Worst customer service I have ever experienced and it has not been the first time. I have eaten in the restaurant many times as well as take-out. The eat in experience is 10x better than taking out. Every time my family orders take out here we run into employees who argue and are very reluctant to give any extra dressing for a meal for 4 people that cost over $75 even when we pay extra for "extra dressing". When dining in this is never a problem as they have a large self serve bbq sauce container in the back and if you ask for ranch they always bring a bowl larger than the size of the take out ranches we were given for our salad. It is disappointing writing this review as the food is good but after repeated poor experiences here I finally came to drafting and posting this review. We have enjoyed Stonefire Grill a number of times and I guess it's par for the course that once in a while a restaurant will not met expectations with the food. The staff at the door were friendly and efficient. We found a table quickly and the wait for food was acceptable. We had the Tri-tip Rib combo, Southwestern Salad with Quinoa and the margherita pizza. The Tri-tip was cooked correctly but very dry and so were the ribs. There was little meat on the bone and tough to cut off the bone. Indicator is that the leftovers are still in the fridge days later. Usually, leftovers get devoured quickly within a day! The Southwestern Salad had an over abundance of red bell peppers which contributed to the imbalance of the flavors. Maybe they had peppers they had to use up?? The pizza was the saving grace. It was delicious. In retrospect we should have said something but we looked around at a crowded dining room and figured everyone else was enjoying themselves so ??. I think if the server would have returned to check if everything was ok we definitely would have said something...but she didn't. It will be a while before we return to Stonefire Grill. I know we won't be missed because they apparently are doing great business in T.Oaks. read more

The other day I came in with my husband for our anniversary and I over heard a conversation between the workers. One of the managers, I believe it was Siera?, was extremely rude to her employee. she also kept making sly comments under her breath and being extremely rude to my husband when he asked to have something remade. It was super unprofessional and not okay. Her attitude needs to get reevaluated and taken seriously. I hope no other customers experienced such a terrible service. read more

As a long time patron of the Woodland Hills location, I was thrilled when a Westlake Village restaurant opened. During the height of the pandemic we rarely ate out, and relied on my cooking or take out until my husband convinced me to try dining in at a low traffic time. Since I am an immunocompromised senior with two infant grandchildren, both my husband and I, though fully vaccinated, don't make these decisions lightly. We were well fed and felt safe eating inside because all of the staff was masked. Two days ago I convinced a friend to meet me there for our first lunch in 2 years. Not one mask in sight. We kept our masks on till we sat down in an empty section, and didn't remove them until our food came, but servers removing plates and checking to see if we needed anything were not masked. The service was good, the food was good, but now I am quarantining and my husband and I had to cancel babysitting plans until after a few days pass and we test. The meal - any meal- is not worth the risk and inconvenience. We are a family who enjoys eating out, but with no masks to protect any vulnerable patrons, we won't be dining there or getting take out for quite awhile. It is too bad that Stonefire has chosen to disrespect the needs of their most vulnerable diners. People eating must remove their masks- people serving, cooking, or manning the cash register could easily keep theirs on. So many rules. 4 stars for too many rules. I'm staying flexible and waiting for the final verdict. We enjoyed a Pinot Noir and a Stone IPA while collecting silverware and cups of bbq sauce. The ribs and brisket sandwich were good. The coleslaw and breadsticks were super awesome and we finished it off with a warm chocolate chip cookie followed by the best freaking carrot cake ever. I love stonefire. Been a regular guest for over a year. A few days ago I picked up curbside, drove home only to find out I'm missing all my breadsticks and one of the entrees was wrong. I called and spoke to Daniel, he was very gracious and told me to come back and he would give me a new entree, breadsticks, and a dessert. He went out of his way to make sure my order was taken care of. You ask, why the five stars? Mistakes happen, it's life. Also, the pandemic makes restaurant jobs a lot more difficult. This is the second time getting the order fouled. We ordered a shared carrot cake -- not on the receipt so not delivered and had to make the adjustment. Additionally, ordered and paid for a shared side of beans -- not delivered and had to be reported to recieve it. My daughter loves this place and we have been here many times. The service is usually friendly and the speed is decent. She enjoys the ribs and I usually go for a salad. This time I saw they had a few new salad specials and I decided to try the Asian Ahi salad. It looked nice upon presentation, but I think the ahi pieces were cut far too thick and they were coated with too much pepper which just didn't go well with the asain dressing. Our breadsticks (which are so good) were undercooked but they replaced them promptly without a fuss. Overall we will be back to this place. I had dinner here last night. I had pork ribs and tri-tip. The trytip came almost raw and I only ate two pieces. I also had Cauliflower salad and some breadsticks. I got really sick from the food. I have a lead stomach and don't usually get sick. What a mistake. Never going here again You responded to my original review thank you. But I've been sick for two days now from whatever bacteria I got from your food. Major stomach cramps and using the toilet every 15 minutes. I'm majorly sick. When you are craving a salad this is the place. I ordered a tri tip and it came filled with good things. Crisp lettuce cut up tomatoes corn lots of meat scallions cheese carrots black beans. Horrid service. I came here dressed for a nice night out, and sat outside thinking "Stonefire Grill" would have some heaters or SOMETHING. I saw the stone but no fire. I was informed the heater was broken. How convenient we sat at the only table with a broken heater. They didn't even bother to come back and follow up, or maybe try and fix the problem. Steakhouse pricing, cafeteria hall flavor. I couldn't be more disappointed in this restaurant. The prices are extremely high which would suggest steakhouse quality food; but it's not. The ribs and tri tip had no flavor at all and both well over cooked. The DoorDash making a mess of the delivery didn't help things either. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Total let down! We placed our order with a friendly young man and then it was downhill from there. I ordered cauliflower and a chicken breast. Hubby ordered a Cobb salad with chicken and a side of tri-tip. We went outside to find a table. There were about ten empty tables, all with dirty dishes on them. I had to go back to the front to ask someone to clean a table for us. My chicken and cauliflower came out about 10 minutes after we ordered, which was okay. Since it was hot food hubby said go ahead and start. I tried to eat slowly and on a few occasions wanted to go check on his salad but he didn't want "them to do anything to it." I finished eating and we were about to go tell them to cancel his order when the server brought the salad. The chicken was in the side and the side of tritip was on the salad. Complete fail! It's Sunday evening. We wanted something quick before starting the week. This was the longest quick meal and so disappointing that we had to watch each other eat. Overall 5 out of 5. Review based on several Dine-In and Take-Out experiences. Pros: The garlic bread sticks are amazing with everything you can order. The tri-tip has always been cooked to our preference and both the bbq and gorgonzola-butter styles are amazing! I LOVE their lemon chicken breast, especially with their mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. My husband does not care for most Cole Slaw but he likes Stonefire's. Their salads are super tasty and the lettuce and toppings are always fresh and crunchy. I'm not one for baked beans but my mum likes them over the style at wood ranch. We rarely try the desserts as we fill up on all the delicious foods but when we do order sweets, we always get their carrot cake. The staff is always polite and professional. Ordering take out is a breeze and so is picking up your order - I've never had to wait more than 3-5 minutes when I schedule a pick up time. The restaurant is always clean and the same goes for the rest rooms. The Thousand Oaks location is very handicap accessible whether someone in your party uses a walker/cane or a wheelchair. Parking (in a standard or accessible stall) is fairly easy. They do have a few spots specifically for pick up orders. Cons: The one item we don't like is their tortilla soup. We did not care for the taste or texture. It was not bad, just not our preference. Again, we love Stonefire Grill! We are super excited for the opening of the Ventura location later this year (2018). We will certainly continue to visit both Ventura County locations. read more

