We enjoyed dinner here while visiting the area. We got the fried shrimp dinner with hush puppies, coleslaw and baked beans; the grilled Amberjack dinner with hush puppies, coleslaw and greens. Simply the best. Walked in and was greeted by joyful staff. Menu is simple with many options to choose from. I choose the Oyster Dinner it's served with two side and hush puppies for $17.99. I choose the Cheese Grits and Potato Salad. The Fried Oysters were cooked to perfection seasoned well. The cheese grits were smooth creamy with the right amount of cheese. The potato salad was seasoned perfectly potatoes were cooked to the perfect texture. The hush puppies were crispy with the right amount of moistness on the inside. We came by from the airport to get some lunch and were very happy! We ordered the shrimp taco special which was fantastic! Big tacos with lots of shrimp topped with slaw, salsa, cheese and a creamy sauce and a side of crispy seasoned fries. We also had the fried grouper sandwich and upgraded from fries to onion rings. The sandwich very good and was loaded with crispy fried fish, tarter sauce and slaw. The onion rings came in a basket and were lightly battered, fried crispy and seasoned and were great! The food at this place is incredible! I mean truly top notch. I got the grilled mahi dinner plate with baked beans and cheese grits and my husband got the fried Stewby's platter with potato salad and collard greens. Everything was delicious! The shrimp, don't get popcorn it's not good... but the colossal shrimp is awesome! The calamari is tender but has virtually no seasoning... all the fish I have had both grilled and fried has been very good. Would not recommend the gumbo either. I like coming here every time I'm in the area but for sure have to know what not to order. I like the area it's in, easy to get in and out of mostly. It's clean and well maintained. Service is straight forward and the staff is polite enough. It usually does not take very long to get your order and they are patient with you when your ordering. read more

This was the last Stewbys I had left to try and it did not disappoint. We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, it was mid-day and there were a good number of people there. Probably 15 minutes after we ordered, we got our food. The building is like the other locations, but much better than the original, which is cramped and dim. The food is as good as the original and I've been eating Stewbys since 2012. We got our oyster poboys and fish taco and some sides and life was good!! The oysters were cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly and the sides were everything we have come to know and love over the years. The cheesy grits are definitely recommended. The cole slaw is wonderful! We have eaten Stewbys every single day when we have visited FWB in the past. Now we live closer and pop over when we can-about every other month. read more

Went to this place in Crestview a couplemof months ago after looking at the reviews and menus on what was in the area for seafood. I saw some reviews positive about the food quality and flavor, but others also complained about the cost. At least one response from the owner/manager mentioned that tge expense was due to the fsct that they bring in "fresh" and high quality fish each day. I ordered the daily fresh catch being a mahi-mahi sandwich wih fries and also got an additional side of fried okra. I expected and good hoagie type bread roll with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onion......got a tastless bun with only a fish filet drowned in sauce and nothing else. ????? Why pay for expensive fresh fish and hide all that flavor with a cheap sauce to completley overwhelm the natural flavor of the fish!? Okra was very bland. Wouldn't ever get that again. One other key note that will keep me from ever going back is how you walk to the counter to place an order.... machine asks for a tip (10%, 15%, 20%) as you make payment in advance. I left a tip for the first time expectiing to have it at least brought to me..NOPE.... you go back to the counter to pick up, obtain your own condiments, you throw away trash and clear your own table. I get irritated more and more as these places ask for a tip just for selling you their product with no real service in any way being provided to you. Don't think I'll ever go back to any Stewby's restaurant. read more

You can tell by the long lines this place is good. Fresh seafood at somewhat reasonable prices. The grilled fish is always good and if they have seasonable vegetables you should get them because they're awesome; especially the grilled zucchini. Repeatedly disappointing. When this location first opened, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. However, the food has been overcooked the last three times we've been here. Crab claws and shrimp are fried too hard, and the fish is grilled until it is dry.
