Been coming here for 4-5 years and can't believe I haven't reviewed it. Best, by far, chopped salad with BBQ chicken. I've tried their chopped Italian, cobb, chopped salad with steak, but I always come back to the BBQ chicken. I just tried their new Green salad, quinoa with pesto, and it was great for a change and a try, but I'll be back for the BBQ chopped salad! I always get a salad with a side of chicken breasts in lemon garlic or the combo of lemon garlic chicken breast and lemon pepper trip-tip is my go-to order to eat in or take out. Pizza is good too but not remarkable. The house red or white wine is great with the BBQ chopped salad and chicken/tri-tip combo. Always busy but there is always a booth somewhere. The eat-in is different in that you seat yourself and get your own napkins, plates, and flatware service, and your food order is brought to your table. Highly recommend for fast great salads and excellent chicken or tri-tip steak sides. read more

We ordered pick up in the restaurant. The service was not attentive and we waited 45 minutes. The food was good but we had some issues. The meat was packaged poorly and spilled all of the juices and oils onto the other items in the bag. The order was a half order of chicken and tri tip. The following review is the 2nd time this has happened... and the last as we will not be ordering from here anymore. Tonight we placed our order online for ASAP which said pickup would be about an hour later. My husband goes to curbside to pickup the food right on time and calls... he waits and waits on the phone for 5 minutes and no one answers. He eventually goes inside and gives the name and they say they'll bring it out in a few minutes. He finally got the food 20 minutes after pickup time and after he chased down the girl again outside helping other people (her mask was below her nose which in COVID world is a big no-no). The food containers were thrown all over the bags and were cold when he got home 5 minutes later. Received one small container of BBQ sauce with an $85 order. Breadsticks had no seasoning and were a big letdown as they are usually our favorite part of the meal. read more

Mother's Day dinner ruined for everyone! I initially placed a dinner order for my inlaws (through DoorDash) yesterday afternoon (very early at 1pm) for my brother-in-law to pick up at 5:30pm. I even checked multiple times since the order had been placed to make sure it's still on track for 5:30pm pick-up. Then, when my brother-in-law went to go pick it up, it turns out the order got cancelled without sending me any kind of notifications!! I was appalled!! This was supposed to be a gift for my inlaws so that they don't have to worry about cooking and clean-up on Mother's Day and partly for my brother-in-law's bday. Then, we ended up having to replicate the order over the phone with someone from the restaurant and my husband even confirmed the order with the woman. They said it will be ready by 6:45pm. Not ideal since it was initially supposed to be for 5:30pm, but no other choice, so we said okay and my brother-in-law drove back home and went back later to pick up. He comes back later and still no dinner by 7pm and they can't find the order. I was livid and luckily they eventually found it and my inlaws got their food by 7:30pm (which again was initially supposed to be for 5:30pm!!). Well, it turns out the restaurant messed up the order AGAIN and ended up including single serving size tri tip/ribs vs the family meal (for 4!) that we ordered. So my mother-in-law and father-in-law ended up sharing one small single serving size meal while my brother-in-law was left with all the side dishes (luckily they didn't mess that up). It was SO embarrassing and extremely stressful for everyone!! I'm still stressed thinking about this!! read more

