I give this restaurant 5 stars purely on food. The service was good on the whole, but our server could've been better. The host and sommelier (Khalil) was phenom. Greeted us with a warm welcome and periodically checked in on us. Our food runner was also very kind and engaging. Our server was just "meh." Several times I had to give him "the eye" to come check on us. Eventually, he got with the program. But it shouldn't take patrons making prolonged eye contact for you to refill water. The food here is amazing!! We ordered the octopus, scallops (3xs), the broccoli, cassarece, and pepperoni pizza. For dessert we had the ice cream. Honeeeyyyy! Everything was top tier. The octopus is perfectly prepared. Some places cook it right and it turns out chewy. Not here. Buenisimo! We also loved the scallops! Seasoned with what seemed like basic salt and pepper and cooked in butter. But they're so we'll done! Only three to an order so we ordered 3xs. The broccoli is chargrilled and served on a bed of tahini. The cassarece was also phenom. The noodles are al dente. And they do a great job of incorporating in season produce, which happens to be a certain kind of (meaty) mushroom. The pepperoni pizza is a little spicy, but light and filling. I thought the server was kidding about the ice cream being the best dessert. But hello! It's soo good. It gives gelato, and is topped with this peanut butter, coffee crunch. Omg! Divine! Be sure and save room for the dessert. No one is wearing a mask here. But that's pretty much all of Seattle. Was really excited to try this place bc it had a lot of raving reviews but I had a very mediocre experience. I had a reservation for 5pm on a Saturday and wanted to take my parents who were visiting from out of country. We were seated right away but no one came by for about 30 mins but tables who were seated after us were getting served appetizers. We complained to the staff and they finally took our order and took another 20 mins for all the food to come out. Service here was not great, staff didn't seem to care much, and the food was not the best either. We ordered burrata to start and got lobster pizza, lumache and paccheri. Didn't see any lobster on the pizza but had a lot of mushrooms and wasn't bad but wouldn't have paid the extra $ for "lobster". A great spot for a treat-yourself kind of night in Ballard! They have an outdoor dining setup for COVID with heat lamps, although please be wary of the wait for it. We were told ~35 minutes but it ended up being a bit closer to ~1 hour so just make a reservation instead. The wait aside, the food and staff were so nice! Our waiter was really nice and was able to get our orders and drinks super quickly. There are great vegetarian options too! I got the ricotta and mushroom pizza to share -- the ricotta came with this amazing bread and pickled vegetables. The taste from the pickled veggies with the creamy cheese was so food. The mushroom pizza was super unique and had thin slices of Yukon potatoes on top too! Visited here three times so far and have loved it every time! Their lamb burger is THE BEST I have ever had, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes lamb. Okay, hear me out. I know stoneburner is really popular for their pizzas but their other dishes are OH SO AMAZING. I think this was one of my last dine-in outdoor experiences in 2021 and glad it was. Started with some Dutch fries which are perfectly crisp with tender steamy potatoey goodness inside - comes with togarashi aioli. Yum. Moving on to the calamari and grilled octopus - they were perfection even if the calamari dish wasn't the typical bartered and deep fried. It still was so delish! Pasta dish (I can't recall now which it was) with meaty ragu sauce was amazing and I'm really looking forward to trying out more of their pasta dishes soon. Overall, with their drinks pairing nicely with their dinner spread and nice service, I will be back again and trying out more from their non pizza menu. Blown away! The atmosphere was a little more dressy than I thought! It's a rustic, romantic atmosphere! Me and my friend were trying someone new! Also didn't know it was in a hotel! All facts! I was catching up with 2 old coworkers (all vaccinated!) before moving cross country, and we were trying to find a place to eat. My coworker got us on the list for outdoor seating, and we waited 30-40 minutes before they texted us to let us know a table was avaliable. They didn't have any issue with social distancing but more so with the staff and being able to keep up. They brought out a bottle of water for us immediately, which was much appreciated. They were even kind enough to bring out a little bowl of water for our pup! They were very busy and took a while to come over to us. But it was super understandable. The sunny weather and good company kept us occupied and in a really good mood. I got the porchetta, my husband got the Turkish eggs, and our table got the beet salad and pepperoni pizza to share as an appetizer. The food took a while to get to us, more then 30 minutes. The pepperoni pizza was delicious, the pepperoni was of good quality. The beet salad was refreshing and tasty. Our entrees came out later and staggered. The wait was worth it. My porchetta was well cooked, although I wish they had brought me out a sharper knife so I didn't have to use a butter knife to cut into it. It had a green (chimmichuri?) sauce on top that was a great complement to the saltier meat. The potatoes were seasoned very well, and I couldn't stop eating it. We are in the area for the weekend and I was craving pizza from Stoneburner so it was a no-brainer to make a reservation. I know there are many other pizza joints in the area but we had been here previously for a date night and really enjoyed the food.. thus the craving had to be satisfied! We checked in around 4:50pm on a Friday and there was plenty of seating at this time but by the time we left (around 6pm), it was decently occupied. The service here is excellent - friendly staff, super accommodating, and provided another very positive experience which added to our night. We ordered burrata and a spicy sausage pizza and although I wanted one additional small (one of the veggies) plate but it would have been way too much food at that point. The burrata was creamy and paired well with the onion marmellata atop the warm chewy flatbread. Their pizzas have the perfect amount of char and chew on the crust and crisp ones to support the bottom. They actually ended up giving us a free pizza as another table's was accidentally served to us before ours with no questions asked. The prime rib is excellent as well as the tuna and salads. There was a full-service bar and the wine was excellent. If your looking for a nice venue for a large party this is an ideal place. The service is excellent. Once, we ordered the pizza where two of the slices from a 6 slice pizza were missing due to an issue with it being removed from the oven. What a great place! Tried the pizza and a pasta dish, which were both delicious. Tiramisu for dessert was also great. We went for dinner on Friday, and it was packed (which is always a good sign). Because of the lack of seating, they sat us at the chef's table, which was neat, because we could watch them cook and the line run. Just a note: the seats at the chefs table were pretty uncomfortable (just a small wooden bar stool with no back). It's a bit noisy, and I sat in front of a partition close to the front door. Pro-tip ask for a different seat! The wind can be chilly. We enjoyed cocktails, an appetizer, and two entrees. Cocktail review: classic cocktail riffs--the Melrose and the Clipper. If you want something with smoke I'd say the Melrose is up your alley. If a boozy drink with a citrus twist is your preferred imbibe the rye based Clipper is what you want. The dining experience was adequate. The plates weren't coursed, which threw me for a loop, considering the pricing and clientele, but the server was super accommodating! He had great recommendations and we enjoyed the service. We shared the Tempura Fry! It was so delicious we inhaled it before a picture. If you like horseradish, it's great! If you like spicy horseradish--bring your own! Seriously, the tempura fried shrimp is tasty and the creme underneath is delicious and not overpowering. We also shared some of the Fennel Sausage Pizza. It came out pretty quickly, and the flavor was on par with other similar style pizzas. Nothing special, except for the crust. The most unique dish that we loved was the Brick Pressed Chicken! So juicy and the skordalia was very authentic. I know chicken isn't an elegant date night entree, but it's seriously worth it! Upscale presentation and flavor--much better than the pizza. I'd encourage you to order this dish (and I'm always hesitant to order chicken at a restaurant). We decided to end the night with Brown Butter Cake and wow! Indulge y'all.
