This is my go-to place for lunch and dinner pick ups. I have also dined-in. Their salads have huge portions and are always fresh. I like to get a petit cobb salad and sub tri tip for chicken with ranch on the side. It is a large portion and definitely satisfies if you are starving at lunch time. My only complaint is the tri tip in the salads always ranges in level of rareness: sometimes well done, sometimes very pink. Bread sticks and brownies are great, good ranch dressing, good mac and cheese (not spectacular but as a side it is ok), good pizzas. Picking up dinner can be hectic so call 30 minutes ahead and plan for 10 minutes to get the order. I highly recommend their caesar salad and add salmon. The idea of this restaurant is cool, especially for a lunch during work. It's fast and easy. The food was great I had the lemon garlic salmon with quinoa as my side, absolutely perfect. My boss had the BBQ 1/2 chicken with a side salad he said it was awesome to the point he took what he didn't finish and ate it the next day. I wish the company posted the nutritional info but they don't, however I emailed the manager to ask for the nutritional info and told him what I had eaten. He emailed me back within 24 hrs and was very helpful. Definitely recommend this place! So in reference to California law not requiring you to post the info. That's all fine and good but 1) I didn't say anything about it being a law 2) I did say I wish you would psst that's called customer feedback 3) it would be cool of you to make it easier to find the info. read more

I don't want to be harsh, but I'm amazed how the catering/take away business stays in business. My review would be totally negative except for the good service and the ribs, which never disappoint. The chicken was so dry it was a good thing I had lots of wine available to avoid choking, same with the over cooked tri-tip. The portions recommended per person when we called was highly overstated and therefore we were short on food. Luckily they made up for it with enough greasy bread to feed a small army. read more

Perfect place for girlfriends' lunch! Of course we all want salads and they have so many beautiful ones. Best of all, they come in four different sizes. This is great because the usual restaurant salad is WAY too big for me and I would never eat leftover salad from a doggie bag. My friend, on the other hand, likes to take extra home to her daughter. Tri tip was fantastic! Mashed potatoes were great, chicken with lemon and garlic was okay, not the best and ribs were tasty but all bones and fat. Blueberry cheesecake was great! Overall it was okay but the concept of ordering and having it come to our table was awful. They forgot the bread until our dessert came out, the potatoes were last to show up after we had finished all our meat. Worst part was not being able to tell a server about the missing things, we had to keep getting up to find someone and tell then what we were missing. Not a good system in my opinion. I've been going here for the past 3 years or so and can't believe I haven't written a review yet. If you are looking for quality and affordable chicken dinners this is the place. The chicken dinner can casually feed an average family of five, with enough breadsticks for leftovers. It was about $48 total for a full chicken, salad (enough for leftovers, although leftover salad gets soggy so I take that back), and way too many breadsticks (which is a good thing). read more

I really really want to give this place 5 stars. Their golden state kale salad is my favorite salad ever...when they don't forget ingredients. My boyfriend and I come here a lot, either to dine in or get takeout, and I'd have to say that about half the time they forget ingredients in my salad. Usually they either forget the raisins (how do you forget the golden raisins in the golden state kale salad?), chickpeas, dressing, or chicken if and when I add it to the salad. It's really not that big of a deal when we are dining in, because I can always ask for a side of whatever they forgot that day. However, tonight we did takeout, and I got home and realized they didn't put raisins in my salad. I don't mean to be annoying, and I'm not about to get super upset over raisins. But, I was a little disappointed. I just wish they would double check their orders and make sure they're not leaving anything out! While I have never had issues with the quality of food... the service has always been terrible. Dining in or taking out, you can't seem to get any one to follow through with requests. For example I called in a curbside order and was quoted 15 minutes. I arrived in curbside parking and called to have it brought out. They said someone would be right out... 10 minutes later still no food. I walk inside and there is NO ONE inside waiting and only one other car in curbside waiting... my food was on the counter waiting to be taken out but there were 3 people standing around talking not taking it out to me. Opened my kid's pizza to see it had been cooking for quite a bit, too. I won't be giving them my business during these times anymore because I think now is the time to deliver better than average customer service and keep your business flourishing and they couldn't follow through on a Thursday at 11:30 am. read more

I've been to this restaurant before it had acceptable food no complaint. Went back on a Sunday everything from service to food was bad. Where do I start, normally I wouldn't do this unless it was really bad. We had a chicken Caesar Salad with bones in the diced chicken, plural. The Pizza got served almost after the meal was finished, it was a soggy greasy mess, no structure worst pizza I've had in a long time. I personally never order there pizza, acceptable for kids or novices but not someone that know good pizza, avoid it. The Tri Tip which I would say is one of there specialties had lots of sinew and tough as shoe leather. The new mesquite meatballs were so so very dry they need to be soaked BBQ sauce couldn't stand on there own. Lastly we tried the carrot cake the guy at the counter raved about it. Seriously it was the worst carrot cake I've ever ate. We used to sell hundreds of carrot cakes were I worked and prided ourselves on having the best carrot cakes, I'd be whiling to share the recipe. There carrot from the frosting to the cake was unbearably SWEET. Yes a desert should be sweet but balanced, not so sugary you can't taste anything but sugar. Look l would like to see this chain successful but there corporate chef isn't on his game. When you develop a menu the person or persons involved should never allow an item like that carrot cake on the menu horrible, the same holds true for the pizza. Bones in the chicken can happen but the back of the house needs more attention to detail. Please guys you have a good thing going don't get complacent. read more

