I hate to update my review b/c the gentleman that came out was really nice. After spending 300+, I had so hoped the issue would be fixed. I even waited a week+ after the appt, but it did it abate. I did not want to be that client. I gave them a great initial review. When it was apparently not fixed, I called to get a second appt, I was told it would be $1000+ (and that the 300 I had paid earlier would not count toward that. The person that answered was not interested in my family living in a sweat lodge, or how much we had already paid. How much is this going to be I wondered?? Is there a ceiling? I am just going with a different company. Wish them the best in their endeavors, I just don't have an unlimited amount to spend. I am sure it's not like this for all. read more

(Long overdue review) I have used Stephens consistently ever since I moved into Palos Verdes six years ago. Specifically, Oscar has always done an excellent job servicing my air conditioner. Last year, I had to have the condenser replaced. The pricing was fair, they gave me a quote in advance that I was able to compare with others just a sanity, check the price, and Oscar has always been good at advising me on what he would do if it were his own and he has never steered me wrong. This year, I experienced a warm air when I kicked on my air conditioner for the first time. Turns out, my compressor simply needed to be cleaned. Ryan, Freddy, and Trevor were all professional and managed to schedule me within 24 hours of my initial call. I was skeptical at first, but what sold me was that they offered a free inspection and estimate with plenty of time to think it over. Compared to other bids, this company gave me the best offer and response time. I usually don't give praise, but I have to commend the team for doing such a fantastic job. Very disappointed with this plumbing company. I am opening a new business in Palos Verdes and was having some problems with a floor drain. I was recommended Stephens, so I brought them in to snake the drain. Their young tech ran into some blockages and immediately went into the dire possibilities. I decided to halt everything to assess the situation. Stephen's still charged me the full freight of sneaking a drain, which they never cleared and never helped with any diagnosis. The drain for my washing machine was backing up and my toilets were gurgling so I called Stephens Plumbing this morning and they were able to come out within a few hours. There was a clog in the main pipe and Jose Sancen was honest and explained the problem clearly. The problem was resolved today and he even gave suggestions for any future problems we may encounter. I called last week to make an appointment for this morning. I needed the toilet tank kit replaced in one of our toilets. Diego was very helpful and professional in setting up our appointment today and said the plumber would give me a firm price when he arrived but it should be about 1 hour labor plus parts. The best quality kits are available at Home Depot for $30. So I expected a cost of around $200. When the plumber called me this morning to confirm the appointment he was quite curt. He said he was more than an hour away and didn't want to waste his time so he gave me a quote of $450 over the phone. This was very upsetting after I cleared my calendar to meet the plumber this morning. I would never recommend them unless you want to be misled and want to over pay. read more

I used this company 6 years ago and they were great. I had to use a different company since I have a deadline from home warranty; although with them I would cash out and use a local company. We had a decades old wall furnace that needed immediate replacement as winter was coming. Figured it would be a long :-( wait for install (as other people might be thinking of upgrading their heating systems at this time.) Surprise, surprise, the job from start to finish took less than a week !!!! and that included replacing a roof vent that didn't meet current specifications via state laws. At the initial estimate, the price seemed pretty fair for a top quality heater. A few days later a couple guys came and took out the flue to the roof. And finally, today, two extremely knowleadgeble and pleasant fellows, Trevor and Freddy, came in and 'zip'! just like that we have a working furnace.!! The install took maybe two hours. So very pleased!!! Highly recommend. And now we will feel warm for the winter, and better than that will feel a lot safer because the old furnace is gone! read more

One word. Awesome! They take care of their customers and provided great service and price in replacing our AC condenser! Ryan replied back to me on Yelp and got things rolling with a complimentary diagnostic and estimate appointment with Oscar. Oscar provided all the information I needed and gave options for different brands in replacing the AC condenser or trying to fix the current (old) AC condenser. Cost-wise, replacing the AC condenser was the better option. After contacting Ryan and Oscar through email and the phone, an appointment was set up to replace the AC condenser for today.
