We had a reservation for 730... there was a line out the door (as if this was a club) and everyone who had a reservation still had to stand in it. Once we got in, there was absolutely no order. None of us knew what we had to do, no hostess came up to us. I made my way to a hostess and she said she'll get us seated once a table became available. We got sat 45 min after our reservation! Then it took a while for us to even get water. When ordering our drinks they were out of 2 red wines that I wanted.... And like the water it took forever to get to us. We got bread, but only cause we asked. They didn't just bring it out like at any other restaurant when it's free. We ordered the maple glazed salmon, short rib, lobster linguine. All were ok and definitely not worth the price. If you've been to any fine dining restaurant this place is an absolute let down. The quality, taste , and presentation of the food is no where near fine dining quality and ridiculously over priced. My friend was celebrating a bday which we told our sever when we ordered drinks. After our meal we were expecting her bday dessert but nothing came. We finally said something to our server and she responded with "oh did you want to order that?" Thankful that the dessert was free because like the food, there was nothing special about the cheesecake. Bathrooms were also a let down... 2 of the 3 stalls had no toilet paper and there was paper towel on the sink and floor. My husband and I eat out plenty, and we can pretty much guarantee that you won't find worse service than STK. They made us wait one hour in spite of having called ahead to reserve. They had the reservation for 8:30. We arrived at 8:15 and were told to wait inside. The bar was full, so we didn't even have room to sit and get drinks. At 9:45, they presented a table to us that was meant for two (we were a party of 4). We left and instead had Happy Hour at Japonessa next door. They took us in, without reservation in less than 20 minutes. We also probably paid half as much as we would have dropped at STK, and the customer service was excellent to boot. I will start this review by saying the food was delicious. However, the service was beyond awful. It took 35 minutes (yes I timed it) to get our first drinks. We were asked what appetizers we wanted 5 minutes before our drinks were delivered. Then after setting our drinks down, we were pressured to order our main course. I spent 500+ dollars on a dinner and have received better service at a Mcdonald's. This was our anniversary dinner and was a let down. It felt like I was intruding on someone's personal space. We order crab cocktails and received 2 small crab legs. The price wasn't on the menu and we were charged $78. It then took them 15 minutes longer to bring out the butter that they forgot. I am not normally a picky person. But for the money spent. I was in shock by the service and manipulative pricing on the menu. I recently went to the STK steakhouse during Restaurant Week; which is a great opportunity to try new restaurants. I went during the late afternoon, not the best time to judge a restaurant but I prefer a quiet and uncrowded setting. Other reviews mention the "dance club" environment and that was my impression, with loud-ish dance music, colored lighting and shiny surfaces. When seated I was asked if I wanted still water or sparkling or anything else to drink. I said sparkling and later was surprised that a $9 sparkling bottle was cracked open and the water poured into my glass. I've had sparkling water at many restaurants offered as complimentary, as with still water. Obviously, it's my mistake for not asking beforehand and making an assumption. For the Restaurant Week prix fixe meal I ordered the oysters, skirt steak and the apple crumble. All selections ranged from merely fine to less than good. The oysters were small but ok. I didn't notice that they were $10 extra. The Restaurant Week menu was printed on purple paper and difficult to read. (Again, I'll take blame for not looking closer, instead of faulting the low lighting) The skirt steak was fine. The waiter didn't ask how I wanted it cooked and it was slightly under what I would consider medium rare. Still it was fine, a bit chewy but it is a skirt steak not filet minion. A good waiter should have asked how I wanted it cooked, even a skirt steak; this is a steakhouse after all. The apple crumble arrived with a dollop of vanilla ice cream in the middle. Small point, but I would have liked it closer to "pipling hot" not just warm. Unfortunately it had little apple flavor and was much, much too sweet. It was left unfinished. To sum it up, my experience is close to what other diner reviews had, which was lackluster at best. Overpriced mediocre food, up-sell service, and a clubby vibe interior. With John Howie and El Gaucho nearby and other exceptional steakhouses in Seattle would I come here again? Hard no. Also STK Business manager: Please don't waste your time offering yet another