I hate to be picky Buuut when something bothers me I have to unload... Stonefire has been one of our Go To Family Favorites for a number of years and I've reviewed them a few times. At first to say we loved the place...an more recently because they were serving burnt, dry ribs that appeared to have been sitting in the heating trays much too long. The managers have answered HERE very nicely saying that they were sorry, etc. Well yesterday around 4:30 we picked up takeout from Stonefire...my wife warned NOT to order the Ribs/Combo but I did anyway....this time it was something new with the ribs. .....there was a partial rack of around 4 or 5 ribs...which was very small so to fill it out WHOEVER put the plate together decided instead of adding the missing ribs they put two pieces of hard mystery meat next to them...No rib bones but hard & dried up it almost tasted like chicken but I think it was pork. Now what I want to know did this person really think that it was OK to add something inedible there..which I would try to eat then spit out and forget it? Couldn't they just add the missing ribs from another rack??? I'm thinking our Families been there much too often & maybe need a change! read more

Since I love fast food that's done well, this restaurant really does that quite well. Although crowded at times and limited parking due to surrounding businesses, the food is quite good and resonably priced. The tri tip isn't half bad for California BBQ, and the salads aren't just tasty but come in 4 sizes which is a great idea (as we all know Americans more and more love choices)...the restaurant is always clean and the staff is helpful with menu item selection and table maintence, all in all is the best fast style casual sit down I've had in a while. read more

Always enjoy coming here. Sometimes if it's crowded the line to order takes some time but the food is worth it. It's always brought to the table pretty quickly and have never been disappointed by the taste. Serve yourself drinks and pick up your own silverware and then a server brings the food. It all works pretty well. The tri tip is always amazing and I highly recommend the whole roasted cauliflower with Tahini sauce. Spinach salad is a favorite and any of the pizzas are delicious!!! I went in here and the friendly waiter took my family's order. My family sat down at our table and our waitress brought over the salads we had ordered. 10 minutes passed. The waitress brought over the meat we ordered. My dad said the cooks had forgotten to give us breadsticks. The waitress apologized and promised to bring over the breadsticks as soon as they were ready. They arrived a little while later and were very tasty. I've been to Stonefire a few times now and I really enjoy it. I highly recommend the tri-tip, salmon, and Caesar salad. The breadsticks are garlicky, buttery and delicious, so make sure you try some. My mom ordered the pesto pizza and although it was tasty, it was extremely greasy. I think it's because of the pesto sauce on it. Otherwise, no other complaints! read more

Wow, the food here is so good! I was really surprised by the price as well. We ordered the Trip tip meal for two and it was fantastic. It was a really good price to. I like to think of this place as the upscale fast food of tri tip dinners. Its fast because you order from a counter and they bring it to your table, but its also very classy and high quality food. Really big crowds waiting to order, to get seated, etc. At first it seems kinda hectic w/everything that's going on, but when the food came it made things better. Went herwhie because I had a gift card. It's a bit too noisy for my husband and I. I ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, my husband had lemon/garlic chicken. I liked the ribs; very tender. My side of garlic mashed potatoes were not very warm and VERY lumpy. My husband was a little disconcerted when his lemon chicken arrived already cut up; a bit different then what he was used to. He was quite underwhelmed with the taste and quality of the chicken. He got a caesar salad which he liked. I enjoyed the bread sticks. The customer service phone line is very friendly and answer your questions with detailed information. When I went to pick up my order it was ready. They gave a little more garlic mash potatoes. Today I thought we got lucky for lunch when we found the website for the Stone Fire Grill in Thousand Oaks. The pictures look amazing! I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and a chopped salad. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT AND RIP-OFF THIS TURNED OUT TO BE!! The chicken pesto sandwich is huge because it is ALL bread, a mexican "torta" style that disintegrates in your hands, and the sandwich turned out to be an absolute total fraud. A chicken sandwich that is 95% bread with tiny morsels of chicken. Take the sandwich apart you will find that there at best three tiny pieces instead of what they show on their website Unbelievable!!!! Are these people on drugs thinking that they can perpetrate this fraud on customers?? Then I tasted their chopped salad, it has a nice presentation, and it had chicken, but how is it possible that a "grill" delivers tasteless chicken with the flavor of mush that seems to be boiled rather than grilled? The dressing that came with the salad was also tasteless and I ended up dumping everything I bought in the garbage because this is NOT GOOD FOOD!! This use to be a favorite lunch place for myself and coworkers. However, it's been over a year since we've eaten here and I can say that the quality of the food has changed drastically. 9 of us were in the party and some who ordered the tri-tip noticed it was rubbery. I had the cartwheel salad with garlic chicken breast and that was even mediocre. I am sad to say that I probably will not return. I have eaten here many times since they opened. Their food is good - but on the expensive side for what you get and the fact that you basically serve yourself. The food is brought to you - but you have to get your own place settings etc. The above being said - the restaurant is run horribly from the customers view. Lots of kids working - running around - obviously trying to do their job - but management forgot to tell them the customers come first. It is so hard to eye contact with anyone as they run past you - everyone seems to have tunnel vision and look just ahead of them. This place is top notch and they definitely have their act together here. They have great lunch specials and everyone working here is super nice. They usually charge a little extra for breadsticks but sometimes they will throw a complimentary breakstick or two your way if you ask. I love Stonefire! I used to come once or twice a week. But it is NOT the same. Every Time I order something from take out my meat come out over cooked. They forget my mashed potatoes. Put cheese on the salad that I asked for no cheese. Forgot my ranch that I said on the phone and again when I got into the restaurant. And when I got my over cooked meat home, it was ice cold... I live less than 5 mins from Stonefire. I don't know why the quality went down significantly but even when I called to let them know they screwed up, I got attitude from the girl on the phone. Stonefire is easily one of my favorite places to eat...... ever. The breadsticks are fantastic! The pesto pasta is to die for. The barbecue sauce is awesome too. We were so grateful to Thrifted Sister for referring us to Stonefire Grill. After balking at the cost of other caterers, we were relived to find Stonefire Grill. The price was extremely reasonable. And the food was DELICIOUS! They served BBQ chicken and tri-tip, along with several side dishes, including mac-and-cheese, mashed potatoes, coleslaw and salad. Our guests raved about the food! I went here for the first time on Saturday with my grandma since she says that she has good memories of the one in the valley- we were both not impressed with the Westlake location. You order at the cashier and then you go pick up your utensils and fill up your own drink and find an open booth to sit in. A little like an upscale McDonald's. First off, it was a little disorganized ordering. The staff didn't know how to get people to form lines, so there was really a cloud of people hovering by the cashiers so they could order, with no clear signs on which was for pick up or carry out. Also, one of the employees delivered the wrong food to our table and then proceeded to drop it on the floor when we informed him it wasn't our order. Everything here is pretty large- I got the Mexican chicken soup and the pesto chicken sandwich. The soup was a small, but it was a full bowl size. The sandwich had allot of arugula on it and not so much chicken. It was pretty greasy too. My grandma got the french dip and the meat looked gray.. she said the meat was tough. I saw families ordering the larger salads to share and they didn't look too bad. Overall, I wouldn't come back to this one. read more