I can order meat without bbq sauce here and that is always a win in my book. I had a half slab of ribs, with a grilled chicken breast and a side cesar salad. Everything came out great, the ribs were tender and the chicken was extremely juicy. Typical cesar salad loaded with a garlicky sauce. I enjoyed this meal,I really wish I could of had the breadsteaks because everyone always talks about how amazing they are. I have been ordering to go from this restaurant for about 12 years now. I usually just order online and then drive down and pick it up. This place seems to go in waves. They will have great food and service for a while, then it will go down hill for a while. In recent months, it has been terrible. Almost every order I have picked up in the last few months has been wrong. I substitute avocado instead of meat in my bbq salad, and they seem to put an "add" portion instead. I usually request black olives added to my salad, and one time they dumped a cup of pepperoncini instead. Had to throw the salad away. I ask for plain bread sticks, and 75% of the time I get the ones with cheese and parsley on them. This may be a normal thing now, but the carrot cake piece is half the size now for a higher price. I check my order before I leave every time now, and have to have the manager correct it. Which he graciously does. Normally at dinner time this place would be so packed, you could barley walk around. It is usually almost empty now. I am not sure if it is the service, or the high inflation economy we have now. Today, on our way home, my BF & I placed our order through the app & picked it up curbside, but when we got home, we realized one of our salads was incorrect, so I called and spoke with the Manager, Robbie, who was extremely understanding & apologetic and immediately refunded my credit card for the salad we did not order and, in addition, said he will be mailing me a $20 gift card for the inconvenience. My last review was almost 3 years ago and decided to give an Updated Review. The last time I reviewed this Stonefire, it was about one of the employees being disrespectful to me after asking for some BBQ Sauce. Anyways, I decided to write about my most recent experience with Stonefire. This time, I ordered the family size BBQ salad again (still my favorite salad of all time) and did a phone order. The good news was I could hear the other person on the line nice and clear with not so much background noise. Nice. After calling in, I headed to Stonefire to pick up my order. When I arrived, it was completely different. The staff was extremely nice, gave me plenty of BBQ and Ranch sauce for the salad and everything was A-OK. To wrap up this "Stonefire Journey", the salad was great as always. Nothing was bad, very satisfied. This strictly goes out to the manager on duty tonight, Joel. And for the uncooked chicken, (I guess.) I've worked in restaurant a long time ago before, so I know there can be mistakes made ever so often, but a managers behavior should never be so rude, especially when at fault. Thanks, but no thanks. This is my second review for Stonefire in less than 5 mins. People usually always want the good news first, so here's the bad news. I'm still a lover of stonefire, but not so much management for this location at this point. My sister ordered take out around 3:30pm today- it was a family meal 1/2 tri tip, 1/2 chicken, with salad, and bread (something of that sort). No one ate the chicken except for me. Clearly, (without watching what I ate), I cut open and consumed a couple pieces of it while watching a movie, to realize that the chicken was bloody, and under cooked. Right away, I called Stonefire and was directed to the manager named Joel. I don't know how you can hire someone so reluctant to help a returning customer because of their own faults. I explained to him what had happened and how I had ate uncooked chicken, and he didn't really seem alert on how serious the matter was. People can really get sick, or even worse, get salmonella. That's a law suit, if I really wanted. He then proceeded to ask me what the name under the order was, what time it was made, what the receipt number was, when it was picked up, and what the order was. Unsure of everything in exact, I had told him it was under Kathy, and it was made around 5pm I suppose, we weren't given a receipt, and repeated the order to him. He then proceeded to negatively say that's not much to go off of, and he'll try to scroll through and look for the receipt- then put me on hold. He came back and asked is there anything else you can tell me? And I repeated no. Meanwhile, I was still texting my sister, asking for the exact details of the order. She replied back saying she placed the order at 3:30 and picked it up at 4pm. So I corrected myself and told him it was placed at 3:30 and picked up at 4. He then put me on hold again. Minutes later, he asked me is there anything else you can tell me about this order? And at this point, I started to get frustrated and asked how hard it could be to find this damn receipt.. How many Kathy's could there possibly be? He began to say that it's hard to find a receipt without the number because there's alot of Karens, Johns, etc that come in around 5pm. And questioned if I knew if it was a phone order or an online order. Ok, hold up- first of all, the name was Kathy not Karen. And second of all, I corrected myself saying it was placed at 3:30pm and picked up at 4, not 5. (I completely forgot to add in the part where he asks me about 3 times if it was placed over the phone or online because online ordering is completely separate)........... He clearly did not give a crap about what was going on and blatantly was not attentive to anything I was saying. Omg. I just scrolled up to find out how much nonsense I wrote in this yelp review. Regardless, I don't even want to finish what had happened. In the end, I was on the phone with this idiot for 20 minutes to establish nothing but a run-on phone call of him not listening to anything I said. Enraged, I told him I didn't have time to be put on hold, for more than half the time, while he scrolls through receipts over the computer, and told him to call me back when he finds it. Moments later, he calls back after he finally gets it through his peanut brain the correct name, time, date, address, order, gender, (wtv else he needed) and tells me he found the receipt. Thank you, Lord baby jesus. In the end, he refunded the check- which was a given- but it all just felt like he didn't care to keep a loyal customer, but instead he just wanted to refund the check, and call it a day and not deal with me ever again. I can understand that behavior in a server, but never a manager. The Quality of the food, as well as Customer satisfaction should always be key in any big food chain like this. Today, I failed to see both. What a shame. Management, I really hope you see this review because it wasted about 10 minutes of my life, and I hope you can sit down and have a talk to him about his attitude. This really could've escalated into a law suit with the right people, real quick. read more

Tonite was the first time we came here and were very pleased with our dinner. Didn't know what to expect at first, since it's a walk up and order place with your entrees brought to your table, but knew it would be a great dining experience with a start of a great glass of Penfolds Shiraz and very yummy garlic bread sticks. Kevin ordered 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and I ordered the 1/2 order of trip tip split with barbeque sauce on one half and lemon garlic butter on the other. We also had an order of grilled vegetables and there was PLENTY of food. There's enough tri-tip for sandwiches for a couple of days (love leftovers!). The service was very good and the meals were brought over promptly. If I were to have any criticism, I would have to say that it gets loud in the dining room. Granted it was dinner time on a Saturday night with plenty of families, but next time we may opt to sit outside and crank up the heaters. We go back and try the chicken next time. read more