empty apologetic response. We didn't expect Bellevue to have the same standard like East coast but damn this is too much. Ascend got me food poisoning and this STK cant even cook a steak properly. As someone who has worked in the industry for over 30 years, I can't express how utterly pathetic the service was at STK. Bottled wine list was being "turned over" and it took 30 minutes to finally get one that was actually in stock. $60+ for a lobster linguini that was made with artificial crab or possibly old salmon? My NY was not even remotely good enough to justify its price tag. At this price point the food AND the service should be heads and shoulders above pedestrian competitors. I've had more attentive and knowledgeable service at Applebee's. The ambiance felt like a sub-par Eastern Block nightclub. I'm surprised any of the servers can actually hear the orders over the loud EDM being piped in throughout the bar and into the entire dining room. We had ordered the lobster & eggs Benedict, lobster linguini, Mac and cheese, burger, and steak. Lobster & eggs Benedict: 2/5 this eggs Benedict was so bland that we had to ask for salt to add some flavor with it. The English muffin was also so hard and chewy that we couldn't cut in it with a knife. Lobster linguine: 3/5 unlike the eggs Benedict, this dish was super salty. Honestly could pair the sauce with the eggs Benedict to balance out the salt needed in that dish. The pasta was cooked al dente and it was a pretty creamy dish. Just get an extra cup of water if you decide to order this dish. Burger: 5/5 probably one of the best things to get at this place. The burger was nice and juicy and the fries were cooked nice and thin. Steak: 5/5 I forgot what type of butter was on top of the steak but that was probably the highlight of the show. The steak was nice and juicy but that butter on the steak was AMAZING!! Must get if you get the steak. Mac and cheese: 5/5 I mean you can't mess up Mac and cheese so what can I say. Not being a big steak connoisseur, I felt I only deserved the steakhouse skirt. but I got it with the wagyu umami and horseradish. as a courtesy to the chef I went with medium rate. it was MELT in your mouth divine. perfect portion. the horseradish didn't clear my sinuses like I prefer so if you like your horseradish hot you might be underwhelmed but honestly the steak doesn't need it. we also had the Brussel sprouts, the gigantic tater tots that are more like self contained servings of creamy mashed potatoes. I vaguely remember the table getting an order of calamari which gave enough for 4 adults to have a healthy tasting size. comes with these light and fluffy dinner rolls that are smothered in butter - delicious!!! After reviewing the Restaurant Week menu and checking out a few photos on Yelp, I was looking forward to seeing what STK had to offer. I'm not big on restaurant chains but thought I'd give it a try. Our first visit was unfortunately disappointing in several ways. I'll start by noting that we came for a late lunch, around 3pm on a Sunday. As would be expected, it's a quieter time to dine and the restaurant was not too busy. Despite that and the fact that we ordered off of the smaller Restaurant Week menu, each course was really slow to come out and it took about two hours until dessert was served. Perhaps with COVID there was a shortage of cooks in the kitchen? The bread and steaks were also a letdown though. We were so looking forward to warm, soft freshly baked bread rolls. However the rolls that arrived were not even warm and they were very dry with the top and bottom being almost hard. We had to use a steak knife to cut them. Sad panda. The ribeye steak was super thin, about 1/4 inch thick, and lacked flavor. I took most of it home to put into tacos covered with a bunch of ingredients to add flavor. The mac n' cheese was sufficiently creamy and tasted fine but could use some truffle salt perhaps. The two appetizers (tuna tartare tacos and burrata with beets) were actually really good, as was the cheesecake. Cocktails were all $21 before tax and tip so only one of those was consumed. To add a bit to our discomfort, the face mask mandate was not enforced so people were allowed to enter without one and walk around without them too. The restroom also needed attention. The stall door had the kind of lock where you slide a cylindrical bar to latch. The bar stuck in the closed position and I had to use my purse strap for leverage to break myself out of the stall. So yeah, that explains my first visit. Maybe the kinks will get worked out someday and I can return for the appetizers. read more