I recently started coming here. I was looking for something rather quick but still healthy. This place definitely fits that criteria. They have chicken and salmon entrees that are both delicious! They also have a bunch of healthy sides to choose from. My husband always gets the pizza and thinks it's pretty darn good. I like that they have family portions to feed the whole fam. Sent It back and it had onions picked at it but in my 1 hour lunch break was unable to send it back again! quite disappointing sending something back and still having it be wrong... I saw this one guy running all over the place making sure stuff was taken care of. I asked this kid lowkey what his name was so I could mention him in this review lol. We had the pleasure of having Stonefire Thousand Oaks cater our 200 person wedding and it was fantastic! Stonefire was well within our budget, the food was phenomenal and the menu options were great. The awesome menu provided great options for all guests including those that preferred red meat, chicken, or vegetarian dishes, as well as all the children that attended! My husband and I were thrilled to find out we could add additional sides at a minimal cost. In addition, the catering office will work with you to help order appropriate amounts of specialty menu options (e.g. quinoa), if desired. Melanie at the catering office was amazing and the Managers at the Thousand Oaks location made the decision to go with Stonefire easy. I will say we did hit a couple bumps when it came to revising the order and paying a couple days before the event, so I would definitely recommend working directly with the catering office to make any menu or count revisions opposed to going in person to the Stonefire site fulfilling the order. Don't write reviews, but had great experience today! I come everyday on my break at the same time, helped by same staff, order same food. But today was different. Was helped by an employee I'd never seen before named Claire. She was so sweet and helpful. When I asked why I'd never seen her before, she said she's actually from Ventura and was just helping out here. I think this Thousand Oaks location should try to keep her because she's obviously a hard worker. I also appreciated the manager (I believe her name was Lori) checking up on me while I was waiting. I wanted to tell her how helpful Claire had been but I was in a rush so hopefully this review gets back to both of them so they can receive the recognition they deserve! Placed an order to go then drive out to Stonefire to pick up, paid for the food and was told food will be about 10-15 minutes. Wait 20 minutes then go up to ask the cashier where is my food and am told THEY RAN OUT OF CHICKEN. Seriously? How do you run out of chicken and did they run out of chicken prior to me placing my order or paying for it or after? Because a lot of people were getting their food and I could have swore there was chicken on some of those plates. Manager offers full refund (expected in this case) and tells me 3 minutes for the chicken to be done. Wait the 3 minutes then tell myself to give them 5 more minutes. After the additional 5 minutes food is not ready and I'm ready to leave. Get my refund and walk out, will not return and definitely will not recommend the place to others. Coworkers were mad since I was picking up food for them also... Issues: Running out of chicken really? Lack of communication, should have told me the issue and told me an additional wait was going to happen or offer an alternative protein source? For people that are always on time this is one review you can relate to. My online order was for 11:00am pick up today 8/10. I got there 5 minutes before 11:00 as the pick up order door is open already. The person said it is not ready yet as they just opened and it should take maybe just 15 min which would be 11:15. Here's my thought in the future they should not allowed online order to select time slot 11:00 since it is not available. OMG by the time my order was ready it was actually 11:35. I have to be at an event at 12:00 which is totally unacceptable in my opinion!!! 35 minutes late is what I call poor management and there is simply no excuse. Manager need to be more mindful about this. By the way, one small apology from the cashier is not my idea of caring. read more
