I went to stonefire while my parents were visiting from the east coast. It was a great place for them, you order up front and then they bring your your food when your sitting. I originally wasn't going to get the bread sticks, but Kimberly, one of the employees sold me on it! We've gone here multiple times and the food is always so good. However, the last time was a real disappointment. The food came out piece-meal, not just one after another, but literally 15 minutes in between. The BBQ chicken salad, which is always so satisfying, had stale tortilla strips, which I had to pick out, and not much chicken. When I mentioned it at the one time the server came by in 90 minutes, all she could say is "I'll get my manager." Manager came by maybe 10 minutes later and by then I ate what was left, so even though he offered to make me a new one, that wouldn't have been right. However, it would've been nice to maybe just refund me the cost. Otherwise, the tri-tip we got was amazing. This has been one of our go-to spots a couple times a month, but I think we need to find some options. read more

He worked really fast, attentive to details, and kept checking in on us to make sure we were well cared for. I have to say that Stonefire is one of the best places to eat in Thousand Oaks:) Everything I have had to eat is great! The Tri Tip, salads, salmon, chicken, pasta and sandwiches are all wonderful! The caprese sandwich is one of my favorites! My son loves the macaroni and cheese. Also for dessert they have the best carrot cake I have ever had at a restaurant. I have been coming to stone fire for years and loved how they prepared everything. This time around the food was so bland every bite didn't taste like anything. I don't know what the kitchen is doing but they need to make some obvious improvements. The tri-tip lacks seasoning and flavor. The salads don't have any flavor and need mounds of salt. The perfect place for catering...we order about once a month for work. Usually we get the tri tip, bbq chicken, mashed potatos, breadsticks, chopped salad, and always add the tray of mac n cheese. They don't even have to tell us when it gets there because the smell of that bbq sauce fills the whole office...They should sell that stuff in pints. I have to say that I was very surprised from the outside I thought it was a really nice sit down classy bar and grill when I came inside it seems sort of a half-and-half half classy have fast food but the food ended up to be rather tasty. I've been going here for the past 3 years or so and can't believe I haven't written a review yet. If you are looking for quality and affordable chicken dinners this is the place. The chicken dinner can casually feed an average family of five, with enough breadsticks for leftovers. It was about $48 total for a full chicken, salad (enough for leftovers, although leftover salad gets soggy so I take that back), and way too many breadsticks (which is a good thing). read more

I really really want to give this place 5 stars. Their golden state kale salad is my favorite salad ever...when they don't forget ingredients. My boyfriend and I come here a lot, either to dine in or get takeout, and I'd have to say that about half the time they forget ingredients in my salad. Usually they either forget the raisins (how do you forget the golden raisins in the golden state kale salad?), chickpeas, dressing, or chicken if and when I add it to the salad. It's really not that big of a deal when we are dining in, because I can always ask for a side of whatever they forgot that day. However, tonight we did takeout, and I got home and realized they didn't put raisins in my salad. I don't mean to be annoying, and I'm not about to get super upset over raisins. But, I was a little disappointed. I just wish they would double check their orders and make sure they're not leaving anything out! While I have never had issues with the quality of food... the service has always been terrible. Dining in or taking out, you can't seem to get any one to follow through with requests. For example I called in a curbside order and was quoted 15 minutes. I arrived in curbside parking and called to have it brought out. They said someone would be right out... 10 minutes later still no food. I walk inside and there is NO ONE inside waiting and only one other car in curbside waiting... my food was on the counter waiting to be taken out but there were 3 people standing around talking not taking it out to me. Opened my kid's pizza to see it had been cooking for quite a bit, too. I won't be giving them my business during these times anymore because I think now is the time to deliver better than average customer service and keep your business flourishing and they couldn't follow through on a Thursday at 11:30 am. read more

I've been to this restaurant before it had acceptable food no complaint. Went back on a Sunday everything from service to food was bad. Where do I start, normally I wouldn't do this unless it was really bad. We had a chicken Caesar Salad with bones in the diced chicken, plural. The Pizza got served almost after the meal was finished, it was a soggy greasy mess, no structure worst pizza I've had in a long time. I personally never order there pizza, acceptable for kids or novices but not someone that know good pizza, avoid it. The Tri Tip which I would say is one of there specialties had lots of sinew and tough as shoe leather. The new mesquite meatballs were so so very dry they need to be soaked BBQ sauce couldn't stand on there own. Lastly we tried the carrot cake the guy at the counter raved about it. Seriously it was the worst carrot cake I've ever ate. We used to sell hundreds of carrot cakes were I worked and prided ourselves on having the best carrot cakes, I'd be whiling to share the recipe. There carrot from the frosting to the cake was unbearably SWEET. Yes a desert should be sweet but balanced, not so sugary you can't taste anything but sugar. Look l would like to see this chain successful but there corporate chef isn't on his game. When you develop a menu the person or persons involved should never allow an item like that carrot cake on the menu horrible, the same holds true for the pizza. Bones in the chicken can happen but the back of the house needs more attention to detail. Please guys you have a good thing going don't get complacent. read more