Family of 5 (2adults & 3kids) we ordered a family pack of 1whole BBQ chicken, Cesar salad, & bread sticks. We added 1/2 Tri Tip and medium mash potato. Sounds like a lot... We were stuffed and took home a small bit of everything. If my boys were full grown it would have been perfect. The service was excellent. Food came out quick. The server was accommodating, when we realized that we wanted to add a side of mash potato, he went up front and ordered the side for us. We have dined inside pre pandemic and ordered curbside since until today. Food and service has always been good. Today was the first time we decided to try dining inside. Again the service and food was good, however we had to move our seating twice. Other party across from us had to move to another table as well, all because of annoying, disgusting flys hovering around our table and food. Not one or two but several. After moving once we tried covering our food with napkins but still had to constantly wave them away. We ended up boxing up our food to go due to loss of appetite. read more

Came over with a large group and the service was in a frantic, however the food was delicious. Lemon garlic salmon was perfect, and for the salad I had the raved chopped BBQ chicken salad. The outside atmosphere was fantastic, it is a great place to hold meetings, congregate, or just have a large gathering. Looking out you see a place covered in beauty and the dealership across the street, Bentley and Maserati dealership was a real nice view haha. All in all if I find a Stoney's back in Vegas, I'm definitely going back for that salmon, didn't need too much service since you serve your drinks yourself. 4/5. read more

I've been eating at Stonefire Grill for at least 25 years , starting in Santa Clarita and now in TO ( since moving to Simi) . I love their food but to be quite honest getting tired of the same menu as we eat out quite a bit. Today we went to Stonefire Grill in Thousand Oaks to try the new items on their menu. We were helped by Sean, who was a BIG help and has a great personality! I ordered the Strawberry Walnut salad and it's my new favorite! I'm gluten free and always looking for new things to eat. The blood orange vinaigrette is delicious with the salad! I also took home the pulled pork meal to try for dinner. The last time you offered new items they were not gluten free (like corn tortilla chips/dip etc. Not really hard to get gluten free corn tortillas or tortilla chips so that those of us who have allergies can have appetizers as well!) Best tri-tip in the area. Deliciously tender, thinly sliced. This is my go-to place for takeout to serve a crowd. The quality is consistent, and large orders can be ready very quickly and without mistakes. Love the tomesto pasta - half marinara, half pesto. Best of both worlds. Amazing carrot cake. I would like a few more options for sides, though - maybe some steamed asparagus or another vegetable? If you eat inside, it's noisy. For me, this is a good thing because I'm usually there with the family, and I know we won't disturb anyone's quiet dinner. I don't love having to go grab my own drinks, plates, knives, and BBQ sauce, but it's not a deal breaker. I'll keep coming here. read more

This is very different than the County's more famous BBQ restaurant, Wood Ranch. But different is good! They have tri-tip rare, something you can't at WR. Their garlic mashed potatoes are wonderful with huge cloves of garlic, and their bread sticks equally delicious. The pay-first option throws you a bit at first (yes, add your tip at that time!) but seating is ample and the place is clean and comfy. They also have a great meat-pizza-salad-bread sticks deal that is perfect for families. Don't miss their carrot cake dessert...the pieces feed two people easily. read more

Stonefire Grill is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. From the first taste I had of their tri-tip at a friends wedding that was catered by them, I was hooked! The tri-tip melts in your mouth and you can't go wrong with either choice of BBQ or the pepper garlic(or both!). Another thing I love is their Chicken Cobb Salad. All the pieces of the salad from the crunchy bacon to the avocado meld together to create a symphony in your mouth. They almost always have specials and my wife and I love having date night where we get a half a tri-tip, a side, a salad, and the delicious breadsticks for around $20 bucks! Can't beat a delicious date night for that price for both! We recently moved out of CA and this is the one thing I wish our new home had, but every time we go back, it's definitely a must! read more

