I would like to start by saying I made a reservation and it was amazing! We were greeted with beautiful faces and great energy. We ordered a 10oz ribeye streak that $85 which was find however, it was over cooked! The reason for the score is because my spouse and I returned the NEXT NIGHT! We walk downstairs to have a late night mocktail and grab a bite before bed upstair at the Marriott! We seat at the bar because of course we had were dress for up on this night . Visited STK at 5 pm on opening day for their happy hour. Was really impressed how smoothly everything seemed to be running in day 1 and the service was over the top friendly and aiming to please. Happy hour plates were really good, and though they ranged from $5-8 per plate, they were definitely on the "bite" side. It cost about $100 for two people at happy hour, and that only included three drinks. The drinks were half price though so that was a good deal, but I'm super alcohol sensitive and never felt it at all, so I can see where others would rack up quite a drink bill. You should also know before you go that it very much has a loud, young, club vibe. Loud club music that made it difficult to hear anybody you're with, but as long as that's what you're looking for, it's all good. I have never before wanted to give zero stars. STK was a last minute restaurant choice, and I entered with an open mind. Big mistake. * Decor is bizarre, a tacky 1980s Miami Vice homage with white leather banquettes * The music is way too loud, even in the bathroom. Disco covers, for some reason. * The menu is *extremely* overpriced and the portions are minuscule * My $52 filet, while cooked correctly medium rare, was simply not a good quality steak, with a strangely mushy and grainy exterior texture under the sear, almost like it had been marinated in an acid * The filet was also massively oversalted (and I assure you I love salt). * The sauce Bearnaise had the consistency of mayo, and did not appear to have been freshly made in house *Wine list was ok, but some glasses cost more than I'd spend on a bottle (I think I saw one at $57!). * Only high points: the asparagus was perfect (although at $19, insane for a side dish), and the server/host were both really nice. Overall, I felt extremely ripped off. I will pay top dollar for top food in a high end restaurant, but this just sucked all around. Here is my complaint. Please review. This is about the worst experience and food I have ever had: Back on Mother's Day, I took my wife and mom to STK Bellevue and had an overall good experience. Since today was Father's Day, we made a reservation for 6:30pm for dinner at STK Bellevue for 8 people (2 could not make it), so we had dinner for myself (the father), my wife, my son, my stepson, his wife and his cousin. I am not one to complain, and did not do so at the restaurant because we like uninterrupted meals and go with the flow, but this was THE WORST dinner, THE WORST experience and just the MOST STUPID PRICING for garbage food ever. Here's how it went. We got to the restaurant at 6:27pm and were seated promptly at a table that was right by the entrance. It was cold and blustery outside so whenever the door opened, we had cold air blowing in on us. At 7:04pm, after SITTING WITH NO SERVER FOR 37 MINUTES, NO WATER, NOBODY, a busperson walked by and asked if we had been helped yet. A busser. (And just to let you know, I have my BA degree in Hospitality from WSU and worked as a manager in the industry for 12 years, so I know how to run a restaurant, which apparently the manager at this store does not know how to do). After 41 minutes, we finally got a server. She took a drink order. Finally, My mouth was dry as a bone and I could finally get some water. I won't draw this out longer but here is what was wrong on the visit line item by line item: 37 minutes to be acknowledged at our table 41 minutes waiting for a server 51 minutes to get a glass of water and drinks Bread for the table that had the most oversalted butter ever and was only about 1/3 of the way baked. Basically raw. My 10oz filet I ordered medium well came out BUTTERFLIED, well done and turned into a hockey puck. Ando to top that off, it was cold. What professional steakhouse butterflies a filet???? My wife's 6 oz filet she ordered medium came out WELL DONE and the streak was wrecked. Her steak was served cold as well, like it was sitting out for 20 minutes. My daughter in law had filet/lobster tail and the lobster was so overcooked it was like a chewing a tire and she couldn't eat it My stepson ordered is del monico steak medium rare and it came out bleu. like basically raw My son had halibut in chips (FOR $69 for 2 tiny frozen halibut pieces and my son said it tasted like sand....really, $69 for 2 tiny pieces of fish??? Yes, I have photos) Busser spilled his water on his fish and couldn't eat it anymore, dinner was wrecked 3 of the 6 plates had big chips missing on the plates half of the silverware knives had big chips out of the handles (steak knives) Get this one.....the restaurant was out of straws. All of the drinks were not mixed and the waitress just said they ran out of straws and didn't even bring a spoon we could stir them with (isn't that kind of a logical this to do??) My son's mocktails had so many mint leaves thrown in he could barely choke it down because it tasted so bad. And for $12 for a mocktail that has soda water, mint leaves and a little flavoring is ridiculous. THE PRICES YOU CHARGE ARE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I could have gone to an actual decent steakhouse that actually knows how to cook a steak for half the prices of your joke of a food establishment. MY BILL FOR 6 PEOPLE WAS $740 BEFORE TIP. With this experience and garbage food quality, you should have paid us to eat it and drink it. We did tip the waitress who was pretty nice because service staff does work hard and needs a good tip. We had a reservation for 15 people to celebrate a special occasion for one of our friend. This was my first time here and I didn't really have any expectation. Unfortunately three