Though normally my favorite restaurant in the Conejo Valley, Stonefire Grill must now fall to being my most hated restaurant. If one cannot eat at a restaurant, then the restaurant is worthless. I say all this because again, for the third time in five weeks (as we eat at this restaurant about once a week) we got to the counter to order only to be told the restaurant was out of chicken. Dang it. We actually called at 9 o'clock to make sure the restaurant would be open in about 15 minutes (sometimes it closes early when no customers are there), the time it takes for us to drive and park. The employee said the kitchen wouldn't close until 10. We ordered about 9:18 at the counter and were told the restaurant was out of chicken. I was upset, having it happen three times is just over a month. I spoke with the manager, told him we had called, and told him they should tell people they are out of chicken when people call in, and that them being out of chicken has become a common occurrence. We eat mainly their chicken, trying to stay in shape, eat low carbs and less fatty and red meats, a reason we visit Stonefire in the first place when we go out to eat. Now, I hope the managers get replaced with ones that have business degrees or enough experience to understand "opportunity costs." What I mean is that the $40 dollars that the restaurant missed by not having us eat there could have compensated for them throwing out 10 pounds of chicken. This does not include the opportunity cost lost by us not willing to eat there anymore (as we waste time and must drive around late looking for another restaurant open, as those in T.O. close early, and most don't serve what we like to eat, rather serve fattening foods, junk foods, those that make or keep people obese). In other words, it is more profitable for the restaurant to have extra chicken at closing (which could be given to employees and not thrown out, hint, hint) instead of turning people away to spend their money elsewhere. They lose the money that night and other nights because the people turned away will not return. By the way, the manager couldn't understand what the problem was. The restaurant had plenty to eat, pizza, mashed potatoes, tri tip. I just turned around and left. He didn't get it. I go there for chicken, especially after a running and lifting at the gym, look forward to lean chicken (good tasting chicken, I must say). Okay, I feel better; although, I was pretty livid earlier. Oh, yeah, we ate wonderful meals at Cheesecake Factory, which I plan on visiting next Friday as well, instead of our usual Stonefire visits. read more

At least I hope that's what her name was!!! She was incredible!!! She was so sweet and friendly and made me laugh!!! She was so attentive and was concerned that I was waiting for something. So it was nice for her to see me, stop, and go it of her way to make sure I was completely taken care of. She stuck out to me with her incredible customer service!!!!! During the nasty heatwave with an outside temperature of 105, my husband and son decided to escape the heat and go have dinner at a nice air conditioned restaurant, Stonefire. One problem, the air conditioner didn't work and the inside temp was 86. So much for cooling off. They ordered anyway and as usual the manager wasn't managing . When you have a problem at a restaurant , give your customers a little discount , a free drink or a coupon for next visit. But this manager did nothing and since my hubby and son were already there , they had dinner . They vowed not to go to Stonefire for a long time (until issues resolved). Extremely disappointing. Love this place - great food, nice family-friendly atmosphere, fair prices. My usual beef when dining out with the family is the lack of options that include a vegetable. Not so here, you can make really good healthy choices here that are interesting and yummy, as well. Portions are huge, so be prepared. I ordered a small grilled veggie plate to go along with my meal and had plenty to take home for lunch the next two days! This will certainly become a regular filling station for my gang. read more

However my new favorite is the petite trip tip combo that includes a salad and breadsticks (it was surprisingly cheaper than my previous entree salad). Before Stonefire, Wood Ranch was the only option for quality BBQ food in Ventura County. After discovering Stonefire I have not gone back to Wood Ranch. The service is quality and we always receive our food quickly even when it is busy. The salmon, chicken breast and tri-tip are my personal favorites. Make sure to always ask for your protein well done because they have a tendency to under cook their items. The breadsticks are usually great when you have a fresh batch. Occasionally they are a bit stale as they leave them under a lamp to stay warm. Their salads are always fresh and well tossed. Stonefire is better than Wood Ranch and much less expensive. A meal for two at Stonefire would be around $27 while at Wood Ranch would be closer to $45. read more

Stonefire Grill catered our wedding rehearsal dinner on June 6, 2014. They did a fantastic job! The food was delicious, served hot, and presented well. They provided plenty of utensils, napkins, and plates. The gentleman who delivered the food and set up the buffet line (I believe his name was Scott), was prompt, very friendly, tidy, and professional. He tossed the salad, and cut the cheesecake we ordered, before he left. We ordered food for 25 people, and had plenty of food left over, which was eagerly finished off over the next couple of days. First time here with a few co-workers. Their ordering experience is a bit different. You walk up to their front counter/cash register and order what you want and pay for it right there. Then they hand you a pager for your food and you serve your own drink and find a place to sit. In about 15 minutes or so, your food should be delivered to your table. I order a chicken pesto sandwich. It was truly horrible. Rubbery chicken with cartilage still attached. I asked one of the passing employees (I think his name was Cody?) if I could get something else. He was very nice & professional about assisting me but I felt bad to even have to ask in the first place. I couldn't eat it and had already paid $10 for my meal. Their food smells great inside & out the building, but the actual taste is really hit and miss. I will not be coming back. read more