The quality and service here are A+! I ordered a large salad yesterday and was told it would be a 25-30 minute wait. When I arrived 10 minutes later it was ready, the employees I dealt with were wonderful (as was the food ) and there were no mistakes. Unfortunately I live closer to another Stonefire and usually order there. The staff acts as if it's doing you a favor, the order is generally wrong and the wait is always 30-40 minutes. Where do I start ? Two friends and myself walked in . Saw the lunch special menu and decided to order from there . We waited about 10 minutes. My two friends ordered and the two ladies in front of us as well . It was my turn and the cashier Brittney came to the special menu flipped and told the two girls behind me that just walked the specials aren't available . I also said I don't k ow if she is having a bad day or out of her character but I am very offended and this being my first experience at this brand of restaurant it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth . Especially since I am from Ventura and they are opening one soon . He said yes it out of her character and that was the end of the conversation . However that not the end of this horrible experience . My friends get there food and then I receive mine . I pour my dressing on it and notice a few things . My salmon is cold and the size of my fork . ( picture attached ) I try to enjoy my salad and then realize my lip is tingling and starting to raise . I inspect my salad and notice some avocado on it . The salad is not supposed to have any so i inspect closer and realize there is some avocado . I go to talk to another manager because the one I spoke to about Brittney is on lunch at the table next to us . He apologizes . Then he ask If they can remake it . I actually can't eat cause my lips are swollen and am just very thankful I have not gone into anaphylactic shock due to my allergy . He ask for my receipt. I tell him that Brittney did not give me one . He refunds my lunch special and that was my experience. I don't k ow what more to say . We called in a togo Order for a family party 3 hours earlier and put a pick up time for 4:15. When we got there they informed us, Sorry we made the tri tip wrong we have to make it again. No one was waiting and they seemed over staffed with the amount of people dining in side. We had to wait 30 minutes before we got our food. We have a party that we were suppose to be at by 5:00 in Malibu that we will be late too. This is the first time we've been to your restaurant. The manager apologized but I feel as we should have been compensated for our time. It was a big order. We won't be back, very disappointed. read more

I was recently here for a rehearsal dinner to serve about 35 people. They didn't take reservations which was a negative for knowing such a giant group was coming. However, they certainly pulled it off with a great hard working staff that got everybody's orders correct. The food was definitely above average. I had the 16" mesquite bbq chicken/tri tip combo pizza and it was probably the best bbq pizza I have ever tried and loaded with plenty of meat. The breadsticks were heavily buttered and covered with parmesan cheese, good but nothing to go crazy over. A friend had the cobb salad and said it was average and could have used more dressing. I was able to sample the bbq chicken and salmon and they were good as well. Overall I would highly recommend the stonefire grill for the delicious variety of bbq and pizzas, friendly staff and good environment read more

I have seen this place a thousand times as we passed it on a regular basis. For some reason in my head I thought it was a pizza place, but it's totally not. We went around 11:45 AM on a Friday and it was pretty busy, the line was out the door. While we waited in line we looked at the menu; and as I mentioned it is absolutely not a pizza place, however since I thought it was of course I had to order the pizza Lol! This restaurant is in Westlake so of course from the outside it looks really fancy, however when you walk inside the setup is more like a Sizzler. And I mean that just in the sense of how the food ordering process goes. You look at the menu while in line, you walk up to the cash register, place your order for food and drink, pay and then seat yourself. You go over to the soda fountains to pick which soft drink you would like and behind that they have the condiments, plates, forks, etc.. There's also an outdoor seating patio so that's pretty cool if it's a hot day outside. As we waited for our food I took a look around at what other people were eating and the food looked pretty epic. Not to mention their salads are huge! I think I might get one of those next time. Our food came out super quick, it was hot and delicious! I got The Works pizza and my friend got the trip tip which looked so good with that garlic butter slathered on top. Overall I think even though we went in on a busy Friday afternoon, this was a totally good place for a tasty lunch - all within in a lunch hour too! So if you work in the area I definitely recommend you go here. Food was good, service was good, and it fits in my lunch break - so this is a lunch time score for me! read more

He attended our table in such a professional manner especially when we asked for our meat to be cooked more, and also made sure the food above expectations! They looked nothing like the menu picture. Roll was soft and mushy, tomatoes tasted like sun-dried, one 1"x1/4" bit of bacon, arugula was limp, pesto aioli odd, no discernible cheese. Generally, awful. Ate the turkey with a fork and tossed the rest. I am a long time customer and have had many other menu items which have been delicious. Don't waste your money on these sandwiches! Let me start by saying I am big fan of Stonefire. I was really disappointed with my experience there a couple of days ago. I gave myself the time to think this through. I placed an order online and when I arrived my order wasn't ready. So I waited patiently. I am not sure why there isn't a point person handling all to-go orders. The person after me had some problems with his order and made a comment and had one of the staff members in a Stonefire button up shirt tell him he didn't care. It was very troubling to hear. As this was happening I saw my order completed and placed on the shelf even though I asked a couple of times about my order so they knew I was there waiting. So as multiple employees came to help other people behind me I started to become pretty frustrated. I finally had to express my disappointment. After a 30 min wait after I arrived I was really saddened. The disorganization of the employees walking around chit chatting with the to go order getting backed up, the employees without hairnets handling food, the horrible customer service - something needs to change. Haven't been here in a while was shocked to see that they were almost totally empty at noon. I placed a to go order with the server at the register which was painstakingly long and I almost walked out. He had trouble retaining anything I said for more than 30 seconds but we ultimately got through it. I brought the order home and quickly realized why they weren't as busy as before. The tri tip was tougher than an old pair of dress shoes, the bread sticks were doughy and the balsamic dressing for the salad was was flat and had no flavor.