I came here last night with my partner cause I wanted to check out the restaurant. We were a bit early for our reservation so we got offered to sit at the bar . Our table was ready in 5 mins which is great . We finally sat down & unfortunately waited about 30 mins to be greeted by our waiter . Interaction seemed unwelcoming & awkward. My partner ordered the French dip & was immediately turned off at the first bite. The over powering taste of ginger and the meat was mostly all fat . My maple salmon was perfect though . It took about 20-25 mins to receive our food , I understand that it is busy during dinner but the least our waiter could've done was inform us on the wait ( that would've been the professional and polite thing to do .) I think your entire team needs to have a staff meeting with how many bad reviews you all receive. If you're going for a " vibe " the least you could do is care about your guests and their experiences. You guys are capable of doing better. Our experience on 12/18/21 wasn't bad at all. At least not compared to the many reviews I read prior to visiting this restaurant. We were waiting on a table at the bar and had a good time. Bartenders were attentive and fast. We ordered casamigos shots, burnt Paloma and a spiced watermelon. All pretty good! For dinner, had the seafood platter appetizer which came out fairly quickly. We also ordered the tuna tartare (yum!) For entrees, me boyfriend and I both ordered the surf & turf with lobster. He added the lobster butter and I added the truffle butter. Wow, that truffle butter on top of the filet was so good! It really enhanced my steak. We both asked our steak med rare, and came out a perfect med rare. Will definitely return. Ok so we had a horrible experience but this place has mad potential if they get their act together! First and foremost, we went for Saturday brunch! It wasn't busy at all. There were hardly 5 occupied tables! So you expect service to be great because it looked slow but to the contrary it was ridiculously slow and mismanaged! Than the bartender asked if we had been helped as he too noticed we had been there for a while. Finally our server came by and introduced himself! For a brunch, they weren't even sure they had English breakfast tea (most common for anyone that serves breakfast) glad they had it! Would have been a joke if they didn't! The social media sites are flooded with their chicken and waffle pictures so we asked our server for that and he was super honest, he said they make it horrible. He said they don't even know how to use salt! He loved chicken and waffles but the one there is horrible he said! Crazy us, we still wanted to try it because it was the main reason we went there! But he couldn't have been more right! It was most definitely the worse chicken and waffle I have ever ever had! Waffles were burnt and dry, chicken was flavorless! He was like "told you so"! We also order French toast! It was really good! Too bad they didn't have whipped cream! It would have made it perfect! We ordered the steak and eggs! I asked specifically for the egg to be on a different plate and made over-medium! I repeated that 3 times! And he said yes! But when my steak and eggs came, the egg was overcooked (not over medium) and it was just annoying that I had to send the egg back and have them redo it! I asked for salt and pepper for my eggs and it took them a good 15-20 minutes to bring that! Once we were done, we waited endless for a check. Once the check arrived, I instantly put my card on it but it just sat there for him to take the card so after like 20 odd mins I had to physically walk it over and ask the guy to run it! Gosh so much potential but so pathetic! Not our servers fault, he was wearing multiple hats and was all over the place aimlessly at times! By the end of it I was so mad I couldn't even give extra stars for the ambiance, location and good French toast that I totally enjoyed! When making reservations, I specifically told them we were there to celebrate a bday and no one even cared to make it special or ask about it! This place needs better management for sure! read more

Excellent service, flavors and portions. This was my first time at STK, my server, Dallas explained the menu very well and recommended a few things which was nice. As for the food, the bread comes with a chive blue cheese spread and is insanely good. We split a 28oz porter Med-rare+ that had a beautiful sear and delicious spice blend used. Side dish of mashed potatoes was the best part. They serve in a little cast iron and it has a crusted cheese topping. I would go back solely for the potatoes. The only reason I'm giving a 4 and not a 5 is because they sliced the steak before it arrived to the table. When I order a big steak like that, I prefer to cut it myself. I honestly was on the phone for 20 minutes and finally hung up when I got to the front desk via my feet. The hostess said that the phone system is through Denver?? so they don't always get phone calls. I got two of the take-out special burgers and it was salty! Not inedible salty, but not tasty salty. I brought one to my coworker who LOVES salt (she douses her poke with soy sauce packets) and she even found it salty. I was here last night for the 3 course dinner $50 during Seattle Restaurant Week and sat at the bar. There were a few hiccups but I will be back soon