of our friends couldn't be here so we had told the waiter to seat us until they get here. Unfortunately, they refused to seat us as they claimed that's the house rule that EVERYONE had to be here together. So we had to wait outside in this cold weather for God knows how long. After waiting for a bit we told the host to go ahead and seat the 12 of us but apparently Dustin who is the supervisor refused for unknown reason. Then when we peaked inside it looks like the whole place was packed and CLEARLY you can tell they overbooked the place. They had at least 20 people standing inside the place waiting for a seat and I guess they just wanted an excuse to keep us standing outside until people leave. The whole experience was just weird and unwarranted. The place is actually decorated really well and it's got a modern look to it. The music was playing hip hop the whole time and had a nice vibe to it. I got the Maple Rubbed Salmon and tots which was good. We got a whole lot of different variety including bone-in-strip, cowgirl, Ribey and New York strip (pictures attached below). The famous one was the dry-aged tomahawk which was about 34oz which runs around $160. It seemed like a couple of people complained that the food didn't taste as good as Ascend's steak to say the least. I only gave it one star for the service because our waitress Mana who was really good; she was attentive, nice and explained the menu well, and to be honest, that was the only positive about this place. Thank you Mana for the service, I know it can be overwhelming catering to a group that was already frustrated walking in but I want you to know that you are amazing and a rock-star. The appetizers took way too long not to mention the food but I guess since most of our orders were steak that would make sense but still, it looked like they were disorganized and overwhelmed. We asked for the bill to be separated but I guess you can't do that as well so we had to pay as a group, we have been to many restaurants as a group but this is the first time I heard this rule, and we have been to many restaurants together as a group. Note to management: please work on having an organized system for seating people. We ordered the lil brgs, which were dry and bun was stale, the truffle fries which were merely bar fries you could get at any pub for a fraction of the cost, and finally the burrata. We came here to celebrate my birthday and ordered the NY steak strip, tuna tartare, and sweet corn cream. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary yummy bread and deviled eggs and while the steak and tuna dishes were only decent, the sweet corn cream was amazing, hahaha. We were also intrigued to try one of their salads and lobster linguine. We were helped by Valentina and she was absolutely wonderful as well, making the experience overall very pleasant and enjoyable. One big downside, however, were the women's restroom. There were 3 stalls but none of them had toilet paper properly installed. Instead, the roll was sitting on the floor, which is a bit disgusting. Also, the lightbulb needed replacing in the last stall so customers don't have to pee in semi-darkness. My rating doesn't reflect how I feel about their restroom, which probably only deserves 1 star. If you're looking for conspicuous consumption, this could be the one for you, but there are many great steak houses in the Seattle area that don't gouge like STK. Do us all a favor and let her find a job she's happier at. She's letting the guy do all the work. So after checking with with the guy at the counter, he walked off without writing our names down. Much later after someone else was helped out of turn, the gal at the counter ask us for our name to put in the waiting list. What, you and your co-host don't talk to each other or something? As I was leaving, I handed her the parking to validate. First of all, no eye contact. Then she yanked the parking ticket out of the machine before the light turned green so I wonder if it was properly validated. Fortunately with snowflake lane they just let everyone out so I didn't have to find out the hard way whether the ticket was validated for Lincoln Square parking or not. That gal is how people come up with terms like resting you know what face. Lastly, with the restaurant literally half empty, why did you take 10 min to seat us? Yeah, not sure when I'm returning again. I don't like being kept waiting for no good reason. When and if I do, hopefully the gal with glasses is either working at a happier situation or got an attitude adjustment. Five star service from Peter. I'm here with my dog - 2 year old puppy and we are having brunch together while my husband sleeps the night after a wild birthday party night. We are staying across the street at the W. The hotel staff gave me a $10 gift card and we went for a walk and ended our excursion here. First $5 mimosas and bloody Mary's is exactly what the doctor ordered. I had 2 of the grapefruit. They both came out just how I like them- mostly champagne with a splash of juice. Let me tell you the complimentary French brioche and butter that come out for the table.... Heaven sent. Like I could have easily ate just that and left a happy girl. The butter must have some type of cinnamon and sugar mixed in that is just.... Goodness Finally on to the main course. I ordered the truffle steak and egg. Medium with the chimichurri because I can never turn down a good chimi sauce. Chefs kiss. It came with shoestring hash browns and an over medium egg cooked in the middle of toast. Very yummy. Peter also gave me dining credits for another brunch experience and I'm definitely coming back soon to use them. This is the only place within walking distance that was open at 9am and I'm so pleased it was. Awesome food and friendly service. Oh! I flew in to Seattle and I asked some of the locals where to go for a great happy hour and food selection, someone mentioned STK. I walked into a whole vibey-purpley lit atmosphere. First off, the hostess Nicole was a breath of fresh air. She was so friendly and inviting, we ended up