I also go the Banana Milk which was less impressive, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Would probably not get it again - it tastes literally like what you'd expect, milk with a subtle hint of banana. Korean corn dogs-so good!! Instead of cornbread on the outside its kind of like a mochi dough, it's got a but of a sticky chew with a perfectly crisp outside. You can get it with different toppings on top like fries or hot Cheetos hut since this was our first time we just got it the classic way: sugar. It was SO good, highly recommend trying it that way. We got one dog with cheese and one with cheese and meat. Honestly we liked it a lot more with the meat, the cheese kind of didnt contribute a lot in terms of flavor, while there was a great cheese pull. I ordered the ramen combo dog online and pick up time was 2:45 pm. Got it right on 2:45 pm. First impressions of the dog is small.. so it is a bit overpriced. First bite, not bad but there's literally no flavor. Outside is crunchy and inside is dry. Then, finally I saw the "dog" (which is like a mini size) dog with the ramen wrap was good. Not to be confused with "Sticks" who also specializes in corndogs in Oakland. I'd forgotten they were called "Stix" and kept mistyping their name into Yelp which yielded results for another establishment. I finally came to the realization that this shop is called "Stix". Oops. We ordered a strawberry milk and a banana milk, a beef corn dog and two cheese corndogs with potatoes. The drinks arrived posthaste and I was pleasantly surprised. Being born in Seoul, I grew up drinking Korean strawberry milk and banana milk. Strawberry milk here in the States was always all like the Nesquik versions, too sweet for me and has a "different" type of strawberry" taste to it. And I had never been able to find similar banana milk that wasn't like a banana milkshake. I liked Stix's version - not exactly like the Korean versions I know (it doesn't have to be) but refreshing and not overtly sweet. A thumbs up from me. Our corn dogs took a little longer than it needed to, I thought. When it finally arrived, it wasn't that hot so I knew it had sat out a bit so perhaps it just got busy back there. My husband loved the plain beef corndogs - he opted for no cheese or potatoes. I liked that they had a good variety of dipping sauces, all self service as they were available on their trolley. I had the cheese, potato corndog - no sugar. If I could give it a criticism it would be to add a bit of a salty element to it. Despite having tried various sauces, something tasted amiss and then I realized there was no salt to bring out any of the flavors. The husband agreed with me. Due to the quarantine, they require the use of their website to order to follow social distancing guidelines. The website was easy to navigate and the food took about 15 minutes to prepare. It was a bit pricey for what it is but definitely worth it. The area is easy to find parking around, but they do require paying for meters. We ordered the Combodog without sugar. The batter was very light and crunchy, the inside was super cheesy, and the hot dogs came in 2 parts inside. While it was tasty, we found it wasn't much better than any other decent corndog (with the exception of the batter). About a month later, we decided to give it another shot and this time ordered a Combodog, Ramencheese corndog, Potatocombo corndog (All with sugar!), and the Deluxe Waffle Fries. I was excited to try out Stix because I have been craving Korean corndogs! The best ones I've had are from Myungrang in LA, and I wanted to see if other shops in the Bay Area were just as good. Ordering online is quite easy, and according to the interface, they would send you a text and/or email once your order was ready. My order was supposed to be ready at 1:50PM, but I had not received any notifications even by 2:20PM! It seems like they do not use this feature, so should it would be best to ask an employee if they have your order ready when you get there. (This could also be because we ordered during the Happy Hour and they were just swamped. But better to check in if you're there anyways!) For the corndogs, we ordered a potato combo and a regular combo, both dipped in sugar. These corndogs are pretty big compared to the ones in LA, so I was pleasantly surprised. However, the taste itself was bland and the cheese in the middle were still in chunks (not melted). The whole experience was a little underwhelming. I definitely think that sauces would have improved the flavor, but I've also read a couple reviews that the sauces can only do so much. (Sauces are $0.25 extra...) I LOVE this place. I've been here quite a few times even before the SIP and I definitely miss being able to chill inside with my friends while eating/drinking such yummy food and drinks. My most recent visit was on a Friday afternoon; I placed an order for pickup online and I ended up ordering a brown sugar milk tea and potatocheese corndog with a side of fries. The brown sugar milk tea tasted really sweet at first but it ended up being pretty good. It wasn't too watery and it had this perfect milky taste to it that I really liked too. I'm also super picky when it comes to this drink and only like it from certain places, but all and all I ended up liking it from this place. The star of the show is definitely the potato snacks!!! The potatocheese corndogs always have the perfect amount of cheese and the potato batter is always made fresh and delicious. The fries pretty much tasted like curly fries but in waffle form, but I love curly fries so the waffle fries were just as good as everything else here. This place is awesome! I'm a bit surprised that this trendy street food from Korea has made it to SF while Korean food in SF is generally pretty mediocre, but I'm not complaining. I got the potato combodog while my boyfriend got the hotdog... absolutely amazing. The texture is crispy, crunchy and chewy all at once! The shell seems to be made from rice flour rather than wheat flour, which gives it a very different texture than your average corndog. It's definitely worth trying at least once. The fries on the potato-dogs were an interesting touch and added a little bit more crispiness. On the combodog, the filling alternates cheese-sausage-cheese-sausage. It was honestly such an adventure!! The cheese has such a pull that you'd have to manually break apart the cheese sometimes (not a bad thing). Only things I would improve... I would make the corndogs smaller, because they're HUGE and food coma-inducing. I would rather pay $4 for half the size they have rather than $7 for the full size. They offer dogs, fries, milk teas, fruit teas and other beverages in combos and a-la-carte. I ordered the combo dog, with no sugar. I decided to also have a green tea with peach, lemon and boba with no extra sugar. From their available sauces I selected the spicy mayo. The corn dog is really good. Really good. The crust is crispy and crunchy and the corn dog contains alternating layers of cheese and meat. Cheese pull will happen! Each corn dog is made to order so be prepared for a wait. The cashier, the only person working in the front area, would take 3 or 4 orders and then stop so he could fill the drink orders. There is a self serve section for the sauces, which all seemed pretty decent. The spicy mayo provided a good balance to the richness of the fried dough. Seats are available at small tables and at a long counter. It's fairly dark inside and seems like a spot for folks to hang out but they close at 7:30 pm. I"m sure they would be a popular late night spot. When I stopped by it was mostly teenagers and with a couple of young kids. They also have an option where you can go sans cheese or dog, and also an option where potatoes are mixed into the outside batter. I was quite impressed by the cheesiness of the corn dog. The mozzarella really gave a nice cheese pull. Also, I would suggest going with the sugar coating on the outside, adding this gives that nice sweetness to the savoriness of the whole thing. They had a few selections of sauces that you could add to your corn dog, I choose the wasabi mayo which I found to be good. The hotdogs were cut into segments and loaded with mozzarella cheese in each. The corn dogs has a crunchy chewy texture, beef flavor and were not too salty.