The salads are good, love the breadsticks... but wish they would look at the meat before it's packed in takeout boxes, sometimes it's good, other times there's a lot of 'white' - muscle, fat, not sure of the exact terminology to use. Still our place to go for family dinners. Everyone can get something different and love it. From salads to Tri Tip, Lemon Garlic Chicken, and pasta for the kids. Complete every dinner with bread sticks, side Caesar salads, garlic mashed potatoes and everyone is taking food home for the next day. Try to save room for fabulous carrot cake but I've only managed to do that once. Difficult to pace yourself with such wonderful food, attentive and caring staff and decent selections of beverages or wine. My experience: meh. Food: sub par. Service: it also could be better. Let's start with the first one: their menu is limited, not having such a great selection. The only thing that's worth getting is their salmon and shrimp, because the other meats are not good quality; the chicken is dry and the beef and pork string up. Even the shrimp and salmon can be overwhelmingly strong with lemon (if you get garlic salmon) and that can be kind of powerful. Their salads have little variety instead of the classic greens and ranch. Plus when I got the roasted veggies, the veggies were child and the tomatoes were raw in the inside. We asked them to warm them up, and even though it was warmer, the tomatoes were still not cooked. Overall not the best. read more

I thought this place was pretty good. Their prices were fair and their food was good. I was able to get their baked penne with meat sauce and 2 breadsticks. The pasta was just a little underdone but I didn't mind that much. I love the breadsticks there. My friend brought some home previously so that's why I tried the restaurant out for myself. I was pleased with the food. My boyfriend also got backed BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, and 2 breadsticks. We both payed around $12 for each of ours and had left overs the next day. So quantity wise, it's a good choice too. Their servers were really nice. I've never been there before so their ordering style was different. You go there, look at the menu, order from the front essentially, and then take a seat anywhere you want. I was expecting the resultant style of "table for 2" but it ended up being an order and sit down place. It kind of sucks if you go with people and want to order and pay separately. You can do that, but the food comes out whenever it's ready. So my boyfriend got his food maybe 5-7 minutes earlier than mine so he felt obligated to wait. Another thing is that the potion size was kind of confusing. I originally wanted the small order of the pasta, but the server nicely corrected me and told me that it serves 3 people so then I got the petit order and it was more than enough. But I saw petit first and I thought it was a kids menu size you know? Parking was great since it's in a complex. Last thing, the utensils and napkins and everything is in the back like a get it yourself deal. I was confused when the food came out and I didn't have a fork. We were running a little late, called when we arrived, and much to our dismay, they did not have an order in our name. Sean, was the name of the young man that my husband talked to about this issue. Sean was not only friendly but listened, was extremely efficient and gave priority to taking care of us. We had our entire order prepared and ready to go in what seemed like no time at all. I visit this StoneFire Grill location often as it is located in my office parking lot. The food is always great and the place is comfortable. On a couple recent visits I needed some help and both times their employee Sean was helpful and also checked back to make sure everything was fine and taken care of. You don't often see a young employees who care about a customers experience but Sean is an exception to the rule. It's one of those examples when you want to leave an extra tip and tell them you appreciate their efforts. read more
