Service is great. Booths are uncomfortable. Seats feel old. Very dated tired interior. Food is just average. Tortilla encrusted flounder - you don't need to dump what seems like an entire container of pico. De gallo on top. Put it off to the side. Maybe all that is needed is one tablespoon not 2 cups full. Mashed potatoes were really bad and inedible. Just stop trying so hard. Mashed potatoes- butter, cream, salt, pepper , maybe a little bit of chives. I'm not sure what was on those but they are the worst mashed potatoes I've ever had in my life. Instant out of a box would have been better. Bread pudding very lackluster. Menu as a whole doesn't have much variation. Steak was superb. But - If you don't want steak or shellfish there isn't a lot else. read more

Multiple people (from out of state) recommended we eat at Steiner Ranch while in town for business. Steven the manager met us in the bar and hooked us up with a great table and awesome view. The wine selection was impressive, steaks were perfect. Charles was our waiter and made our night. Highly recommend eating here when you are in town and request Charles. So hubby decided to surprise me with a nice brunch reservation at Steiner. My first time here and we will definitely return. He made reservations on Sunday for 11:15. When we checked in they took us in right away to be seated and they offer you to sit out or in. We chose outside because it was nice enough and I loved the ambience out there. They had the fire going and it was a beautiful view. The staff was excellent and on top of everything while wearing that smile. It is a buffet style and they have different stations for different types of food. They had the sweets like french toast in one area and another area they had a spot to make you omelettes and carving station, they had two more stations with more options. When you are taken to your seats they offer you something to drink. We ordered mimosas and that was delicious and enjoyable also. Everything was cooked to perfection and it tasted great and fresh. They provide you with good portions of it all as well. My experience here was a perfect 10. The brunch is only offered on Sundays from 10-2 I believe and I suggest make reservations. They do have some seats at the bar for you if you didn't have reservations but its very limited at the bar. The bathrooms were clean and there is parking for the restaurant. I definitely recommend this place for their brunch and when you get the chance sit outside. read more

My little lady surprised me with an amazing dinner here. Our server Bradl was FANTASTIC. He suggested the king crab and it was amazing!! The butter made the dish melt in our mouths. Bradley was pretty funny, he noticed our expression and said "Love at first bite?" The filet might have been the best steak I've ever had. Bradly insisted on taking us to the patio to take our picture as the sky had some cool red and pink colors from the sunset. This is a birthday I'll never forget!!! Let's start off by saying my experience here for the first time was amazing. Our server TONY was the cake, icing and so much more. Tony's customer service was impeccable. I asked for a hook for my purse, even though the restaurant did not offer hooks, Tony made it a point to accommodate my request and pulled a chair up so that I could put my purse on. This may seem small to some but it's the little things that go a long way. Tony's customer service was one of the big reasons my fiancé and I came back the next day for the brunch. Now the food. Mouth watering steak that packed flavor, green beans, mashed potatoes and creamed corn is to die for. The ambiance overlooking the lake was a beautiful experience to celebrate our engagement. I enjoyed my time at here. I took my girl for her 31st bday. I made reservations and was sat shortly after my arrival. They had a live band outside and once we got out there, the host attempted to sit us at a table in the middle of the place - surrounded by families with children. I requested the smaller table near the band - overseeing the hills and they accommodated my request. Although it was extremely loud, the views were perfect and the service was great. From the moment we were seated, he was attentive without being overbearing, incredibly knowledgeable and made thoughtful recommendations (banana foster syrup) that turned out to be absolutely delicious. We had date night last night and wanted to get out an Austin staple that we had heard good things about but never got to try. I was impressed by the menu online, which featured many different steak and seafood dishes. They also had an impressive wine list. When we arrived, the parking lot by the restaurant was full so we had to use overflow parking down below the restaurant. I expected there would be a foot path to get back up the hill but there was not. We had to climb uphill using the driveway which had traffic and felt unsafe. Being a Friday night and beautiful weather, there was a full crowd on the patio so we sat inside. Inside the restaurant, we felt like we had been transported back to the 1980's. This is a "sizzler" style steak house that was very nostalgic for us. Our waiter William was kind a d friendly. Our appetizers, salads, and drinks went pretty well but service for our main course was SLOW. We waited at least 40 minutes for mains to arrive. We did not think the food was noteworthy. My steak, ordered medium was very well done. My husband's seafood dish of mixed grill was serviceable. One pro of this location was the amazing sunset view of Lake Travis. read more

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and our server, Luke, provided us with some excellent suggestions from the pork belly and crab cake appetizers to the Surf-and-Turf and Halibut specials. Aside from the beautiful grounds and amazing service the staff has always provided, the food is amazing. This last time we were there, I recommended our company planner to book us here for our team Christmas dinner with our spouses. So, although it was a limited menu.... The chef did not limit his/ her quality. The steak was cooled to perfection. The perfect amount of salt and pepper was sprinkled as it seared then im sure as it was finished off .. I mean, even the little fat it had was amazing. The sides we had were also taken to their perfect serving point. The mashed potatos weren't swimming im butter but were definitely not thirsty. The bartender was not shy about pouring some high quality spirits, sodas and other beverages. There was no delay from the serving staff and we never lacked anything as guests. Steiner is most certainly my go to now for anything special or.... My wife wants a steak on Tuesday :) Looking forward to Valentines dinner now. read more

Went on a Tuesday night to celebrate my birthday and it was still a full house. Had reservations for two, was offered outside but was an extended wait time. We waited like 5 minutes and was seated to an inside table with a view. Very unique menu, it lit up literally which was pretty cool. Tons of appetizers options even queso and a fried avocado. Multiple salad options severed in two sizes. All steaks are severed with mashed potatoes and veggies of the day which was green beans. Also a handful of non steak options options are also available. I ordered Cobb salad and the steak and cake (crab cake). Everything was cooked to perfection and a very moist crab cake full of carb. The steak was so tough that we couldn't cut it never the less eat it. My wife had to eat her dish so that it wouldn't get cold, but it took twenty minutes for them to bring us a bland piece of meat. The crab was tasteless as well. My wife paid a high tab and when she calked the manager today to discuss he said that it's a shame that we couldn't appreciate the meal. Went to the 4th of July Brunch and got an amazing seat. Here's the breakdown - potatoes had zero flavor, the omelet lacked flavor (perhaps a pinch of salt please). The prime rib was way too fatty. The lobster mac & cheese was good as well as the Frittata. I think considering what you pay per person there should be something that blows you away other than the view. I was disappointed. The manager did discount our bill $16 which was something. I will not be returning for this experience. From other recent Brunch reviews, I am not alone in Steiner Ranch lacking in experience in regard to Brunch. read more

I had the Filet Mignon, but my photo didn't populate the way I intended so it's not posted here. Tried that in addition to the NY Strip steak, and the prime rib. All absolutely fantastic, tender, cooked to perfection. A steak house that executes its' feature option at an exceptional level. Having a sommelier on site added to the meal as our wine was perfectly paired to our taste and to our meal. Our waitress was amazing and attentive, it did get a little busy as the night went on and the visits/checkups weren't as frequent, but still great service nonetheless.
