Great food, amazing atmosphere! Came here on a rainy Friday afternoon in search of some comfort food and wow we definitely found it. They say their pasta sauce is homemade, and you can tell! Their pesto is absolutely my favorite, tastes almost like my mom's homemade pesto! Also tried their macaroni and cheese, just as amazing. And if you're a ranch dressing enthusiast, they have the good ranch here! Perfect to dip breadsticks and sandwiches in. The staff are slightly distant, but I mean in this type of restaurant I'm here for the food and to spend time with my boyfriend, so no worries there. So, I always come to STONEFIRE grill and it usually always exceeds my expectations. However this time I had a rather unpleasant experience. After I waited in the long line with some customers with dogs who were complaining that they were told that they were allowed to bring them, I went to order my food at the cashier. I ordered the Petite chicken breast and the tri tip, which I thought I made very clear. The cashier told me about joining the rewards program which I thought was a great idea so I accepted it. He then told me about how I will save money and then he gave me the total which was lower than I thought it would be so I thought I was getting a discount with the rewards. But this wasn't the case. After I got to my table I looked at my receipt and saw that he only charged me for a petite tri tip. I then told one of our servers the situation and she then told me I would only be charged the difference which should only be about a $3 difference. She charged me without telling me the total and gave me my card and number to wait for my order. After everyone's food had arrived and we had ate all of our food I still haven't gotten my chicken. It had been about 30 minutes. Meanwhile some of the servers were trying to hurry us out and get our table cleared by taking all our trays and trying to take my number waiting for my chicken. I then looked at the receipt and they had charged me $10 for a half chicken which was not what I asked for. I told one of the servers and they came back after another twenty minutes with what I didn't order and a to go bag since everyone was full and ready to leave. This wasn't the usual experience I get at Stonefire grill and I hope this never happens again. read more

Not good. We eat here once a week, at least a $150 take out order. Today it was awful. Watery Caesar dressing, bad carrot cake and bad cheesecake. Everything used to be so consistent. This review is for the stonefire on Winnetka. Management at this location really needs to step it up. Went in there last night. Total confusion. They brought out our order one dish at a time. They brought out my girlfriend's entree, 5 min. Later her salad, 15 min later my sandwich, 5 min later my side. Both entrees were cold and tasted terrible. The restaurant was a mess. Staff milling about doing nothing. I've been to stonefire on Fallbrook a couple times and was very pleased but this one sucks. read more

One thing I come here for: The chopped BBQ salad. One of the best I've ever found, with a ranch dressing that should inspire copy cats. Their other dishes, obviously like the tri-tip and chicken that are in the salad, have to be good because they are so good in the salad, but I wouldn't get past 2 stars for 90% of the menu. More like a 3.5. I like the idea of this place.. order when you come in, serve your own drink, HUGE portions for low prices. However, the food really is not that great. The salads are always overdressed and everything is super greasy. Theres a few things on the menu that I would come back for (like the bread, mmmm) and a couple of the salads as well as pizzas are good. But i've tried some of their meat dishes and was not impressed. It's a good family/group place to just sit around and take your time but I wouldn't come just for the food. read more

Stonefire is the place for baby back ribs and Tri-Tip. If you want these items, forget Wood Ranch and Claim Jumper. Stonefire blows them away. Greater quality and taste and amazing consistency. The bread sticks and mashed potatoes are awesome too. read more

This Stonefire deserves a Yelp review for a couple of reasons - 1. whenever I'm in town to visit the family (I live in Orange County) this is always our default place to go and the service is consistent and 2. mom's favorite restaurant, so I had to. The staff at this particular Stonefire Grill are awesome. We had several staff members ask us how our food was and cleaned up our dishes when empty. It was helpful enough but not so constant that it was annoying. The food portions are perfect for family style dining. We usually have a group of 5 every time I go there and the salad, bread stick, and chicken combo portions are enough to have everyone leave with food coma. The mashed potatoes had cloves of roasted garlic mixed in it... for garlic lovers - a must have. The South of the Border salad with tri-tip is also a must have for salad and meat lovers. As a pescetarian, this is completely not a first choice of mine but sans the the tri-tip still a definite get. Whether it be a party of 6 or 1, bread sticks MUST be part of your meal. read more

I like this place. Not to expensive. This is what I order everytime: Miso Salmon combo w/ a caesar salad. Bread sticks are tasty. If you don't like garlic then don't come here. Occasionally, I get the half a chicken & tri-tip combo and that is also very good. I would definitely recommend this place for the food I ordered above. read more

This place has some good food. You order when you get in and they give you a number sign that you place on your table. You pick up your utensils, seat yourself and wait for the food. They have an outdoor sitting area. They currently have a "Stimulus Package" deal for about $25 you get a meat, pizza, garlic bread and salad. It's super yummy and a good deal. It may just be for take out orders. read more

