world problem. As an aside, their pastries looked tantalizing, but unfortunately, I didn't get one. I had been meaning to stop at this place all semester long. It looks really interesting and called my attention. Anyway, the day I finished my spring courses, I decided to reward myself with a drink. I stopped by and opted for a Chai latte, hot. The guy said it was very good, so I ordered a large. I get my drink and sip cautiously and realize there's no need. It is barely warm. By the time I'm home (I live about a mile and a half away) it was super cold. The drink itself was not the greatest. I know a lot of spices are in Chai and I expected that, but the overpowering cinnamon ruined it for me. It was so strong, the back of my throat stung with every sip. Even my dad took a sip and was like "is it supposed to burn your throat like that?" We did drink it all, because $5, but I wouldn't order it again. read more