to try happy hour! The bartender wasn't aware what SRW was or that they were participating but was very friendly and attentive throughout service. As you may have heard, the setting is quite unique but with a live DJ (who I appreciated did not blast the music), blue ambient lighting, and some avant-garde decor, I thought it kept things interesting. First course I chose the tuna tartare tacos and they were excellent! I'm obsessed with the sauce and the shells. Great start to the meal. Second course I got the steak, with added wagyu umami sauce (+$12!) and upgraded to the 8oz wagyu (+$5). The steak was soooo good I wanted to cry a tiny bit. Great cut and good portion size, not disappointing like some placed. Seasoning on it was simple but effective and it was cooked just how I asked. After the first and second course they gave me a dessert menu which was a tiny bit awkward bc that comes with the SRW. There was one choice, the 3 mini cheesecake cones, which weren't quite what I expected, but still tasty and better than a different SRW dessert I had over the weekend. I will point out that they charged $5 extra for the dessert. I got 2 glasses of prosecco ($15 each) and a sparkling water ($9!) so with that, $50 for dinner, and my upgrades/additions my total was $106. Value-wise I think that add ons and some of the alcohol is overpriced, but to me it seems that entrees are appropriately priced. I already have a few friends who want to come back with me to experience Happy Hour in the next few weeks! I met the GM and he was super friendly; cares about the place, its staff, and of course customers! When my fish and chips finally showed up, the fish was not crispy at all, kinda lumpy and the fish was mushy. Worst ever eaten! In between the waiting, a guy without wearing a waitstaff uniform just brushed up to the table and said the fish will take awhile, without explanation nor offered options and just a sentence then disappeared. If I knew it was going to be a 30 mins wait, I would have chosen something else. This was supposed to be a celebration brunch for kiddo's graduation, totally ruined it. I found some of their staffs odd. The dining room probably had 5 tables at that time, wide open still, with empty tables in between the diners. Yet, when the staffs deliver foods or bus the tables, they have no consideration of walk around but had walk right pass your back each time. If the restaurant is pack, totally understandable but the dining room was wide open. The steak was good, burgers were mediocre, and the best of all was the free bread. Summary: All Glitz, No Substance. Had high hope for a late dinner last night in this steakhouse. Walked into this place with a live DJ with pink neon lights. There's some good selection of music but still a little strange to connect a night club atmosphere to a steakhouse. Is it really needed when the DJ just plays on auto track anyway? Limited menu selection and high-pressure sale: we came in with a good appetite and was told that both tomahawk and porterhouse were sold out to share. We were suggested by the waiter for the next high price item. Even though she appeared to be attentive, I felt the sale pressure from her with constant inquiries of adding food items or drinks every time she stopped by our table. Overcooked, sad looking dish and tasted funny: both of our streaks were ordered as medium and came out as nearly-well done. We didn't add any additional add-on for the steak and the steak came out with totally no side at all. Just a steak with the tomato-paste like STK sauce in a dipping jar. As for the steak itself, it's below the standard compared to other local steakhouse. Tasted old--to the point that I wonder if it's slightly rotten and it had cross my mind whether I'll diarrhea the next day. We came out with a whooping $300 bill for a slider, two pineapple juice, one 10oz delmonico, one 8oz ribeyes and one small bag of donuts.... And still felt hungry and unsatisfied. We will not be going back there again. PSA: If you are looking for a clubhouse like atmosphere and the food quality is not important to you, go to STK for the clubhouse music and sparklers shooting from your cake (literally). A little more up-beat than a traditional steakhouse, but not over the top. We started with calamari for an appetizer. I had the 6oz filet w/lobster tail and a side of the mashed potatoes. My wife had the braised short ribs. Both our dinners were fantastic. Wait time from time of order to delivery of food was great. Manhattans and Old Fashions were on point as well. This place scams people. We came here on the 7th. We were over charged. I was told my card didn't clear but it did for $98 which was more than 1/3 the price since we were splitting it 3 ways. Then they tried and ran my card two more times at two different totals. My friend ended up paying for the whole bill altogether. Which also included the $98 they already charged me. We went in to resolve this. Still don't see my refund. read more