Lemon garlic chicken, with an extra side of lemon garlic butter. Holy moly it's insanely good. I get the chicken and BBQ tri tip combo, with a cart wheel salad and breadsticks. When I'm hankering for a bomb dinner I go straight here. Expect for two people to pay about 35 bucks, but the portions are huge. I also like their style of dining. No having to wait for refills and everyones your server. read more

Love this place, I don't think they have anything on the menu that we don't care for. The lemon garlic chicken and salmon are excellent. Great salads. Love this place! Always have for over 3 years now. I go for the usual, tritip salad and glazed salmon. Always on point. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. We usually share all the items and still have food left over. The wait staff is very young but always positive and willing to get you anything you need. The place is not a full service restaurant so we still leave them a tip regardless. read more

At the restaurant with my family and at 6pm On a Saturday night, and they run out of chicken for the evening. Unheard of! Very disappointing from a franchise like Stonefire. Everyone eats chicken, that is a main item on their menu! The only chicken in the restaurant is in the soup! Shocked, and disappointed. This is my first time at Stone fire grill, I ordered my food and when my food was finally ready Two different employees walked past me with my food. Many boyfriend had to track down the employee that had my food and tell them It was mine. Then the employee dropped it. I had to wait another 20-30 minutes for another order of my food... the least hey coulda done was say sorry for the wait or refund my order. But neither was done. This location is a complete disaster. We came in today, Saturday, around 2:00pm. We placed our order but there were no tables available. We were standing to the side waiting and waiting, confused. We had two other parties with us. Total of 5. They wouldn't let the other people in our party place an order because there were "no tables". But they were with us, just separate orders... completely unorganized and slow turn around for tables. I understand it can be busy, but the turn around and disorganization really showed. Food took longer than normal to get to our table. Do yourself a favor and place a take out order if you're craving their garlic goodness. read more

So today I came here with my family, my fiancé and 2 month old daughter. I got an iced tea and my fiancé got a Dr. Pepper, I took one sip of my tea and there was a large piece of a FINGERNAIL in my mouth! How DISGUSTING, I am a breastfeeding mom and I just drank out of a contaminated iced tea! I feel sick to my stomach, my fiancé confronted the manager and she tried to say that it wasn't a finger nail. Why in the world would I come up with a story like that? She gave us a refund and said they were going to dump out the iced tea because she said someone must have put something in there. She made no effort to apologize, so we had to leave hungry and disgusted! So disappointed because I used to love this place! read more

While in the area on business, I stopped by the Stonefire Grill for my 1st visit. I'm from the IE and have heard about there good food and decided to try it out. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by a friendly cashier. Being my 1st time, I asked for some help. She recommended the tri-tip & chicken breast combo. When my order arrived it was delicious. While enjoying my lunch, one of the managers (Danny) came by and we had a very nice conversation. Moments later the regional manager (Lisa I believe) came by and we had another splendid conversation. The tri tip and chicken were very good but the breadsticks were a huge letdown! Everyone raves about them on here and hypes them up but they are nothing special. They were very small and have 200 calories per stick. I'd rather eat half a pint of ice cream and get 300 calories. If I were to return I would never get the breadsticks again. The pictures on here make them look huge and delicious. I had to ask my server if they were the same as in the picture and was very disappointed when he said yes. read more

I tried pasto pasta 4 times at this place and everytime it seems to be made different way. Only once i remember i liked it but all other times I had to throw away. I would recommend pasto pasta at Sisily's...plz do not waste ur money at this cheap restaurant with low quality food n service. read more

I am a big foodie. I love food and I am not a picky eater but I know the difference between good food and crap, and let me tell you, Stonefire is amazing. Honestly everything I have had here is great. Pizza, salads, tri tip, ribs, chicken, pasta, sides, sandwiches, bread sticks and they even have the best ranch dressing for salads and dipping. Their bbq sauce is delicious. I dont think you can go wrong with anything here. I have had a lot of bbq and sandwiches and salads and this place is really really good. I have even had them cater a party for me and its basically around $10 per person for a ton of delicious food. read more

I really love this place I have for years which is why it pains me to give them a 2 but the last few times I have gone with my bf our tri tip has been anything but medium cooked it was charred so badly some parts were hard to eat and we always order the pepper garlic tri tip but it has been flavorless the last few times this last week when we went my tri tip had no seasoning and none of the special Gorgonzola spread on top my bf had to flag someone down to have him bring us some which was weird cause my bf ordered the same thing and his had the spread so don't know what happened there I just hope they get there cooks back up to par so they can cook the meat and season it correctly! read more

The food was okay-cold by the time it reached the table- but the environment is horrible. The environment itself convince me to never come here again. It honestly reminds me of a high school cafeteria. Apart from that the hectic mess and children running around made me feel like I was in a Chucky Cheese. And if it looks like a restaurant, advertises as a restaurant then it should be a full service restaurant, complete with assigned waiters and ordering at the table! read more

Ribs were good. Chicken was pretty bad. Tasted like frozen chicken that had been put on the grill last minute. Breadsticks were overrated. Overall not a bad place for a quick bite. read more