chatting for like 15 mins, I felt like I had known her my whole life, she confirmed this was the place to be. I sat down and ordered the Perfect Margarita and a dozen oysters. They brought out this amazing bread with a blue cheese butter and basil oil, and oh my word, that bread is a game changer! The margarita was delicious as well as the oysters. Marcin was my server and he was fantastic, engaging and checked on me to make sure I was enjoying my food. In fact, the entire staff was so happy and genuinely enjoyed the environment and their job, you could clearly see that. Everyone that passed my table smiled, the vibe was contagious. The manager, Larry, even came by to see how the oysters were and I let him know that he did a great job selecting his staff because it's not often you see every person loving their work place. Larry is awesome and this place has that good energy. The happy hour selection are well priced and they also have a live DJ playing great music. It's just a really cool vibe and will definitely go back. Overall, the food was great the service wasn't than after dinner we went to the bar to redeem a quick coupon we got at the Hilton Hotel in Bellevue for a free drink and the bartender didn't really pay no attention to us she treated other customers with much more respect and kindness but, I felt mistreated due to providing the coupon. The atmosphere and aesthetic is so pretty. I would definitely return to STK. For starters we were served bread with this amazing garlic sauce, and ordered the burrata - I wish I could make beets like this at home! My drink of choose was the strawberry cobbler. Our main dish we shared the tomahawk steak with truffle butter on top, au poivre and chimichurri were our dipping sauces. The sides we chose were the mashed potatoes and truffle fries. So so so good! Went there with my wife for an early dinner - decided to take a seat in the bar - it is a cool place, with a chick ambiance. My wife wasn't sure what drink to take, and based on what she said she like, the bartender suggested one of thier signature cocktails with tequila instead of the standard vodka - and she loved it (stiletto-something). We shared a crabcake for starters and it was great - too many crabcakes are full of fillers to save on the crab, but this was not all all, lots of crab and full of taste. My husband got the braised beef which was fantastic. I opted out for salmon. I loved it. It was perfectly cooked and not dry. I'm always skeptical about getting fish because it either a hit or miss. Came here for a team dinner. Here are the key takeaways. Food 2/5: I ordered the medium rare Ribeye and it was overseasoned and dry. It was also more like a medium and was not juicy the way a ribeye should be. We took our family here for a nice Christmas dinner. The ambience was as beautiful as their location in Las Vegas. The musical vibe was giving for sure. However, we had a 6p reservation and was still forced to wait 20-25 minutes to be seated when we arrived. I've come to STK quite a few times now. I've been for brunch, dinner, and happy hour. Generally I have always had a good experience, but the last couple of times I have been a bit disappointed, especially with my last visit. I really enjoy coming to their happy hour as the deals are amazing. When the weather is nice sitting out in the sun on their patio is a great vibe. Service has been a bit odd the last couple of times. Last time I went there it felt like the server was trying to rush us out. She asked if we were done with food when clearly we had quite a bit left. My friend's cocktail was a little less than halfway empty and she asked if she was finished and could take it. Then she brought us the bill without asking if we wanted anything else even though we did want to order more. Not sure if they are trying to chase out customers after a certain time but it definitely felt that way! The time before it was the same we were not asked if we wanted anything else and they just plopped the bill on the table when we had planned to order more. Our waitress was great, she made great mocktail recommendations. The food was good. I really liked my sea bass and warm cookie for dessert. I got to try a couple different appetizers since we came with a group. The cheese burrata was probably my favorite. The tuna tartare was also really well seasoned and good. It is a great choice when you want to dress up a bit, which I feel like you don't have much occasion to in Seattle. That being said we were here for brunch got seated at 1:15pm. Takes an hour to get our order. We move tables because the table is small. 2 hours of my time wasted. Not waitresses fault but yeah not coming back. We were given free entrees but time is time and I don't get my 2 hours back. Same with the friends I went with as well. I am not quite sure how this restaurant chain can vary so much depending on the location. Unfortunately this particular one in Bellevue is quite disappointing. Very mediocre food at same high prices. Everything was cooked okay but....I don't know.... Maybe the quality of ingredients wasn't there? I ordered steak frites and it looked and tasted like something I purchased at Costco and cooked at home. Our server was nice but clearly seemed pretty inexperienced (which I am more than okay with these days, especially given the staffing situation everywhere - it definitely did not add to the experience either though). I've been to STK a few times since they opened in Bellevue and this time I have to say, the food was so much better than before. We came during happy hour and ordered several dishes. Kumamoto oysters, shrimp cocktail and the spicy watermelon margarita with vodka were fresh and so good. You need to try the donuts in the bag. It was so addictive. The service was phenomenal especially Travis and Bianca, they were attentive, kind and always making sure their guests are taken care of. They personally made us feel special like VIP. I would recommend STK for anyone who likes to celebrate small or big celebratory or simply having an intimate dinner with your loved ones.
